I've had this problem and came across your videos after I figured out how to fix it. Basically, what you're saying is -- correct! Many doctors do not even understand this, but there are increasing numbers of physios who have developed special exercise protocols for it. You are right to avoid surgery, botox, prolo, PRP and epidurals. These do not target the root cause, and some people fail to get relief even after multiple so called "migrane" (i.e., nerve excising) surgeries. Often I can feel a bump or grape size knot ("trigger point") in the upper trap across the shoulder. Instead of pinching, I will push right down on it, because it is easier since it won't slide out from between the fingers. I feel it melt away. At the same time it refers pain over the ear (lesser occipital nerve). This is a sign that the area you're working on behind the clavicle, can give you a headache (occipital neuraglia).

I am so glad I found you. I have just gone through the same techniques that you have shown and I am shocked by how many trigger points there are in my Sam's and traps. Wow, I'm going to start doing these daily. I'm shocked that I haven't found this out until now. Thank you.

    Hi Kayla,
I just found your channel I love your work so far. I’m just curious, if I don’t notice anything from holding those areas, does this mean that my problem is likely not active trigger points? I have hEDS, cervical ribs, cervicogenic headaches and occipital neuralgia that I’ve been trying for over a year to fix. I have been having flare ups after starting to massage this way which makes me think something is happening, though I’m not sure if it’s good or bad! Thank you for sharing this information.

When I went to the chiropractor he said I had like 40 trigger points in my back. I wonder if these are the same thing you're referring to. If so...I have no idea how to fix those back there lol😅

Grabbing my traps feels really relaxing. Weird!

Not weird at all! Feeling relaxed is my normal reaction to ANY massage.
