I read your previous comments just about the time I am making this gun. I used 4 x 1 Mohm resistors because that is what I have but make a note in the video to use *4 x 3 Mohm resistors as you previously commented. This will be the last DIY gun that I built because anymore improvements I think will make it impractical to DIY due to additional cost. For instance, some viewers suggest making a 3d printed gun, but that will cost more than buying the readymade gun from China.

Hi. It is a step-up transformer. A low ac voltage supply to the primary winding produce a lot higher voltage at the secondary. 2 of the wires go to the primary winding. The third wire connects to one of the secondary terminal and is used as a current feedback so the power supply can adjust the output during constant current mode. I suggest you watch the 2 earlier videos where I show the power supply circuits in details.

Hola. Es por las propiedades de la pintura en polvo. Leí que la mayoría de las pinturas en polvo funcionan bien con carga de voltaje negativo. También leí que hay algunas pinturas en polvo que se deben usar con carga de voltaje positivo. Hay equipos profesionales que usan voltaje positivo, pero no son comunes.

There you can find all the info including the complete circuit diagrams, air connections, powder hopper, etc. I understand the difficulty in obtaining the information because they are not inn 1 video. I basically made these videos as I build up the setup bit by bit. If I'll have some time, I will make a summary of all these information and compare all the different gun setups I made.

How is the air going from the blue gun to the yellow tubing? It does not seem like they are connected in any way that would make that possible, at least to me? Did I miss a step where you cut a hole in the bent yellow PVC pipe and made a connection between it and the blue gun???? Or is the metal and black material connection at the bottom of the blue gun part not for an air compressor but just electricity? An electrical cable, I mean? If so, I have NEVER seen that connected via something that looks so much like an air pump metal connection.

I still don't understand between the cascade ground cable and the power supply ground cable. Is the ground cable for the media the ground from the power supply or the ground from the cascade?
Hi. Yes it is absolutely possible. The steel panel I tried to powder coat towards the end of the video is painted with multiple layers of 2-part epoxy paint and yet powder adheres with no problem
@@Tmrblaster88 Hi. So when doing multiple coats, the metal item must still have a good electrical connection to ground. Meaning that there is a part of that item that is still bare metal connected to ground. The ground cable is connected to the house earth ground electrical wiring through the power plug and somewhere there will be a ground rod buried in the ground for that.
Hi. No it is not a homemade powder, just yet. However, I do use flour instead of paint powder for testing purposes. The flour get the static charge and adhere to the grounded metal piece just like the powder paint.
Hi. I already made something like that. I used a blower instead of compressed air stored in tanks. I did it in one of my very first prototypes. It kind of works but the compressed air together with the powder pump is the superior method of delivering the precise quantity of powder to the work piece. Because I remember that someone made a portable powder coating like that with the craftsman brand. it looks very similar to your first version except that the wind is regulated through the spray gun.

You forgot how to show how the electronics inside of the blue gun (the former soldering iron) were wired, including the wiring onto the connector of the air compressor feed system... :/ That makes this video a little less useful for most people, I am afraid. Do you have photos? A separate video? Wiring diagrams or drawings? Something you can show us and help us continue in our recreation? :)
All those details are well documented in separate videos. You can look at the playlist on my channel. I posted these videos as I made and experimented on the various parts of the powder coating system for the first time. It's not like I'm an experienced manufacturer of these equipment that I can produce an all-in-one video in one go.

The compressed air goes to a powder pump in the powder hopper. What goes to the hose connected to the gun is already a mixture of air and powder.

Can you use a 1nf 1kv 102 capacitor instead of 1nf 10kv 102
I think 1kV capacitor is too low and may get damaged

Pressure in the range of about 10 psi or less in my experience. It depends on your setup like how long is the powder hose.
