I was wondering how long it would take for someone to start using the 3 cylinder from the GR Corolla. I thought it'd be a cool swap for an AE86 as well. It's definitely different, and I surely didn't expect to see it in a 510. Totally awesome 👌 👏
Japanese cars designed in late 60s, 70s and even 80s are just awesome, full of character. This Datsun 510 is a 55 years old design and looks relevant and ageless...
As a 510 owner glad to see work and Shops like this keeping these cars fresh! Daddy motor works is goin crazy over there with the swaps. That’s his thing and he’s pushin it hard!
Loved the solution for the AC. I have an '85 Volvo 245T Wagon that in it's history someone removed the AC bc "Race Car"(?). So I can appreciate the person wanting to put AC into a car
Seems like a really great engine that has a lot of viability for swaps. Ryan Tuerks Corolla project is another example in progress at the moment I've been really enjoying following.
it actually has me shocked that Toyota hasn't slapped two of these together to make an absolute MONSTEROUS 3.2L successor to the 2JZ. They could also plop the six in their Trucks/SUVs to defray development cost. Aston Martin did great for years with essentially a double Ford Taurus engine v12. a "G32" toyota six would absolutely rule everything.
Oh, i didn't know Toyota did an NA G16E swap to an AE86. I wonder what the power figures it gets without all that boost. --- That engine bay is looking so good and clean (That bronze is perfect). It really does look like it belong in there if you don't know it's a swap. ---- ..and a Nissan Titan?! A full-size pickup in Japan?!
@@dino_dcsoooo, the Lexus LC concept & Toyota Celica concept if they make it into production, do you think they'll be powered by a 2.0 I4 version of the G16E-GTS? If that's the case I can't wait to see what he puts one of those into... an SW20?
The guys that buy these, they figure they have $50K, $100K, or cost no object I suppose, to build their custom dream car and then they go find a shop to do it? Do they also have Ferraris and Porsches but the old Nissan is sentimental? How does something like this come together? I'm trying to equate it to what someone would build/have built in the US.

He was the first to swap it into an AE86 2 years back
Ryan teurck is building a g16 swap celica gtfour here in the northeast US. The build is awesome. I love watching this.
@@greenmonstah8753 larry chen made a video on a team which is building a gr86 with the gr corolla driveline as an homage to the celica

Thank you for covering this unique little shops all over the world. The community needs more of this stuff!

Oto San called his shop called Daddy Motors... Haha! I love the cute Japanese sense of humour there!
As a 510 owner glad to see work and Shops like this keeping these cars fresh! Daddy motor works is goin crazy over there with the swaps. That’s his thing and he’s pushin it hard!
Thanks Dino. Amazing video! Keep going.
Thanks, will do!
Fabrication is work of art. Wow 👌 😮
Dino ! Thank you for the content, you're my go to channel on Sundays mornings here on the east coast USA. Keep it coming.
Happy to hear that, and you got it!
The guys in Japan can do anything they set their mind to, I’d love to have a EK9 with the steering changed to left hand drive with a K swap
Love it, what a swap, soundy meaty too, great vid thanks.
Cheers from Australia
Thanks 👍
That's incredible. what a skillful builder.
First, this is a really cool build. Second, a Nissan Titan! I was always under the misapprehension that Nissan only sold that in North America. Neat!
They did, there’s many shops in Japan that sell USDM cars in Japan and they are pretty straightforward to register
Greetings from Tokyo 🗼😊❤
I finally moved here after 4 years in Korea and 1 year back in America 😊
Nice! Welcome to Japan

Absolutely amazing work by Oto-san 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Not what I expected when I woke up. So much better than what I could have predicted. Sic. Thanks Dino.
Glad you enjoyed it!

After watching your shop tour videos I grab a wrench and head to the garage. Always inspiring!!
That is awesome!
Dino da GOAT 🐐
Such a clean swap wow but that Navarra CrewCab tho lets see that too 😍
AE86 sounds sick 🔥 those 3 Cylinders are amazing
This is my new favorite garage. 🔥 🔥. Japan fabrication shop 👍
Nice! Amazing video. Wish one day I can have a G16E in my AE86. 🤘🏼😎
Damn, these are so cool! Nice vid
Cheers Dino! 👍💪✌
This is my dream. Love this powerplant. I want to put the drivetrain in my 97 tercel.
Thanks for posting think of doing the same style AC system on my 1986 Civic E-AT
What's up, dino!? Love the video, men👍😊
Hey, thanks!🙏
Some gorgeous work right there ✌️💜💙
Another amazing video
Crazy impressive builds!
Ferrari swapped Miata, VQ Starion, the 510 in the video, what can’t this madman do? Definitely need regular visits to Daddy Motor Works.
Oh for sure!! Need to stop by regularly as you never know what he’s got coming up next lol
belter this one dino lad liken it bro 🤛🏻🔥💯💪🏻
Thanks 🙏
Amazing builds!
Please try to follow that Starion project!
Wasn't crazy about how the 510 sounds
But that AE86 sounds ridiculous!!
Glorious!
Fantastic.
The only "negative" is the open air filter, instead of a custom airbox
I'd love to see someone put this in a Roadster
That must be so good for weight distribution. I would love to drive the AE86 to see the difference from 4AGE
Best shop name ever! 😂
fantastic!
The Walt-Disney Studios punch set tho 👀
Would like to swap this into my 1974 Corolla 😎🙏

Would be cool!
Just had to look at the thumbnail and immediately thought of Daddy Motorworks
All that work underneath! Man you would hate it if you accidentally drove over something 😮

Dino does it worth if I able to travel just to visit speedshops around Japan, and driving on shutoko highway?
Yes if that’s what you’re out to do?
@@dino_dc i mean not travel like other tourist usually visits normally
5:31 is that a pun?! D:
holy fuck a VQ swapped Starion, I would love to see that (and also own it lol)!
Someone should swap this engine into a miata
Will happen sooner or later for sure
Come to las Vegas in a real extremely hot day 120•
Pass
if he can do all that and not gouge the brand new interior he could manual swap that yellow 964 for you and not tear up its interior
I’ve asked him, doesn’t wanna touch German cars 😂
Well at least he didn't put a Tesla motor in it 😅. Joking aside this car is the result of amazing thought and execution, and so is the video 👍
EV conversions are very rare in Japan. Glad you liked this one 👍🏻

I just looked at the price of one of these engines and they want £20,000 in the UK lmao
Just under half that in Japan
@@dino_dc I should setup my own business, fancy shipping me some over 😂
wow, that is hot. why is japan so hot!?
Japan summers are insanely hot and humid, tropical like
I don’t understand how they find those engines…
The G16? You can buy it from your local Toyota dealer
great video, but i feel japan is the most low tech country in asia. its 30 years behind china, 20 years behind taiwan and korea
High tech for some things, incredibly low tech for so many others.
@dino_dc yeah as a japanese I do feel shamed at how we stopped developing, it is against our philosophy
I wouldn't use that engine. It's junk
How’s so?
