Great vidya, as-par-usual, Thanks! I grew up learning how to drive truck on a "13 letter shitspreader" Armbro construction (now Aecon) 72/Loadstar tandem, 392 gas power w/5x4. Great times in the early dumptruck years.
I saw these as a kid...I remember seeing them everywhere....while laid off from the railway I worked for a friend who had a towing company....I drove a 4700 for a few years...its funny, the interior setup was pretty much the same...gear shift and park brake, and some of the dash...
I just bought a Loadstar last week. I know this is an older video, but just from the research I’ve been doing, this truck is not a 1976. From what I’ve found, they switched to forward tilting hoods in 1972, rather than the butterfly style hood as with this truck.
0:15 Both Loadstars and Fleetstars were supplanted by the S-Series. S1600 to S1900 supplanted Loadstars, S2200 & S2300 supplanted Standard Fleetstars and S2500 & S2600 supplanted Fleetstars Construction.
My dad had a 1700 that was in a little worse condition than that. The breaks were hydraulic breaks and only one worked. The thing was very bouncy when it was driving.
I have one that came rigged up as a single with a Chevy 8foot 90s bed. I bought a Chevy stepside bed to replace it but when i returned the truck to a dually neither would fit. So im building a wooden flatbed on it with 4 x 6 beams going sideways for the frame. Then using 4 x 6 beams going front to rear for the deck, its going to be a monster. I just couldn't put some 2 x 6 or something, i had extra when i was doing the frame and tried it out, so i bought 20 more and drilling holes now!!
I drive a 1999 sterling just like the one in the background daily except it’s a water truck ...... I’m about to by a 67 RDF-230 international. 5&3 twin stick with a 2 speed rear 855 Cummins
I have a 4x4 Loadstar with 345 and hydraulic brakes. Finishing up rear brakes now but it wasn't hard and its my first real truck. Just replaced all 4 rear wheel cylinders for under 100 and the 7.17 gears are unbelievable. Ive never seen a 6 cylinder so i wouldn't have bought it either, but a Briggs single could move my truck with those gears lol if the one in new York is what you need, grab it up.
AN absolute work horse in it's day! AND being it's 43 years old. Let's hope this CLASSIC will be sold and well TAKEN care of!
I have always liked those old International trucks, maybe i'll go shopping for one someday.

Wish I had a 5x4 trans I only have a 5 speed in my tandem

International ran with their designs for a very long time. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Very nice
I used to ride a school bus with a load star front end in the 70s
But 1700 series comes to mind it was gas and had a 5 speed stick
Very popular bus chassis. More kids have rode in Internationals than they realize!
first thing I thought of when I saw that front end was waiting for the bus every morning in the early 80's
Thanks for sharing. I hope somebody can save this old girl!
My town highway dept had 2 of them diesels, always wanted one!
This could have been your chance.
Always like em,
Would make a killer pick up...

I think the two pull knobs under the ignition could the pto levers for the dumpbox?..on the 1976 Int'l,,nice old trucks good workhorses.
That truck looks like a prime candidate to have one of those fabbed up pickup truck beds put on it.

Just started work on my 1977 Loadstar 1700 project. Chassis is a little longer on mine so I can put some tool boxes between the cab and the box.
Agreed! This is a truck that deserves to be remembered.
Love to have that
Hopefully an IH lover got it...
The two knobs under the keys are for the plow controls
Ah, cool!
Nice rig i have a 77 international loadstar 1800 flatbed my question ive always wondered would they be considered a long nose semi
there is a diesel loadstar for sale by me. detroit power 24.5 rubber 5 speed and 2 speed rear . asking about 5k i believe
That sounds like a cool combo.
'cigar lighters'..lol...never saw that option before..hope you could grab some videos of the others there too...thx..
I poked around and AM General M818 and those big scrapers.
Pretty sure IHC discontinued 6cyl gas engines in Loadstars in 1968

I have a 63 loadstar with tandems I just got and u said Syracuse some of your other videos I think have been around the upstate part of NY correct?
That's right.
Wish they had a adieçast version
What did it sell for?
I hope somebody will save it
Looks much older than a 1976
They don't build them like that anymore
Drop a Cummins in it.
Did you buy it?
No. Gas and juice brakes. I'd rather have the opposite.
DailyDieselDose there’s a 4x4 like that down the road from me been for sale for sometime. It sits at Max S Wood, Coxsackie, ny!
