I went to Moscow and St Petersburg for tourism while I was in the military and stationed in Germany 2018. Looking back at it now, it was probably a big risk. I secretly got the visa and told the army I would be in Finland for my Christmas leave. While I was there, an American named Paul Wehlan was arrested. To this day, he is still imprisoned there. Makes me feel grateful nothing bad happened to me.
I did the same thing in the Army, brother! In 1999, I was a 32 CW2 Kiowa Helicopter pilot and I told my command that in August of that year I was traveling to Germany to visit a former girlfriend from my former deployment. Instead, I traveled to Kiev to attend a social with a dating agency where I ended up meeting my ex-wife. The marriage lasted 15 years and we produced a wonderful daughter.

American named Paul Whelan was arrested because he is CIA spy. He will rot in jail for a long time! There are lots of Americans, Brits etc. in Russia and nothing bad happened to them.

My advice to those guys who have women in Russia. Don't go to Russia ask her to meet you in Georgia . They don't need visa to travel. It's no expensive country.

Most of the sovok (traditional / primitive / ultra-conservative ) Russians won't do that , and they probably don't have enough time and money to go there - even if they wanted to . Also there is a 90 % probability that your average Russian wimmin are patriots .... or even support the state and it's genocidal war .( Unless they are from the intelligentsia .... and those ones wouldn't need a foreigner ) ... I suppose that might work if you do also support the Russian Hilter ......
Quality content, I very much enjoyed hearing from someone on the ground. Especially loved your answer: "Do you expect me to be pro-Russian when they are firing cluster munitions at me?" Also interesting to think about how the Americans who go to Russia and are even pro-Russian are likely going to get assaulted by drunk, vengeful Russians from time to time.
And they’ll probably still blame the US and Ukraine when they do get assaulted by Russians … 🙄

Kazakhstan is VERY FAR AWAY , and there are never going to be wizzair or Ryan flights to AA or Asatana for £50 - like there just recently were to Kyiv and Moscow ..... So it'd be hard to date there and also hard to move there for couple years ... whereas you can do that in Russia or Ukraine - winter permitting. (It's a 3-4 hour flight .) e.g I can get from Bristol , Dublin or Manchester to Lviv in 12 hours for $60 . But AA and Astana are $600 and a 15-20 hour flight , London only
