Nixon was the best at foreign affairs.
I was young, following his foreign policy...I knew then, that was the totality of what the federal government should be involved in. The rest is state rule! Federalism rocks! You don't like something, move ........
That I agree with, morally corrupt as hell, but good at foreign affairs. He really messed up with Cuba though.
@@belen3732 you may not know, but the people who broke in the hotel were mostly see I a ops, I think it was 6/7...he was set up. Then, they got an inexperienced guy who had never reported on anything, he became famous reporting that story. When he was asked to step down, they said Agnew was not taking over. They were going to take him out too., Charge him with an crime....So, they put Ford in, an operative well known to the "agencies".....notice, Nixon had the largest landslide ever, Ford never got elected. He lost to Carter.
@belen3732 And I think with india. However he and ronald reagan were good in foreign affairs.

Whoever runs this page is a G
Yes whoever took over this page is due a big promotion because they did an amazing job allowing Nixon to speak for himself.
This page did nothing. The original interviewer did this. In a time period whe they actually let people finish a sentence without rudely interrupting. Nixon has been dead a long time. Best advice he gave was show strength, be firm, and know your subject. And we sent diapered Dementia Joe Biden.
😂who knows what you mean? P S oW!
It means, please spell out words 😂😂😂

Western leaders today need to learn the basics from Nixon
They all know this except for Trump
@@bobwoods1302This is the stupidest thing yet... Trump had ALL the foreign leaders under his control, unlike the present imbecile in the white house
@@bobwoods1302😂😂😂 You got it bad.

@@bobwoods1302TDS sufferer confirmed. Did Russia invade Ukraine when Trump was President? Nope
I find that a lot of Eastern Europeans prefer the direct approach, they don't like charm or aggression but they appreciate bluntness and direct conversations.
Can confirm. They don't like to have unnecessary talk, just straight to the point and very blatant in what you want.
And yet - all we get are provocations, insults and threats. While we try to have things nice.
Because we are expected to accept being treated as slaves.
And when we call out the insults and threats - we get endless gaslighting.
Which is why the West won't be missed after it collapses.
Yes SAY WHAT you mean and

@@priscilla.colburn444 agreed and good point.
There's an old saying... "Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining"
Very true. But as I know some eastern Europeans I also find they also lack empathy. They fail to understand the plight of others and very easily suppress any forms of self guilt or wrong doing. They rarely acknowledge that they are ever wrong.
The only things I've ever known about this particular President are water-gate and futurama. I now see because of this page, this man was spectacularly intelligent in foreign affairs and environmental conservationism. Despite his flaws, he'd have my vote had he ran today.
Archie Bunker loved him❤.
People like you have absolutely no concept how ignorant and sickening they are.
Nixon not very nice to Vietnamese women and children.
Nixon was innocent and set up by the same people that killed JFK. He knew too much!
NIxon had great ideas but unfortunately he was very self destructive and paranoid. Bad combination for being President. He really was his own worst enemy.
President Nixon was an absolute breath of fresh air after President Johnson. Highly intelligent, interesting, expert in foreign policy. Unfortunately he was done in by one of his few faults, insecurities and loyalty to people he maybe should have avoided in the first place. President Nixon s loss was America s loss. God bless this man who had America's best interest as his main interest.❤❤❤ ❤❤
I’m finding more and more that I only know the caricature of historic figures… manufactured dissent I suppose.
he was done in by the zionist run cia. woodward was cia (naval intelligence) and everything was fed to him from the #2 in the cia.
Nixon was paranoid and extremely self destructive. He was his own downfall. He was a man who had very low self esteem which is surprising since most candidates running for President have a huge sense of ego bordering on megalomania. Nixon was the opposite allowing his lack of self worth to undo his presidency.
Personally I'd rather have free and fair elections over anything else. Nixon was a crook. He was good at international affairs, but that doesn't excuse his corruption.

He’s still in my Top 5 greatest Presidents ever in US history.
Top 5 is crazy

Great Man Nixon never forger his leadership.Hod bless him.
Hod, whoever he is, can bless Nixon. God does not. Sorry,
I wish the US will have another president like Richard Nixon. The I listen to him the more I miss him.
You really shouldn't. While he had many great ideas and policies including universal healthcare he was a man who was extremely paranoid and had very low self esteem. It was his lack of self worth that really was his undoing in the end. "The fall of Saigon and the disastrous pullout of Vietnam was all on him."
The fall of Saigon happened after Nixon resigned, and with a deliberate dereliction of the Treaty of Saigon because the Democrats were vindictive.
Thank you Then President Mr. Nixon Sir.
He lived in the real world!
One of the very few american presidents to have done so, indeed
Pragmatism is pretty rare among them
Good lesson for current Republicans.
For current Democrats too.
Biden did not play Ukraine with even an iota of focus on achieving peace.
And he’s allowed significant damage to the future outlooks of many allied nations by damaging international trade.
Rough handling doesn’t work well with any great power.

Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt (both), Truman (may be questionable, but still way above Nixon), Eisenhower, Reagan of course, and even Clinton top him. And I'm being on a very safe side here.
@@davidcesarinoClinton? What did he do?
@@katherinepll 1) Telecom Act; 2) Appointed RBG (you may disagree, but she honored her appointment and the SCOTUS seat by not retiring under Obama); 3) Gradually decreased the federal deficit by resisting too much spending while also resisting Gingrich's claws for tax cuts; 4) Handled some world economic crisis very well (1997 being the most obvious); 5) Normalized relations with Vietnam (big deal at the time, and it proved important in recent times); 6) Brought Poland and Hungary to NATO (besides the Czechs) without promising Russia anything nor startling them; 7) Handled the Balkans well, though a bit late but somewhat understandable considering public opinion inside and outside US; 8) More importantly, he resisted the Democratic nonsense on many issues, while also capitalizing on the more traditional republicans to support many right things. In my opinion, he was the last President to actually avoid this nonsense tribalist politics that became increasingly strong under Bush and full throttle under Obama and beyond.
@@katherinepll I'm not saying Clinton is awesome nor in the league of the others I mentioned. Just that when even Clinton is above him, I wouldn't put Nixon anywhere near the top. And just to clarify the last point, IMHO he demonstrated that you can neuter somewhat successfully the tribalist politics that is weakening US position. And nobody can say they didn't try considering the striking GOP reversal of 1994.
@@katherinepll As for Nixon, though a brilliant mind and a beacon of wisdom in international relations as these videos very much show, how he actually handled the international scene left many scars and shame in his legacy. And of course I'm not even going to talk about domestic politics.
Hate him all you want but he was absolutely fantastic with foreign affairs/relations and strategy
But great at breaking the law and horrible with domestic affairs as his administration oversaw high inflation, high unemployment, and a recession all at the same time.
Nixon had his moments for sure but he had plenty of bad moments too.
Plus his foreign policy wasn't that great in that in opened the floodgates to China and he sabotaged the Vietnam peace talks...not so great policy decisions.

Nixon was a true diplomat.
I Believe that is a Good Way to Negotiate in your Personal Life as Well.

He was a very smart president. The whole Watergate issue should not have destroyed his presidency. He should never have stepped down
Much as Nixon was a capable man, he was guilty of other crimes, not the least of which was his treachery in 1968 when he secretly went behind President Johnson's back to negotiate with the Vietnamese communists, claiming he would offer them a better deal than Johnson, all the time pretending to support Johnson's peace efforts. This was intended to thwart any chance of peace in 1968, thereby derailing the Democrat's re-election campaign. This was deeply cynical as well as treachery.
You should also consider what sort of man who was immensely popular and likely to win in 1972, was so paranoid that he authorised the break-in at the DNC.
Nixon achieved much, but he had worrying personality flaws. He resented many people and tellingly had no intimate friends.
He broke the law. Plain and simple. He also admitted that stepping down was for the best.
@@ringo1029384756But he also did it because it was more or less the right call in that situation despite how it played out.
If burning huge numbers of people to death in Japan or things like the Iraq War don’t qualify for being forced to resign then Nixon’s acts definitely don’t.
