We've unboxed ThinkPad P14s Gen 2 (AMD). Its basically it's a T14 Gen 2 AMD in all but name. Its based on the same hardware (small difference: being marketed as the prosumer version - it has ISV support, useful for CAD/design). Spec: AMD Ryzen™ 7 PRO 5850U, 16 GB DDR4 3200MHz Onboard; 256GB SSD; 14.0" FHD IPS Anti-Glare 300nits Multitouch.

Bought with own money, not a review unit. Review coming late next week. Would have preferred to review the T14 Gen 2 - but that's not availability for a while - this is a "as good as" proxy instead.
Correction: 3:34 - we're meant to say that the P14s Gen 2 unit has the option for 4K Dolbyvision display (missing in Gen 1); we've actually got the 300nits touch panel
Where can I buy the ThinkPad P14s Gen 2 (AMD)?

I believe the P14s Gen2 has Radeon Pro Graphics with 4GB Graphics Memory...not identical....yes?
Thanks a lot. You really helped me to decide. Subscribed, liked, wish success in future, cheers...
Much appreciated.
Would love to see something in the review about the integrated graphics since the Intel version comes with a basic Quadro card and for this model they are only listing 4GB of integrated VRAM. Curious to see how that would compare to something like the integrated graphics in the M1 Macbook Air/Pro. Also would love to know how the battery life of this AMD version compares to the Intel T14s Gen 2 / P14s Gen 2 to see if there's an advantage to choosing AMD even if you lose the graphics card. Thanks, very interested.
I think the Intel wins. I searched this model for that reason...The intel was nvidia quadro 4gb Vram. The ryzen variant doesn't have any.
I am interested in this laptop. Please make detailed measurements for CPU cores and surface palmrest and keyboard temperatures. This processor is a beast, i hope the laptops cooling system can handle it.
Usually the reviews contain that. 🙂👍
Brilliant. I ordered one at a student discount (pretty much all spect out for 1400€) and it's supposed to arrive in a week. Does it have a replaceable wifi/bt module? I'm planning to run Linux on it and really don't want to deal with the realtek chip. Looking forward to the review.
We've added an internal shot earlier.

Wi-fi is swappable on the AMD model (Intel is soldered I think).
@@GreenGreenStore that's great news, thanks for letting me know
@CruiseTech Could you write some details about cpu throttling? I booked my P14s UHD with AMD Ryzen 5850 but then if found a lot of posts about CPU throttling in Intel based models. This laptop ain't cheap, I don't what have cpu performance issues during my work. Please check cpu temp and speed. I have to decide by the end of the week whether I am buying this laptop or not.
Should be in the review.
@@GreenGreenStore Can't wait to see.
Will you be doing a full review of it?
Probably ready in a week.
Could you test out the laptop sleep mode function to see if it correctly goes to sleep and does not auto wake up?
The Gen 1 AMD model which I am using suffers from it... especially when plugged into the USB-C dock.
When not plugged in, needs 2 tries (Fn+4) at least to put it to sleep.
Probably will reply as a comment than to include in the review if we get to this. Have given up trying to use the sleep mode on the Gen 1 myself because it seems to awake randomly / reverted to hibernation to be sure. Haven't tested the most recent Gen 1 bios though.
@@GreenGreenStore icic.... guess we both have similar issues with Gen 1. Would be good to know if its fixed in Gen 2.
You've seen this already I imagine?

Please make a video on ThinkPad E14 Gen3 (Ryzen 5 5500U).
It's basically the E14 Gen 2 with updated CPU. We've already reviewed the Gen 2. Unsure if we'll see them in stock for a while.
@@GreenGreenStore One more question: Should I go for ThinkPad E14 or Vostro 5415? First priority is build quality and longevity.
Both are available in my region😅
P14s gen 2 is 150 dollar priced high than t14s gen 2. With same configuration. Is p14s superior than t14s ?

@@GreenGreenStore any heads up on p14s vs t14s ?
If you assume P14s Gen 2 is basically the pro version if the T14 Gen 2. The link has what you need, we post the link so we don't have to repeat ourselves. 🙂👍
wow new charger is really impressive
🤭👍
I have dell inspiron 16plus and the charger is like a brick, heavy af and huge xD it's nice to see someone actually trying to build nice and compact/portable chargers
