Much as Nixon was a capable man, he was guilty of other crimes, not the least of which was his treachery in 1968 when he secretly went behind President Johnson's back to negotiate with the Vietnamese communists, claiming he would offer them a better deal than Johnson, all the time pretending to support Johnson's peace efforts. This was intended to thwart any chance of peace in 1968, thereby derailing the Democrat's re-election campaign. This was deeply cynical as well as treachery.

Kissinger also thought that the current Ukraine War’s natural resolution is that Russia does get the Eastern parts of Ukraine, and you do guarantees that it doesn’t join NATO.
      It’s not that complicated.
Instead it’s being presented as some kind of threat to Europe as a whole… As if Russia has the guts to attack a nuclear alliance.

In 1972, I was old enough at the time to have an informed opinion and a good idea about who to vote for in that election. George McGovern had very little to offer except to run away from Vietnam. Whilst concluding that war was necessary, running was not the answer. Biden did the same thing too with Afghanistan….creating a very unstable world situation afterwards.
