It takes time to practice, learn new skills, and master them. We had the theory before we just needed the execution. Who knows, maybe some of the low tier weapons are actually underrated and just need more time to shine in the meta.

Just some ones I’ve thought up include Splash gets countered by vtent Heavy Deco gets countered by Light Tetras Slosher Deco counters E-Liter Starting at splash anyway, it could be imagined as one giant chain of countering one another. At least on paper- since some weapon’s functions don’t play out how the devs expect them to, patches are meant to fix up those weapons so that the chain can reassemble itself. If one link is broken, the prior weapon essentially becomes meta since there’s no hard counter pick. If that makes any sense

I fully expected a charger that fires at the speed of a Bamboozler but with the range of a Splatterscope to become a dominance that would haunt the dreams of many. I turned out to be wrong, but a few months later I turned out to be wrong about being wrong.
When it dropped, I thought the main was pretty good but just needed another kit. When it got the buffs to the main and sub/special, I was still curious where its useage was. Little did I know that it was lurking in the shadows
Snipewriter’s glow up has been really cool to see; especially for a weapon with such cool design! A pencil charger that has five shots and is based around mobility… really great stuff!

One of the reasons I like Cooler Meta far more than Crab Meta is that while playing Crab Meta optimally meant having at least 2 different crabs on your team, with Cooler you only ever need 1 on your team, making team composition much more interesting as you have 3 different slots to use for whatever weapons you want, not to mention there being several cooler options as opposed to Crab requiring Splash and that kinda being it.
Something I think went way too unnoticed about this video is how Chara calls it "pencil" the whole video until the very last sentence where he finally rewards it by calling it its actual name, Snipewriter, and it feels kinda triumphant in a way like you had to see the video the very end to hear it referred to proper and I feel like he knew the whole time.
I always knew from the start the kit was good for snipe writer, just bcs cooler was a bad special at the time didnt mean it was a bad kit for snipewriter. I remember people saying like this is the most trash kit ever, but i got hooked on it right at the start, and i still love to use it today
Hold on, I've never seen that animation of an inkling counting their fingers before (1:25). Whether the animation is unused or completely fanmade, it's incredible someone went this far just to make a five second clip for a UA-cam video. That's some insane dedication right there. Edit: Apparently it's an animation that plays for characters near the tableturf desk, but my point still stands that I'm impressed someone must have modded the game in order for this animation to play in the center of Splatsville, where it would usually never play.
Honestly not much changed about the weapon aside from a slight damage buff and a tacticooler buff, I think it was just the change in the playerbase and meta and Snipewriter got caught in the middle of it.

The editing and display of information has gotten so incredibly good! You really need to pat that person on the back (and / or give them a raise). I also love how the ad featured Splatoon images that fit perfectly and made me smile.
I think that the discovery/popularization of snipewriter's zone cheese at around the same time the cooler meta was beginning its theory crafting was a really important coincidence for the weapon. It didn't effect how the weapon worked, but it did make people try it, to prove it can work, which is always something really important for large meta shifts like this. Glad to see balance done so well and read so quickly by top players!
In a game like this, the goal is always to make every weapon a viable option, as well as to fit as many playstyles as possible. Splatoon 3 is slowly getting there.
Dude, I truly can't put into words how insane time has passed. The metagame has never been so fun! I may remember the splatoon scene from the cursed days of GQ... But it's amazing to see you and other players thriving. I hope the community remains as a place for positive interactions.
i think its important to add that better strafe speed also helps it take more aggressive positions, because its better able to move away from threats and react
I tried it out since it came out, painted really good but not until did i really ran it in ranked did i see how really fun it was to be the one person keeping the team at mid
I will say, I normally am not a fan of sponsorship ads . . . but chara managed to do it in a way that actually made me want to watch it? Using the splatoon clips/animations in the background is a really neat idea, kudos!
Splatoon 3 is peak Balancing because, instead of overnerfing something good, they buff things that counter it, making not only a healthy meta but more weapons viable as time goes on. S3 could be peak Splatoon too, but we need better matchmaking, connection and kits. I'm glad maps and balancing are gladly improving over time, I'm sure this and Side Order being near it's finishing stage are correlated in some way or another. Things will get better from now onwards, I'm calling it.

I started maining snipewriter when it started to become meta (and I was oblivious to it at the time), I thought its playstyle was really fun and the weapon's design is overall really cool
Now pencil is really good but they could make it even better if they merge it with goo tuber, perhaps they’d have to reduce the range to slightly less than unscoped charger but it would be literally perfect for both weapons, this would be goo’s saving grace and also making pencil even better
I always loved Snipewriter and was really disappointed by how bad it was in the beginning. I love how it's risen and perhaps we can see something very interesting with the Snipewriter 5H Nouveau (I think that's what it will be called).

Playing Pencil on Mincemeat Zones is really good after a couple of rounds with it I was able to get 8-9 coolers with like 20K/A. It is definitely funny looking back and seeing how this weapon did a complete 180

It's kinda based around mobility in some ways, but there's also the fact that it can't store charges when swimming.
