I got a wonderful opportunity to ask Robert Englund how he prepares for the Freddy Krueger mentality, and he shared this really great story from filming the first movie involving sense memory. I absolutely love these kind of questions because as an actress myself I always find it so fascinating to learn about.

Robert should be a comedian.
I believe that was what he wanted to do was comedy.
Robert Englund has one of my favorite speaking voices. His voice is just so pleasant to hear. It’s an amazing contrast from Krueger to his actual speaking voice. I lost it when he referred to Heather as a slut, XD 😂 it’s really interesting with acting that raw emotion or even recalling memories how they transform an actors performance.
Saw the girl in this is so sweet...I love her for loving Robert. This guy has been my idol since I was a child. I love the dude. Nobody will ever replace Robert as Freddy. Robert is a horror legend . A classically trained actor too...omg the guy is amazing. Beyond amazing. Great video too

He is like the nicest guy. I met him at the Spooky Empire convention in Orlando, FL. and he had a line of at least 30 people and I went up to his table just to tell him one thing and he talked to me for like 20 minutes while signing autographs and taking pictures and he did his famous one liner that he came up with, "Welcome to primetime bitch" and "What's wrong Joey? Feeling tongue tied?" and "Nice hearing from you, Carlos." He truly is amazing, salt of the earth.
I too met Robert Englund too and he also gave me life advice!! hahah Freddy is such an inspiration for all of us in the industry! I also had a few nightmares about Freddy but he didn't want a hug, he was waiting to stab me on my back porch LOL
What advice did Mr. ENGLUND give you?!…

man... From what I've heard is that Robert talks. I like that about him, and the fact that he's just down-to-earth, and humble about what he's done is just amazing. You barely meet people like that anymore. Like you, I've grown up watching the Elm Street series, and I've even watched the remake (To me, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Jackie did a good job playing Freddy) once. I hope that one day, I will be able to meet Robert myself. I really enjoyed this video, as well as your take on this event. Good luck to you!
Oh thank you, yes Robert is one of a kind I really enjoyed meeting him I am glad you enjoyed the video. Actually I agree I don't mind the remake at all, also because Kyle Gallner is in it and I have always been a fan of him, and Jackie did a pretty good job considering everything, Robert even mentioned that Jackie did a really great job, but the remake was just made too soon.
I hope you get to meet Robert too ^.^ keep an eye out for comic-cons near you and check out the guests. I think he does a lot of comic-cons but I am not sure.

I just took my wife to Chicago to the horror con to meet him for her birthday! He is really down to earth and he signed a glove and I got him to say welcome to prime time bitchs lol it was cool. I don’t know if u have got to meet him yet but he will be in Kentucky in October for another horror con!

I bet is was! I bet that was incredible. I was born in the 90s so I just missed that era but I was obsessed with Nightmare on Elm Street none the less, it all started in my tween years and it still lives on to this day. 😄
well he gets the last laugh heather ain't done shit since then really and johnny while being the biggest star to come out of the franchise is in hot water now. Robert is the only one to still be loved to this day by fans. To still be remembered by everyone despite trying to reboot the serious no one wants to give another Freddy a fighting chance because of what this guy has done for the character.

I had the Honor to meet Robert englund at a Convention in 2018 such a nice and funny guy very humble and grateful for the fans got him to sign issue 1 Freddy cover of Freddy vs Jason vs ash I asked him what happened this was the sequel he told me what he knew and we both agreed it would of been a Great film

The guy is really eloquent. I was the perfect age to embrace FREDDY. Was probably 14 when the first one came out. Had a Freddy Poster on my door and would always dress as Freddy for Halloween or Emperor Palpatine.

What day did he do this? I checked the scheduled events on the ECCC website and couldn't find any panels with him talking. I went to the event on a Friday and got his autograph at the autograph booths next building over.
Oh I am sorry you weren't able to see a panel of his, but it was Sunday afternoon (March 5th) so maybe that's why. I am not sure if he had other panels through out the weekend, I was only able to go Sunday. But hey it's super cool you got to get his autograph and talk to him there. Sometimes that's really nice too because you can talk one on one with him, which I was fortunate to have a chance to do since I got to the signing area when his line was really low. He's such a great down to earth guy too isn't he? :D
Yeah, he is. He didn't have any problem pronouncing my name, which is hard for most people. How was the line when you got there? When I went on a Friday, the VIPs that were with him just taped the floor down with arrows pointing to what direction, which was confusing to me because everybody was crowded together. When I paid them for the autograph I asked about the line and they allowed me to cut in front of everyone.
Well they aren't VIPs they are called Minions, I have been a minion before, they are volunteers that help out everything at comic con. Some go to the celebrity signing area and help them organize auto-graphs and lines, sometimes do food runs for them. The tape usually is a way to organize the line to probably get more people in. You may have come towards the end or even at the beginning, if they let you go to the front it's because the others were probably just wanting to walk up and say hi and talk a little bit. My friends and I talked to the minion at the front and he said we could get in line and talk to him since the line had died down, but if there is anyone paying for auto-graphs they had first priority, which makes perfect sense for sure ^.^
