You know what you should do every time you visit somewhere in Japan, at the beginning of the video post map of Japan with a pin or a mark where it is located. That would be cool 😎 ❤❤
Japanese culture has such amazing dedication to detail and craftsmanship, everything from baking sourdough bread (i live watching those vids) to fully rebuilding JDM classics!!!
25:56 That is just the most beautiful sight. My jaw dropped to the floor. It is unbelievable that there is a shop that goes so far and beyond. Keeping history alive for sure!
If they are doing a total restore, chassis and drivetrain - Yes, reset the ODO to 0. Just document the ODO prior to rebuild in paperwork w/pictures and build process.
The cycle of time is funny, back in the day saving a rusted out bucket was laughed at taken on only by the most dedicated savages. Now we are taken aback and revere these efforts. Love the coverage of these places we wouldn’t see otherwise. Good shyt Dino.
Wow! These guys take the cars to the bare bones.. Nothing like seeing jdm icons being restored into absolute awesomeness. Some of the inner/deep rust on these cars makes one really consider the purchase of a jdm import. But thankfully Garage Yoshida exist! Thank you so much for doing these kind of videos.
Seeing Larry's videos on Garage Yoshida and his R34 now through your lens, just👌🏻👌🏻 as always love the cinematics and music 👌🏻 that black R34 at the was soooo nice!
Love to see these kinda shops, the amount of care and attention they put into their work is second to none. I bet they dont come cheap either. Thanks for the tour Dino
It is just crazy how fast and meticulously they can restore/rebuild the GTR's. I bet Yoshida can disassemble any GTR model while sleepwalking. The endresult is just stunning and really worthy to be compared to a car right out of the factory. Thanks for giving us a look into his process and garage!
Great video! Thank you! Between you and Larry's coverage on Garage Yoshida I love seeing this husband and wife team doing what they do to preserve these cars. Can tell the experience is there as the shop seems laid out well and methodical in their process. Hope the next generation that works there or current ones that do keep this going and possibly branch off to preserve other Japanese classic cars.
Great video. It is quite comforting knowing companies like Garage Yoshida exist, with such amazing knowledge and talent helping keep the classic GTR dream alive. I think restoration companies like this will continue to do well for a long time as new cars are somewhat boring by comparison to the 90s turbo classics.
Garage Yoshida is mind boggling to me. I am glad that there are people in this world that are so absolutely dedicated to their crafts. I wish I could afford an R34 to send to Mr. Yoshida for full restoration. lol
I wouldn't consider Garage Yoshida to be building new GT-Rs. But rather restoring old GT-Rs back to showroom quality. Hopefully one day we'll have companies that can buy the actual licenses from the manufacturers to remanufacture and sell the body, body parts, chassis & drivetrains of desired JDM sports cars. Similar to how many American manufactures are giving licenses to companies to remanufacture the most desired vintage muscle cars
Very strong possibility that might be a reality sooner then we think. There's a great video from Taiwan showing these brand-new muscle car/VW bodies being assembled and it's truly remarkable. A perfect clone. The guys at Graveyard cars also assembled a Cuda completely from a catalog book. Not kidding. Ordered all the pieces and spot welded it all together. There's a local shop by me that builds brand new 66 mustangs. Brand new shell with modern components. They look OE and are licensed by Ford. Superformance is doing the same for the old 60 Shelby Cobras and are licensed by Shelby performance. If you been following social media, a company in China just reverse engineered a brand new AE86 Unibody. The future is definitely bright.
Nah Japanese Makers would charge insane amounts of money for the licenses that no one would want to pay because 1. the upfront investment and 2. time to recoup the initial investment and make profit. The only option I can see is China doing China things like with the new AE86 Chassis that have been making the rounds recently. Just the other day I purchased a brand new set of fog lights and headlights for my JZX100 Chaser from, you guessed it, Aliexpress. The times where everything made in China is absolute crap are over.
Such an awesome process, I love that there are still shops out there so devoted to bringing gems back to life, not just the Skyline family. Thanks for this one Dino!
It was amazing to see Larry's build video he did. I could see that if someone was wanting a GTR this would be the best place to get one from/done by. That red on that R32 body was gorgeous.
Great video As someone hugely passionate about automotive restoration, its these type of videos that truly excite me. Love seeing these GTRs taken completely apart and restored with better paint materials then what it came from the factory. Unfortunately the reality is when these cars were built and assembled/painted over 30+ years ago Nissan didn't imagine this would be the car most people would collect today. Else better approaches would have been thought out. Doesn't matter. The future is bright and modern reverse engineering technology and guys like Garage Yoshida, these cars are now being built much better than the factory did in the 90s. It's the same evolution like the classic muscle cars. From a far, they were great but as you approached it closer. Door gaps were horrible, panel fitment was terrible, ride quality was not the greatest, etc. We are now entering the evolution of the OEM+ and its super exciting. Btw, I just did the Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion and 40 degrees that is 104!😳Stay hydrated my friend. Cheers
Indeed, we are living in an awesome time where true craftsmen and artisans are able to bring our favorite cars back to life and in better condition than when they rolled off the factory floor. Unfortunately by the time the R34/BNR34 came to be Nissan was in such dire financial state that so much cost cutting was done, and we're seeing the ramifications of that cutting costs today.
Production values on these videos are fantastic. It's so good to see somewhere like Garage Yoshida and the super high quality work they are doing getting a behind the veil view. I'm really enjoying the stories you are telling. Thank you for opening my eyes to a world I wouldn't have otherwise seen
Fully agree. Dino, the production value, music, your storytelling and your wealth of knowledge is for me a perfect combo. It makes your videos something we look forward to. It really feels like we've been on a trip every time we've watched one of your clips. Thanks for sharing it
legitimately “better than factory”. I encourage anyone that found this video interesting to check out Larry Chen’s videos about having his own car restored here. Just more depth to add to the great information Dino has here ❤️
What an incredible factory and family. Amazing work they do truly masters of the trade. I think yes, reset the odometer if everything is being restored.
Another top quality video mate and appreciate the open/honest and full-access by Yoshida-san and team! And for me, if a complete rebuild (total overhaul) is carried out, I'm in support of zeroing the odometer but I would notate the reading up until then for historical purposes. 👌
What a cool shop. When I was little, and the bubble was just about to burst, I remember hearing how restoring old Japanese steel wasn't even a thing and you would just get something new. It's interesting to see that change. You never want to forced into a Cuba-like situation but is it always cool to see older cars being properly respected. ED- just had a thought. If you ever feel like doing something kinda out of character for the channel, specifically like going to an amusement park with the fam and OF COURSE there would have to be a big parking lot walkthrough but also the whole park experience
So awesome content. How I getting older, JDM completely overwhelmed me. I am so in love with japanese cars. Subaru, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota, Mazda, Honda...all of it. Japan is so magical country and it is really noticible from each JDM car. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I had a R34 GTT in the states, I miss it very much. Im hessitent to pay over 6 figs for a classic Japanese cars because of rust. I am actually going with this shop in the coming years in building my dream r34GTRRB30 build fully restored.
Yoshida restored our low grade R33, straight from the auction, to him, then shipped to us in Aus. Bout 200k in the end on a 33 MNP N1, car purchased, restored and landed, inspected, registered and insured. Cost breakdown: 22k for the car with 130k on it, more rust than expected, needing interior repaired after a window was smashed when it was stored outside in a lot in the city for 5 years. 160k with Yoshida, repair, respray, new interior redone in OG N1 spec Black alcantra. The remaining 18k: Shipped and taxed to AUS: 12k in order to go down and pick the car up. Then took it for roadworthy and compliancing, vin inspection, etc, that was 1400. Registration for 1 year was 900. 2.2k for a a YEAR of comprehensive insurance for a current agreed value of 170k on the market in Australia. The remainder was tow truck, etc back and forth in both countries. Genuine MNP R33 GTR N1, all HKS items on the car removed and replaced with OG and NOS NISMO items. HKS turbo kit, strut braces, exhaust, seats, steering wheel, all sold to pay for a set of original LMGT1's. I have done 1200km with it since it landed here two years ago. Current agreed value through shannons is 170k if I drive it. 210k if it is displayed only.
What's funny is that 4 door R34 is Okubo Factory's car they were working on the car since Yoshida let them use his jig for the new strut tower install. Okubo Factory is another great Skyline shop.
Yes absolutely massive! Probably 10 times the size of most shops in the the Tokyo area. If they didn't have the space they wouldn't be able to do half the work they do and have so many builds going at the same time.
its always amazing seeing a video on how garage yoshida do their thing with restoring GTR's. i'm wondering if Dino would consider having his R34 restored as well
If there are issues that need to be addressed, definitely. Sort of makes me wonder now what's happening under my struts and along the sills! I have nightmares about this stuff haha

Sick idea 😎
Just Google it. Don't be lazy.
How about you doing your own research
6 months is just insanely fast for this amount and this quality of work.
No it really isn’t. Had mine done in 2 months at a local shop. Mine was a ground up as well.
@@Thecanadianseige69gonna go ahead and say they had fucking nothing happening if that’s the case mate.
@@Star.Chaser they have an average of 10-15 cars in at a time.
