Iowa isn’t DBU. And despite possessing an intriguing resume, fair stats & a decent film… his journey in particular was made that much tougher by Riley Moss.
Harrison Smith can finally retire😂. Nah be fr this dudes an absolute beast. I think the only reason he’s being considered possibly being safety is because he’s white
Only played him once in high school because of age gap, but as a freshman i knew he was just different. Can't wait to see him in the league but I'd agree he'd most likely be moved to safety.
If you mean college, never went because of money but in high school we only lived 30 mins away from each other so our schools were pretty close. Cherokee, IA but another fun fact about my small IA town is that TJ Hockenson is also from here. Same with another older NFL player and was also my coach in high school Adam Timmerman.@@FallBallSports
@@glencoco959 So BOTH TJ and Coop went to Cherokee?? That is amazing to have 2 incredible athletes come from the same school. There were 2 guys from my school (South Tama) who also went on to be very good at Iowa. Mark Fetter went to Iowa in 1971, and in 1975 Jon Lazar played for the black and gold. He was a phenomenal player and to this day I stay in touch with him. Now I have to figure out who is from Odebolt, because the announcers had a hard time saying the name last week, and I found that hilarious. I don't know why the guy doing this video is talking about him getting drafted this year, he's only a junior.
This guy is the most physically gifted cornerback in this year's draft. There is no reason whatsoever to even think about moving him from any other position except outside number one corner that follows the opposing team's best receiver.
Athleticism is great, but it's not everything (i.e. CJ Henderson). Not saying Dejean is incapable of playing on the outside, but there's a lot more to consider than just his athleticism
@@muddywaters1472 shows how much you know about football, Sehorn was an athletic freak and if he didn't rip up his knee he would have went down in history as the greatest cornerback who ever lived!
The point isn't that he gets beat on that coverage, the point is that he doesn't have much experience playing other types of coverage. He's used to playing with a big cushion, so he hasn't shown press coverage skills, which he will need if he's going to play outside cornerback in the NFL.
I find this funny that this shows up in my recommended after playing a dynasty on ncaa 14 revamped as Iowa and learning how much of a stud he was for me that it is 100% justified is wild.
Iowa pressed a lot more against purdue. I cant recall the wisconsin game. I'm surprised you didnt touch on cooper playing on offense, its been discussed
@@Torpid6441 Only if you can find us a couple dozen offensive players including several decent quarterbacks!! lol. Our special teams kick ass also. Tory Taylor is such an amazing punter. If we don't have a long field, he can make a short punt, and DeJean will be there before they can catch it. If we're deep and need a "leg", he can do it. I can't remember how many punts he's gotten down inside the 10, and with DeJean's speed, he can frequently run that far before the ball gets there and if no play is made on the ball, he and one other player have downed the ball on the one yard line. Tory is from Australia. I'm sorry the other name eludes my brain right now, but it is so cool to see them do that.
WE know how many...it's a shame others don't. There's far too many great athletes that "don't translate well into the pros" that are now firefighters, stock brokers, iron workers, etc...or just dominating on American Ninja Warrior ;-). DEI has been in sports post high school since the 90's...college is a little more fair but the pros- not so much. College Basketball this year though is amazing...but we'll see how the best players are treated come draft time.

If hes there at pick 30 theres no question hes on his way to charm city aka Baltimore ravens are well known to take best player available just like we did in 2022 draft when edc took Kyle Hamilton then trade Hollywood brown to get tyler linderman we didn't need Kyle Hamilton either we had Marcus Williams and chuck Clark and geno stone at safety so if Cooper dejean is there they will take him because Brandon Stevens is be a free agent and Marlon Humphrey is getting older and ravens organization knows how to get best out of a player on defensive if they are not in john harbaugh dog house
He's an amazing cornerback covering the gods and everything like that there's no doubt about it he can cover wide receivers and all that but at 4.5 40 yd dash is not going to keep up with 99% of the wide receivers in the NFL
Damn, I had hopes for him but once you pointed out he never plays press, I now believe he’s gonna get destroyed by double moves or speedsters on short routes in the NFL😂 hope I am wrong
You talk about his ability to bait quarterbacks into throwing bad balls, yet you dont think youre getting fooled too? Your eval is all over the place coach.
I see what you're getting at, but it's a lot different when you can go in and slow down the film and watch it several times rather than have to react in real time. The same way it's easy to see what kind of a pitch someone threw in baseball from the replay, but that same pitch was impossible for the batter to identify in real time🤝
I remembered this video and had to leave comment…NOT a Good RUN defender. Ask Travis Henry in the League in the open field if he is good run defender?!😊
Fools gold. Please GB do not take this boy. There are better CBs. And better S both we can get later in the draft. Jarrian Jones, Cam Hart. James Williams, Jaden Hicks.
Great Breakdown honestly
Appreciate it man!
Breaking the color barriers of the Defensive Backfield. Love to see it

He's one in a million. Just a special athlete.
@@razokmt1520 he’ll be the first in the first round

if he’s always playing that far off in coverage then he’s for sure a Packer
Or a Texan
😂 Joe Barry is terrible

As a Steelers fan I really want him and Porter Jr to become a perfect CB tandem
Loved Porter last year, so pumped to see that he's already developing into one of the league's finest!
You do know he ain’t gone play outside right he mainly a slot/ hybrid safety,

I agree very much with your evaluation. He might sneak into the 1st round if and only if he run a sub 4.5 forty.
Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I bet he doesn't go in the first round, I'd be surprised if scouts aren't scared off by the red flags

Do you like Terrion Arnold more?
Haven't gotten a chance to go in-depth on him yet, but from the limited tape I've seen, I'd say yes. Projects to be much better on the outside imo
solid analysis
Thanks for the support!
This guys a player . Look out. Great video .
Thanks for the support!
He's also only a junior. If he returns for his senior year I can see him being a 1st round pick in 2025.
He is already a first round pick what are u talking about lol. He’s the best CB in the class next to Kool Aid. He won’t go below 15.
If he doesn't work out as a corner he looks like a excellent free safety
What a fuckin' breakdown dawg, keep up the good work!

As an Iowa fan I’m kinda torn because he has helped us do so well so I don’t want him to leave but I also want to see him do well in the NFL
I could see him as an ed reed style of FS
Do you think he play WR too, he has good hands?
I doubt he plays receiver in the NFL, but never say never. Definitely athletic enough!
Cooper could go money i also could see him play his senior year he seem to love just playing
Definitely could be a pro bowl safety if developed right.
As an iowa fan. I would love it. But no. I don't think he will run well enough. I think he'll be a slot corner.
Same here. Rooting for him hard, but I have some concerns
Refs robbed him of a td punt return for the win today in week 8. B.S. call and ref should be fired
Free safety
3rd round pick, backup corner, 7 yrs as punt returner.. then gone...better than the psu kid...
Lol 3rd round . He is a 1st round pick
1st round bust.. or fans from iowa. ur as good as the people you play aginst.. hes got a gmae coming up against m&b.. will see.@@michaelwarren875
I said 3rd rounder too. I don’t see 1st round in his game. 4.5-4.6 speed is what I see on tape.
Team fit: Saints
(as much as it pains me to say as a Panthers fan 😂)
Is he better than Reily moss?
Welcome to Philly!
I can see him being a solid slot corner
Yep me too. I'm skeptical about him on the outside tho
Your opinion doesnt mean s*it son. His "negatives" are wiped out by so many positives. He still has another year to play. He is an incredible athlete.
Idk I think he moves to Safety in the pros
Jason Seahorn 2.0 wow now go find the next Larry Zonka and the Next Steve Largent hes good throw fr fr

@FallBallSports oh man did he get jobbed today. Figured out how to steal another game and the replay booth stole it from him. Wow
Knowing the nfl he’ll be a slot receiver and shit 💯
..... plays defense.

he should be playing offense
The NFL better not make him a safety!

Haven't gotten in-depth on his tape yet, but I'll get to it at some point. Stay tuned!
I dont he him locking guys down but i think hes a ballhawk
Why is he almost as far back as the safety? He’ll most likely transition to safety.
I believe he can be a slot cornerback.
He has a little Polumalu movement in his stride~
he needs to move to free safety corner would be wasting his skills
Is he a cornerback or a strong safety / weakside linebacker??? 6'1 210 pounds could someday be 6'1 222 pounds with 4.45 speed. 4 down player.
Not sure his skillset is conducive with that of a weakside LB/SS. Still think slot corner would be a better fit
Future Steeler
He has Jonathan Gannon All Over Him, hope the cardinals can draft him 😭
Yeah they certainly need the help in the secondary
Please stay undrafted until the buccaneers pick
i'd like him at safety in green bay. no interest in putting him outside.
3rd rounder

He’ll run a 4.5-4.6. I don’t see 4.4 speed on his tape. 3rd round.
I agree. Might end up being a workout warrior (has good combine numbers) but I just don't see that widely regarded "elite" speed that heavily on tape
Where does this “-1’” shit come from?
"CB1" = "Cornerback #1", AKA the top cornerback in the class
I love Cooper ❤️ but if he is smart enough he'll stay.
