- On Sunday 8/10/14, we met Robert Englund at Flashback Weekend in Rosemont, IL. Needless to say, this was a dream come true. Robert is a class act all around and he took time with each and every fan who was in line, offering stories related to the items they brought with them.

1994 I honestly don't think DVDs were out yet, not for another few years. Hell,my first DVD player was a PS2 and that was in 2000!
No, DVDs were first sold in 1997, and back then, of course, the players were VERY expensive, so basically nobody had them. I also first got a DVD player in 2000, but it wasn't a Playstation 2, which probably didn't come with the voucher for several free movies that I got with my DVD player.
DVDs came out in 1997 but I honestly don’t remember hearing about DVD until 1999.I watched my first DVD on my PS2 around 2001!It was Blow with Johnny Depp!
Yeah, Englund's mistaken. DVDs were '97 as the others said. "New Nightmare" never came out on DVD until that New Line box set in 1999. It was just VHS and laserdisc before that. That standee was definitely for video stores in '95 (New Nightmare came out in theaters October '94) and I know cause I have one. It fell apart in my recent move, but I've got him.

Robert Englund is the man! Underrated actor by far. Just an all around awesome guy. He's a fantastic storyteller. Also, I'm jealous! I've never gotten to meet him but I want too soo bad. Freddy is the best horror character ever! Don't get me wrong, I love Jason and Michael but they pale in comparison to the Legend that is Freddy Krueger! The first movie I was ever taken to at the Theater was A Nightmare On Elm Street IV. I'm 31 now and I believe that movie came out in 1988, I was born in December of 82, so yeah, I was like 5 and a half or so haha! Had already seen his previous movies and I begged my aunt and uncle to take me haha.

Lol I was just watching a video of him signing a supposed "original" glove from the first 2 movies and he didnt even care. You brought him something hes never seen before and it's a cardboard cutout and he went nuts over it! I love it 🤣🤣🤣

Reading it now, it's great. Really interesting look behind the scenes of movies and TV in the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
Obviously hes being paid but he did exactly what every celebrity should do in this situation. He clearly hasn't forgotten why he's so successful. It's due as much to his fans as his own skill. Many actors don't appreciate their fans and its awesome when people like him do. He reminds me of martin kove the way he interacts with fans.
He is such a lovely guy he takes time with his fans a lot of film stars just want to sign and move on Robert Englund you are a legend
