Glen thank you for showing this… I also follow these guys and never get sick of watching them no matter if it’s Ford-Holden- Chrysler…. This is true racing and will end up being Australia’s most followed Motorsport as SUPERCARS have totally fucked there racing…. I simply don’t care if these guy’s are 8-9 seconds a lap slower the racing is 10 times better……

I'm not a Holden fan by a long shot but the SLR/A9X is my all time favourite muscle car.
RIP Holden, you guys n girls built some truly epic home grown machines and did Australia proud.
(I just learnt the name Torana comes from an Aboriginal word meaning "to fly". How fitting 🙂)

That was great viewing/racing. Cool to see a Chev, Ford, and Holden out there dicing. Great that no paint was swapped either (not that I saw).
I remember sitting in the stand there and watching the bike races one day. An ex-employee of Shoalhaven City Council, a qualified electrician, gave up his job there to be a fulltime Bike Marshal. I did see him that day in the pits, yet he was busy so I couldn't really say hello, but I did see some really nice Bikes and one, a BMW, that were due to arrive in Australia later that year. From memory the bump from Ryan on Stevie caused a tyre problem , that's why the XD dropped off , I would say the tyres went off on the Camaro so the Torana got him in the end . I love the in car stuff , don't care what make just keep it coming !

There was a hit of blue xd in the rear vision mirror few a few laps after. Great to watch and hear.

I love this so much, thank you Glenn !!! but i have questions. is it rigged? and if the camaro passes the tru-blu falcom so easily (impossibly?) how can a valve bouncing torana breeze past?. much as i8 love torana's, that one is struggling in topend, from the start of that race. I'd like to be able to hear the engines on the other cars

There is certainly nothing wrong with a pushrod V8 for extracting torque and horsepower across the rev range.
Is there a better class of racing?? I dont think so! How good was that! :)

Had a Bathurst shell early 74 slr i put a Phil jack built 327 chev and munci 4 speed ,9inch rear ,hauled ass put 400hp down at the treads ,

That aint no 308. The Torana's have been running chevs in the class for quite a while which is unfortunate. The old 308's could not keep up
@@xdub101 I wouldn't know about the class rules mate, sorry. Seemed to me that he ran out of diff ratio (bouncing off the limiter) that might have given him the upper hand, where I assumed the 308. I will say in my defence that the A9X's won Bathurst as did the XU1's with smaller engines. Either way, thanks for the input.

Looks like the slr is running tighter lines. The big bangers would have been hard on tyres. A bit looser upfront. The XD isn’t easy to get past either

It’s a 5 litre Small block Chev power plant.
Wow i dont know how that torana is front running car,its a bucket of bolts,did you see the passenger door flexing and see inch daylight,i watched the one at bathurst on their own channel and the door was showing even more daylight
mate ive got one ,they are one strong car ,,its probly had more hits than micheal jackson on those tracks , and most of its probly fibreglass

Not much out handles a Torana
This is great racing and I love these cars but this torana isn't a slr 5000 as far as I'm concerned as it doesn't run with a Holden 5.0litre 308 I realise it would be no were near as fast but at least it would be real the only guy that does run the Holden engine is jhon bowe unless that's changed over the last few years and he's put a chev in it now I don't no John bowe was up the front with the iron lion most of the time they should be made to run with the engine they came out with in my opinion wait for the haters now
Torana v Falcon what a fair fight.... go the big falcon atleast we didn't resort to putting a v8 in a cortina to win.
