Hey, so I am actually agreeing with you when I said “they had to invade”
What I mean is, because they made so many poor decisions they had no other choice. Obviously, had Russia chosen to have a better relationship with Ukraine they would not “have to invade.“
I wasn’t stating that Ukraine was going to join the European Union. I was just looking at it from Russia’s standpoint. There’s no way they could possibly allow those F-35s that were going to the EU to end up in Ukraine.
Great video, I actually watch your channel a lot.

Looking at it through the prism of Russia as a revanchist empire then yes, Russia ‘had to’ invade since Ukrainians had a better option in the EU and other than under violent compulsion, they were determined to leave Russia’s sphere of influence.
I watch lots of your content on social circle and Instagram and am up for discussing it in more depth some time. 🎥

Its weird how one can say that a bigger more powerful country should be able to dictate how a neighbouring country decide to build their defense and security insurance. Especially when the bigger country openly use propaganda and warp small truths into big lies to rewrite history in their own narrative. As a western, educated person with a much larger access to independent media - international viewpoints : there should be no excuse into falling into the narrative of the ex kgb autocratic anti west leader.

I think that if a person is red pill in some sense - with regards to women or money etc - some fall prey to the idea that there is a red pill in everything and all the time. If "MSM" claims something, they therefore have be contrarian because it makes them feel smart, and many of their viewers keep listening to them because it makes them feel smarter than the average bloke (the influencer in question have already established a reputation of being "smart and different = interesting").

Historically, Kremlin active measures influence campaigns have focussed on Western media outlets, due to their huge influence. But plummeting ratings and viewership has caused a shift toward the alternative media outlets (podcasts, blogs, video channels, etc) that have sprung up as a result, and their huge audiences.
They are now the primary disseminators of Kremlin disinformation as evidenced by some of the comments here.
It should come as no surprise that Moscow would trash the leadership and country of a targeted nation everytime they add another country to their long history of bloody conquest. Unfortunately, the whole "Red pill" crowd (of which I was once a part of) has fallen for it hook, line, and sinker.

The GDP/capita of Poland and the Baltic States is more than double that of Russia and higher than Moscow. Poland is predicted to over take Brexit Britain in terms of the GDP/capita by 2030. EU accession is calculated to have added 40% to Poland’s GDP versus if they hadn’t joined.

Czechia i.e. has reached 91 percent of the European Union average living standard , to be precise Czechia had a GDP per capita at 80% of the European average by 2023, the per capita GDP in purchasing power parity reached 91%, 20 years after EU accession. Overall, all new member states' standards are now closer to the EU average than they were before the EU accession. Corner what will Ukraine do if they lose the four oblasts and quite possibly kharkiv too regarding the Donbass that region reminds me of the six counties or Ulster who wanted to stay part of Britain something similar is true of the Donbass where most of the people want to be part of Russia this is also the case in Belarus where places like Gomel and other eastern regions were once part of Russia that's why they have Russian speaking majorities in that part. of the country it was the soviets in the 1920s who enlarged the territory of Belarus and Ukraine at the expense of Russia the last chapter of the soviets giving Russian territory away was in the 1950s with Crimea going to the Ukrainian soviet republic the current Belarus government is concerned what happened to Ukraine they fear
something similar could happen to them if they don't sign some treaty of intergrating there state with the Russian federation this means increasing intergation of the two states military and intelligence services harmonising immigration law enforcement Putin has something similar in mind in regards to Kazakhstan

Conor, Glad you are doing well.
Always get a little concerned when we hear about a missile strike on Odessa. The Thinkniks in America and Europe are worried about Ukraine survival. Ukraine is running out of troops while Putin is sending another 300,000 for his offensive in June or July. The population math favors Russia and Putin is shifting to a war economy and preparing the country for a long conflict. Russia will continue to degrade the Ukrainian power grid and demoralize the population. We read stories where Ukrainian men in Europe are refusing to return to join the army. We see the statements from the Russian Duma where they are planning on taking the whole country by 2026. Poland and the Baltics are next. Trump will do nothing except give Putin a green light. Needless to say we are worried for Ukraine. Bob. USA.
