The scorpions are amazing at taking out enemy cav. In areas with lots of horse archers I field scorpions and within a few volleys those units usually route. One gripe I have is Rome has no archers. Rome historically had auxiliary archers so I think that should have been an option, but I just recruit a bunch of Germanic archers and deploy them in my legions. Still wish they had a auxiliary choice for archers though.

You need to build a auxiliary barracks in specific regions to get specific units. Use this link www.honga.net/totalwar/rome2/faction.php?l=en&v=rome2&f=rom_rome. Scroll down, click on the specific ranged unit you want, scroll down again until you see "Recruitment Requirement" . It will tell you exactly where the unit can be recruited and what tier you need.
@@The_Generalgr Rome has 2 type of army buildings, you have to build auxiliary military building in Kelt dominant places in order to have access to Kelt Auxiliary units.

To my knowledge, multiplayer can have custom rules and won’t show all units. When it comes to a custom battle, you won’t have all units or factions since you need to buy dlc for them and some units are for campaign only. Mods can change what you can use.
Where is the Evocati Cohort?
They are way more cost efficient than Armoured Legionaries

Ig it's probably balancing, if they add strong archers rome would have an eve easier time, and no one would use weak archers

What I do is build aux barracks in Germanic territory and that opens up archers to be recruited.
Best are Gaul, Cretan and Syrian Archers, The Cretan You can only get them on Greece

People glitch in the 680 veteran legionaries from other DLC Rome factions. It makes the game unfair. In some lobby’s it it’s considered cheating.
