  • Got the new hammer attached and ready to use. I started out with a chunk of 2 inch stock just to see what it would do. I also worked on a handful of stake flippers while i was playing with it. Also used my Coal Iron Works 16+ ton press

Watched your acquisition/install video, and now this. I'm thinking hard about getting a smaller Anyang, but this video has me thinking that I'd be better off saving for a larger one; better to have more oomph than I need than not enough.

Thank you for watching our videos! I am super impressed with the 106. It has made the things I make so much faster and cleaner. The control you have with it is amazing also. I really feel like you can work some massive stock with the 106 and have no problem doing so. I have made a few quite large billets of Damascus on it with ease. I would say go at least one size bigger than the one you originally wanted. That is what I did and am super glad I did. The 106 is worth every penny I spent on it for sure.

Wow, nice control already with her! Looks like you’ll be spending a lot of time in there now, brother. Lol
Cool driveshaft trivet, btw. I wouldn’t mind one of those as a cigar ashtray.
    Keep it hot, brother

Hello, Just wondering why you ended up adding the Little Giant to the mix? Did you have issues getting the Anyang to do what you needed?

We added the Little Giant mostly because I do a ton of small intricate work with very fine points. The Anyang is an amazing piece of equipment with so many possibilities and uses. But making very fine points with such a large hitting ability makes it harder to do fine points and small items. It can be done with it but takes more time. The 25 pound Little Giant is perfect for those small items and I can do an amazing amount of fine taper on it without needing to hand hammer. Only really need to hand hammer to do the fine clean up on things. I do have things I end up using both the Anyang and Little Giant, plus I’ll even throw the 16+ Ton Coal Iron press in the mix haha. It is the perfect mix of equipment and can do about anything I make.
Thank you for watching our videos.

What is the hose coming off of the hammer?. What is the hose coming off of the hammer?.

Hey, it is an exhaust hose to channel the air and oil particles away from the user and it also helps to quiet down the sound of the hammers compressor as well. The exhaust air from the hammer can have a good bit of atomized oil in it and it will float in the air around the hammer. The hose was just a temporary thing until I got a hard pipe on it.

I want to buy a 1000 lb power hammer for forging axe and pickaxe do you think a 1000lb power hammer is good for forging axe and pickaxe in one heat?

A lot of factors go into forging anything in one heat. The skills of the smith is one of the biggest factors. If you are good at it I would say you might be able to. I have never used a hammer bigger than my 106, so really could not tell you how a different size hammer will preform.

There is an air exhaust port on the side of the hammer that allows it to breath. The hose was a temporary exhaust hose until I was able to get a hard pipe one built and into a bucket. The port lets a small amount of oil vapor out from time to time with the air so I have it ran into a bucket with screen material on it so it will catch the vapor and keep anything from going into the hammer.

They are amazing pieces of equipment. If you can justify the expense it is 100% worth it. James and Steve are great guys to work with at Anyang USA.
