Spot on. This footage gave me so much joy. I was a young boy when the Camaro of Bob Jane was racing Moffat's Mustang for the ATTC. Those were the days.
Bathurst is like the Australian Laguna Seca. Fast. Unique. Challenging. Real track. Real cars. Real Men racing them! It is not a falcon. Its Rockatanski's ride. "The last of the V8 INTERCEPTORS!" I am in awe seeing roaring around the track with its brothers. Looking forward to more content.
I know it's an old video, but that was GREAT!! Serious racing with old muscle, horsepower, and driver skill. Love it. Please make the races a little longer and export this to the U.S. I would watch this over NASCAR any day.
What a cool race! I'd pay good money to watch a few of those every year. Just imagine throwing in a '64 GTO, '67 Nova, '71 Buick GS, '65 Mustang fastback and a few others. Stands look to be packed.....for good reason. Very exciting stuff! Love that little mighty mouse Javelin mixing it up too!
$20 says these would get more views than a NASCAR race if they brought back a circiut with american muscle like this. Use sheet metal for panels and custom built chassis so no good parts get wrecked and ruined
Even if NASCAR is only racing silhouette cars from here on out, NASCAR should at least require the bodies be shaped to look the way they did in either the 50's, 60's, or 70's.
Ahhh....brings back pleasant memories of watching these 1970's brutes flying around Bathurst like they were designed to do. What a bonus to see that Javelin and to have Gricey doing commentary as well!
SPECTACULAR! Beating up on killer muscle cars and real racing. I live close to Road America in Wisconsin and still don't see guys racing this hard! Fun to watch and actual cars we can identify with. Great racing, great cars, great video! Guessing this is what the TransAm series was like back in the early 70's. Too cool!!

That Ford Falcon was called the Ford Fairmont 351 GT in South Africa. What a car - what an era. We had the Chev SS and the Holden Monaro completing the muscle trinity. Nothing today fills me with the same feeling.

I love this kind of racing! Mechanical, basic, not a lot of assistance systems, just roaring V8's, and a lot of fun. Ever since I watched some races when I was "Downunder" I love it, Phillip Island, Calder, Bathurst - can it be better?
How good is that vision of the Mustang coming over the rise at 0.42 heading down to the elbow...yellow lights ablaze....The red falcon with those awesome bonnet snouts...the sound...the feels... This is enough to make any real petrol head well up with nostalgia for a time that's gone - when race cars were hairy chested brutes.

I look at those XA Falcons and think that’s the car that should’ve been badged a Mustang in the states 🇺🇸 to continue battling the Camaro and Trans Am in the mid 70s. Ford even had a 400 that could’ve matched the Trans Am. Really love the XY Falcon. 335 series engine was a beast
