Now that I think about it, I'm kinda jealous of this guy. Unlike everyone else who is afraid of him, he doesn't have to worry about having any nightmares about Freddy Krueger because he IS Freddy Krueger lol
i saw his movie and went to sleep i actually wanted to dream with freddy kiling.me... i did unfortunate had a dream about breaking the toys of my cousin by accident in the elevator and making her cry..stupid dream
TheDevilsLovechild yeah, he works a lot, i think his nightmares come even in the makeup room! Man, they put him tons of makeup and things for the voice, when characters like Michael Myers or Jason just put on a jacket with trausers and a mask
How can a man who scared the absolute fuck out of me through my youth be so sweet in real life?! Freddy genuinely haunted my dreams as a kid and ruined bedtime for years! I thank you Robert,I wouldn't have changed any of it for the world.
Just goes to show how tremendous of an actor he is. And the best part is he put his heart and soul into it. Which is ironic… cus the dream demon he played stole countless peoples souls!
If you weren't there in the 80's for Freddymania, you don't know what you missed. Like Star Wars for the 70's kids, it was truly an exciting time. We had one a year, until the dawn of the 90's changed things forever. They would have Elm Street marathons at the movies and those who came dressed as Freddy would get in for free. Englund was a true rock star. Fangoria was the reigning magazine of horror. Motley Crue and Guns N' Roses ruled the airwaves. It was a fabulous time and the further we move away from it in time, the more mythical that time becomes for us. Robert Englund knows the zeitgeist he tapped into - even without ever making a movie again, he can make a healthy living in his twilight years on the convention circut. It'll be a truly sad time when he's no longer with us, and the death of a major icon.
I know I would cry my heart out if I met Robert. He is my absolute idol in the world of cinema.I've grown up watching Robert's performances in his movies. He has truly inspired me like no other person on this planet.I want him to live a long, happy and healthy life.I truly love this guy and just his whole entire being. He's such a sweet and highly intelligent guy too.He seems very tired in this interview, and yet, still finds time to talk and be kind and sweet.
The mind of Wes Craven and the crazy but phenomenal actor Robert England. They were the reason we’re afraid to sleep at times and think we hear a screeching sound on metal in a hallway. Forever in our hearts is Robert/Freddy and Wes Craven ❤️
I'm .a fan of you playing Freddy Krueger. I remember seeing the first Freddy Krueger movie in 1984 when I was young and today. I'm 48 he is old now and. I seen every last one of your Freddy Krueger movies and also some of your other movies but when you play Freddy Krueger to me those are my favorite ones to me that you play.
long time fan of the series including freddy's nightmare. as a child i couldnt get enough of the nightmare series, ive also enjoyed the books. i was lucky enough to see the nightmare series as a very young child. i remember going to sleep and thinking how i would defend myself against freddy as my counting sheep for sleeping. i think i had a good plan, but never tested.
I wish all people in the US spoke the same English so I could understand them all .. very clear , very good pronunciation. Every single word he say is easy to understand
My moms was around 7 -17 years old when Freddy was poppin in the 80s and the 90s my moms loved Freddy Krueger as growing up I’m 18 turning 19 it’s great to watch this
I feel the same. It's my biggest dream to meet this idol. I'd cry my eyes out if I were to meet him. It's been my dream to meet him and talk since I was small. Seems such a nice guy. He loves us fans. We love him. Glad Robert is loved because he deserves it.
Tony Anastasio Well I GOT TO. I missed the photo op, but I did get to meet him and I got his autograph on a Freddy picture they had at the comic show and I got him to sign my NES Nightmare on Elm Street cart.
He’s a legend along with Hodder and gunner. The first nightmare film I seen as a child was new nightmare and it was and is my favorite. I have had the mask from back then till now and it’s sitting outside bothering my non horror neighbors and I love it lol I’d love to meet him and have all my Freddy appeal signed. No one will even replace this man as anyone, period.
I'm not gay but I'll be the first to tell you that I fucking adore this man; Robert Englund. He's just the best, man. And even without 'fanboying', even a little, I can unflinchingly say that he is the only actor I can think of that has the ability to play such the.... vile, perverted, evil, nightmarishly ghoulish characters one can think of .... and yet, be *such* a kind soul. He also seems like he always makes time for his fans, and genuinely enjoys (most) conversations with them ... and that's regardless of how, completely fucking exhausted the man looks, and I'm sure feels, AND not even come across as a dickface. I can tell you right now, that, is something I know I would fail at lol. I mean, I obviously wouldn't want to, intentionally, be a dick to fans of mine, but... if I worked the kind of work/hours that he does (especially at the age of 69...?) heh, yeaaaahhh, NO! AND THEN have to deal with hordes of screaming fanboys/girls (I say that like it's a bad thing, even though I'm sure it's not lol, although..... I'm sure it can be, and HAS been a total pain in the ass before for him). But yeah, I would not be in *nearly* as good a mood, as he (at least appears) to be. I mean... lol, fuck dude, you Have to give the man props. Like I said, the man is just the fuckin' best, and he is one, of only 3 individuals, that I have on my bucket list, as a person I want to shake hands with. One day.... One day, hopefully, I can make that happen!
when I was young my uncle made an actual glove with real blades scared the shit out of me at 6 years old but these movies are still my favorite out of all the boogie men If I had the mask and the glove it would bring back good memories of my uncle even though I couldn't sleep for a long time lol.
Mr. Englund, YOU are the reason why I fell in love with Horror movies. Freddy Krueger will ALWAYS be my favorite monster. You are right Sir, because Dream Warriors is indeed my favorite of the series. Willie was also my favorite character on V. I'm a lover of all things Old School, so I prefer the original V & A Nightmare on Elm St. movies. #ChildOftheSeventies 😁😁
This guy is such a great actor. I'm 17 and still scared to death of his old elm street movies. It's crazy how he can be so evil and scary in a movie and be so cool in real life.
Ext. CEMETARY - DUSK Freddy manifests from the dream world. He looks around, until he sees a headstone in front of him labeled, WES CRAVEN. He approaches it. After a slight pause, Freddy sneers at first and hesitantly, but quickly removes his razor glove and places it on the grave. He walks away, waving his hand [where he once donned his glove] in the air and then proceeds to remove his hat, placing it against his chest faintly smiling as he re-enters a portal back to the dream world. Freddy: (echos) Master... FADE TO BLACK
Entertainment Media Show? Oh shit I was there! I got to meet him and he was just great. He knows how loyal his fans are and was so great, he answered any question I would ask him unlike most celebrities I've met.
First film is still scary to this day with just that concept of being afraid to fall asleep. Sure we have more nasty horrors these days with the torture scenes made famous from the Saw franchise but that is more sinister and uncomfortable to watch rather than pure horror.
For a while there I thought his hand was glued to his face. Englund is the man but nothing beats Freddy in the first film. After that he became a joke.
I always thought he was British. Now that I think about it, it's probably because of his last name, manipulating my subconscious. Freddy at work once again. Well played, Robert.
I like how they made the new Freddy more darker just like they made the new Jason run, which is pretty dark because seeing jason run was pretty scary considering he never did it in the original series
I'd have to disagree with you there, not because he ran in part 3, but also because the fact he just stalked you and you had no idea when or where he'd pop up (another gripe with the new Jason for me was the tunnels to explain how he moved about without being seen, it ruins the supernatural edge of the movie)
I can't understand why people even like the new ones (both freddy and jason) I wasn't aroud for tge first filmd but I love them none the less. The new ones are abominations made for 21st century teenagers who doesn't appreciate movies that actually are well done... Englunds and Hoddards original characters are the only ones. The new ones are wannabes and ain't even in the same leauge. No disrespect against the actors themselves buh takinb of the monumetal roles as they did they are bound to fail. It would be as if peter jackson where to remake lord of the rinngs in 20 years or so with diffrent actors for the fellowship. It doesn't just work with those who really love the originals and know why they do it.
I wish i would see more of Englund in action. Yeah, he's done alot of movies but alot of them i haven't heard of and watched. I hope the last movie he makes before he retires is another Nightmare on Elm Street sequel.
We really need a legitimate Nightmare movie with Robert as Freddy. No one can ever be Freddy but him and time is running out as he’s getting older. If they could get a good story written with a good budget (put good actors around him) this franchise can be rebooted. Make Freddy terrifying again...
Actor Robert Englund is a genius. I really hope, now what with the release and success of the recent Halloween 2018, that a filmmaker takes interest, does, and proposes to Robert and Heather Langenkamp to reprise Freddy Krueger and Nancy Thompson in a new A Nightmare On Elm Street, a sequel to the original series or a new Part 2. May this happen as soon as possible!
Keep being you Robert we love you I loved freddy from day one I hope you do one last movie cuz freddy's not dead he needs to be put rest the right way we need a freddy vs Jason 2
He really seems like one of the nicest people ever
I know!!! :D
Now that I think about it, I'm kinda jealous of this guy. Unlike everyone else who is afraid of him, he doesn't have to worry about having any nightmares about Freddy Krueger because he IS Freddy Krueger lol

You forgot about Jason....
I’m dead 🤣
i saw his movie and went to sleep i actually wanted to dream with freddy kiling.me... i did unfortunate had a dream about breaking the toys of my cousin by accident in the elevator and making her cry..stupid dream
He looks tired...poor guy he has been working so hard.
But still gave a great interview hes an awesome guy
azurequincy hope he doesn't fall a sleep!
azurequincy ikr ☹️ I feel so bad for him
Even 8 years later he still hasn't stopped 😂 how cool is that
Such a wonderful man. Thank you Robert for your passion for horror, and the loyalty and kindness you show your fans.
Right! Englund deserves this recognition.
He has it wrong. Freddie wasn't the icon. He was the icon. He was good even in the bad Nightmare movies. He did a terrific job as Freddie/
Its spelt Freddy..
You re so right
@@harmie1743who cares? Sheesh.😮
Fantastic guy and actor love to meet him. Mr krueger Rob Englund
Robert Englund as Freddy Kreuger is hands down THE best horror character of all time. Just a shame they bled it to death
TheDevilsLovechild yeah, he works a lot, i think his nightmares come even in the makeup room! Man, they put him tons of makeup and things for the voice, when characters like Michael Myers or Jason just put on a jacket with trausers and a mask
So i am agree. Freddy Krueger is the best of all time.
Facts
I like Jason 2 but Freddy Vs jason Vs ash is the best concept I love those comics
Robert Englund Is The Best Freddy Kreuger Of All Time Who Else Can Do it Better Than Robert Englund Himself

He was a great guy to meet!!!!!!!!!!
Englund is so good to the fans, been a fan for over 30 years!! Thanks for my very first nightmare when I was 4!
Reluctant Idiot thought that it was bad me seeing A Nightmare on elm Street age 8 in '84, but you beat me on that one.

Yea Robert seems like a cool guy to meet and he's very intelligent.
A fab interview. :]
Dream Warriors is the best one, in my opinion.
But I got really upset that they killed Nancy.
Best soundtrack too. Nothing beats Dokken.
A Nightmare On Elm Street 1984 is the masterpiece that Dream Warriors can’t compete with.
satchfan2010 Dream Warriors and Original, i'll go with the very 1st one!

The one and only Freddy actor. Too bad he didn't do another Nightmare movie.

He ran in part two as well lol, never understand why people always did the "Jason never runs" when he has in at least three of the movies.

His laugh at the end. So cute.

my respect there will never be another Freddy like you bro to bad you let it go but it's all good thanks for Freddy.
freddy is a fav in a long running spook. hes a nightmare willing to notice that he could continue the night "NO HOLDS BAR"
He's the reason that even the cheesiest freddy movies are all worth watching.
jason is cool but freddy have that scary and funny type persona who always kept me watchin
I wish more appreciated Freddy than Jason, because Freddy can do so much more than Jason
