    So many old cases ended up as cars driving off the road into a lake. The idea of those corpses slowly rotting down there, unknown, unburied. So sad.

      @@BinkyTheGoddessDivine Yeah, I've always thought that. Remember the four teens on their way to a football game who went off the road in the 1970s. The mother never moved from the house desperately hoping. Then a few years after she finally died they found the car and the bodies. Breaks my heart. Tragic on so many levels. edition.cnn.com/2014/10/23/us/us-b-foss-lake-mystery-solved/index.html

      Not only that but living right there and then finding out there's been a body in the water directly behind your house! Imagine having been fishing there all those years. I'm glad their families have some closure now.

    • @Martial-Mat
      @Martial-Mat 5 років тому +49

      @@TinFoilCat90 I think the likelihood of there being bodies in any particular lake is pretty tiny, and we are surrounded by the bodies of the dead anywhere you go. In fact, right this second you are probably inhaling the atoms of many dead people. But I totally agree - the sense of being trapped in the cold and dark, with that inevitability. That's certainly why I am reluctant to go to sea. The Titanic deaths must have been horrific.

    • @Martial-Mat
      @Martial-Mat 5 років тому +43

      @@MamaPinks Yes, you kind of expect that the families assumed death after years, but the closure must kind of help I guess. Very bittersweet. That said, an acquaintance of mine who lost her son said "Closure is for bank accounts not heart accounts." If I had a child abducted and the body was finally found, I can't imagine the closure would be much comfort. Losing people to disappearance must be the most excruciating form of emotional torture.

      Child (Sexual) Trafficking, Selling of Children for Adoption and, Kidnappings-for-Hire are still extremely common in those parts of Eastern Europe 'til this Day. Hell, such things were still pretty common in Western Europe. Especially, where I was growing up in Ulaidh de réigiúin mhárta-teorainneacha
      during the Troubles in the 70's-80's. It is part of the reason why I emigrated here to the U.S. in 1988 along with my little sisters. Not to mention the constant border violence.

    Every detail of the part about Yulia's reunion with her biological parents was so wholesome and made me so happy, and they just kept coming! The being sure at first sight, the conversation until 3am when they first met, and then finally the daily good morning text! Unless they were/are abusive, don't take your parents for granted people, send them a good morning text (or to your kids if you're a parent). There will come a day when you may look back and regret not showing enough affection to your parents, but I doubt you'll ever say you did it too much!

Did they maybe drug her too since she didn't know she was taken and seemed to have no memory of her father fighting them off? Assuming that is how he got blood on him. Unfortunately they may never know what all happened but fortunately she is alive unlike many other abducted children.

      I think he fought for his daughter though? A fight ending with him knocked out from being hit in the head would explain the blood on his clothes, and concussions (aka traumatic brain injury) are known to cause memory loss of time before and after the trauma. Admittedly the alcohol probably didn’t help with trying to win the fight though. :/

      I don't think they thought anything could be wrong. She was with family, they were busy. If the cousins hadn't called they probably wouldn't have realized she was missing until it was time for her to return. I bet the cousins only called because they wanted to express how offended they were at the rudeness of her non-appearance.
      Also keep in mind long distance "calling" was not as ubiquitous a habit then as it is now. It was still considered by many an emergency thing, the cost of which was only to be incurred if there was a real problem. Different times, different values.

You always want there to be a happy ending, as in the case of Yulia, but I would imagine that it does give them some help in finally knowing what happened. In the case of Yulia and her entire family, it sounds like she was fortunate that she had a loving adopted family, grew up being loved, cared for and was able to establish a healthy foundation for her to benefit for her life from know on. It’s also wonderful that she has found her parents and she now has two loving families, an apology from her father and her forgiveness, and her daughter has 3 sets of grandparents to love and spoil her. It was a wonderful ending for all involved. Thank you HC for bringing these updates to light. the second story has such a heartwarming ending.. but i cant help but wonder about everything in the beginning. who was that couple? how many other children did they do this with? moved across countries, it could be impossible to tell. and why take her in the first place? she remembers begging and being homeless, but not "abuse".. or maybe they just havent released that info? so many unanswered questions its haunting to consider. i suppose we should focus on being grateful their family is back intact 🙏

    • @learningagain4094
      @learningagain4094 4 роки тому +7

      I thought the couple took her to help with begging. They do this in China, take babies and toddlers and practically use them to get sympathy from others so they receive more money. People are more likely to give money to a homeless baby over a homeless couple.

    • @k.c1126
      @k.c1126 3 роки тому

      I got the impression this was intended to be an extended family visit. That's a long way to go for just a day or two. So she likely intended to get there early so she could spend time with the various relatives. There would have been surprise that she didn't arrive early ... or at all .... but this wouldn't have been addressed, in all likelihood, until after the wedding and related events were over.

    • @MrWombatty
      @MrWombatty 5 років тому +4

      Must remember that the kidnapping occurred around the time following the breakup of the Soviet Union, when Belarus along with others were gaining independence from Russia, so being found in Russia it was probably difficult to access information about missing-person cases from over the border. Also the name 'Yulia' being the equivalent of 'Julia' along with her parents having fairly common names, would've made it difficult to locate them!

    I wonder if they took samples of the blood found on the guy on the train's clothing. I bet they could use DNA now to find who stole the daughter. Imagine being on a train and two people just grab your daughter. You try to fight them, but get knocked out. I bet that's what happened.

    Another story for y'all....
    Around 1999 in Boca Raton, Florida, A man fishing in a canal with a depth finder discovered a submerged vehicle.
    After removing the vehicle from the water, which also happened to be a van I believe, investigators found the remains of five or six people. Can't remember the exact number.
    Turns out in 1979, a group of friends left Ft Lauderdale for a concert in West Palm Beach, and apparently lost control, plunging into the canal where they immediately flipped over and sank into the mud.
    The dead were all in their teens, between the ages of 16 and 18.
    20 years (almost to the day) after they went missing, the parents all finally got closure on the mystery.
    I'll never forget the news broadcasts for that story, as my highschool wasn't far from the spot where they were discovered.
    Anyway, true story though I've yet to find one of these videos covering it.
