I absolutely love this but I have one issue Whenever I try to set multiple "Define Faction" plots and put different types of factions like CSAT Civillian and others, The teams end up being correct but they have swapped uniforms, for example the Civillians sometimes have CSAT Uniforms and CSAT sometimes have MDF and MDP (friendly forces) Uniforms and it causes alot of confusion during a firefight trying to figure out who is who. *Please halp meh* .-.
Hey, I am new to area of operations and yesterday, I was trying g to edit a mission where I wanted an independent faction to be defined as the enemy. Everything worked the way you had described by simply defining the enemy units, however, the enemy spawned all around my base of operations perhaps because of where the AO module was placed? The thing I was trying is to create a sandbox capture the enemy HQ HC style mission and I wanted the enemy to be restricted to a certain half of the map. Should I usually place the AO where I want this to happen and control the area that the enemy spawns in by defining the radius of the module? I am sorry if the question seems silly, I am rather new to arma editing.
Yeah, place the Core module where you want the mission to take place and use the debug mode to check its size etc. You can place editor stuff outside the AO, it won't cause any problems. The AO basically means units and mission will only spawn within that area. Also, you can use Blacklist modules to stop spawning in your base.

iv been using this mod for years its hands down the best i have one question when i set everything up the thecore/difinefaction/custumtroopsinradious is i use the spawner node they just use the regular opfour troops not my custum troops but it works for the regular map pop core

Bro i ONLY want infantry and the mod spawns like 4 motorized infantry vehicles and the weapons the units i placed use are wrong(nato weapons instead of the mod weapons) . I dont understand. I put the units within 200m and yet it spawns planes, etc etc. I even edited the arrays to 0,0 and it still spawns vehicles and crazy stuff.

Hi drongo! love this mod alot! watched this video and after placing the units down and all that everything gets loaded very nicely BUT, where ever i put the core down, around that area will spawn ALOT of guys. like litterally out of the 100 guys being spawned in, 60 would be at the core and around it and the other ones would be scattered around nicely. That probably means you have another module too close to the faction module, make sure to space them out. For civs, you mean interacting with them, or audio? BTW, I recommend joining my discord, its the best way to get detailed answers.

Probably not, it would take hours and hours to produce, and some of it would be out of date very quickly. The best way to get info is on my discord or to mail be directly. Some guys are also talking about setting up a community wiki which would be great.
Amazing work Drongo, love it. Is it normal that the Mission ends completely after getting a Mission Failed by killing the civilian I'm supposed to rescue? It's like 1 out of 8 missions in the AO....spent bout 2 hours clearing it and then it just ends cause of this civi getting rekt. I want the Mission to fully end though after extraction and all missions completed and or failed. Is this not possible?
With static mission modules, you should be able to set the mission to optional. With generated ones it is not possible, but you can remove rescue from the generated mission pool.
Drongo another question. Got the Dynamic Frontline hooked up. It create a serie of objective... when it tasks a mission it selects an objective far from the first node. Is that correct? I thought this was a set of battle in series with the nodes instead of skipping nodes

That is the main way civilians are meant to work, they are ambient. However, you can set their static values lower down in the same module. Also, you could use a Define Faction module set to CIVILIAN.

im trying to place one faction on one side, and the opposing faction on the other side but everytime i play the enemies spawn inside the other factions AO instead of their own, ive been placing one core module witha defined faction on one side, and another core module and defined faction on the opposite side of the map. Im not sure if i am doing this incoreectly because i am new to mission editing but any help would be appreciated
Don’t get the point of this mod. Where’s the mission? All you get is an overpopulated sector of units gobbling up FPS. Is this just for ambiance or is there something to be accomplished?
For some reason when i populate a map the population will work normally however i don't know if im using too many units or a rather small map (Namalsk) but there are some squads that just spawn at 0,0 aswell as i think some loot in the loot feature, i suspect it to be the map's fault but im just asking if you or anyone has encountered this
When stuff spawns at 0,0, that means that the system couldn't find enough places within the AO. Try using the define location module or placing less groups. Switch on debug to see the markers for what the sytem has detected.
Depends on what you are trying to do. There is some overlap, but DMP and ALIVE each have their own advantages Maybe ask on my discord for guys who have more experience with both ALIVE and DMP.

Drongo Mods I’m using AI from mods if that makes a difference, takistan militants to be exact. And they spawn as takistan militants, but they don’t try to kill me lol I’ve renamed, driver, pilot, squad lead, with their respective ranks. So I’m not sure if I’m just missing something of if it’s because I’m not actually using CSAT OPFOR but Takistan OPFOR.

Yeah, I considered making a built-in insurgent faction, but "for some reason NATO units are spawning" is very useful for debugging.

Custom loadouts don't work with DMP. If you mean vanilla NAO classes are spawning, it means some modules are too close to each other.

On my Discord there is a Smooth Ops demo with vanilla units on Malden, it only requires DMP.

A lot depends on the map and AO size and position.

Reduce the spawn settings in the Define Faction module and try the Caching module.

No, they are their own category, mostly used in populating towns.

It depends on the index you set for the first node in a campaign.

The first option in the Core module is "Debug". Set it to "FALSE".

The system only supports a single AO.
No matter how much I put other factions down I still keep getting NATO factions

Hi Drongo so we use this mod to populate the map and RDC to create a campaign? Do you use them together?
DMP contains it's own version of RDC called DFC (Dynamic Frontline Campaign). Use that instead. DMP and RDC do no work together.

Make sure the ranks are set properly for aircrew and vehicle crew.

And they spawn as takistan militants, but they don’t try to kill me lol I’ve renamed, driver, pilot, squad lead, with their respective ranks. So I’m not sure if I’m just missing something of if it’s because I’m not actually using CSAT OPFOR but Takistan OPFOR.
@@danski4415 Check your side, check the enemy side in the module and check side relations in the mission.
When units die will they respawn.

@@drongomods Sorry i wasnt descriptive. I have placed the blacklist modules and set them to like 800 and the enemy ai will still spawn inside that 800 area. How do i stop this?
