    Thank you for the video, but a small tip: don't use music constantly throughout the whole video. It's distracting and harder to listen to what you're telling.

    Thanks for sharing your vid. Nicely done & useful info. I did not realize the ebike 24 tooth hybrid ebike ratched system was available. I'm about to start running my new 350 with a 1,000 watt mid drive so I will check it out down the track. Cheers.

    Does the freehub body always stay inside of the cassette? Doesn't seem right

    • @trickyrickymtb5622
      @trickyrickymtb5622  2 роки тому

      No not necessarily, it's just a feature of the hub that allows you to hot swap cassettes from wheel to wheel. It's designed allow quick maintenance without having ro remove the cassette.

    My thoughts on the DT 350 hub. What do you run and are ready for a wheel upgrade?

  • @JohnsTrainVideos

    My santa cruz came with 370 hubs (not 350) and they were pure garbage. I stripped the drive ring right out of the body of the hub in about 2 months of riding, no e bikes just legs.

      The 370s are the budget DT hub, surprised to hear of your issue though, the 370 generally has a good reputation for reliability. May have been a QC problem, incorrect installation or something. The 350s are amazing hubs IMO

    Hi everyone, a quick correction needed re the price I stated for the DT upgrade kit. I said I paid around 40 quid. It was actually £69.95 on Amazon. Apologies for the error.

    Does the 350 have stainless steel bearings or just chromium steel?

    • @trickyrickymtb5622
      @trickyrickymtb5622  3 роки тому +1

      I honestly don't know. They are supposed to be the same as the 240s which are stainless, but I can't find anything which confirms this. Sorry

    Can you suggest a good place to buy the official 54T ratchet and hub grease ? I have seen some Chinese replicas on Amazon hence not too sure on them.

      I actually got both 36 & 54 tooth kits from Amazon and both were authentic DT swiss. I did carefully read the listing and read all the reviews before however, to make sure they were legit. If your worried, I suggest Tredz, who are very reliable and authentic on-line retailers.

      @@trickyrickymtb5622 I found what seems like legit ones on Amazon but its coming up just over 80 quid and to be fair I haven't seen any cheaper as far as legit ones goes so I might just have to bite the bullet.

      @@trickyrickymtb5622 Another question, I'm about to order the same DT Swiss Ex 511 29ners for my trail bike (that comes with 350 hubs). Just wondered what is your opinion of the wheels?

      @@yarrik8580 fantastic wheels, 130kg system weight, propper enduro quality and only about 1880g. I've got some for my ebike and love em. Also have the XM421 & 481 with 350s. Great rims and hubs.

    Hi. I have a brand new dt swiss 350. But we changed the free hub to microspline.
    Right now, it doesn't sound like the original sound.
    Can u help me?
    Thank you

      In what way does it sound different? I assume you used the same ratchet? Did you put the retaining springs in the right way? I've switched between shimano, XD and microsoline and haven't noticed any change in sound.

      DT SWISS charge £100 more for 240 hub that is a tiny metal piece with 36 bumps instead of 18. ...... Chinese parts of similar manufacturing cost are about £5 standalone. DT SWISS want extra £100 for it over the 350 😂😂😂😂. A Fuking con that capitalist forefathers would rejoice at 😂. Great video tho

      @@Max__apex lol yeah DT parts are pricey. The 36t upgrade kit for the 350 was only 20 odd quid when it launched, but DT quickly cottoned on n raised the price significantly. I think the difference between the 350 & 240 is something like 16 grams. Defo not worth the cost unless your a pro XC racer, which is why I always recommend the 350 as a sweet spot in the range.
