    Hi Will, it's nice to see people who can bring old machines back to life. Most people think it's junk, scrap it.
    Most of my machine shop is 75 to 100 years old, works fine with restoration of antique engines.
    Fine job, thanks for sharing the workings of the hammer. 👍

    I find it difficult to comprehend how such a young guy can get these power hammers, take them apart and then reassemble them, to get them running! You're truly a talented guy! And don't forget, a great knife Smith as well. 👍🤔

    Glad to see you got the Beaudry back up and running. I felt awful watching it fall over almost a year ago when that happened but we all knew you would fix it in time. Good on you Will, it took some time and its going to take some more time to break in but you did it. You stuck to your guns and made it happen.

    Honestly, if you’ve got the energy to care to film those smaller progressive adjustments or minor/tedious repairs, I’d certainly be into that content. Unique or specific repairs and fine tuning, minor explanations, a couple fixed camera angles, and a mellow audio track, and also the everything else involved in putting out content, but all i’m sayin is I’d tune in for those videos.

    It sounds like your old braking band material was very similar to the friction bands we use on our winches in commercial fishing. They're available in all sorts of sizes so your liable to find some that work for your hammers. They also do the braking function of the winch so they are designed for exactly that task. Just search for "Woven Brake Band Material" and you will pull up loads of manufacturers.

    Hopefully you wore protection when you removed the old brake lining because old automotive brakes as well as machine brakes had asbestos linings in the brake shoes. Asbestos was phased out of use in the 1970’s but it is highly likely the brake on your old machine predated that even if it was replaced when it was being used by whatever Industry had the machine.
