Hi everyone! Let me know what you're creating with the mirror modifier in the comments below! :)
This video was really helpful for me, not just because of the applications for the Mirror modifier that you taught, but because you also taught me some extremely helpful ways to work with both the 3D cursor as well as the object origin points. Those two things have been confounding me for some time.
Amazing man! Youre a great teacher!
Insanely good, efficient and well explained tutorial, Cheers!
Don't have time to watch but will just leave a like. See ya!
Great explanation.
What about the other buttons, Flip and Bisect?
For the legs, instead of moving their origin, you can use the tabletop as the pivot (Mirror object)
It's very helpful. Thank you!
Is there a way to mirror as Maya does? The modifier is great, but if ive UVd a model and want to make changes to it, if I use the modifier it will screw up the UVs and I'll have to do it all again! :( .
You mean to tell me you can move JUST the origin point this whole time? I learned something today, thanks!! I have to ask though how do make the axis show the big X, Y, Z? I noticed on this video you had a large X. That would also be helpful for me. Love the vids!
Really helpful thanks, easy to follow.
I was only trying to understand the mirror modifier for Blender 3.5.1, I am making a model car from blueprints. So I can can I, mirror the side of the car and then extrude the hood and roof etc between the to sides, with its width and height etc and get a perfect shaped and scaled model? Brilliant video !!
Excellent video, thanks.
You are welcome!
Great help thank you soooo much.
Very Helpfull
Will there be a future video discussing the bisect and flip options?
great explanation
Glad you liked it!
What if we want to select the mirror side and make it separate . How to do this ? In actual we need mirrored side separate from the original one.
Thanks!
No problem!
So how do I fix clipping issues when extruding if the clipping option does nothing? Constantly avoiding mirrors because I'll try to extrude a face into mesh that intersects a mirrored plane and only the face extrudes, leaving disgusting looking planar "grates" in the mesh. Clipping on or off changes nothing, merging vertices only helps every so often; insetting with boundaries doesn't help. The modifier isn't altered in any weird way...
The only way to avoid it sometimes is by extruding away from the mesh, separating the selection and using it as a boolean for the original object I was trying to extrude into. This only ever happens with objects I've used or am using mirror modifiers on.
If I have an object mirrored, is there a way to quickly add vertisies to the copy and edit it separately? I'm making a shoe for a game
Great video!
But what about the real scanned person and one leg foot is deformed and another not. how to join copied healthy leg? Can you show some examples or can I contact you via email so you could gave some tips? 😢❤
why is mark zuckerburg teaching me blender
I have to say I hate your intro, but I love your videos. I sometimes mute your videos so I don't have to hear it. 😂
