Excellent channel, spent countless hours in the forest logging with a 2WD MF178 - as they say, firewood production makes you warm at least 3-4 times before burning (cutting, collecting, stacking, loading)
You're absolutely right, that's one of the things I wish it had. But it's rare on larger excavators in my area, mostly only fitted on 12 ton machines and below, to my knowledge. Thanks for watching! ❤️
I don't know if you already repaired the track guides or not. I think it would be interesting to see how those work and how you repair them. I can imagine they are an important part to have in place except when only tracking straight.
As I was watching I was going ask you how many times you wish you had a thumb, but in a perfect world I to would have an excavator, dozer, dump trailer, dump truck, gravel pit and top it off with a big blue tractor, so I can also fix my woods roads..........
Haha, exactly! A thumb would be very handy. I have thought about fabcricating one, there is plumbing on the stick that I could use for it. Maybe one day! Thanks for another comment! I appreciate it ❤️
@@woodlandwrench I seen stationary thumbs, they pin the thumb in place then as they curl bucket to thumb it grabs the wood or rock, no hydraulics to hook up up. When not in use they take it off but it's a bit on the heavy side.......

That's awesome to hear fellow woodsman. You're absolutely right a bout that!
Thanks for watching ❤️

A front blade on your excavator could be useful for that kind of job :)

I haven't done it yet. Will probably be in spring/summer. I'll be sure to make a video when I do, of course. Thanks for the comment!❤️
