    Just my two cents but I always enjoy seeing the Muhle R41 up against some serious beard growth. Would the 6 plate on Rockwell be able to take that much growth down? Glad to see a new video because you will always be my favorite channel. Happy Holidays to you, and your family!

    You mentioned in the vid that we should suggest a razor to remove the beard when the time comes. I'd like to suggest the Fatip Grande. It's an all brass razor made in italy, plated in nickel, open comb, and costs about $23. The old one's had a reputation for poor QC but they retooled back in 2016, and the new ones are pretty amazing. It's slightly less aggressive than the R41, but nearly as efficient. If you like the R41, I think you'll really enjoy the Fatip Grande. It's great to see you back!

    FWIW, I had a difficult surgery towards the end of 2016, and was in the hospital and post-surgical rehab for a bunch of months. I ended up with a Santa Claus like beard, but my R41 with a new Feather blade took it off easily, like shearing a sheep. This would be a fine way to end No Shave November.

    The Merkur 34C is the bomb !
    I think you should use the *Merkur 25C* to take your beard off. It's one of my favorite razors and I know it will kill your beard with no problem. It's an open comb and my daily shaver because it's soooo smooooth.

    Good to see you back, as a dedicated straight shaver, I hope for a straight shave.
    I (try to) have 10 soaps only in the rota, 7 straights, 2 DE, a 34C and ATT, like as you try new stuff, but pass a lot of stuff on if I doens't like it, or like but not as much of others with similar smell

  • @GreekYoda

    Surprised you didn't use straight razor. Hit the top line on the mustache. A straight razor just so much better for clean lines. Thanks for your vids, keep up the good work. You've been missed.

  • @Pingaheimer

    Good, i'm gonna use the technique of drawing the division across the shaving cream with your finger, never thought of that. Btw, i find that using my straight razor i get ultimate precision on the cheek lines, which is the only thing i use it for now.

    Maybe you can use your Rockwell with plate 6 and a sharp but smooth blade to tackle that beard. That would be an interesting change from the already documented results with the R41 and straight razor. Happy Holidays!!

    Glad to see you making videos again. I would like to see you use the Merkur Futur or (QShave / Mingshi 2000) version for your beard off shave. I think that would slice through your beard nicely. I recently bought the QShave and it has become my favorite razor. I use it on setting 3 and get the smoothest shave. For your beard, probably setting 6 for the initial pass then 3 for the next two passes would work great.

    Doesn’t feel like your heart is in this anymore Nick. That’s a shame because you’re easily my favourite UA-camr. You did I think 10 videos this past year, less than one per month. I know you’re a surgeon and all so I can totally understand that you have other priorities in life, I’d just say maybe it’s time to knock this on the head if you can’t commit to it.

    • @Allaluca
      @Allaluca 6 років тому +3

      Just be grateful he's still putting out videos. Nick does not have to "commit" to any of this, he's not a full time UA-camr, and it's not like you're supporting him through Patreon or something...so back off

    • @tristanmarshall6977
      @tristanmarshall6977 6 років тому +3

      I’m grateful Nick still puts out videos, my point isn’t “You need to make more videos or stop doing it”. My point is that it seems like Nick puts up videos now because he hasn’t done one for a while, they don’t carry the same enthusiasm that they used to. I’m sure he gets sick of the 15 “Nick when are you doing a new video” comments that appear under every Instagram picture that he posts, it’s only human. My point is that if life and his priorities are too much for him to be a UA-camr at the same time then maybe it’s time to stop for a while.
