  • Here we have a working Supercharged Model V8 Engine and we want to fit it into an RC Car and turn it into a V8 Burnout car!! But 1st we need to get the engine running.

No, These ones run great, I have one , the rotarys are pain... They wont Run well ore even start. In the Manuel stands how to tune them. The screw for the fuel mixture has to Go all the way in, one and a half Turn Back and it will start, than you can adjusg the idlespeed. After that you Rev the engine, if it revs Up slowly only, than it is to rich, turn the mixture screw out Just a tiny bit. If the engine revs Up but the idlespeed stais Up quiet a Long Time than it Runs to lean. Screw the mixture screw in Just a tiny Bit. The V8 Models Run very wenn and arent hard to tune.

I'm a former mechanic, and electrician. You need to be careful when taking the cambelt off, the timing might be out,- which might be one reason it doesn't run properly. There should be an idle screw on the carburettor- this allows you to set the idle once it is running. It looks like you need to take it apart

I'm a mechanical engineer, the metal dust in the oil tells me he fucked it 😂
Nitro fuel has a mixture which also contains oil, it's similar to fuel mixed for 2 stroke engines, a little oil that lubricates the engine and gets burned. When kev ran it on 100% methanol, it flushed out all the oil and it was basically metal on metal. I honestly sometimes wonder why kev makes stupid decisions when it comes to his videos sometimes. He didn't even run the engine in properly, he never runs his rc car engines in. Just starts them and full throttles. It's sad to watch, but i guess it gets him the views. Same when he sends the cars into oblivion and damages half the parts, but you can can argue that's part of using them, to bash, break, fix, repeat.

the methanol fuel wouldn’t hv caused the engine to seize that quickly. Theses engines are built to last a few months…. i doubt a cycle of 30 mins of non lubricated rpm ruined it. I think it’s due to the change in temperatures as he ran the fuel. The only reason i can think of that his shaft was stiff was cuz he ran the engine way too hot. The radiator had no fan on it and there was no where near enough air going into the supercharger in the first place.
I strongly believe his engine seized up due to incomplete combustion and thermal expansion.

I think its already been mentioned but u need to run the vent line to fuel tank to pressurize it so it pushes fuel to the carbs. It was already running lean and then u sprayed it with nitrous which leaned it out even more. Poor thing didnt stand a chance! Would love to see it in the truck once u get it running right. The extra wieght in the front would be beneficial to a burnout rig imho.

Hey Kevin, those glow starters have a “potentiometer” in them. I was gifted a 2 cylinder engine and the glow starters wouldn’t make the glow plugs glow. I adjusted the little screw on the potentiometer to get them to glow on a 2S Lipo. The glow starters are also very finicky and you can burn out the plugs super easily. It’s a bad design.

First mistake, using water as coolant. Second mistake, using non nitro fuel in it, third mistake trying to use nos, your lucky this little thing did not explode sending shrapnel in your face. When the coolant line blew nitro onto you telling you the head gasket was blown already mixing nitro into your water before the water boiled blowing the coolant line onto you, also its a bit above my head but i would think you would need to change the timing if you use non nitro fuel or nos, i would not recommend nos, its an aluminum engine and i know real aluminum engines cant handle nos, i would not expect this little guy to handle it even if it was steel. Awesome video dude, dont underestimate these little engines, they can throw a rod through their little oil pans and blocks like a real engine. Id also reccomend safty glasses at least, i dont think you want nitro/nos/fuel/oil in or shrapnel in your eyes.

It's a novelty engine... It is not made to run long or last long...
There is a reason you can't find videos of these toyan engines doing anything except free revving by youtubers who were given free samples to make a video on... they only make a couple videos because the engine stinks and only runs a few times. A single cylinder nitro engine is 100x better.
This engine is a waste of time.

@@Alvino_rc i don't doubt his skills - that's why I love his channel, but I'm calling the engine a waste of time because it won't last...
I know people WANT to see it done, but it's not going to end up the way everyone expects (some V8 rocket)... It has nothing to do with Kevin and only the motor. It makes nothing for power, and is made of soft aluminum, it just won't last and a cheap nitro engine will kill it all around.
Will it make a great video? Probably. But will it last more than a few tanks of fuel before the valvetrain is worn out and it won't start anymore? I highly doubt it.

methanol wont ignite correctly using a glow plug, it also dosnt have any of the oils that the correct fuel has to keep it lubed up and can clearly see that the fuel isnt flowing past the Y joint youve fitted. also your relaying on back pressure from the exhaust to force the fuel into the engine. prime the fuel line first and it will start easier,

Kevin, love the channel, and appreciate your passion, but...
I'm not sure the ARMA chassis is going to work with that engine. I think you're going to end up making your own chassis. As I see it, the simple fact is, brushless motors and RC petrol motors are made to be installed ON a chassis, there is chassis beneath them. This engine will require the engine to poke down through the chassis, so the driveline can be somewhat level. Creating the engine bay required in the front end is going to seriously compromise the plastic chassis as it currently is, and that is not to mention that the ARMA suspension is precisely where you want that engine to be, IF you want that supercharger sticking out through the "bonnet".
I would like to see you create a car for this engine, I just think you're going to have to build yourself a bespoke chassis... The KT EXTINCTION. Your own chassis design is an opportunity to take what you've learned through your RC life, AND leverage the skills and knowledge you've gleaned in the building and running of GAME OVER the monster truck.
Regardless, I will for sure be watching, however you choose to execute this project!

Maybe the supercharger is making it more difficult to run right or it needs a fuel pump or something.... good luck with it. Id suggest a standard 4cycle o.s. 40 four cycle rc car engine for the infraction if you cant sort it out. Those work and were designed for that application.

This might sound crazy but if you scale the fuel lines up to 1-1. If your feed line is 5/8ths then you split it in half to feed to carbs it goes to 5/16th. I would say you needed a independent fuel feed for each carb.
