Thanks for all the clarifications about Bahamut and blue glow = limit break! For some reason I just did not make the connection in the moment that it was Bahamut, and I must have missed the blue glow in OG7. It's all cleared up now though. :)
Nice Reaction :) About Rebirth or more the Remake Trilogy completely.. I am pretty sure that they will connect it somehow to after Advent Children, like Sephiroth came somehow back and traveled back in time to stop it all from happening! But I somehow also feel like this time he has not a bad goal like he said to Cloud in the End of FFVII Remake, he want to work together with Cloud to stop something bigger..! I wonder how and how is it connected to the Whisperer or more the Arbiter of Fate which came because of the Events don't happen like they should the..the Big Change basically! After all I am all hyped for Rebirth and the third part of the Trilogy of course too! :D
Very little known fun fact: If you look at the runtime of the movie from Cloud beating Kadaj to defeating Sephiroth, Cloud won in exactly 10 minutes. Barret said "I'll give him ten minutes" when he was inside Cid's ship, which doesn't seem to be taken seriously at all and shouldn't be. Not to mention, Cloud didn't actually hear Barret say that but still managed to do it.
Actually that wasn't braver that was the original omnislash cloud tried but sephiroth learn from his mistakes and parried, than cloud was like ok fine than ill omnislash version 5 him which caught sephiroth off gaurd
Its first released in 2005. This one she watch is 2008 extended cut version. They add 30 minutes to flesh out story. I knew this because i bought VCD version and the OG cut has different scenes from this extended cut. When sephiroth stabbed cloud, cloud sit down and leans back against building debris behind his back. Another thing is when cloud using his ultimate, he glowing in yellow
@@boboboy8189 Now that you mentioned it, I was like why is this different than what I remember. I first watched it as PSP UMD. I still have a screenshot of I guess an alpha version. In the the screenshot Cloud fights Kadaj with the buster sword.
I was 10 years old watching this it blew my mind away watched it everyday on my dvd portable 😂 but I never saw the extended scenes version 😅 that made me love it even more
it's not made SUPER clear, but here are the pieces, as I see them: basically after the events of FF7 proper, it's implied that Cloud and Tifa are settled into a kinda-sorta shared living arrangement. They reconstructed 7th Heaven in the newly-built Midgar Edge, a city several miles removed from Midgar proper, and Cloud acts as a courier for Strife Delivery Service, a side-hustle to the bar that puts more bread on the table. Tifa looks after Marlene while Barrett is off looking for fossil fuels and mining, and then Cloud and Tifa adopted Denzel after they found him (about a year before Advent Children starts). then, probably a few months before AC, Cloud contracted Geostigma. so he left to look for a cure, for Denzel's sake (and probably to keep from infecting Tifa or anybody else), and the whole time Sephiroth's ghost is whispering in his ear and digging up insecurities. so that's why he ends up ghosting Tifa, holding his 'family' at arm's length just cuz he's scared of hurting them or losing them. ....god I love this movie. it has NOWHERE NEAR the time it needs to properly tell this story, but goddammit they tried. and the beats that do hit, hit all the harder for it.
@@trawll8659 Correct. The book left me with the impression that they were a couple but having a hard time. Also the book is extremely interesting if you want a really solid idea of where the Remake series is going and how it makes sense from the Lifestream's perspective. Nojima laid out a lot of ideas there that the FFVII devs are using now.
At the end of the movie Cloud not only has a picture of his family and friends but also a flower and pictures of flower fields in his desk meaning that while he hasn’t forgotten Aerith (and probably never will) he needs to move on and try to find happiness with the people that are there for him. The movie might not be that good tbh but the whole theme of moving on doesn’t mean forgetting the people you loved is nice.
The complete version of the movie is a whole lot better than the original release. Still not what I'd call great but acceptable at least. I flat out disliked the original version of it.
My. Zerith. Heart AAAA Not only that, but the final scene where angeal's polished sword is in the church? Man, right in the feels! It symbolizes a lot of things to me, Clouds acceptance and honoring both of his friends + signifying zack and aerith's together in the lifestream? REEE but of course the last one might be bc I'm biased to zerith but whatever!!! hahaha
I love this movie, but it is so criminally misunderstood. Especially Clouds character, who is often criticized for being a whiny emo. People tend to think he's lovesick or that his character has in some way regressed, which basically means they weren't attention when playing FFVII and completely missed Clouds internal character arc and the nature of his mental health issues. He's not lovesick ya'll, he's going through fear of failure, ptsd, cherophobia, and survivors guilt. And he hasn't regressed either, he's not acting like his soldier persona, nor is he in denial of who he is, he is in the next stop towards self-acceptance.
He did regress. This isn't survivors guilt because he dealt with those issues in the original game. This is once again Square not knowing what they're doing. Cloud solved his identity issue and accepted Aerith's death during the game. The original creator even said the game was about accepting loss. Emo cloud is a compilation creation that like dirge of cerberus and quiet Aerith in the life stream is not in lore.
Respectfully, I disagree. You're just applying other labels (which are fair and true) and saying that he is not "emo." You can be "emo" as a result of those things, and it's also a fair thing t say. Do you see virtue to this reasoning?
He even says after recovering in Mideel. He isnt a first class soldier etc, he made peace with who he was. He already accepted himself in the original game. Then he accepts Aerith's sacrifice and even tells Tifa he finally understood and they should see her in the promised land one day. This is Nomura's hack writing again totally disrespecting and going back to the original vision. Not even the original cloud was depressed he wanted to be a hero and was very gung ho, he was only ashamed he didn't make SOLDIER. That was his only issue in his original personality before being injected with Jenova cells.
@@Thiago_Alves_SouzaCloud and the crew literally watched millions die in the battle between Meteor and Holy, and have been watching the aftermath of that and the spread of Geostigma continuing to wreak havoc in spite of Aerith’s sacrifice and all of the of the efforts they made. I see no reason why that couldn’t have weighed mentally on Cloud after the OG story ended and resulted in the character we see in this film. It’s why I never saw an issue with it. He needed to overcome those things in this movie in order to become closer to the Cloud we see in his childhood flashbacks.
@@omgyeti2049 what millions buddy? Holy and The life-stream saved the day. The game never addressed if these supposed deaths affected them, you're just making things up. Aerith affected them and the early members of avalanche in the beginning but Cloud hardly knew them but Barret and Tifa
In the original game, it was said the Jenova had also infected the ancients with a sickness, and when they died would use it's mimicry ability to impersonate dead loved ones to infect more. Jenova's evolutionary cycle is to infect others, then copy the best genetic traits from them into itself through Reunion, since it's DNA is described as a 'two way conduit' for genetic material. After a Reunion, and still defeated at the end of FF7, Geostigma was it trying to repeat this process again.
I'd love to know where this information is at in the game (sincerely)! I have never played and only watched bits and pieces on youtube, but have never heard of this until now
@@RandomBore4Ever By the Icicle Inn you can find old reports at Professor Gast's lab. There are a few videos regarding Gast and Ifalna (Aerith's mother and father) where she explains what she knows about Jenova not being a true Ancient.
Not confirmed, just hinted at slightly. Certainly likely a nod to them (even with the mistranslation most fans long to from the Ultimania guide.) I’m sure there will be more to them in Rebirth and beyond, as they certainly can’t/wont be left out, especially with Nomura.
@@shadowamigo9506 Sure maybe, but their weapons look closer to kadaj and co. in my opinion, especially the dual guns part. Also, I remember their description eluding to something like "fighting to preserve the future that created them" or something... Which sounds like of ff7 + Advent C... But hey, we might be looking too deep into this lol.
Having fun beats something making sense every time. I love this movie so much and I'm so glad you shared your reaction with us! So many little details I love: all the party wearing a pink ribbon in remembrance, the symbolism of the wolf and the characters who wear things bearing its icon, the photograph at the beginning and the end (with the flowers!), the end credits with Cloud zooming around on his bike, the limit breaks, the found family which is broken and then is found again, the semi-non-linear storytelling. Ugh, I could talk for ages lol. Honestly, the only thing missing for me was Cait Sith's giant stuffed moogle toy he rides in the game.
Blue glow is limit break... Every time Cloud was glowing, he was using one of his signature limit breaks from FF7 OG. Like the last two limit breaks he used against Sephiroth were Omnislash (which Sephiroth evaded easily because he already encountered it before when Cloud defeated him with the move in the Lifestream), and then the new version of Onnislash, which was enough to finally defeat Sephiroth in the movie...
The thing they fought near the end was Bahamut Sin although it's not stated in the film. Kadaj merged Jenova's head with him to become Sephiroth. This whole story stems from the Nibelheim incident. If you notice, all the main cast have a ribbon to honor Aerith. The pain Sephiroth is referring to is when he stabbed Cloud in the Nibelheim reactor. I think the move Cloud used what was called his Omnislash move but it's a modified one to the one we see in game. And you'll need to get used to pronouncing Cait Sith properly in the rebirth update :D.
Imagine this movie, but having about 30-45 minutes of it trimmed down. The scene showing the little girl carrying her brother and crying, the scene showing denzel alone with clouds phone talking to tifa, it was all left out of the initial cut, and left WAY too much to the imagination. The complete version really made it perfect. You understood more of why geostigma was so terrifying. It was a sickness of the SOUL that degraded the body the same way jenova cells degraded Genesis and Angeal and all of the sephiroth clones, but this time it was EVERYBODY. When i saw the dvd version i was like "oh cool, ff7" but watching THIS version i had the same reaction as you, just tears and shock and awe Great video, i loved seeing your genuine reactions
Fuck Denzel. He shouldn't even exist. The entire reason he was made for is for censoring Cloud and Tifa's relationship so they could pretend like those two never ever got physical. Same reason they're shown sleeping in separate beds.
There is a lot of action and a lot of stuff in this movie. But at its heart it's a story as you said about cloud moving on dealing with grief. And his family in tifa Denzel, Marlene and their rest of their friends helping him through We know from the start cloud was never a strong person which is why he clung so hard to Zack. But with people he cares about and depend on him, he becomes strong. It's cliche but very powerful
I just saw this in the theater tonight and I must say back in 2005 when this movie 1st came out it still holds up today. Way ahead of it's time. It's nice to see a fellow admirer of this film and the only reason why it's underrated is because it's misunderstood.
Cloud never made soldier, despite that fact he still defeated Sephiroth and developed his own combat style and moves, such as omni slash. That’s pretty impressive considering he had no mentor like Zack did.
The "I want to be forgiven line" Always gives me chills some cause one of his biggest guilt was "letting" aerith die and not saving or protecting her. He held onto that guilt even in the game and honestly given all he experienced after her death, having the stigma and so on it makes sense hes handling alot of issues and keeping distance. When a person loses someone its normal to move away from others not wanting to experience that pain again. For cloud sadly it was not just loss but guilt blaming himself for her death made it worse.
Dude! I don't know in which order they did this, but the Zack scenes where he hands the Buster Sword to Cloud is exactly how it is in Crisis Core Reunion. When I realized that, my heart just melted in the best ways and felt so sad all at the same time! DX I'm also curious to see how much they tie in the Remake trilogy into Advent Children. I hear that they're going to do it, but I'm curious. The location that they live at is called Edge. Or at least that's what I've heard it called. Not sure if that's exactly it. It's a new city built in the wake of Midgar's destruction. The blue glow is a movie version of a limit break. Also when Sephiroth stabs Cloud the first time, it's the exact same way he stabbed Cloud in the Nibelheim reactor the first time the two of them fought.
I played the original game back then with my older brother (we were 10 and 13, we didn't understand anything and didn't find the hidden Zack scene). I loved the game, and when advent children came out I watched it but I still didn't understand anything (still didn't know wtf Zack was lol) then few years later I got the PSP and played Crisis Core, and I began understanding FF7 for the first time 😂. The ending scene was shocking, and seeing it in this video makes me wonder if it was really part of the version I watched, not sure but maybe
I remember my mom surprising me with this on dvd back in 2006 i think it was right after easter. We were struggling hard but she knew how badly i wanted this movie. I watched it non stop for a year straight
I watch this in 2005 in japanese dub. I remember buying the pirate version because i live in third world country. There's differences such as cloud is glowing in yellow while doing omnislash and he got stabbed while he sitting down and leans against building wall
Been waiting on this one forever. Surprised you didn’t see it sooner. As a fan, it’s pretty much the sequel to the original and answers all the lingering questions we had after the ending.
A lot of Easter eggs in the movie. Especially the Limit Breaks (Cloud used several including [Cross Slash] and of course his Ultimate: [Omnislash] to defeat Sephiroth). Hardcore fans will also recognise Aerith’s Ultimate Limit Break [Great Gospel] which is represented through healing rain that comes down on the party.
The gravity-defying, physics-rulebreaking moves you're questioning are limit breaks, just like the game, there are quite a few from Cloud, like Braver, Cross-Slash or Blade Beam, with an ultimate version of Omnislash to end the Sephiroth-reminiscent mirage Kadaj had turned into. It's a pretty cool movie, to be honest, and I'm pretty sure it got remaked 'cause some scenes I just don't remember. Great reaction, I laughed a lot at the awesome silliness like you!
The blue glow is Cloud's Limit Break, he tried to use it the first time but either wasn't strong enough or at the right point, or Sephiroth interrupted him. Second time he was successful.
The head bobbing when one winged angel started playing and for the rest of the fight was the highlight for me haha. It was fun watching you react to this!
Great video and reaction! I love this movie (FF7 Original is my favorite game of all time) and I watched it for the first time in like 10 years last week. It was the first time I watched the Complete version and it's was really quite much better than the normal version! ❤️ Keep doing FF7 content!
Such a great reaction vid. The enthusiasm of (pardon my description) barely restrained fangirling makes your enjoyment of the movie all the more delightful.
5:00 now you know why people were screaming at Remake when the whispers started showing Cloud these visions/memories. Dddddddddddon't, square! Just don't!
No, absolutely do, Square. DO. (But do it right, like how they have brought in the criminally-underrated Dorge of Cerberus, while keeping true to the overall “Remake” status of ReMake.
@@masamune2984 Dirge is not "criminally underrated" in any way. Good story, but the gameplay is just plain bad any way it's cut. It's a 10 hour game, and half of those hours are cutscenes between chapters. The only thing criminal about dirge was if it was a $59.99 game new. Again though, the story was good and I am happy it's being included in Remake. I just wish Dirge itself would get one.
This movie is beautiful and shows us how Cloud is dealing with his grief, he moved back to her church for such a long time because he was dying and wanted to feel close to her again before he died. It also shows again just how intrinsically linked sepiroth and aerith are also how important aerith and zack are to cloud. Evens 2 yrs after her death she was the 1st thing he thought about when sepiroth asked him what he cherished most. And the ending is the most beautiful thing Cloud smiling and now able to live a life free of guilt knowing that his not alone and his family/friends will always be with him and Aerith engraved in his heart for the rest of his life.
I also think that they ended it so, so you could interpret what happens with Cloud next if you think he gets with Tifa I think they intentionally left it open ended for people to decide. Although in dirge he is still single and that's 1 year after AC. I personally believe he stayed single and reunited with aerith in their promised land, and the end credits with him riding in the field and aerith watching over him and waiting for him, also hollow reaffirms my belief that aerith was a hole in his heart that could never be filled.
He didn't move to the church for a long time, he was there for a few weeks max based on official timeline. He lived with Tifa and family for 2 years before that and then moved back home again at the end and lived the rest of his life there. He was living at church and spending days at Zack's grave cause he was feeling guilty and and geostigma. Devs said he felt unworthy of the happiness he experienced with Tifa and his family, which they described as his Promised Land, that he felt scared of losing it the happier he got, couldn't find the cure and that's why he left. DoC doesn't touch upon his personal life or relationships, the guide made by outsiders simply copies most character descriptions from original games and is not any indicator of personal life of cameo characters. The final entry of the Compilation is the video extra, FF7 Reminiscence which has Cloud asking Tifa to close the bar so they can spend a day out together. He is 22 years old and has been in love with Tifa since he was a child, is now living with her, running a business with her, driving a bike she bought him and will be paying for her whole life, has a kid adopted with her, has let the ghosts of Aerith and Zack - that were weighing him down according to his own words - go, he is 100% not living the rest of his life single, even if one suspends the belief so much to believe he's even single now.
Thats just a motivational scene for cloud its not zacks power 😂Its Cloud final limit break an Improved version of Omnislash. Cloud defeating sephiroth when he was 16 is the reason hojo tries to turn him into a new version of sephiroth. He's the only one who can.
The fight in the church and her hand shaking off of the electricity are burned into my brain. Every time my hand is a little stiff I shake it off that way.
At 25:11 the guy in black leather asking for "mother" has nothing in the holster on his left leg, and when he fight Tifa a minute later a gun appear in that holster...
I watched this movie aired on one of my country's tv channels when i was a kid. The way my kid self thought Cloud was so handsome. Safe to say, when i read a wattpad fanfic that has his AC pic, followed with watching FF7Remake Playthrough years later that forgotten memory is unlocked after looking at Cloud, thinking he looked familiar.
I’m sure someone has already explained, but the blue glow that surrounds Cloud when he does a major attack is representing him using a limit break from the OG game. Right before Sephiroth messes him up in the climax, he tries using Omnislash on him but Sephiroth was ready for it. Then after the pep talk from Zach he uses a new one called Omnislash Version 5, named because it was the 5th version of a new attack that the film makers went with and just dubbed it as such.
38:36 - Vincent has always been cool. I'll admit seeing this the first time I freaked out since Vincent was my favourite party member since I started playing FF7.
So much so that a spin-off game was made with him as the character called _Dirge of Cerberus_ which takes place after this movie, with flashbacks of the events prior to Sephiroth's birth.
9:20 he left it where Zack died. Cloud left it as a monument to the friend who gave it to him, and as a symbol that the fighting was over and he could finally be at peace. Angeal gave the Buster Sword to Zack, Zack left it to Cloud, and Cloud followed through on his promise to take over the fight on his behalf.
FF7 Advent Children is a fantastic movie period. Everything from the story, to the music to the action scenes - especially the Tifa action scene man she was badass!!...only went that way so that the story could continue, a bit sad.. poor Tifa =(
As the one true Sephiroth I approve of this reaction. May I also inform you that Advent Children will be re-releasing in movie theaters next month for one weekend? It will be a glorious weekend. And I should know, for I am Sephiroth 😎
Mandy thank you so much for watching this movie, I remember watching this my junior year and it being the first part of ff7 that I experienced. Much love can't wait for the rebirth playthrough.
So I will try to explain some things you had questions about. Cloud and Tifa are/were living together and were looking after the kids. But Cloud needed some space to deal with his unresolved grief of Aerith dying right in front of him and other traums he has. So he left for awhile, staying in the church and other places. The 3 brothers are just left over cloaked figures (Sephiroth clones) from the Jenova reunion. They call Cloud brother cause all of them have been injected with Jenova cells, and while Hojo assumed Cloud was a failed Sephiroth clone, he wasn't. Cloud isn't actually a clone but these 3 idiots still call him brother regardless.
No, they are not. They are remnants Sephiroth created on the basis of 3 dead people in the Lifestream. It is all explained in On the Way to a Smile. Sephiroth makes use of people who are not ready to pass on while Aerith trues to help the souls of the dead in the Lifestream. She even tries to do that with Sephiroth but get "scared away". Aerith is basically in the book what Yuna is in FFX but Sephiroth wants to corrupt the Lifestream to create the Black Lifestream of which we can see a part in AC. That is why Kadaj and the others seem so weird. Because they were originally other people but Sephiroth infused them with a part of himself so he could use them to come back once he got enough memories restored and the cells.
I'm still halfway, and I must say, it's delightful watching this movie with you! But also, I'm cracking up every time someone says Cloud's name, because the captions call him Clown instead and that's great XD
Blue Glow = Limit Break Each time he'll use an attack from the original 7, in this we see Blade Beam, Climhazard, Finishing Touch and Omnislash....then his new Omnislash Version 5
To those who don't understand somethings in the movie: Cloud is extremely depressed over Aerith's death. Which he feels responsible for, this leads him to live alone in her church. The three antagonists are remnants (remember the cloaked guys in ff7 & remake). Sephiroth uses the remnants throughout OG FF7 & remake to return. Infact Sephiroth is dead throughout OG FF7 & Remake, he just infected the lifestream and is possessing the former SOLDIERS (remnants). Kadaj & gang are Sephiroths last ditch effort of resurrecting, by using the last Jenova cells (Box Rufus has). The geostigma (the sickness) is the result of Sephiroth corrupting the lifestream, killing the planet a different way. Aerith's church has the cure for geostigma (by her magic). Cloud is also infected & almost possessed, because of SOLDIER enhancement (Jenova cells & mako). He in the end finds forgiveness & purpose, kills Sephiroth for the 3rd time (Omnislash limit).
People always said this movie was confusing, but then when I watched for myself I had no idea why anyone would've thought it was confusing. Your comment is a perfect example of having basic media literacy and actually paying attention to the movie's explanations😆👍🏽
You explained the synopsis perfectly. I just wish there were more character interactions especially with Cloud and Tifa, they needed to talk about their problems more.
@@ulysh yea…I don’t see that happening anytime soon, at least not til after rebirth and possibly another game that concludes the FFVII story. Did you hear that the complete version of this movie is being released in theaters next month tho?
Fun facts! Sephiroth saying that he'll "never be a memory" is actually a prelude to FF7 Remake. In Remake, we actually see two Sephiroths. One is the one created in the wandering Sephiroth Clones that carry JENOVA cells. The other, usually seen giving ominous advice to Cloud and generally trying to put things on a different path, is the Sephiroth from Advent Children who figured out how to send his consciousness back through the Lifestream. He wanted Cloud and co. to sever fate for reasons unclear. Also, the three Whisper creations you fight in Remake are meant to be emblematic of Kadaj, Yazoo, and Loz as they fight with a sword, gun, and fists respectively, and even summon a version of Bahamut.
That is not a fun fact, that is just a theory people reh6rhitate for 4 years ignoring original lore that does not work with it. We do not know yet how AC and the Remake are connected. It would make way more sense if it actually has nothing to do with time in a literal, physical sense.
Things I want to see in part 3 Reunion/Revelation/Return 1: Cloud Dual Wielding Swords 2: Return to the hypnotic loop music 3: Aerith staying true to her role as a mostly unplayable but over-arching protector 4: an Advent children game as a bonus 4th part tba after the game releases
Either I have forgotten a whole lot of this movie or this is some kind of extended edition that adds a lot because even cut down there's like 60% of this I don't remember seeing before.
I think they added 20 minutes or something crazy like that, and also changed up lines and some of the music. The pacing is worse but I think it does make it a more 'complete' movie since characters like Denzel feel less superfluous.
Advent Children still looks as incredible as it did all those years ago...I remember begging my mum to buy me a copy from Woolworths at the time of its release and also being so hyped to see the back of the DVD pamphlet advertising KH2 coming soon...Those were the days!
No, Cloud and Tifa are not married but they do have a small adoptive family with Marlene and Denzel. Denzel`s the orphaned son of two mid-tier Shin-Ra employees who died when the Sector 7 plates fell and was exposed to Geostigma from an old lady he used to live with after Sephiroth and Cloud`s first battle and looked up to Cloud, Tifa and Aerith like Cloud once looked up to Zack, Angeal, Genesis and Sephiroth.
They'll retcon this if they add it in the 3rd part of the remake. If Aerith dies, she might be Clouds wife than just whatever she was in AC. Recently, Square has made more effort in the ships, ESPECIALLY Tifa and Cloud. They changed it to where they kiss now and almost kissed in Gongaga. Overall, it is depending on SE if they do anything with them or not. I personally do not care, I am in it for the story and action.
I've been thinking about rewathing this for a while. Got to admit, I spent the first 2/3 of your video waiting for your reaction to 'the gang's all here'... Great reaction, and thank you for sharing.
The last move Cloud used on Sephiroth was Omni Slash. Normally Cloud uses one sword to do Omni Slash but since he's using multiple swords its a bit different from the original
I don't see anyone telling you this but there's a novel 'On The Way To A Smile' that precedes this movie and explains A LOT about it and what characters are going through. The movie and Cloud are often misunderstood and there are many inaccuracies spread around, even in these comments. Do not listen to most of them, especially Clerith fans lol, they're the biggest offenders in mischaracterizing Cloud. Read the book, see the relationship between Cloud and Tifa yourself, they have many cute moments, they're just traumatized after everything and going through a rough patch now because of Cloud's geostigma and survival's guilt over Zack and Aerith and ptsd, but he gets through that and they have a happy ending lol. There is zero, romantic feelings from Cloud towards Aerith in this film, it's only the wish for forgiveness. Also, just look at the looks exchanged between Cloud and Tifa in the end 😎 That is absolutely a THING.
I'm skeptical of him having romantic feelings for anyone in the movie. But as far as Tifa, I think people just really really want those two to happen and they will look for anything to convince themselves that that's the case. It's obvious she has feelings for him, but as far as his feelings there's really not much there in any games or movies that seem to give off that impression. He did lots of things to show he cares about her. He fought Sephiroth for her, he did everything he could to protect her. But Cloud is just broken. Even after he's fixed in mideel, he's still traumatized in god knows how many ways. His mom is still gone, his dad is gone, his hometown was burned, aerith is gone, he's fighting weapons, shinra, and sephiroth not knowing is hes gonna live or die. Even if Cloud did have feelings for someone he'd probably be scared to even trust them until he finished his business with the north crater. In the movie he just broods about everything. The only time I've seen cloud give some true affection is in Crisis Core when he finds her in the reactor stabbed. he holds her and caresses her cheek while shes unconscious. If I'm missing something factual or the book clears that up, I'd love the clarification on that. This was just analysis of the love triangle.
@@Footsoldier1234well cloud has said that he can achieve a new life with tifa by his side. They both live with each other and in case of Barrett(which is a canon audiobook) he refer to tifa and cloud as being in a relationship. This is dialogue from the end of ff7. As Tifa looked away from the sky towards the ground, she was fearful of the future. However, Cloud beside her chose to smile gently. It was a smile that she hadn’t seen before during their journey. Cloud noticed her gaze and asked, “What’s wrong?” “Cloud, you’re smiling.” “I am?” “Yeah.” “It all starts now. A new…” Cloud looked for the right words. “A new life.” “I’m going to live. I think that’s the only way I can be forgiven. All sorts of things… happened.” “That’s right…” “But when I think about how many times I’ve thought about how I was going to start a new life, it’s funny.” “Why?” “Because I’ve always failed everything.” “That’s not funny.” “After this … I think I’ll be okay.” Cloud was silent for a long time before he spoke again. “Because I have you this time.” “You’ve always had me.” “What I mean is kind of different,” Cloud answered with another smile. This is from a case of Barrett, Good for you. Whole world’s clappin’ you on the back. So Cloud’s with Tifa?” “Yeah. Tifa opened a bar, just like the old days. Cloud was helpin’ out, but it sounds like he’s got his own business keepin’ him tied up now. A delivery service.” “Cloud? Run a business?” “You can bet it’s Tifa kickin’ his ass into shape.” ”I see. In the end, it’s the women who wear the pants.” -Case of Barret Also nomura has described tifa’s as being in a romantic relationship. There are many dimensions to Tifa’s character. She’s like a mother, a sweetheart [koibito], and a close ally in battle“: Advent Children Reunion Files book (pg. 19)~ Nomura Koibito means romantic sweetheart/lover or boyfriend/girlfriend. They’re many more moments in the novels and ultimania that dives into their relationship but I just gave you a few. It’s never been directly stated that they are together but that’s one of the reasons why nojima and nomura wanted to be more direct with characters in regarding their feelings in the remake.
Not sure if you've seen it. The opening scene with Nanaki and his cubs is reminiscent of the post credit scene in the OG FF7. It was 500 years after the end of the game. That said 498 years earlier cause the movie is set two years after the game. Also, Cloud put the Buster Sword there as a monument to Zack.
Blue glow was limit break and the attack was omnislash that cloud used to kill sephiroph at the climax of ff7. However sephiroph countered the attack. He's seen it before. He died to it. They use the same reference and trick at the end of remake. It's a big hint that the sephiroph in remake is not the same sephiroph we fought in ff7. Nerd lore.
Yeah, the original Final Fantasy XIII tech demo was all about Advent Children combat, and then the actual game came out and it was Corridor Fighter the Tutorial edition. The player base was less than enthused.

The only 2 things I wanna comment about this movie which is SUPER DUPER VERY IMPORTANT!! SEPHIROTH and CLOUD are SOOOOOO HOT in the movie, I love the designs of them in this movie way more than REMAKE. Little known feature, the beginning with Red is 500 years in the future, where he's going to meet Vincent who together agreed to an annual meeting back at Midgar as Red has long life and Vincent is effectively immortal, they continue to meet with eachother as the last remaining party members. So the opening isn't random or arbitrary, its their annual meeting and Red's taking his family to see Vincent. Its a sad, but sweet little detail.
@@colinnixon7739 And? Does that change the information? That's the context of the scene. Literally just explaining what's going because a lot of people don't know it, for them it's just Red running up to a cliff and roaring...which can seem random to people whether "it's from the game" or not.

1:07:10 Some say it's Omnislash and could be right since Cloud seems to have not used materia. I think that's the Advent Children's version of the Materia Attack Knights of The Round. A multi-hitt attack done by several summoned knights in the game, while the target is there taking each hit almost happening instantaneously. Here Cloud makes the multi attack using His many swords he can combine into his buster sword...Awesomeness, whichever attack it is.
Thanks for all the clarifications about Bahamut and blue glow = limit break! For some reason I just did not make the connection in the moment that it was Bahamut, and I must have missed the blue glow in OG7. It's all cleared up now though. :)
the way remake played out, it seems to be on a new timeline so who knows even if thats going to happen at this point.
The blue glow never happened in og, it was just BIG BRIGHT LIGHT, that woulda looked odd in the movie so blue glow instead

Barret said "I'll give him ten minutes" when he was inside Cid's ship, which doesn't seem to be taken seriously at all and shouldn't be. it's not made SUPER clear, but here are the pieces, as I see them:
basically after the events of FF7 proper, it's implied that Cloud and Tifa are settled into a kinda-sorta shared living arrangement.

The movie might not be that good tbh but the whole theme of moving on doesn’t mean forgetting the people you loved is nice.
The complete version of the movie is a whole lot better than the original release. Still not what I'd call great but acceptable at least. I flat out disliked the original version of it.

@@marielverano2193 I mean you’re just right though honestly 😂

Like the last two limit breaks he used against Sephiroth were Omnislash (which Sephiroth evaded easily because he already encountered it before when Cloud defeated him with the move in the Lifestream), and then the new version of Onnislash, which was enough to finally defeat Sephiroth in the movie...
it looks like they combined omnislash and KOTR in a way.

•The location when the Buster Sword Impaled is where Zack Died
•Cloud Special moves he used on Sephiroth is Omnislash using his Fusion Sword
Omnislash Version 5, to be precise.
I loved Dirge of Cerberus seeing how powerful Vincent is and learning more about his past and the Midgar assault cgi scene was awesome!
And the materia that Kadaj used was the Haste Materia, hence why he moved so fast.
And Ribbon was the best accessory in the OG game.
When i saw the dvd version i was like "oh cool, ff7" but watching THIS version i had the same reaction as you, just tears and shock and awe
Great video, i loved seeing your genuine reactions
I don't know about perfect but a hell of a lot better than the original version for sure. I was not a fan of the original one.
And his family in tifa Denzel, Marlene and their rest of their friends helping him through
We know from the start cloud was never a strong person which is why he clung so hard to Zack. But with people he cares about and depend on him, he becomes strong. It's cliche but very powerful
was it cliche when it was made.... or is it just cliche now. like all FF main character having blue eyes....
Love this movie, the small detail that they all are rocking Ribbon is such a good nod.
I just saw this in the theater tonight and I must say back in 2005 when this movie 1st came out it still holds up today. Way ahead of it's time. It's nice to see a fellow admirer of this film and the only reason why it's underrated is because it's misunderstood.
Ah the death of Aerith, the one event that can reduce a grown man to tears, brings back memories. Also One Wings Angel is a killer track.
😂 It was so much fun to see the nonsense of this movie in your face! 😂 Thank you so much for sharing! 💛
It's Nomura's fan fiction made reality by man himself.
Cloud never made soldier, despite that fact he still defeated Sephiroth and developed his own combat style and moves, such as omni slash. That’s pretty impressive considering he had no mentor like Zack did.
It's important to remember that the reason he didn't make it was mental, he had all the right physical tools and then the mako enhancements.
because it was hojo's best experiment, is more perfct than sephiroth
DX
I'm also curious to see how much they tie in the Remake trilogy into Advent Children.

When I first saw this I remembered entertaining the thought "To Think if we ever had games that looked this good". And now we've surpassed it. Crazy!
what i really like about sephiroth, he doesn't give cloud a chance to rest, that offensive tactic is genius.
Thanks for almost the entire movie in English , could not find it anywhere.
This is the COMPLETE version of the movie. It contained some deleted and extended scene that was cut was the original release.
The blue glow is Cloud's Limit Break, he tried to use it the first time but either wasn't strong enough or at the right point, or Sephiroth interrupted him. Second time he was successful.
The fact that the whole team use a red ribbon for Aerith 😢
The head bobbing when one winged angel started playing and for the rest of the fight was the highlight for me haha. It was fun watching you react to this!
Well remember that Tifa was already 20 years old as of the events in the Game, so she would indeed look "so grown up."
The title of the song playing at the ending where Cloud saw Aerith and Zack is "Cloud Smiles". Cloud already moved on.
Cloud's blue glow is essentially the Limit Breaks from the game.

When cloud saves Barrett, for a split second you can see he used his swords like helicopter to get there

So much so that a spin-off game was made with him as the character called _Dirge of Cerberus_ which takes place after this movie, with flashbacks of the events prior to Sephiroth's birth.
I love the giddy energy around "None of this makes any sense" 😂 All that fighting was complete nonsense but then again, 13yo me loved every second😂
That's not Zac's power, that's Cloud's Limit break OMNISLASH.
I think you forgot that each of them have limit breaks🎉, that's the blue energy 👍
Seeing Aerith and Zack walk into the light always gets me in the feels 🥲
FF7 Advent Children is a fantastic movie period. Everything from the story, to the music to the action scenes - especially the Tifa action scene man she was badass!!...only went that way so that the story could continue, a bit sad.. poor Tifa =(
agree 100%
Was this a horribly bad attempt to be funny? or......
God, the final goodbye from Aerith and Zack at the end always kill me. The damn music..
As the one true Sephiroth I approve of this reaction.
May I also inform you that Advent Children will be re-releasing in movie theaters next month for one weekend?
It will be a glorious weekend. And I should know, for I am Sephiroth 😎
Really? They're going hard on Rebirth and they don't even have to.
I think it's in the middle of the week wensday and Thurs. Not the weekend. Just clearing that up.
@@callmeshaggy5166 i mean it allows people to understand the story since remake takes place after advent children
If you are truly seph can you answer a couple questions? First where is mother? Second there are rumors you have a crush on cloud? Is that true. 😂
Blue Glow = Limit Break
Each time he'll use an attack from the original 7, in this we see Blade Beam, Climhazard, Finishing Touch and Omnislash....then his new Omnislash Version 5
Don't forget Braver vs Bahamut Sin
@@lienstone8019
I knew I'd missed one, thanks
51:13 this is my favorite scene in the movie. That teamwork they had!
To those who don't understand somethings in the movie:
Cloud is extremely depressed over Aerith's death.
@@shanajeangedeon9060 Thank you, I appreciate your comment. ❤❤
You explained the synopsis perfectly. I just wish there were more character interactions especially with Cloud and Tifa, they needed to talk about their problems more.
@@angel_in-black True, I heard rumors suggesting a remake of the movie. I'd like that, but I'll take those rumors with a grain of salt.
@@ulysh yea…I don’t see that happening anytime soon, at least not til after rebirth and possibly another game that concludes the FFVII story. Did you hear that the complete version of this movie is being released in theaters next month tho?
That last song, "Cloud Smiles" gives me goosebumps every time I hear it!!!
@@Cetra29 Yup and this is why I hate fan theory culture as people tend toi treat they theories as facts.
As far as i know AC is story after origin FF7.. this was sephiroth second coming
this is the best example of what an omnislash is at the last fight
Things I want to see in part 3 Reunion/Revelation/Return
1: Cloud Dual Wielding Swords
2: Return to the hypnotic loop music
3: Aerith staying true to her role as a mostly unplayable but over-arching protector
4: an Advent children game as a bonus 4th part tba after the game releases
DLC maybe?
Cloud, completely lucid, free of Sephiroth's influence, mind made whole, consciously accepting being Zack's living legacy makes me want to cry.
Either I have forgotten a whole lot of this movie or this is some kind of extended edition that adds a lot because even cut down there's like 60% of this I don't remember seeing before.
Advent Children just has that effect lol
it got a complete edition awhile ago that added alot
@@mikec5400 this was the complete edition; it said FF7 AC: Complete at the beginning title screen.
It doesn't seem like they are married, but she is wearing a Fenrir ring.
That thing was a summon made exclusively for the movie, Bahamut Sin.
To burst the bubble or not, that is the question.
Cloud noticed her gaze and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Cloud, you’re smiling.”
“I am?”
“Yeah.”
“It all starts now. A new…”
Cloud looked for the right words.
“A new life.”
“I’m going to live. I think that’s the only way I can be forgiven. All sorts of things… happened.”
“That’s right…”
“But when I think about how many times I’ve thought about how I was going to start a new life, it’s funny.”
“Why?”
“Because I’ve always failed everything.”
“That’s not funny.”
“After this … I think I’ll be okay.”
Cloud was silent for a long time before he spoke again.
“Because I have you this time.”
“You’ve always had me.”
“What I mean is kind of different,” Cloud answered with another smile.
This is from a case of Barrett,
Good for you. Whole world’s clappin’ you on the back. So Cloud’s with Tifa?”
“Yeah. Tifa opened a bar, just like the old days. Cloud was helpin’ out, but it sounds like he’s got his own business keepin’ him tied up now. A delivery service.”
“Cloud? Run a business?”
“You can bet it’s Tifa kickin’ his ass into shape.”
”I see. In the end, it’s the women who wear the pants.” -Case of Barret
Also nomura has described tifa’s as being in a romantic relationship.
There are many dimensions to Tifa’s character. She’s like a mother, a sweetheart [koibito], and a close ally in battle“:
Advent Children Reunion Files book (pg. 19)~ Nomura
Koibito means romantic sweetheart/lover or boyfriend/girlfriend.
Also, Cloud put the Buster Sword there as a monument to Zack.
lmaoooo the Wizard of Oz reference!! Yessssss xD
Nerd lore.
Ever since this movie came out square's been trying to model combat in final fantasy to match the feel of the combat in this movie
Yeah, the original Final Fantasy XIII tech demo was all about Advent Children combat, and then the actual game came out and it was Corridor Fighter the Tutorial edition. The player base was less than enthused.
@@darksaint0124 music? was damn good tho...
combat hinging on the player character not dying? yeeeesh....
also we got lightning, and i adore her 13 and 13-2 looks, also her gun/sword
There is no way combat in any FF game could have same feel as combat in this movie because of totally different mediums.

The only 2 things I wanna comment about this movie which is SUPER DUPER VERY IMPORTANT!! SEPHIROTH and CLOUD are SOOOOOO HOT in the movie, I love the designs of them in this movie way more than REMAKE. I understand it is less realistic compared to remake, but I am not looking for realism but anything that intrigues my eyes
Oh my god. I am also getting SO excited for Rebirth, demo blew my mind. I am so hyped and Advent Children is one of my favorite cgi movies. Only 17 more days left... 2 weeks and 2 days
Are you trolling? It's literally the same scene at the end of the game.
@@colinnixon7739 And? Does that change the information? That's the context of the scene. Literally just explaining what's going because a lot of people don't know it, for them it's just Red running up to a cliff and roaring...which can seem random to people whether "it's from the game" or not.
@@colinnixon7739 And? Does that change the information? That's the context of the scene. I'm just explaining it's meaning as it can seem random to people who don't know it, whether it's "the same scene" from the game or not.
The talk with Rufus felt like the moment you realized that remake was truly a sequel and not a remake lol
