Hello . congratulations you've just found the best band in the world! The Singer is Robert Plant the founding member guitarist and producer is Jimmy Page ,the drummer is John Bonham and the bass player who also plays key board organ and mandolin is John Paul Jones . They are a British band JP and JPJ from the London area and the other two from the midlands. The band was founded in 1968. Robert Plant sang the vocals all the way through this track, he has tremendous range and versatility as a vocalist and also plays mean harmonica . They do rock/ blues/ folk and so you will be constantly taken by suprise by them. There is nothing Jimmy Page cannot do on a guitar. The led Zeppelin name is roughly what you guessed , you will see Zeppelin air ships on the album cover art. It is a refernce to a British saying about a led balloon which is an idea which is received badly and is never going to fly. Presumably with a sense of irony. Their first album Led Zeppelin 1 is widely regarded as one of the best first albums ever ,a good way to get to know them is to go through one track at a time in order, trust me you won't be disappointed. Also they were a brilliant band live and you shuld also look at recordings of live performances .You are going to be very busy for a while....
I am always astounded to discover that there are people out there who have never heard this simply awesome tune. It is ICONIC! One of the best songs ever recorded. Enjoy!
We’re Black! 😂 Truth is most Black people including myself didn’t grow up listening to Led Zeppelin or any Hard Rock bands from the ‘70’s for that matter. I didn’t really start listening to ‘Zep’ until I was in my early twenties (around late 2000’s). They are a truly one of a kind band that I deeply love but there is a huge cultural difference in the type of music African Americans typically listen to compared to White people.
@@dadwhatsfordinner Absolutely! When I was a small child coming up in the late ‘80’s and ‘90’s I was only exposed to R&B, Hip Hop, and Gospel. It wasn’t until I reached early adulthood that my musical tastes expanded and I’m very thankful for that. Led Zeppelin is in my opinion the greatest Hard Rock band ever! If you find the time checkout a hidden gem titled “Friends” from their third album LED ZEPPELIN 3 (1970).
This album instantly transports me back to my room, in the summer, talking to girls on the phone, just living my best life during my late teens.... I can smell the smells, feel the feels, hear the hears.... sense the senses.... It's just so crazy, so profound.
Arguably the greatest band of all time. Each member a master musician. So much so, that when drummer John Bonham passed away in 1980 the remaining band members decided they could not continue without him, so they split up.
•"Dazed and Confused" •"Rock and Roll" •"Babe Im Gonna Leave You" •"Since Ive Been Loving You" •"i Cant Quit You Baby" •"Whole Lotta Love" •"All My Love" •"Kashmir" •"Ramble On" •"When The Levee Breaks" •"What Is And What Should Never Be" •"Immigrant Song" •"Black Dog" JUST TO NAME A FEW lol
Yes same singer throughout - Robert Plant. One of the most iconic frontman rock stars of all time! If you want another true banger that I firmly believe you'll dig: "When the Levee Breaks". It's a bluesy swamp rock sound with an amazing drum sound.
The louder vocal toward the end is actually double-tracked, to give it more breadth, which is literally recording it twice and laying it into the song in parallel.
You should give serious consideration to starting at album one, song one and doing their entire catalog. There's a ton of Zeppelin fans that follow all of the reactors that regularly put Zeppelin in their lineup. I think you'll like their variety of Blues/Rock, Folk/Rock, and they touch on lots of genre. Good job!
Lord have mercy!!! You are about to experience a fascinating ride. You'll recognize certain Zeppelin riffs, but they created dynamic sounds with various styles. There are probably 30 (maybe 50) songs by them that are better than most other band's best songs.
Check out some of their other tunes like 'when the levee breaks', 'Kashmir', 'all my love', 'whole lotta love', 'black dog', and there's one more I can't remember but you get the idea. And while you're at it, check out the Doors, the only American rock band that could stand up to all the great rock bands that came out of England from that era.
Greetings dad. Loved your reaction to Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven it's one of their iconic songs. I was 18 years old in 1969 when Led Zeppelin's first album came out. It blew me away. And every other person on this Earth that heard it. The singer for Led Zeppelin is Robert Plant. Guitarist Jimmy Page. Bass keyboards and pretty much all the other stuff you here is John Paul Jones. And drums John Bonham. If you plan to go down the Led Zeppelin rabbit hole you should do their first album and other albums consecutively. Definitely do Studio versions before live versions I've never heard a live song that sounded the same as the studio. In joy the ride. Peace ✌️
Name was originally "Lead Balloon" but was quickly changed to Zeppelin. Producer dropped the "A" from Lead so people wouldn't say "LEED" Zeppelin. Hence Led Zeppelin.
The Immigrant Song is one of my favourites. You may have heard it in a Marvel movie. I think wind instrument is a recorder. Other bands I think you might like are Black Sabbath (War Pigs, & Paranoia) and The Moody Blues (Tuesday Afternoon, & Timothy Leary). Cheers & thanks for your reactions, especially the Ukrainian/Polish ones!
listen to the original recording masterpieces like you just did and you probably will at least musically never be the same-honest you shook me/dazed and confused do both with no break -from the first album the lemon song! babe im gonna leave you how many more times rock and roll WHEN THE LEVEE BREAKS in the light heartbreaker/livin lovin maid-both together kashmir ten years gone the rover YOU HAVE DISCOVERED THE BEST OF THE BEST OF THE BEST GENRE EVER CREATED
The basis of the name was they heard someone (reports vary on who) heard these guys were forming a band and said, "That'll go over like a lead balloon." So they called themselves Led Zeppelin.
I guess listen to Classic Rock radio Stations !! 🤔 All the greatest Rock hits from the 1960s to 70s are played each day, every big city has 1 or 2 Classic Rock stations or Sirius radio where you can narrow it down to Classic Prog also 👍🎶
- LED ZEPPELIN: Greatest rock band ever! (Greatest singer, guitarist, drummer, and all-around bassist/keyboardist/etc.) - "STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN": Greatest rock song ever! (Subjective, based on personal opinion, of course. But undeniable at the top. Check out more of their stuff!...)
Do yourself a favor and just start from the first song on the first album and work your way through their entire catalogue. You won't be disappointed! The greatest band in the world! Subscribed in hopes that you will take this journey!
Keith Moon the drummer from the band Who said that the group would go down like a lead balloon and they took it as their name just changing lead to led so people wouldn't think of it like leading a dog.
Kashmir from Celebration Day in 2007 is Perfection. Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones were in their 60s, Robert Plant was 59. The original drummer's son, Jason Bonham, was drummer - and killed it! RIp John Henry.
Jimi Page ask Pete Moon from The Who how he thought his new band would go over. Pete said, like a lead balloon. There it is. You should really check out The Who also.
New Sub - here for the journey of classic rock. Led Zeppelin is my all-time favorite band. Enjoyed the reaction. #whentheleveebreaks is a cover of an old tune that sings about the real flood of Mississippi in 1927. I want to see your reaction to Robert Plant playing Harmonica and the best drum intro ever by the GOAT John Bonham (RIP) = later when you become a big LZ fan you'll want to get some backstage insights by watching the movie "The song remains the same" all based around their MSG concerts. Aloha
When they started a family member said they would go over like a lead zeppelin. They had a fire place in their jet. The shirts Robert Plant wore at concerts is a shirt from one of the chick's he slept with the night before.
When it was said that we are forming a new band, One of the guys said "that will go over like a lead zeppelin" Then a spelling mistake was never corrected and Led Zeppelin was born.
Great memories growing up, but sorry it was never my favorite song by Zeppelin. If you want to hear one my favorites growing up listen to Johnny Nash "I can see clearly now"

Thank you for the background information. I’m looking forward to listening to more of Led Zeppelin’s music.
There is a doorway, upon it is written 'Led Zeppelin', if you decide to pass through be prepared to be changed by their music.
I’m here for it. I love good music and I can tell I stumbled upon something special here
@@dadwhatsfordinner Indeed! You will not be disappointed.
Greatest band in history!! Everything they did was pure magic!
I’ll be listening to more by them. I was really impressed by this song.
did your wife listen to it of her own free will or D'yer Mak'er?
Facts, I don't care what anyone else says.
Julie is preaching to the Choir.
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!! Well said!
I am always astounded to discover that there are people out there who have never heard this simply awesome tune. It is ICONIC! One of the best songs ever recorded. Enjoy!

That is true. That’s why I love doing these reaction videos and getting suggestions from everyone because I’ve been exposed to so much great music. 👍🏾

Rock and Roll royalty.
The name Led Zeppelin came from a comment made by Keith Moon of The Who, who once said the band would go down like a lead balloon.
I guess that didn’t happen lol. I’ll be listening to more by Led Zeppelin very soon. I liked what I heard
@@dadwhatsfordinner No, quite the opposite in fact!
Thank gosh SOMEBODY knows how the name came about! By the way...which one is Pink? If you're hip you will get the reference I hope
Pink floyd please...hello from Cody Wyoming
And the band felt the American audience would mispronounce “lead” (giving it a long e) so they changed the spelling to Led.
This album instantly transports me back to my room, in the summer, talking to girls on the phone, just living my best life during my late teens.... I can smell the smells, feel the feels, hear the hears.... sense the senses.... It's just so crazy, so profound.
Right on brother. Good music will do that. Transport you back in time to that place and setting.
You started with the mystical Zeppelin.
There's a whole boatload of bad ass blues coming your way. 😎
Arguably the greatest band of all time. Each member a master musician. So much so, that when drummer John Bonham passed away in 1980 the remaining band members decided they could not continue without him, so they split up.
They really are. If you don't agree then you're wrong.
No arguments there.
•"Dazed and Confused"
•"Rock and Roll"
•"Babe Im Gonna Leave You"
•"Since Ive Been Loving You"
•"i Cant Quit You Baby"

Led Zeppelin stands for greatest Rock band of all time, that's all you need to know.
This I believe was my 0NE ZILLIONTH time listening to this song..never gets old.
You need to keep listening
Yes same singer throughout - Robert Plant.
One of the most iconic frontman rock stars of all time!
If you want another true banger that I firmly believe you'll dig: "When the Levee Breaks". It's a bluesy swamp rock sound with an amazing drum sound.
This is cosidered the best rock song ever!!!
These bring me to tears 😢
I was listening to this at age 15 ❤️
There is NO bad Led Zeppelin song. Period. 🥰
The louder vocal toward the end is actually double-tracked, to give it more breadth, which is literally recording it twice and laying it into the song in parallel.
This is a deep rabbit hole you just entered! I'm in my 60s, i grew up with all this!
Best band in the World! They are the Rock Gods!!
You should do the live version MSG 73. I was 3 or 4 rows back from the stage more to the right side as seen from the audience. July 28th 1973.
Need to do WHOLE LOTTA LOVE next by Led Zepplin and BLACKDOG !
Jimmy Page best in world. He’s still playing at 78
You should give serious consideration to starting at album one, song one and doing their entire catalog. There's a ton of Zeppelin fans that follow all of the reactors that regularly put Zeppelin in their lineup.
I think you'll like their variety of Blues/Rock, Folk/Rock, and they touch on lots of genre.
Good job!
I’ve been hearing that a lot. I think I will need to do that.
They had the greatest drummer of all-time, and the 3rd greatest guitar player!!
Lord have mercy!!! You are about to experience a fascinating ride. You'll recognize certain Zeppelin riffs, but they created dynamic sounds with various styles. There are probably 30 (maybe 50) songs by them that are better than most other band's best songs.
The greatest band ever. I’d recommend Dazed and Confused next. Then start from the beginning of their catalogue.
yeah ...this is one of their popular songs... yer killin' me Smalls!!!!! lol... thumbs up for your honesty
Hahaha. Hey I’m learning. All that matters is I’m discovering them now in 2022-23. Good music.
Nobody quite like The Mighty Led Zeppelin!
Check out some of their other tunes like 'when the levee breaks', 'Kashmir', 'all my love', 'whole lotta love', 'black dog', and there's one more I can't remember but you get the idea.

You MUST take the time to watch the ICONIC LIVE version at Madison Square Gardens!!!!
Keith Moon ( The Who drummer) coined the phrase " this band will take off like a lead balloon".
Yes, it picks up well.
A lot of opinion polls have this song as the "Greatest Rock Song" of all time.
I can see why.
The guitar solo on the live version really goes off
Name was originally "Lead Balloon" but was quickly changed to Zeppelin. Producer dropped the "A" from Lead so people wouldn't say "LEED" Zeppelin. Hence Led Zeppelin.
It's from album 4 The No name album . You need to listen to that whole album.. And yes, listen over and over.. This is the Best Band Ever!!
Next song, pick one of these. "Whole lotta love", "When the Levee Breaks", "Black Dog", "Kashmir" and "Ramble on".
Great to see you enjoy! Greetings from Canada. Peace, love and bellbottoms.
Greetings! Thanks for checking out my reaction. I got a lot more other music artists reaction. Stay and check them out

Nice review dad...now start with album 1 song 1....take a ride with the greatest band ever....they are all hits.
Ok. I think I will. Ive been hearing that a lot in the comment section
You have a great voice. I could picture you doing radio work. This brought me back to the first time hearing this song many, many years ago.
You should have played them live in concert. Video is great.
Since I've been loving you!!!
The basis of the name was they heard someone (reports vary on who) heard these guys were forming a band and said, "That'll go over like a lead balloon." So they called themselves Led Zeppelin.
Robert plant vocal Jimmy page guitar John Paul Jones bass John Bonham drummer
It's a mellotron not a flute. An early version of synthesizer. Played by John P Jones.
I can among others warmly recommend all those live videos from Madison Square Garden 1973.
GREATEST ROCK SONG OF ALL TIME!!
I guess listen to Classic Rock radio Stations !! 🤔

Yea. That probably wasn’t the best description. Sorry 😂
Let it play. You will see
Great reaction. Thanx!
You shook me after first album
Keith Moon the drummer from the band Who said that the group would go down like a lead balloon and they took it as their name just changing lead to led so people wouldn't think of it like leading a dog.
I guess Keith moon was wrong
Kashmir from Celebration Day in 2007 is Perfection. Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones were in their 60s, Robert Plant was 59. The original drummer's son, Jason Bonham, was drummer - and killed it! RIp John Henry.

That sound u mentioned is Robert plant voice in background as it starts
That's a "Recorder" you're hearing at the beginning, that sounds like a flute.
Oh! This will be a cool journey with you!
Half the band is from London and half is from the West Midlands.
Another good song by Led Zeppelin you should listen to is - Fool In The Rain. Last song they ever played and god damn it, they went out with a bang!!!
You must hear it live at MSG
🔥🔥🔥❤️🙌🙌
Start at their 1st song on 1st album and you can stop when you hear a bad song. You're in for a long ride.
That’s what I’ve been hearing in the comments. I’ll strap in for the ride. Thanks!
When The Levee Breaks.
Jimi Page ask Pete Moon from The Who how he thought his new band would go over. Pete said, like a lead balloon. There it is. You should really check out The Who also.
Check out the song "Since I've Been Loving You" off of the album "Led Zeppelin III" I subscribed.

Watch this live msg ‘73 to see Jimmy Page really go off in the guitar solo you loved so much.

Dazed And Confused live version from 1973 Madison Square Garden.
When it was said that we are forming a new band, One of the guys said "that will go over like a lead zeppelin" Then a spelling mistake was never corrected and Led Zeppelin was born.
Check out Robert Plant’s collaborative work with Alison Krauss… their live performance of “The Battle of Evermore” is stunning!!!
There was an old expression that something would be as fun "as a lead balloon". Well the biggest balloon of all would be a zeppelin! So Led Zeppelin!
all of my love is on my ipod right now in my new years run up of 50 songs i like to rememebr.
Since you like that bit check out the live version..guitar's even better Jimi Paige often called tge best rock guitarist
Hear Jimmy ! Guitar master Robert Plant singer.
The thing to keep in mind is that EVERYTHING Led Zeppelin goes best with a little Cannibas.😉
Great memories growing up, but sorry it was never my favorite song by Zeppelin. If you want to hear one my favorites growing up listen to Johnny Nash "I can see clearly now"
🫤
The Graf Zeppelin was a lighter-than-air airship the Germans came up with and used for reconnaissance and even as a bomber of London in WW1.
Later on there was a saying about something failing catastrophically -- "Well that went over like a lead zeppelin."
The band took the name and stylized it by leaving the 'a' out of 'lead'.
But it seems Led Zeppelin went over a bit better than a lead zeppelin.
