As a friend of mine said, “I’ve never yelled behind as much in this game, it’s great.” And I agree! Rom-en is so cool and I’m really excited to see tournaments on it!
@@Ouch.3 The big question: Is the soup in the bowl actually eaten by anyone? They confirmed that squid ink ramen is a delicacy in universe, would it be adding some to it if you zipcaster recalled up there? I MUST KNOWWWWW
Something I love about both new maps is how much they play around with letting you make jumps thanks to the Tower in TC! It makes the mode feel a lot more fun to me with how many different places you can get to now with it
This was the first time I overanalysed a map immediately after seeing it, but like I KNEW this map was gonna be pretty good. I feel like this map will be decently good for brushes, roller and maybe tent because of those tunnels having no jumps or ledges to take, making a decent flank for all 3 types.
The "tunnels" are the BEST thing ever because I love putting beacons under them and the enemy team almost never notices them and I can sneak them from behind on splatozones ect.
A way to make Wahoo interesting is to give it cannons, one near each spawn, and maybe one in the middle. Getting long rails that cover a good portion of the map would also be fun, and add to the amusement park theme. Basically, do what baby park did and crank the chaos up to 11.
Soooo, with this season's stages + the Drizzle Season stages + the Mahi Rework, is it safe to say the devs CAN make good or decent stages. Or do we need more future stages/reworks to solidify this claim?
they really need to focus on reworks at this point, even with the new stages, it feels like a good 70% of the maps are still borderline unplayable. hammerhead, umami, barnacle, brinewater, mincemeat, wahoo, eeltail, undertow and scorch NEED to be reworked so badly it’s not even funny
@@Fridgemastersbarnacle wahoo and undertow are fine (they could use modifications but they’re not desperate for them) but the rest yeah 100% they need to be modified. Scorch zones is outright disgusting to play on.
im so glad to see this upward trend towards giving stages their original flare back, compared to the incredibly sanitized stages we dealt with at launch, this just makes me hope they do more stage revisions with this newer design philosophy in mind
3:37 For Me, I really like this wall since this so much better to flank instead going so far to the other side. I also like using this flank when the enemy is pushing and hit them with Splashdown to give them a surprise attack.
4:15 i like the amount of options here where even when attackers take the tower under the trench you can still shoot them through the grates, that tiny detail is just incredible to me for some reason.
I tried playing a roller on this the other day and it feels so much fun, especially just painting the lower routes around mid. I'm finally starting to like my carbon again. Thank you, my beloved ramen shop
I was playing with the new dulies and found that if you use splash down before you die the hands still fall and hit the ground and when you come back you get to keep your special bar half charged.-love your vids
@@maplemiles3381 They just did reeflux dirty in every way, buffs exist for a reason I dont hate the season because of it, It’s just one thing that I feel like could be better
I feel like it's the urchin underpass of splatoon 3 mixed with goby arena and that fitness area form splatoon 2, if I'm correct it has some flank routes, the lower areas also provide some space, every ranked mode on this I can vibe with... but tower control is where I have to talk to someone at.
Even though rainmaker isn't as amazing as the other modes, I think it only needs small changes to be good. Maybe push the left check back a tiny bit and raise the height on the platform to the left of it, or make that snipe area rainmaker-free, and it's instantly as good as the others
I love the tunnel!!! This map feels like a Splatoon 1 map almost. The trench is worthy being called a "gimmick" that we are all after. Think Zones and Tower will probably be the most fun on this map for me
My friend and I found the right side flank about 15 minutes into the launch of the season. We were playing the maps in 1v1. I launched towards it and ended up completely catching him off guard.
I went into this stage completely blind and was blown away with how many flanks and movement options there were! It made those 3 minutes of turf feel like a marathon, in a good way! It stole the show for the season for me!
This update was fine...my only problem with it was the music...idk man, i kinda think they shouldn't have added No Quarters by Chippy Chips in the game...cuz its such a MASSIVE BOP it distracts me from the game and just makes me wanna bob my head to the rhythm, messing up my gyro controls XD
It's nice to have flank routes in the game again. I had to get used to people being able to actually sneak up behind me and having to force myself to actually make sure I'm checking all my sides for what's going on. That said, it was refreshing more than frustrating, and as a Stamper main makes me realize I can be devious with flank route too.
It’s funny how in Sizzle Season, they relearnt how to make stages that are at least playable, in Drizzle Season they remembered how to make stages that are actually good/great and now in Chill Season they relearnt how to make good/great WITH good and memorable gimmicks (Tunnel on Ramen and elevators and dual mid on Bluefin)
I'd say rainmaker on Robo ROM-en is the best in my opinion because when u get to the checkpoint on the left side, it more easy to get to the goal from that point 'cause when u have the rainmaker, it's more easy alert for the opposing team
it's funny, I actually thought that this looked a lot like Mussel forge when I first saw it. Glad I wasn't the only one that thought that. This is definately one of my favourite maps in the game. Don't know if I like it more than Shipshape, I need to spend more time on it first
Obligatory "this map reminds me of that ARMS character they put in Smash" comment. And this stage is the best. . .just like Min Min (in ARMS and in Smash).
this map feels to me like if you took all the best parts of reef, musselforge and saltspray and smashed them together (the flanks in particular are what remind me of saltspray)
It's an okay map, Mid feel cramp with the wall as my main problem, it feels as though you are next to a wall irl as limited space, that opponent could easily take advantage of.
This stage isn't only good from a game design perspective, the setting is super fun and memorable! The stage has a lot of personality and I feel like many other s3 stages, especially the ones at launch, have been lacking in that department. Not only are the devs getting better at designing, they're getting better at creating "fun" maps (I think shipshape and crableg are super cool!! And I like Barnacle a lot too). Though I do think the better game design helps a lot as well, I think Brinewater is really pretty but it's very overshadowed by how awful the map is lmao.
Admittedly I'm not really a fan of RoboROMen. Admittedly that's mostly because I'm salty from the fact that I got absolutely obliterated my first time playing through and I'm not really sure why. Although my guess is that being a new-ish player (I only started playing splatoon with 3) and never having actually met a serious flank route threw me for a loop.
I noticed after playing eliter on rain it's veryyy easy to snipe people from across the map on the raised platforms and also very easy to camp their spawn... 😅
I think it's really funny how most other people seem to like this stage but even with the tunnel, my random teams always end up trapped in spawn. Like. I can't tell what we're really doing wrong in it, or if I'm just going against teams hanging out together in VC. (note: i mostly just play turf)
Honestly ramen immediately felt really good to me but bluefin first looked amazing and i do think its a great map but i personally struggle a lot with it on zones I'm a pretty fresh baked S+ player maining shot and ttek I've mostly found ttek to be more successful since strike helps retaking but i still struggle a lot because of the big drop and how much advantage long range weapons have against me Soo i definitely feel like its a skill issue and not fault of the map... anyway if anyone has tips pls give me all of em
I love zones as a carbon 😭 what I do is leave spawn to the enemy sid, then I on go on the ramp and camp camp camp anyone that tries to leave spawn and Arizona anyone when the zone is theirs since it’s just one zone
I was shocked the first time I found the trench flank; it definitely shows how far the devs have come in terms of map design

Just a little cool touch and even flank to the stage, you can use your zipcaster to the big ramen bowl. This stage is one of the best in my opinion!
Omg I haven't tried zip on this stage yet I need to try this

If the map design stays that this quality alongside map reworks with the same quality the rest of second year of splatoon 3 is looking really good
