The Suzukis and Autozam may have the same engine (all of them originally had the F6A, but depending on the model, later years had a K6). Though it's interesting to see how the same engine does in different chassis, I probably would've tried to get a Honda (Beat, Today RS, Z, or maybe S660) and a Subaru (Vivio RX-R or Pleo RS) in the mix. Or next time, race some kei vans: Suzukis offered turbos while Subarus offered superchargers, though Daihatsu's 4v DOHC engines were quite competitive.
In Japan they still do but less of the sporty stuff. You can technically still get a newer Copen as well as Honda S660 if you're not fancying older cars. There's also the Alto still around. Reason why these cars aren't the stuff everywhere? Other countries have enough space for bigger cars to run free, so kei sized cars aren't that useful.
Awesome kei car race. 😁 I hope you'd also race some of the most common sedans in SEA with 1.3L-1.5L engine or some 2017 compact everyday sedans like Mitsu Lancer EX, Honda Civic, Mazda 3, Toyota Altis in the future.

As an ex Copen (in black) owner, I recall that it had four and not three cylinders Matt. And no it wasn't a later 1.3, it was a 53 plate without the hideous spoiler that came later.
It tried to kill me twice as well. First time going round a roundabout in Thurrock when the offside trackrod decided it no longer wanted to be part of the steering and suspension. Then coming back from Blackpool, lane three overtaking a Porsche (oh yes that little Copen was screaming) and the nearside trackrod after hearing about what it's counterpart had done, thought it would be great to do the same! That was a fun moment! Best thing ever though (and it was I suppose my fault) was when one morning I threw a squidgy into the boot and it somehow landed on the sponge and rubber, with the handle sticking up. Well how was I supposed to know and in a million to one odds chance, I put the roof down later that day and heard a dink and a little tinkle. Imagine my surprise when the roof went back up with only the remnants of a rear screen was and a very smug squidgy sitting in the boot with glass all around it. I do miss that car and all the money I spent on it.

It’s not that slow. I screwed up and set the boost wrong as I’d converted it to stock for the shoot. Only making 0.35bar not 0.8. Not a big difference but enough when they have 60bhp stock.
@@grezza112 Oh shit youre the owner?? Your cars sick, dude!
Fitting Yahanni in a Kei car gives all other an unfair advantage jajajajajajajaj
But his face when discovering its a turbo was amazing LOL
The Suzukis and Autozam may have the same engine (all of them originally had the F6A, but depending on the model, later years had a K6). Though it's interesting to see how the same engine does in different chassis, I probably would've tried to get a Honda (Beat, Today RS, Z, or maybe S660) and a Subaru (Vivio RX-R or Pleo RS) in the mix. Or next time, race some kei vans: Suzukis offered turbos while Subarus offered superchargers, though Daihatsu's 4v DOHC engines were quite competitive.
Ah yes you're first cars when you play Gran Turismo in career mode! Oh the memories 😁👍

Not anymore, GT7 don't have them, it's now Forza or never 😂😂😂
these cars look soo cool why dont brands make more of these I want one
In Japan they still do but less of the sporty stuff. You can technically still get a newer Copen as well as Honda S660 if you're not fancying older cars. There's also the Alto still around.
Reason why these cars aren't the stuff everywhere? Other countries have enough space for bigger cars to run free, so kei sized cars aren't that useful.
To small and not safe . Be nice if only k cars were allowed in the city and normal cars had to park and ride etc.
Japan has so many interesting cars. I LOVE kei cars ! Even more, I love the CONCEPT behind them.
Love to see Yianni racing here he’s super cool 😎
yanni totally jumped the start haha
Awesome kei car race. 😁 I hope you'd also race some of the most common sedans in SEA with 1.3L-1.5L engine or some 2017 compact everyday sedans like Mitsu Lancer EX, Honda Civic, Mazda 3, Toyota Altis in the future.
1 Mitsubishi Lancer
2 Toyota Altis
3 Honda Civic
4 Mazda 3
Would love to see Subaru Vivio RX-R at some point too
Inside the cars: happy engine noises!
Outside the cars: wind.
Those turbos whistle like a kids toy😂😂😂😂😂
😂🤣😂🤣 It's like slow motion seeing them crossing the line...!!
I always press like as soon as the video starts because carwow doesn't miss 🔥
Yep. Always nailed it.
How adorably cute are these cars...I want one!
Chrysler PT CRUISER and Lupo Cup Car: Are we a joke for you?
The Chrysler pt loser is not cute, it's disgusting
The camera crew probably had to run alongside the cars to film this😂😂no need for a film car.......😂this has to be the smallest Drag race in Carwow.......well done Mat nd the Team at carwow💥👌
Yianni’s the man, definitely makes these videos
8:19 this part is so funny 😂😂😂
This is your best work. Love real small JDM cars.
Me too. Keke Tang also love those MINI JDM Cars.
UK cars were 1.3 4 cyl, JDM versions had 657cc turbo 3cyl
@@charliedaker no, the jap ver come with 4 cylinder 660cc engine
Sam's brake check was greatness. NO ABS and having to lift off is a butt-puckering experience.
What a fun kei-car compare 😆
Love AZ-1 look cool like sport car and good performance 😄
What a great lineup. Please can you do some more tests using cars from the past, it doesnt matter if they were Fast, Slow, Tottaly Rubish or anything inbetween. It would still be very entertaining.👍
Man I want to own one of these az's and mod to like 150-200hp. They sound awesome too. Should be mad fun
@real_carwow1 stfu scammer
Id love to get a small car like that, has to be fun to cruise in
Chrysler PT CRUISER: Hitoridakenanteerabenaiyo!
Fun but probably gonna be a safety anxiety cage and if you live in a country where big SUVs prevail, people will struggle to see you clearly on the road
Tuned Kei cars are great. I remember not long ago driving to Neston (UK) and there was one on the same road. So cool. Fast(ish), loud and so much turbo noise!
When a 64bhp powered Restricted car sounds better than any modern Audi with soft limiters 💀
@Messag__me__mr_car_wowfaker
Brings happy memories back from the early gran turismo games ,love the looks of the AZ-1 😎
Yeah I raced kei cars in gran turismo 7 too
I'd love to come to Japan sometime and see your review of the latest kei car!

Hahaha Yanni and matt are hilarious 😂
The new top speed test was great 🏎

@@purwantiallan5089 completely different weight class.
"all 3 cylinder engines" causally shows a 4 cylinder inlet manifold
I’ve had my Copen for 2 years now, bought for 1800 and have had zero problems bar a light needing replacing. Top speed I hit in it was 104 on Waze, probably about 110 on the dash, thank god I didn’t need to brake 😂 Absolutely love the car though, especially with the roof off 😅
How exactly was it determined that Yianni didn't jump? It's pretty obvious even from the first shot that he jumped it by quite a bit.
he would'v still won either way, the Autozam is fast
