This bro predicted the entire course of the 21st century so far, every speech of him I watch is prophetic in hindsight.
He didn't foresee that there wouldn't be a Soviet union in the 21st century.
@@119beaker well he wasn't an actual psychic, just pretty good at making predictions
@@119beaker Maybe Nixon did foresee the collapse of the USSR. Nixon being an intelligent man, knew when to keep quiet about things. During his presidency, he was negotiating SALT with the USSR. It would have been unwise to walk around beating his chest and saying the USSR will soon collapse. That's something Biden or Obama would do.
It is interesting that Israeli Prime Minister Ben-Gurion gave an interview to LOOK magazine in 1963 and in that interview he said the USSR would cease to exist in 25 years. It dissolved 28 years later in 1991.
@@iranexplained1828 did he foresee: "read my lips", "new world order", "thousand points of light (there were thousand fires in LA - during riots)". Time Magazine (2-face) man of year. Chaos, wars, crime and lawlessness.

@@119beaker he didn’t “predict” anything. He just went to school. Know what school teaches you? That China has always been the strongest economy on this planet solely based on it’s population. Sometimes an innovative technology will come along and disrupt the natural order of things, as seen during the Industrial Revolution, casting any economy who doesn’t enjoy this new innovation into an inferior position to the economy/economies that do.
But then they eventually catch up. This is what Nixon is talking about. He isn’t some sage or prophet: he’s literally explaining basic facts your average American still does not know for some reason.
No notes, no teleprompter, no que cards and no hesitation. Just pure brilliance. Nixon now more than ever!!!

My dad used to say about Nixon: "I can't knock his foreign policy."
Nixon was the president who travelled to China to meet with Mao. He did this to capitalise on the Sino-Soviet estrangement and to distance China even further from the USA's main enemy at the time, the Soviet Union. China was economically and morally devastated by Mao's Cultural Revolution. Mao was therefore prepared to receive Nixon as he had economic aid and the assurance that the USA would give up its veto in the UN in connection with the transfer of Taiwan's role as China's representative to Red China.
Economic aid turned into investment in joint ventures and later direct investment by US investors, followed by investors from other Western countries.
In this respect, there is a certain irony in Nixon's words when he speaks of waking the sleeping giant that Napoleon warned about. Because he stands for the political and geostrategic agenda of the US administration of the time, which woke up the sleeping giant that was lying on the ground with the decisions made at the time. The decision for the current status of Taiwan and all the resulting problems were also made at that time.

Greatest president in modern times! He also said that Ukraine would have to counter an authoritarian Russia.
Ukraine fell to an American backed coup in 2014.
@@yoholmes273 I'm not on the Left, I personally think it's getting time to get Ukraine and Russia back to talking about a Peace Deal, but I very much remember the Maiden, The then Heavyweight Champion was from their, those were ordinary people during that protest, their was no western coup, those were ordinary civilians who took to the streets to counter what they thought was a Rigged or tampered election, their was protesters being sniped and killed Left and right witch only stoked more outrage and more people showed up, I was just out of high school then and kept up with it the best I could for the times, news tracked quick but not like today where stuff is reported minute by minute, those were civilians who protested and ousted that leader and they had a very just reason to do so especially once you start firing on your own people, and like I said I'm not a leftist, I'm an independent, but in this modern day I'd be called a Right Wing extremist by some for well, logical views, or patriotism, it wasnt no coupe they had legitimate reasons to believe that that election was tampered with, but in the end what really sealed his fate was when he ordered Police/Troops to fire on his own people, if he didn't do that who knows, he probably could of quelled the protests or they died out on their own
Ukrainian inferiority complex was an Achilles' heel of Russia since the time nations started to form in late 19th century. Lenin found a way to deal with nationalists and introduced indigenization to calm them. But after WW2 the West enlisted Ukrainian neonazis to fight Russia whilst Ukrainians as a political nation proved to be unable to come up with a state. Persistent Ukrainian corruption is a mark of the Ukrainian disbelief in the possibility of Ukrainian state. That is why they are so instrumental as a weapon against Russia.
@@yoholmes273Yanukovich was voted out by his own party and police force. All of Ukraine wanted him gone, what did he do when he was arrested? Shoot a 100 protestors and flee to his masters in Russia. Never say something that stupid again, worthless human being. Putin always wanted to take Ukraine.
@@yoholmes273Complete nonsense. Ukraine was a pro-Russian banana republic under Yanukovich who held fake elections like Putin. When he was actually voted out, he had protestors shot.
The fact that someone with so much wisdom... Could be so corrupt... Makes me question his wisdom. Till this day is still unbelievable to me.
Imagine the degradation of the Republican Party, from Nixon to Trump
He didn't predict that US foreign policy would push China and Russia together.
No, that level of idiocy is utterly unpredictable.
He was right about China, but he didn't expect his successors to be so dumb...
@@edgepixel8467 you're right, US policy is a climax of idiocy
@@edgepixel8467 It's not idiocy by any means. It's the few profiting from selling out your nations' interest and running your way of life. People in China call them the "white trash" who will do anything in exchange for CCP's money.
China and Russia is have always been a 'Pair' regardless of political ideology (don't forget that that they almost went to with each other over Mongolia and each others diverging political teachings in the 1960s).
Russia very much has to fear China because despite all the sabre rattling against America - China very much covets Russian Eastern border resources and islands such as the Kirillian Islands. It's been hypothesised by military experts that within the next 7/10 years if China can cobble together a proper navy/airforce/army and working equipment (not the load of whale shit they have now) then they will make an attempt to force Russias hand which will leave the West with a question - "Who do we back if ANYONE AT ALL" - WATCH THIS SPACE!!.
Notice that he didn’t rely on notes or a script. He spoke eloquently.
What about: "read my lips", "new world order", "thousand points of light (there were thousand fires in LA - during riots).

Did he rely on notes or a script ?
He is reading it from a autocue, that’s why is head goes all the time into the same position from left to right…

If the president predicted this the world is already preparing how to make the giant go back to sleep before this speech
I'm glad to see these clips showing Nixon's grasp of foreign policy. While he might have been an unlikable person, he knew his stuff when it comes to accurately assessing foreign powers.
No, Russia does not have to be concerned about this anymore! Only the industrial nations dominated by the U.S. are against them now.
Not only Russia
What an elegant way to put neighboring countries against each other
America talking about who we should be concerned about is the prime example of people in glass houses ☠️☠️☠️☠️
Greatest mind than any recent American politician. He understood that America is not simply a nation , but and empire that necesarily has to compete with other arising empires. Not a single politician today with such geopolitical wisdom.
Yet now has a Republican presidential candidate (and former president) running who's dedicated to giving away American hegemony and regional influence to Russia...
The U.S is a nation that helps out other nations who in turn help us out. We don't force them to do our will and they retain their own sovereignty. The U.S does not meet the criteria for an empire, no matter what the Chinese or Russian propagandists say. They are the remaining empires and They're angry because we won't let them enslave other nations.
Why is it so hard for people to grasp this concept?
thanks to the US government for sending them all of our manufacturing jobs.
Thank the Clintons for that one

@khabbad the uni party is the understanding that the democrats and Republicans pretend they are against each other but there are fundamental things they agree on and vote on in common. like support for Israel, etc

He was right, except China isnt about the Soviet Union competition but the USA one, which he fairly enough avoided mentioning 😉
The same thing can be said about India, with that kind of population its going to be relevant superpower in a very short time, and again the one who is gonna suffer the most is the current world leading superpower, the USA
