Exactly. And maybe this is the sad attempt to chg that. But… any HNWI who like racing is probably going to go buy a grey market Daytona instead of this overpriced, homely watch.
I have seen two of these watches in the local Patek AD. They were 'already sold', so it begs the question, why unbox and display a watch nobody can buy? But as I learned, the AD had no Patek of any kind for sale. They also have no waiting list. Who knows what the business model is? But the AD will not sell you a watch. Does designing a watch for youthful buyers fit with a company that will not sell you any watch? Who knows? I don't visit the Patek AD anymore. The entire watch hobby seems idiotic at times. The AD games reinforce my suspicion that watch collecting is a distraction for rich people with meaningless lives. The company best characterizing the hidden vulgarity of it all is Patek. A joke, told by a fool and heard by an idiot.
At the top end, it is definitely a distraction for the obscenely wealthy, yet with meaningless lives. Think Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. Patek isn’t its ultimate form though. Equally bad if not worse are MB&F, Greubel Forsey, and Richard Mille.
This is exactly, in every detail, my same experience at Patek AD. Needless to say, I will never visit Patek again or consider any one of their watches EVER.
I quite like the aesthetic, but it’s not $37k+ nice. And PP couldn’t even be bothered to colour-match the date wheel! Stamped dial and all, it probably actually costs $699 to make (efficiently), even taking the gold content into account. As a holy trinity brand, arguably the ‘best’ watch brand, you must retain class, a timelessness (if you forgive the pun), a sophistication, that transcends fashion and era; the watch equivalent of the E-type, the Routemaster, the K6, the Kenwood Chef, Concorde, etc., design across generations if you like, whilst modernising and continually improving the production, the parts, the tech underlying the design. I get a feeling of uncertainty from PP, as I do from AP for that matter. I’m guessing PP buyers don’t like that.
@@borassictime918 I don't think the date wheel should match the dial color when the date window is replacing an index. In this case it should match the color of the hour marker, just as what Petek did.
@@UVB76theBoozer It is subjective I suppose, but for me it looks cheap’d out, unthought through, if a deliberate design choice certainly could have been better realised.
Yep. Cheaped out.,Especially with that stamped dial. Seems like Patek is testing the waters to see just what they can get away with. Cutting corners Thierry? Rushing production?
I can’t say I agree with this very well thought out review. The reality of buying Pateks at the AD is that they basically force you to buy a Calatrava before they will sell you anything else. The problem that I have is, I do not like almost any of the watches in the Calatrava collection. I find them to be extremely plain and boring. But I like a bunch of the PP Complication and Grand Complication watches, as well as some of the Nautilus and Aquanaut collection. This particular watch at least represents a Calatrava that I would buy and is more appealing to me than the more staid, conservative other watches in the Calatrava collection. I’m actually quite into car racing and I enjoy the look of this watch. That being said, at this price point given and given this is a Holy Trinity brand, PP should never have stamped the dial and that’s really a cost cutting way to cheap out. But other than that, I don’t think this was a mistake for them to produce this watch. This watch is the way for them to get people to buy the Calatrava, who otherwise wouldn’t.
You have a fair perspective. I have to admit that I've moved position ever so slightly as to what Patek is doing. The more they release, the more it becomes clear that the calatrava line is being modernised and turned into a much more youthful, non-dressy watch aiming for a younger audience... For the studio underdog and nomos crowd but in a higher income bracket 😊
@@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch correct. If they want to attract the next generation of collectors and they’re making the Calatrava the gateway watch to get anything else, they need to have a few that would appeal to people who don’t like super conservative watches. The 6007G is that watch. The 5226G is in the spirit as well. Still, at that price point and being a Patek, the dial of the 6007G should not be stamped. For example, I’m not that much into most of the Vacheron Constantin watches but I do love the look of the Overseas collection and I have a stainless steel blue dial Overseas chronograph and my wife has an ice blue dial Overseas as well. Most of the other collections do nothing for me.
I like your take and it’s an interesting video. I personally quite like the watch, I like the red one because the colours kinda match my logo which means something to me. Maybe one day! The one thing I don’t get it is why anyone is looking at brands like Patek and VC etc are judging their watches on things like power reserve compared to Omega? It’s the equivalent of writing off a Rolls Royce because it’s MPG compared poorly to Audi. Power reserve is irrelevant to a watch collector, someone spending this money on a watch like this doesn’t have one watch that they take off on Friday and want to put back on Monday, if they did they’d buy a water proof one I’d guess and not a delicate Patek dressed down dress watch? I think it’s intentionally younger and divisive as a result. I don’t think it’s particularly trendy at all. It’s just a sportier looking dress watch, the overall design is timeless enough. It looks like watches of old but with a splash of colour and a bit of pattern. They got the same accusations when the introduced a Pilots watch with no history of making Pilots watches. It didn’t suit their existing audience so much, but it did suit plenty of people and it’s a beautiful watch. Staying in their lane making old man watches would not seem a good long term play for Patek either. A few watches that appeal to different eyes to get new customers in or to offer something “out there” to existing collectors is not a bad watch idea to me. A watch that appeals to some eyes and not others similarly seems better than a plain dull reinvention of the same Calatrava my Great Grandad could have worn. It’s also not a bad idea for Patek owners to have something a little different. If you were lucky enough to have a Nautilus, Aquanaut, Calatrava and maybe a manual chrono or Annual Calendar. Maybe this watch appeals to that collector something different in their collection. There are people out there with 4plus Patek’s and to have something novel in Patek’s catalogue and a completely different look for those people is no bad thing either. Let’s face it, for some people (not me) the Calatrava is the watch you buy first to allow you to buy the ones you really want later from the AD. A slightly sportier calatrava maybe offers a more palatable gateway to an Aquanaut etc down the line than a watch you might only way for special occasions and not every day.
Saw them in Watches and Wonders, and I find them stunning. I personally like the red one. To me, it is entering something with a slightly new design language, while still being classy in its own way. Patek defines who they are, not collectors. ALS collectors also rejected the Zeitwerk in 2009, this is not ALS! Yes, it was. You just need to be open-minded to new things.
This watch epitomises the fact that Patek is living on old glory and reputation and their new watches are really a few levels bellow the concurrent brands. Compare this to a random watch from A Lange or Vacheron or Glashutte Original
I think you’re right in thinking that Patek is chasing after a desire to be young and relevant to the younger demographic. I don’t know how else to explain the newest releases last week… the new aquanaut 5260. Those are just ghastly!
They have definitely made a shift. Beefing up cases, adding colour. It's aimed at a new audience for sure 😊😊 As for rainbow gem watches - I find very very few attractive .
You are dead right. I think it's a beautiful watch but will not appeal to a Patek wearer. Obsessive Patek collectors are another species - they won't be able to restrain themselves as one day this will be a very special Patek. it's as though their designers created something for another brand. Your analysis is superb.
I purchased unworn blue for 24k with box and papers. ❤ it. If RMs can sell bonbon shit . Technically it costed me as much as a strap of some limited RMs. Price all in the perspective in luxury scene.
A proper dresswatch IS manual wind (thin enough to slide under a cuff) and, which is its most key (none) feature, NO DATE. It's a matter of etiquette. Traditionally it's considered rude to not know the date when attending a formal occasion and since you only wear it every now and then an automatic is not necessary. 40-50 (half)turns gives you all the power you need for the occasion.
With an auto wind movement, at this point in time, one would expect a better PR. Now this isn’t obviously isn’t a pure dress watch, not even close. This could be a daily wear for someone who can afford such a watch, assuming that’s something that someone who could afford such a watch would even consider. There simply could be an endless rotation. Regardless, if a watch is worn daily and actively, 40 hours is sufficient, though not impressive. That said, such a watch always tends to be more impressive in the details with respect to finish and materials used. I too prefer a manual wind dress watch. Thickness isn’t an issue here, but it can allow for a thinner watch, a movement without a rotor is arguably more engaging and it’s typically at least in my book, a watch that three hands tops, often two, for many people they aren’t worn daily. Within the context of a manually wound dress watch, PR becomes even less of interest. If I found myself wearing it routinely, I’m probably winding it daily around the same time, I’m not likely to keep track otherwise. I have a hand wind SBGW269, that has a 72 hour power reserve, I’m not winding it every three days. As for hacking seconds. Not having them is a non issue particularly on a high end watch or a manual wind. With practice, they aren’t difficult to synch and that becomes part of the fun, part of the ritual. If someone must have hacking, there’s other watches. I’m not about to turn my nose at this for going to a hacking movement, but my best watch is an El Primero and I’ve grown to appreciate it for what it is. If this watch has a Geneva seal, that would suggest it doesn’t feature. Silicon hairspring?
Patek Phillipe is an aspirational brand. It is worn by some of the hippest celebrities, athletes etc around: John Mayer, Ed Sheeran, Drake, Lionel Messi and on and on. Those folks wear Patek because it demonstrates their wealth and status and they don’t wear this model. John Mayer:Perpetual Calendar Chronograph, Drake: 40th Anniversary Nautilus, Ed Sheeran: 5208p Grand Complication. I think its fine that Patek may be trying to broaden its market share with a straight forward diver or driver but they will have to bring it in at an approachable price point. That will of course anger their base because a more approachable Patek will mean the brand no longer excludes the tawdry masses.
Look at it this way: Decades ago (2002) , nobody would have thought Porsche would produce an SUV! It's unimaginable! Now, it's the norm. Even Ferrari and Lamborghini joined the bandwagon. If you are a "hardcore" fan of Patek, you will not be able to understand that. If you are an "oldie" (no offense), you most probably won't understand that either.
The three colored Calatrava models were actually really popular among my friends and I when they were first released. Most of us got all the colors and quite a few acquaintances were also wearing them. They’re not so popular now but for a few months they were the “it” watch, especially among those of us who already owned most of the back catalogue and wanted something a little different.
How can Patek Philippe produce a watch like this? Even as a peasant I know that this time piece is below their standard. I think it's "lit" and that should be enough to make Patek shudder.
Apropos:not too keen on the side view 5:52. I appreciate the technical attempt (conforms to film grammar?) , but I find it distracting & er, I'm not the target audience for close ups of other gents ( one can me names) or most other people.
A $37,000 field watch? Which idiot thought that this was a good idea? Did the guy not know what field watches are made for? Field watches should be - for the outdoors - extremely durable - cheap enough that even if you accidentally smashed it, it won't hurt to replace it. At $37,000. That watch will stay indoor. On a rich man's wrist who would be wearing suits or semi formal most of the time. And no sane rich man in a suit or semi formal would have this thing on his wrist. They would put a much more elegant dress watch on their wrist instead of this.
It’s not like they’re replacing the classics, they’re expanding the range. I don’t think any core Patek buyer will suddenly lose brand loyalty because Patek are offering something they don’t want. I’d say the noisiest of the whingers are the least likely to afford to buy anything on offer.
Patek is offering these new blingy attention getting watches because certain parts of the world are filling up with the new very rich...and they want the showiest thing that they can find to brag about how much money they have. In fact getting one of these gaudy Pateks simply shows that they have so much throw away money that they do not have to regard very very expensive watches as an investment for the future, but more as something to wear today and then toss it away once the new caprice comes along and catches their eye. In other words they (unlike mere mortals with actual budgets) can afford to waste their money on follies, and they want everyone to know it.
Man, I like your videos very much, but you can use an analogy for explaining something, but not to prove something (MTV stuff). This is a logical fallacy. Back to 6007g. It has the very same 26 300 SC movement as 5711g. If it is good for Nautilus, I think it will be good for 6007g.
It's gonna be a commercial failure because it's flabbergastingly ugly ( for Patek ) ...Hence very few examples will get out of the factory .....So it's gonna be rare .....And then in 15 years everyone will want it just because of the rarity ....Then it's gonna be deemed "beautiful" and reach record prices ( in a few insider auctions , to start the bushfire , wink wink ) , then those who accumulated the ugly model in large quantities at dirt cheap prices will slowly start to sell to suckers with too much money burning through their pockets ....Rince repeat ..... I mean to invest in watches you not so much have to be a taste bound "parton of the arts" , you just have to know how a scam works , as well as reverse psychology .....It's MUCH better to enter a casino knowing how to count cards ......
It doesn’t actually have the Geneva Seal. Patek abandoned it a long time ago and instead created their own seal. And I totally agree about the movement. But the stamped dial at this price is inexcusable.
Your take on things is outstanding!! I agree with what you are saying 1000%. You truly have a gift when describing things to a dumbass like myself. You have a true gift in the way you illustrate things.
Thanks. I test all my ideas on my wife. If she thinks I'm boring, babbling on, overly detailed and way down a rabbit hole - The video tends to do well 😂😂😂
I think Patek customers are correct in expecting a hand decorated dial, and this stamped effort is clearly a cost saving process that degrades the brand. My main objection is the choice of case material. This would be so much better in a stainless steel case that better captures the sportiness and everyday usability of the watch. They could also significantly reduce the price in S/S that would attract more younger buyers.
The jewel encrusted nutless released at the Dubai Watch show shows Patek is pivoting to a new clientele (ballers, rappers and other nouveau rich types). Patek is turning into a richer nouveau rich than the Rolex client.
Another great review, Mike. And you aren’t reading from a script, you are just sitting there riffing. And never stumbling over words or getting tongue-tied. Your intelligence and watch knowledge is truly impressive. Keep doing these reviews!
Thanks! To be fair - I do write a script but I don't read off of it on camera. I do practice it some times before sitting down in front of the camera and then allow myself to go a little off script wherever I think it works 😊😊😊
I think it's good that Patek are putting out designs that look more casual and sporty for their dress watch line ups. It's to lure people away from Nautilus and Aquanauts. If there are people who don't like it, that means it's different, which is good. These watches would look great with a T-shirt and jeans. But a classic calatrava would look weird in the same outfit.
@@rosomak8244 The material is gold, the movement is still where no Rolex has ever come close to. The idea to charge any less than another white gold calatrava because it "looks plain" is stupid.
@@DonLee1980 You're making a good point: the only way to wear this watch is with the caseback facing out, as the movement is the only interesting part. The dial is a mish mash of various inspirations that's extraordinarily bland. I'm sure people will buy it simply because it's Patek, but there are far more interesting watches to be had with this kind of money.
@@johnnyguitar6697 lol, so you are the absolute standard of taste there is in this world right? there are plenty of people who like this design. Just because YOU don't like it, doesn't mean others don't. Many would argue that the traditional Calatrava looks grandpa-esque.
Looks like a fashion watch to me... Somehow, LV Tambour comes to mind, and that's not that bad a watch either... Still, the Patek looks cheap and ugly to me.
I often wondered when the law of diminishing returns kick in when considering fit, finish, and accuracy. Not sure anyone needs to spend anything more than Rolex at retail unless you appreciate the hand finished movements. Other than that, Rolex 10k-15k gives you everything you need especially with accuracy. My Rolexes are the most accurate movements I have ever seen in mechanical watches. I set my Rolex Explorer 40mm to a reference time 6 months ago and the watch is +7 seconds. I hate sounding like a Rolex fan boy but they produce almost the perfect watch for their retail price.
For me - It's around 6-8k. Consider this vid where I talk about diminishing returns ua-cam.com/video/9SmSxOLwh6w/v-deo.htmlsi=TRY8SDRMh03e5B7u Rolex comes pretty darned close to the perfect mass produced watch. 😃😃
Great job as always. I’m much more cynical - this is the entry Patek to start the relationship building to one day MAYBE be deemed worthy of getting one of the real Pateks. IWC: we’re going to come out with a watch (Ingenieur) and price it ridiculously. PP: hold our champagne…
Pagani Design just released their version 😊😊😊 I will probably buy it. Still around 130 euro, I will wait until it comes dowb below 70...😂😂😂 Yes, I am THAT cheap.
You can tell this is a Patek from the back... not from the front... If the Patek branding was not there I am not sure what brand I would expect to be on the dial. Money aside the dial reminds me of a factory with yellow safety paint. The pattern reminds me of aluminum plating on my bakkie's step. Why would you put such a gorgeous movement in such a weird watch? I would rather have the Tissot Sideral but neither of these appeal to me.
I dont like this watch. It reminds me of Cool Runnings from the early 90s or like a Poncho on a dial. I'm sure it's just me 😂 but yah I def wouldnt even pay $10k for it and most certainly wouldnt pay $37k for it! I'm sure the movement is lovely though.
Good stuff.Only error is they no longer have the Geneva Seal and it says PP in the shield on the movement.Another sneaky move by them.Hate their advertising;the bloody kids can buy their own Apple Watches.
If you want to spend that much money and are into „stealth wealth“ … go get a full white gold submariner .. looks like a ~12k steel dive watch but costs just under 40k. No real waitlist either. This Patek looks like an Omega or worse and looks like under 10k
This is Patek at its absolute laziest. A “sporty” dial with an inappropriate case, unmatched dial colour and the laughable power reserve. PP really need to stop coasting on their reputation.
The 6007 is a tacky horror that looks like you got it free with your Fiesta’s carbon trim floor mats. Patek’s direction is worrying: fat old oligarch wears Balenciaga shell suit. Hideously out of touch.
Some interesting thoughts but mostly it is simply overthinking the facts. The fact is that... if the 6007g design was invented by say a Hamilton then no one would buy them. It is not a good design, not classy and not timeless.
The stamped dial pattern does look cheap. If PP had hand engraved that section it would have had an entirely different depth and feel to it. I wouldn't buy it for 1/4 of the MSRP, because it doesn't feel like a true PP to me.
I disagree, it's a great watch apart from the red which looks wrong the blue and yellow look ok but it's 20k too much to be a lure watch and at 37k I don't really see a market except the odd billionaire buying it for his 18 year old kids birthday or maybe an art director looking to match his jacket.
Totally agree with most of your points, however I think this is one of the ugliest Patek watches ever created. It wants to be an Autodromo, and I like Autodromo watches.
Even the guilloche pattern on the 5935 salmon dial is stamped Patek is a business and they will want to get away with as much cost cutting as they can much like AP these days

Thanks for a great and thought provoking video.
Glad you enjoyed it 😃😃
I can’t say I agree with this very well thought out review.
2nd time I’ve caught one of your video’s.
Very good. Well constructed.
Might have to check out a few more, and then maybe subscribe.
Well done.
Hope you do. Thanks 😃
I have watched a zillion hours of runningmanz "Dave." Interesting seeing you here.
Great content. Well researched and brilliantly put together.
Thanks 😀😀
Beautiful watch!
Like I said - I like it... 😃
I like them too. Seen them multiple times, but I wouldn't pay that much for it. 6119G for me (or a Zeitwerk minute repeater) 😃😃😃
This reminds me of long gone Louis Vuitton looks at least the dial which is not a good thing.
This watch epitomises the fact that Patek is living on old glory and reputation and their new watches are really a few levels bellow the concurrent brands. Compare this to a random watch from A Lange or Vacheron or Glashutte Original
AS am I... They're on the way back up 😃
Sounds fair . I do prefer too the 6007a or the 5226
Give me a Nomos Club Sport Neomatik 39 Tabac over this PP any day of the week. Now that's a REALLY cool watch.
Have to agree with you there. The nomos is quite special… 👍👍👍
This watch is a casual daily for a guy who owns a minute repeater and datograph platinum. Such pieces make more sense when put into context
Maybe.... If I had a minute repeater, my daily would be a Royal Oak extra thin.... 😃😃
@@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch also a good choice - daily for my daily:)
1 big problem. 30m water resistance.
It definitely doesn’t align with the sports look.
Don't get me started on water resistance.... 😂😂
30 Metre water resistance! That’s a deal breaker. What the hell is going down in the Stern family? Thierry bump his head on a ski lift?
Going to buy this one and the weekly calendar just cause they are awesome.
Lucky you 👍👍
@@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch in my working days, visually seeing the entire year like this all the time would have been really healthy.
Very interesting questions and answers
Enjoyed it
Thanks - Glad you found it worth your time 😃😃
Does not have a Geneva seal…
Correct. Patek only puts on its own PP “seal,” which is a joke.
Made up certification 1. Made up certification 2. 😂
@@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch Maybe but there is still perceived value just like buying any rolex instead of paying half for a superior Omega!
It's aimed at a new audience for sure 😊😊
As for rainbow gem watches - I find very very few attractive .
Absolutely 100 % agree on your saying !
Thank you! Nobody is forcing you I hope, but thank you nonetheless 😂😂😃
Was the original 6007 non coloured dial not stamped?
Stamped (embossed) as well... 😃😃
You are dead right.
I think it's a beautiful watch but will not appeal to a Patek wearer.
Obsessive Patek collectors are another species - they won't be able to restrain themselves as one day this will be a very special Patek.
it's as though their designers created something for another brand.
Your analysis is superb.
Thanks - Glad you felt it resonated 😃
AP Code 11:59 steel dials are stamped.
Correct. That also was a bit of a controversy 😃😃
I purchased unworn blue for 24k with box and papers. ❤ it. If RMs can sell bonbon shit . Technically it costed me as much as a strap of some limited RMs. Price all in the perspective in luxury scene.
I want one. Can’t afford it right now but I still want it. 😆
In other words, no need for Patek to come to us. We will go to Patek, as and when we can.
lol. true 😂😂
6:50 that 6007A ❤❤❤
You and me both 😃😃
With an auto wind movement, at this point in time, one would expect a better PR.
Maybe.... TIme will tell 😀😀In the meantime I'm off to buy a Cactus Jack AP 😂😂
That's the thing. They caught a brief hype moment but they don't seem to have the staying power 😃😃
I like the Tissot Sideral better, but I'm not a Patek Philippe client either.
Sideral is so cool.... 😃😃
Not my kind of watch, but great video!:)
As long as you like the vid, I'm happy. 😃😃
I could really see myself wearing this watch on casual Fridays at the office. Except, maybe, with a $37000 hole in my bank account.
😂😂😂
How can Patek Philippe produce a watch like this? Even as a peasant I know that this time piece is below their standard. I think it's "lit" and that should be enough to make Patek shudder.
a sport watch with 30m water résistance is just a shame
don't get me started 😂
Apropos:not too keen on the side view 5:52. I appreciate the technical attempt (conforms to film grammar?) , but I find it distracting & er, I'm not the target audience for close ups of other gents ( one can me names) or most other people.
Great video and on point
Glad you think so! 😃😃
Keep it classy and Ed Sheeran has zero influence on what I will or ever buy, but he does have good taste!
That's my point. Man has some real watch game 😃😃
Nice but now on C24 for under list
Yep. Not even Patek holds value on all models 😃
A $37,000 field watch? Which idiot thought that this was a good idea? Did the guy not know what field watches are made for?
Field watches should be
- for the outdoors
- extremely durable
- cheap enough that even if you accidentally smashed it, it won't hurt to replace it.
At $37,000. That watch will stay indoor. On a rich man's wrist who would be wearing suits or semi formal most of the time. And no sane rich man in a suit or semi formal would have this thing on his wrist. They would put a much more elegant dress watch on their wrist instead of this.
Nice
👍
Nevermind, this will be a white gold ticket of the waiting game.
Possibly for some 😃😃
It’s not like they’re replacing the classics, they’re expanding the range.
I don’t think any core Patek buyer will suddenly lose brand loyalty because Patek are offering something they don’t want. I’d say the noisiest of the whingers are the least likely to afford to buy anything on offer.
Maybe - We'll see in the end. Buyers are sometimes fickles as to what turns them off. 😊
Design wise, VC 56 did it better
Agree 😃😃
Most underrated Patek reference.
I'm going 5226 for underrated personally 😊
@@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch That watch is so good!
That buckle is hideous lol
"Glashutte" is pronounced "Glahs-hoot-uh." The Patek I always thought looked like a casino roulette. Personally, Patek or not, it's pretty ugly.
Not on this channel. Here it's Glass hut. Long Jeans. and yayger le colter. 😂
Hmm, another cheap looking patek. Looks like the company is clueless.
I had it in hand again today and although I like it, I cannot fathom it's 37K... 😃
Fugly watch. Hate the date window at 3 and the dial design. Totally overpriced watch.
It doesn’t actually have the Geneva Seal. Patek abandoned it a long time ago and instead created their own seal. And I totally agree about the movement. But the stamped dial at this price is inexcusable.
That stamped dial is really a big deal breaker for people 😊😊
Your take on things is outstanding!!
Good points! 😃
The jewel encrusted nutless released at the Dubai Watch show shows Patek is pivoting to a new clientele (ballers, rappers and other nouveau rich types). Patek is turning into a richer nouveau rich than the Rolex client.
Great observation. Sad
All fine and good. However the price is plain and simply ridiculous.
Maybe - It definitely offers something different from regular Patek fare... 😃
It’s sad because the 6000 and 6006 were relatively innovative and quirky, whereas this just looks like a tissot.
Harsh 😂😂😂
Lol. Someone from Patek watching this and thinking.."bro, thanks for 15 min analyzation, but we just wanted to add some color..."😂😂
That is how psychiatrists make their money, yes... 😂😂
45 hour power reserve on a $37,000 watch? Nothing special.
Surprisingly not an important feature of many high end watches 😃😃
@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch Probably because they keep them in a safety deposit box, most of the time.
I don't like this carbon-like $hit :/
The price of this thing is not about any return. It's pure *obscenity*.
For me - It's around 6-8k. Consider this vid where I talk about diminishing returns
ua-cam.com/video/9SmSxOLwh6w/v-deo.htmlsi=TRY8SDRMh03e5B7u
Rolex comes pretty darned close to the perfect mass produced watch. 😃😃
Unless you were only wearing Seiko's before owning a Rolex, +7 seconds a day is nothing remarkable.
The amazing thing is how Patek still can't make a movement that can survive any kind of knock.
Lol. Love the IWC - Patek imagery. Probably not far off 😂😂😂
My 3rd gen Vacheron Constantin Overseas also has no stop seconds 😂
Poor you 😂😂
Pagani Design just released their version 😊😊😊
I will probably buy it.
Still around 130 euro, I will wait until it comes dowb below 70...😂😂😂 Yes, I am THAT cheap.
lol 😂😂
You can tell this is a Patek from the back... not from the front... If the Patek branding was not there I am not sure what brand I would expect to be on the dial. Money aside the dial reminds me of a factory with yellow safety paint. The pattern reminds me of aluminum plating on my bakkie's step. Why would you put such a gorgeous movement in such a weird watch? I would rather have the Tissot Sideral but neither of these appeal to me.
That's the thing. I like it, but it's more Nomos than Patek up front... 😃😃
You might be right there! Have a great weekend Mike!
This is like the rolls Royce’s cullinan. Completely unnecessary but at the same time absolute essential if you are a collector.
Phantom all the way for me 😊😊
Any thoughts on the weekly calendar 5212a steel calatrava
Never seen it in the metal unfortunately... I've always liked the simplicity of it considering how much information it's communicating 😃
There are only two patek watches I really like and eventually want to get hold of: The Golden eclipse and steel aquanaut.
Steel aquanaut.... *drools..... 😂😂
Sanka. You dead mon? 😂😂
Good stuff.Only error is they no longer have the Geneva Seal and it says PP in the shield on the movement.Another sneaky move by them.Hate their advertising;the bloody kids can buy their own Apple Watches.
Lol 😂😂
If you want to spend that much money and are into „stealth wealth“ … go get a full white gold submariner .. looks like a ~12k steel dive watch but costs just under 40k. No real waitlist either. This Patek looks like an Omega or worse and looks like under 10k
WG Sub? Would be my choice as well of the two 😃😃😃
This is Patek at its absolute laziest. A “sporty” dial with an inappropriate case, unmatched dial colour and the laughable power reserve. PP really need to stop coasting on their reputation.
I saw it again in store today. Still cannot understand it. Would like it if it was a Nomos 😃😃
The 6007 is a tacky horror that looks like you got it free with your Fiesta’s carbon trim floor mats. Patek’s direction is worrying: fat old oligarch wears Balenciaga shell suit. Hideously out of touch.
Love the imagery 😂😂
Not Geneva seal since 2009 and the use of silicon
Nope. PP seal. true. 😃
Some interesting thoughts but mostly it is simply overthinking the facts. The fact is that... if the 6007g design was invented by say a Hamilton then no one would buy them. It is not a good design, not classy and not timeless.
Lol. Overthinking? Me? Never 😂😂😂😂
The stamped dial pattern does look cheap. If PP had hand engraved that section it would have had an entirely different depth and feel to it. I wouldn't buy it for 1/4 of the MSRP, because it doesn't feel like a true PP to me.
It’s really dawning on me how much that stamping means to people. Thanks for sharing 😀😀
I disagree, it's a great watch apart from the red which looks wrong the blue and yellow look ok but it's 20k too much to be a lure watch and at 37k I don't really see a market except the odd billionaire buying it for his 18 year old kids birthday or maybe an art director looking to match his jacket.
Do agree on the target market 😃😃
Totally agree with most of your points, however I think this is one of the ugliest Patek watches ever created. It wants to be an Autodromo, and I like Autodromo watches.
Lol 😂😂
Even the guilloche pattern on the 5935 salmon dial is stamped
Patek is a business and they will want to get away with as much cost cutting as they can much like AP these days
Which shouldn't be the case in the high end 😃😃
You can't pay that money for this no matter what movement is in it.
I wouldn't... 😃😃
No way any watch is worth that much and yeah, I know there are many more expensive watches too. Watch people are almost as delusional as audiophiles!
Hey hey. Those 1000 dollar pr meter cables are totally what makes the difference sonicly!!!! 😃
