Because of my specific life situation, I’ve hated football my entire life until this year, and I’ve made Gibbs my favorite player ever since my girlfriend who passed away, was named Gibbs and all this happened before I knew anything about him as a human. I already started crying. I’m not 7% through so I downloaded it for another day. I just can’t take it right now. I’m too emotional. I cannot take it. This is God. God is good all the time. I think the hardships is what initially bonded him and David Montgomery so deeply. You can tell they care about each other on a personal level and I think some of that comes from understanding and similar life experiences
I love Gibbs and everything about this Lions team. Crazy that his favorite player growing up was Barry Sanders, and now here he is in a Lions uniform looking like Barry Sanders. I hope the momentum can continue when Ben Johnson decides to leave.

He is very creative in play calling but he's just.one small part of why the Lions are so good. I just don't want him to go coach the Bears, if he does, I hope he falls on his face and regrets it

@@sharifnasser7635 they could, I don't think there is a limit. It just depends on what he wants. Maybe he wants to a head coach and it's not even about the money but that's a question you would have to ask Sheila. I like Ben Johnson but I don't think the offense needs him to be good.

The funnest part about watching these highlights of big plays, are the blocks down field. Such a selfless team.
The lions front office has the ability to draft immediate impact star players like I’ve never seen in my life. Just look at their picks the last few years. Just amazing and it tops any other team.

Ya it’s incredibly impressive. A lot of those picks were highly criticized at the time, including taking Gibbs so early. I’m not a big Goff fan, but they have built a team culture unlike anything I’ve seen before. Everyone is giving 100% effort. WRs making important blocks and players not giving up on plays. Growing up in the suburbs of Detroit, the team represents the city very well. I’m not a Goff fan, but even he has stepped up. Let’s not even mention where they found Jake Bates.

Great player. Reminds so much of Marcus Allen. His speed and acceleration, ability to turn the corner, and catch the ball outta the backfield. Hope he has a long, healthy career, and we see him in HOF someday.

All 4 of those Lions first picks in 2023 are full blown studs and among the best in the league at their positions now. BB might legitimately be the best safety in the league, Jack Campbell is quietly dominating and a rock at LB for the Lions and while Sam LaPorta is statistically "slumping" this year, it's not his play it's being on a team chock full of weapons. Sam LaPorta couldn't possibly be more a complete TE or a better human being for that matter, and of course Jahmyr Gibbs... he's splitting carries with DMo and is still having a year many RBs would be jealous of. I can't say Gibbs is the "best" RB in the league because the years people like Saquon are having but if I was building a team from scratch to win next year Gibbs would, hands down, be my pick for RB1.

As of today, Gibbs has 973yds rushing while splitting the backfield and averaging a mindblowing 6yds per carry with 10tds. If you know football, you know how insane that is.

Mark my words, Jahmyr Gibbs is just different, and so he will be the next Barry Sanders. I know that he and David Montgomery have an ongoing friendly rivalry. But, once Gibbs finds his stride, he will the next Barry Sanders. And, it just warms my heart that Sanders is his favorite former Lions player, God bless. 🙏🏽💯

Lions still had Swift when they picked him too. I think critics looked at them as the same type of player so it filled no needs at all, but then we traded Swift. I still think they would have hated the pick, but maybe not as much.
well that was just a technicality - Swift did not have the most important ability - availability - he had played out his entry contract and was up for a new contract - and it was pretty obvious the lions were not going to sign him to a long term deal. If I remember - just a couple days after the draft the lions traded Swift's rights to the eagles . At the time Gibbs was selected no one with any knowledge of the team thought Swift was going to be staying a lion .
