Also why isn't Tifa (and everyone) not more cautious around him? Like for all they know, any moment he could lose it and try to kill them. Shouldn't they all avoid being alone with him, or at least take his sword away when they're not actively in a fight?

I don’t think they know the entire process of being a SOLDIER. At the very least, they only know that SOLDIER are bathed in mako, but being injected with Jenova cells is kept secret, with cellular degradation being its only hint. In the OG, Ckoud only reveals this to them at the end of Disc 2, so it’s safe to say no one knows about Jenova’s involvement
I think Barret noticed when cloud tried walking off a bridge lol And my theory is that Tifa knows that cloud is in trouble after her visit to the life stream
27 years ago, Sephiroth's biggest problem was Aerith. She was the only one who could compete with Sephiroth's power. Even now, that fact remains the same. However, Sephiroth is now beginning to see Tifa as a threat to his plans just as much as Aeris. In the past, Tifa was nothing more than a thorn in Sephiroth's eyes. However, since Cloud, who is supposed to be his puppet, is with Tifa, he is the key to getting out of his control and threatening himself, so if Aeris is just interfering, Tifa tries to kill him right now, which shows that Tifa is that important to Cloud.
Plus Tifa should have understood that Cloud was experimented on by Hojo. That is why he had those never ending breakdowns all thanks to Hojo but she just keeps thinking Cloud is alright but he is not all right.
@@SoraWorkerDrone Tifa doesn't know what exactly happened to Cloud. Yes, SOLDIERs are experimented on but Cloud went much further than this. Tifa doesn't know what happened after Nibelheim (remember that for her, Cloud was never there) and in the same way, she didn't know about how Jenova cells can influence their hosts nor how Sephiroth can use them. Nobobody aside from Sephiroth himself (and Hojo) knew about it for that matter.
It's so interesting to see. It's clear Sephiroth wants Tifa dead so she can't help cloud recover. The weapon swallowed her so she wouldn't get caught by Sephiroth in the mako.
the whites are Aerith's but for the blacks I'm a bit confused...Like I know they are Sephiroth's but at the same time I thought that they were the arbitrers of Fate.
@@mori_san8206 I could be wrong about basically all of this, but: As far as I understand it, the Whispers from Remake are indeed gone for good. The black ones with the purple orbs inside belong to Sephiroth. The game describes the white Whispers as ones that show when someone is trying to "prevent the inevitable", so I'm not entirely sure if they actually belong to Aerith or if they're just a different kind of Whispers that we saw in Remake.
@@lavishlyvice Think Cloud says that Sephiroth’s Whispers don’t belong to Fate or the Planet. Given that Fate’s Whispers are the grey ones and Sephiroth’s are the black ones, think it’s safe to assume that the white ones belong to the planet tho that’s only a assumption from Cloud.

I don't think so. He didn't sound unhinged here. He's being manipulated, yeah, but there's a moment that's worse. And it just sounds.... so wrong hearing Cloud sound that way. And oddly enough, a phrase Barret used back in the start of remake played in my head. "Stamp scared to bite the hand that fed 'im? Or is he a loyal liddle doggie?"
You know, for all the folk claiming this game makes them hate Cloud-- it's making me actually like Cloud. I never was a fan of him as a protagonist of the original, and the reason was entirely due to the scene where he gives Sephiroth the Black Materia while Tifa is begging him not to. To me, it came out of left field and felt like "oh sad boy realized his past is a lie so he deliberately gives the antagonist a means to destroy the whole world." And I remember thinking, really? What about Tifa, what about his friends, what about Aerith's memory-- really you're just gonna say fuck all of it and everyone? Even if your memories are all fake, you're just gonna be cool with all of them being killed? With the whole world going down? I couldn't relate to it and it never felt justified even after he pieced his mind back together. But this-- this re-contextualizes all of it in a way that makes that make sense. Cloud's not just a sad boy who is fugueing a lie about his past. He's completely detached from all reality full-stop because of Jenova and has been since the moment he walked into Midgar. He's almost schizophrenic. It's like he's not even sure the world under his feet is not an illusion. He gets tricked into attacking Barret. The same happens with Aerith. Even his own childhood friend whom he's always harbored feelings for-- even she he thinks is an illusion to the point he hurts her and almost kills her. There are all these moments where visions of 'Sephiroth' are fucking with him. He starts saying things that sound overly cold and don't make sense, like a total other person is in control. All of the party give him these meaningful looks constantly where it's clear they think he's losing his mind. And when Aerith dies, he loses it even more to the point he thinks she's alive. It's trippy to see how cooked his brain is right now and with that in mind, it doesn't seem so farfetched anymore why he'd give Sephiroth the black materia. It's not just boo hoo my past is wrong fuck everybody. It's utter and complete madness, the final destination in his progressive retreat into solipsism. In turn, that makes Sephiroth's fall that much more understandable too. He too seemed normal, even likable in the beginning. But that trip to Nibelheim, to where Jenova was, broke him. It wasn't just he learned what he thought the truth of his past was and fell from that. The alien thing is directly influencing him by osmosis, distorting his reality, and despite being the strongest SOLDIER to have ever lived, he fails and becomes her puppet because of it. While the 'puppet' that is Cloud, a failure who never made SOLDIER, will ultimately reclaim his life and sanity. That just makes the central conflict that much better and more poetic in a way the original never really did for me. I might have my criticisms of SE and this whole sequel trilogy, but at least in this aspect, they've managed to do things very well.
I noticed how in FF7 there are actually plenty of ironies with both the characters and the story. But one irony in particular is how despite Sephiroth appears to be the one who controls Jenova to carry out his actions in both OG and Remake, it is actually him who is under Jenova’s control, because he himself is also brainwashed to carry out her goal of world domination once he found out his relation to her. Even more ironically, he keeps harassing Cloud because it is he who lives inside of Sephiroth’s head - the one person who defeated him where others like Zack, Angeal, Genesis all couldn’t
I'm really glad ti find a person so able to really think, reflect and change his iniziale ideas...Indeed,One of the thing that the devs are doing,in this remake,Is showing US what really means to fallo under Total control of Someone or Something whitout any possibility to defend himself...Cloud Is showing US what happened to Sephiroth, what Jenova did to him and how cruel It can be,Because It makes the other see you Just likes a Monster, makes the other hate you,NEVER trust you,Wish Just to kill you,and give the fault fir everything Is happening....This has been the situation for Sephiroth since After the incidente of Nibelheim...

We haven't reached the point where Tifa helps piece Cloud back together yet in the remake. Rebirth ends after the Forgotten Capital/Aerith's death, Cloud and Tifa falling into the lifestream doesn't occur until a while after that.
The other Sephiroth is going to help Cloud become the true hero he is supposed to be in the third game. Zack will be the main character of the third game as well. Cloud is too far gone at this point.
This is perhaps one of the biggest bits of tomfoolery Sephiroth partakes in The biggest is probably when he gaslights Cloud into thinking he is the fake. Though let’s save that bit of trolling for part 3
You're not so fare from the Truth....in this sequence there are TWO Sephiroth...the One Who push Cloud against Tifa, and the other One,the One inside the pool of Mako. This One Is DIFFERENT...he's not trying to kill Tifa(he could do It very easily,if he really wold want,Tifa Is trapped inside the Weapon, cannot defend herself) but, instead, help the weapon to free itself from the black whispers that are attacking, and Pierce the ball to force the weapon to emerge ti release Tifa. The White whispers dont't recognize him as enemy, and don't Attack him. We'll see this Sephiroth in the third part of the game, and we'll know much more about him and his role in the story
Today I saw the ending of this game. It became clear that the woman Sephiroth would be most interested in was Tifa. She is the main factor that makes Cloud strong and independent. In other words, this is a very uncomfortable situation for fans who loved Tifa and people like me who liked seeing the relationship between Cloud and Tifa. If she were the target of that day 27 years ago, Cloud would see despair from which he could never escape, and that would not be a pleasant experience for people like me. I sincerely hope they overcome this crisis.
I don't think it's the mako memories Tifa and Cloud get in the OG after falling into the lifestream, just another to show Tifa that Cloud was always here for her so that their relationship would grow stronger. It's a sequel to the OG but as if the characters had to restart it all as a parallel world of the OG, and everything changes since Sephiroth and Aerith seem to have knowledge of their OG timeline. With that we see Sephiroth doing things he never did before like retarding Cloud's meeting with Aerith or trying to kill Tifa to break Cloud's mind more to a point of non-return, still I wonder why is he suddently so interested in Cloud and obsessed to have him by his side in his plan rather than killing him since he knows the ending of the OG...Does he know something we don't about Cloud ?
I know this whole scenario was meant to be dramatic and all, but when Barret bitch slaps Cloud in the face, that just breaks immersion for me and I laugh my ass off.
In Japanese, Sephiroth says, "Those you fear, those you love." Later, when Cloud repeats those words, he switches them around to "Those you LOVE, those you fear" when looking at Tifa. It's nuances like these that get lost in localisation.
Those we love those we love so tifa definitely are the one he love 😊 but i am so heart pain alittle when he stab tifa even though he is being manipulate by sephiroth 😂oh my ..
I think the same as you But when I posted this idea to the FF7R community, I was banned. CloTi is now mainstream Telling the truth is the future of domestic violence We are still in the war drum period. When will we be able to speak philosophy in a civilized manner?
@@Just_A_Random_Desk you make me feel so comforted Really, really, really, really thank you Cloud looks so much like Darth Vader from Star Wars. Haha, I don't know. I saw some flirting between Sephiroth and Tifa in the crisis core. Maybe he's jealous of Cloud? It's a funny take and I know it's not a thing. It's an interesting thought though.
@@crissy5019 he didn't... He tried to kill her twice.. once through Cloud and the second by killing her through suffocating in the lifestream. The Weapon monster and the white whispers were trying to keep her alive.
@@OldManSakaki I think he was going straight for her while in the weapon’s belly, but barely missed her by a few inches. Drowning however, would finish the job since the hole he created would flood the belly with the mako
I was very disappointed with the lifestream sequence, i was hoping the memory sequence would be about finding out more about her mother or happy moments with both her parents or Jessie, or training she did with Zangan that shaped her entire life but nooooooooo it's just straight up cloud smh.
I think the main reason why Sephiroth kills Aerith at the end instead of Tifa, because Tifa has insanely strong physical strength and quick dexterity. He can't kill her, he's infact not that strong phsycally since he's a "ghost", even when Tifa is weak in Weapon she literally dodged his masamune. If only he tries to stab Tifa as he does to Aerith, she'll no doubt dodge it. Therefore he tried to get rid of her through Cloud, multiple times, failed, once he tried himself, failed, well, "The last light is the hardest to get rid off" - Sephiroth to Cloud in Kingdom Hearts
Typical, they had an opportunity to showcase memories during the lifestream of Tifa's parents, Zangan teachings etc but no it had to be cloud smh cmon.
It’s really interesting how Tifa wasn’t able to get Cloud to regain control and snaps out of puppet mode and he hurt her But when Sephiroth used Aerith he couldn’t hurt her one bit and fought Sephiroth’s contol over him This man is really in love with Aerith ♥️
I dunno, but I think if the story in rebirth goes like this, Tifa should have died in the weapon's belly. It's just too impossible for her to be spared. The weapons are real killers,
Sephiroth knows Tifa is the love of Cloud’s life and the only one who can repair his memory and bring the real Cloud completely out of that false persona he created. So he tries to influence Cloud to kill her. And when that fails he tries to do it himself.
Sephiroth's control over Cloud is a lot scarier in this game than in OG. Like, we really get to see more examples of Sephiroth using Cloud as a puppet to just break him and try to destroy his friendships.

In the OG, Ckoud only reveals this to them at the end of Disc 2, so it’s safe to say no one knows about Jenova’s involvement
I think Barret noticed when cloud tried walking off a bridge lol
And my theory is that Tifa knows that cloud is in trouble after her visit to the life stream
Tifa's known Cloud's been having problems since Midgar, she just didn't know how severe it was until Kalm.
This is true
EXACTLY 💯
Mommy? Daddy? Please don't fight!! 😢
This is so messed up man... Tifa doesn't deserve this... Cloud doesn't deserve this. They're all victims of circumstance
Thank you
I don't really call being mind and body controlled by a genocidal maniac with godhood delusions circumstances though
I feel bad for cloud
the music starts to play in the life stream is amazing.
This game is very Tifa based... And i loved it.
It's so interesting to see. It's clear Sephiroth wants Tifa dead so she can't help cloud recover. The weapon swallowed her so she wouldn't get caught by Sephiroth in the mako.
That whispers even have white and black two editions 😵
the whites are Aerith's but for the blacks I'm a bit confused...Like I know they are Sephiroth's but at the same time I thought that they were the arbitrers of Fate.

I liked how Sephiroth tried to kill her. That proves she is very important. The white wisper saved her life because she had to live.
Cloud was always a character full of layers and full of tragedy but man this is soooo much worse than the OG, he really feels like Sephiroth's puppet, like can't my boy be happy for 1 second?
Awesome scene but man that weapon creature thing scares the shit outta me lol esp when it popped out of the water and just hovered above them like that 😬 looking like that majoras mask water temple boss lol
I suspect this scene is foreshadowing for Part 3 - instead of falling directly into the Lifestream, Cloud and Tifa will get swallowed by one of these WEAPONs and that's how the memory thing plays out

I wonder if this was the unhinged scene Cody (Cloud's VA) was talking about.
Theres one scene thats even worse...
I don't think so. He didn't sound unhinged here. He's being manipulated, yeah, but there's a moment that's worse. And it just sounds.... so wrong hearing Cloud sound that way. Dude he even holds the sword like Sepiroth. The bullet dodge...so sick
Sephiroth is just fucking with Cloud at this point. Just toying with him until he breaks, and then no one will be able to stop him from using Meteor.
Sephrioth: Strike her down my apprentice. Do it
You know, for all the folk claiming this game makes them hate Cloud-- it's making me actually like Cloud.
I don't hate cloud after this . I hate sephiroth .
@@sanzianagoglinache8696 probably you'd Better hate Shinra,Hojo and Jenova, since Sephiroth Is in no way differenti from Cloud....Cloud Is a puppet of the being we call Sephiroth, but Sephiroth actually Is Just a Vessel of Jenova's Will,a puppet himself....

the entire gongaga reactor story was amazing
So, in the Original, Tifa was able to piece Cloud back together.
But in here, Cloud is too far gone.
Thus, "Your words can't reach him now."
No Tifa pieces Cloud together when they both fall in later
We haven't reached the point where Tifa helps piece Cloud back together yet in the remake. Rebirth ends after the Forgotten Capital/Aerith's death, Cloud and Tifa falling into the lifestream doesn't occur until a while after that.
The other Sephiroth is going to help Cloud become the true hero he is supposed to be in the third game. Zack will be the main character of the third game as well. Cloud is too far gone at this point.
Dude Cloud is dodging fucking bullets wth
I would've liked them to showcase tifa being very reluctant or hesitant to go near cloud that would have been a realistic reaction.
This is perhaps one of the biggest bits of tomfoolery Sephiroth partakes in
The biggest is probably when he gaslights Cloud into thinking he is the fake. Though let’s save that bit of trolling for part 3
my dumbass thought sephiroth was helping cloud here until the tifa part 💀💀
The other Sephiroth will be our ally in the third game. The true hero Sephiroth.@@federicamacchia1656

I sincerely hope they overcome this crisis.
kind of confuse that they did the whole mako memories earlier, then i remember this is not a remake, but a sequel, or a Requel of some sort.

I need to find the theme omg it’s sooo good. Reminds me of Luke and vaders fight theme
Didn't pay the original. Is this the part where tifa slapped scarlett?
Go play the original and find out
I think the main reason why Sephiroth kills Aerith at the end instead of Tifa,
because Tifa has insanely strong physical strength and quick dexterity.
He can't kill her,
he's infact not that strong phsycally since he's a "ghost", even when Tifa is weak in Weapon she literally dodged his masamune. If only he tries to stab Tifa as he does to Aerith, she'll no doubt dodge it.
Therefore he tried to get rid of her through Cloud, multiple times, failed, once he tried himself, failed, well,
"The last light is the hardest to get rid off"
- Sephiroth to Cloud in Kingdom Hearts
Ele só queria dar mais uma olhadinha nas tetonas da Tifa 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Typical, they had an opportunity to showcase memories during the lifestream of Tifa's parents, Zangan teachings etc but no it had to be cloud smh cmon.
It’s really interesting how Tifa wasn’t able to get Cloud to regain control and snaps out of puppet mode and he hurt her
But when Sephiroth used Aerith he couldn’t hurt her one bit and fought Sephiroth’s contol over him
This man is really in love with Aerith ♥️
I dunno, but I think if the story in rebirth goes like this, Tifa should have died in the weapon's belly. It's just too impossible for her to be spared. The weapons are real killers,
Cloud should have finished off Tifa.
