It's so funny cuz I've been a fan since P2, and this feels like a completely different periphery that I've never heard before. Insane how talented they are
What's really impressive here is that I believe I read that they aren't using drum samples much in this album. Like the kicks and snares are authentic from what Matt played and Nolly captured and mixed. Typically in metal, the snare and kick are samples, or at least layered with samples.
@@crewd00d Yeah It's mindblowing. I assumed this was programmed drums until I found out it wasn't because thats how good adam nolly's mixing is. He's too good at mixing
I hope you're not using UA-cam as the standard for sound quality either! A lot of the frequencies are cut due to the compression, and the difference is very noticeable using a different HiFi service like Tidal.
It's helped me through finals AND it inspired me so now i have a fuckton of new ideas for riffs. Periphery practically creates jobs and boosts the economy when they release an album holy fuck.
This song sounds like a love song to their favorite metal bands. Getting vibes from Stray from the Path, Josh Travis/Tony Danza, Slipknot, Sikth, Dillinger Escape Plan, the solo reminds me of Pantera/Revocation. Probably a lot more I can't quite think of.
I just want to appreciate how aggressive that pick scrape at 0:10 sounds, it almost rips my ears but I just want to keep listening to it. Such an angry track!
I can only imagine how proud these guys are of this album…I’ve been listening to it for the last 3 hours straight and just wow…I knew it would be quality but this is on a whole other level..great job guys if you don’t get a Grammy I give up

This makes me wonder if Spencer was bright up Catholic. It mirrors the feelings of guilt and shame that are drummed into you from birth in Catholicism, coupled with the feeling of emptiness and lack of meaning you're left with once the religion is gone and yet those feelings of guilt and shame remain.
I know you see us here. I know you know we've all been waiting patiently. But do you know how many lives you've improved, soothed, or even saved? Its about God damn time. Now we listen, shivers down the spine.

The solo section is exactly what Trivium SHOULD be. I don't know why, but I'm getting huge 'The Crusade' era Trivium solos on this album, this and the Wax Wings solo for sure. I am absolutely here for it 😍
Главная задача музыки - дарить эмоции. Ваш альбом, ребята, лично мне подарил незабываемый час наслаждения при первом прослушивании. I just went to an Underoath headliner where Periphery was playing and I was disappointed they didn't play this song, then again, you cant outperform the headliner and that's absolutely what this song would do. What an absolute menace of a track.
Just finished listening to the album - definitely impressed as a fan of the band and also as a listener trying to absorb the new piece of music and having my initial impression :) There's one song in particular I think most of us can agree is just perfect - Wax Wings. Instantly my favorite on the album. Thank you Periphery, this is gorgeous!

The section at 1:47 is straight out of the Dillinger playbook and I love it
Literally thought the same thing. Miss those guys.
I know right…. It’s beautiful!!! Way to pay their respects 🤘
For sure
That was my first thought as well absolutely loved that part.
you're dead right
One of, if not the darkest chorus melody Spencer has ever done. And the CHVRCH BVRNER vibes are unreal. What a masterpiece
Dude the ending of this song is 100% the heaviest bit written since the invention of the sound wave itself

Traitors-intruder. Lovely little tune
Have you never heard of gojira or meshuggah?
periphery's car bomb moment. I approve fully

The part at 1:48 sounds like old school Dillinger Escape Plan which is cool too.
I love that nice subtle growl in the background during chorus 2:45 😮.
Love the CHVRCH BVRNER vibe at 1:27. Sounds absolutely insane! Love the throwbacks to previous albums.
Feed the Ground from Clear for me
