No joke. The moment it was announced that the game would end here, I promised myself that I would title the Aerith death scene video "Aerith dead or alive?" as to not spoil anyone on the big thing. But, no joke. I'm actually asking this now. I genuinely have no clue if she's dead or alive lmao. Like, we did see her get killed, but the initial scene started with Cloud succeeding in stopping Sephiroth. Or was that the second timeline? Or was that a third timeline? It's starting to get a bit confusing and I'm not sure what to think.
That's Nomura. You can never stop him. But at least, one reasonable theory is that Aerith should be dead, but Cloud is getting attuned to the Lifestream and can sense Aerith's spirit supporting him for that fight and her ready to stop Meteor while leaving the physical things in Cloud's hands
My theory is that Cloud is in some SERIOUS denial, given that static usually accompanies one of his freakouts. He's censored it from his mind. Don't have a clue about the rest of it though.
I don’t have the game and am just getting context from clips but all this timeline stuff is really making this story even more convoluted. I’m coping to say that she’s not dead but it really seems like Aerith is dead and is just a ghost that Cloud is talking to.
Cloud actually managed to save Aerith in forgotten capital. When Cloud blocked Sephiroth's sword a bright rainbow colored light appeared out of nowhere and then Sephiroth's sword flies into the ground. Then the scene switches into main timeline where he kills Aerith. We see Aerith being covered in blood when Barret and the others arrive to the scene. When we see them crying around her body there is no rainbow light anywhere to be seen. Then after the final fight is over Cloud walks to check on Aerith, the scene changes and Barret and the others mysteriously disappear and Cloud is suddenly alone with Aerith and this bright rainbow colored light is surrounding the altar. We learned from Zack's actions that this light symbolizes the creation of parallel worlds. Also Sephiroth said that everytime the fate gets breached it leads into the creation of another parallel world. This is what we see when Cloud blocks Sephiroth's attack in forgotten capital. The scene goes back and forth implying that there are two parallel realities where Aerith died and survived. Main timeline Aerith is dead but Aerith from that timeline Cloud's actions created is alive and well. When this light is surrounding the altar we see that Aerith is uninjured. There is no blood to be seen around her body. Cloud asks Aerith to wake up and she opens her eyes and smiles at Cloud. Main world Aerith's spirit also thanked Cloud for saving her during the last fight "I saw what you did back there Cloud, thank you." and Cait Sith's first fortune reading heavily foreshadows this moment: "Things are looking up so throw your caution to the wind. Place your trust in others and the last minute twist may pleasantly surprise you." I love this ending. Cloud finally saved her. This is the ending i wanted to see. Even if it happens in parallel timeline i'll gladly take it.
You are correct, it’s heavily suggested that she is now alive in a branching timeline via the rainbow light. Another small detail to notice is that when the somber theme starts playing during the Jenova fight, if you notice it actually is a little more “upbeat” this time, as if to suggest something positive is happening. I’m absolutely stunned how many ppl aren’t seeing this lol, I think it’s just them coping for the original story to be unchanged or something. I’m happy with it too, but we also need to wait and see what the payoff will be in part 3.
A lot of people can't seem to grasp this line of theory. The fact Cloud is talking with her in the fields later on would be too much of a "hur dur! It was Jenova masquerading as Aerith all along and feeding him bum information!" That was definitely Aerith or in the slim chance, a very cruel swerve by the writers to do all this convoluted crap and then Episode 3 ends in the exact same fashion as 1997 because they are trying to "subvert expectations"
@@NordicWiseguy A lot of people must've konked out during Sephiroths multiverse explanation to Cloud because they either think Cloud is completely broken and crazy at this point, or Jenova is walking around with an Aerith suit and confusing Cloud. I know the plot is hard to follow, but these people with the goldfish attention span are impossible!
He loves her so much he can see her in the world he saved her in 😢 I mean it's implied in the ending that Cloud isn't insane cause even Red felt her existence he just can't see her the way Cloud can
Cloud created a different world, one which Aerith lives. This is represented by the rainbow effect, which you get hinted at when Zack is stuck at a crossroads (one where he chose to get Hojo to cure Cloud, one where he went after Biggs, and the last one where he's at the church mulling over his indecision). Cloud's currently able to perceive this other world he created, the world in which Aerith lives. Hence why he can see what the others cannot. Some think he's hallucinating, but if you notice, Nanaki felt Aerith's presence, hence why he muttered her name at the end.
Considering alternate timeline Aerith gave Cloud her materia before perishing, could that mean she condemned one of the timelines to lose against meteor in order for another timeline to prevail without her having to die and drop the materia? Everyone thinks the ending is clouds insanity and that he's seeing either the spirit or a mirage of Aerith. I think he's in limbo between two timelines and she's both alive and dead to him at the same time. Meaning that in at least one timeline, Aerith is still living and he DID save her.
That world was already in last fumes. The end of the world, that line was repated like 10 times during that sequence. The sky thing is pretty telling, he didnt even know it was there until she pointed it out. Also, there were two white materias. The one that fell into the lake and the colourless one cloud is holding. That alone proves the multi-timeline thing going on.
I have a theory what if from the original FF 7 sephiroth somehow created the mutiple timelines since sephiroth did exploded but we wouldnt know if the jenova could go this far to breaking the physics of time and space. I wouldnt be surprise if he somehow done it and if the the directors of the game and yet the remake is somehow the first start of the timeline started to altered and since we now have 3 different timelines who wouldnt say their could be more since in part 3 since we dont know when it will be coming out but I know for sure their might be more timelines like we dont know how far this goes yet and maybe it could be something far big for a plot twist to become in video game history
Seeing everyone sad about Aerith's death and then there's Cloud creepy smiling and hallucinating i feel so bad for him when he finally brakes it's gonna be awful
It's not like that, he said it himself, it's a Homecoming, Aeris says it too. Cloud can realize the illusion, he understands the Reunion and puts on the black materia to locate Sephiroth, and of course he had to place Aerith's body in the water as happens in the original game. Many say that she is JENOVA and the same song at the end says that Cloud will not keep his promise. If Cloud understands that Aerith is in the lifestream, then his grief for her will not continue. In the original game Sephiroth tells him that the reunion will take place in the north and that she will be there and Cloud says that she won't be able to laugh or cry, then Sephiroth is amazed because Cloud thinks he can really feel and hints that he is just a clone. In rebirth Sephiroth clearly says from the beginning that Cloud is just another puppet, because Cloud still does not know that he is a clone without memories, but instead extracts information from those around him. In the end Cloud will give Sephiroth the black materia anyway, that's why he has it, because throughout the entire game we never really see Sephiroth.
I dont think he's hallucinating or acting crazy I think Aerith touches his face to make him see the alternate timeline where she lives, similar to how she shows Marlene and Red XIII visions to calm them down by touching them. That's why to him she is still alive and he can interact with her but the rest of the gang can't
I also do not think he's hallucinating. He seems that way to the others but personally I believe Aerith is at this point using the same method Sephiroth uses to throw Cloud off his game. The others could not see or hear Sephiroth either when Cloud saw him. What I think is that this Aerith somehow managed to enter the Lifestream in a similiar fashion to Sephiroth, causing her to gain similiar abilities. Her "portal to another timeline"-ability seems to be even superiour to Sephiroths because she seemingly can open them with no efford at all. But I really do not think Cloud is crazy. He now just has two dead people talking to him. Aerith might just do the same thing Sephiroth did since Remake as well. She is also using white whispers, which are the guardians of fate if I remember correctly. She might be the planets counter to Sephiroth at this point. It could also be that it's Jenova though. What was Jenovas main trait that the ancients disgussed in their temple after all? The part that Jenova can take the face of anyone, those you hate, those you love.. so maybe our timelines Aerith is dead after all and not talking to Cloud. In that case Cloud might have a little Jenova issue on his hand. But I doubt that's the case because Sephiroth already took that role.
@@nyx2903lol No cloud is crazy he’s literally surpressing memories of aeriths actual death seen two times at the end and that’s when she shows up she’s prob helping him cope by existing but he’s gonna need to accept that she died and that will throw him over the edge l
@youngclueless7364 You are correct, it’s heavily suggested that she is now alive in a branching timeline via the rainbow light. @@mehlig_Cloud thinks he parried the Deathblow on Aerith "He didn't" and starts to talk to her still thinking he saved her , while everyone else saw Aerith dying in his arms.
@@Durahan82in my opinion, Cloud has saved Aerith because we can see it, but in another timeline, so clearly we will be seeing Aerith again in the last part.
Imagne there's more than 2 Aerith probably 3 communicating together to defeat Sephiroth, OG Aerith in the lifestream, Current Aerith sacrifices so the Materia can be given to OG Aerith, then other Aerith at Zacks timeline so she can wake up and reunite with everyone, Then together combined or whatsoever...all i know, AERITH IS FREAKING STRONG, life and death she is OP
I think ppl are missing the obvious cloud very clearly created another world where Aerith lives just like how they created a world where Zack lives, Cloud is experiencing both worlds at once hence why he sees Aerith and why when he looks up into the sky he sees the crack while the others don’t, it’s obvious that the writers are trying to make us think that cloud is just going crazy again with the way the end dialogue is written but so many clues are left for us to assume he created a new timeline hence why when he walks up to aeriths body the others surrounding her disappear and it’s just them two when she wakes up it also explains why during her death scene it constantly jumps around between her being alive and her dead another world ppl another world
I have a feeling that the white whispers are spirits of the Cetra from the past, and Aerith, through her prayers, urged them to rewrite reality when Cloud stopped Sephiroth's attack so she would make sure she died. I believe that Sephiroth wished to trick Cloud into saving Aerith so she couldn't become one with the Lifestream, and so he would win at the end. But Aerith knows her sacrifice is essential for the planet's survival, and so she corrected the flow of destiny by erasing Cloud's parry of Sephiroth's sword.
So then why did the white whispers/rainbow light appear when he successfully deflected Sephiroth? I think it's the reverse. Cloud's guilt and regret for not saving Aerith is a lot of what enabled Sephiroth to come back in AC, causing more problems. It's not a very good solution to just repeat history. Sephiroth currently stands to benefit the most from a classic ending... And now he has the knowledge of the spaces between worlds and that there is a bigger badder black materia within them. The classic ending just brings us back to the same problem we're dealing with in remake all over again.
@@hippiefarts in Advent Children Réunion Files the devs told clearly that the return of Sephiroth Is not his Will, but Jenova's Will,Because Is Jenova the dominant......The problem is not Sephiroth himself,Is to erase Jenova once and for all.Watch carefully some sequences (Such as the One when Cloud Is drowning under water while fighting the Midgardsorm,or the One when Tifa Is inside the Weapon surrounded by the White whispers..) and you'll see that there Is an OTHER Sephiroth, probably from a timeline beyond Advent Children....this One Is DIFFERENT,and us not a Jenova type and an enemy....Keep a keen Eye on him,he'll give us some surprises
Whoa, this theory is really good. I thought about that. Of all the things that could "change faith" her death is the most important one. Thanks for that. I was disappointed in the ending a bit, but a lot of other parts of the game are really well down and beautiful in retrospect. For example, I love the way they displayed Aerith's increasing concern with Cloud's growing instability (especially in the temple). You actually see it on her face when she gives Cloud the fake black Materia; it's a look of sadness and concern but also love. Like she knew what she had to do then and there.
Yes he says it all ( but along this lines "Aerith will no longer smile and talk" But he sees her her smile and talking and believes she is alive, so i guess thats why this words were blocked)
@@НикитаСимонян-ж5е Yeah I'm agreeing I think her was going to say those OG lines, but he's being forced to negate it. 99% sure we'll see the 'unedited' scene in a few years.
Probably Cloud having a deja vu ever saying the OG words while crying and angry. But in rebirth, sephiroth is laughing at the irony, while preventing cloud from crying (puppet), thus breaking his mind even more.
Basically, Aerith still dies in their current reality but I guess she will be alive in the alternate reality where Zack currently is. And perhaps at the end of all this, the 2 worlds would momentarily crossover and Aerith (and probably Zack) will reunite with Cloud and the others for the final battle... just my theory, though
@@iluvpets Director said it 'links up' to AC, they used very loaded terminology. And it already does. The ultimania says that the 3 main whispers are those guys from AC
I think it's that Sephiroth still killed her, her spirit just lives through the planet, much like in the OG. Only they showed it much earlier here. Probably would have been better to instead reveal that Cloud could see her in that end cutscene when he talks to her just before getting on the plane - make it less confusing, more like the OG, and make people feel less confused about the ending. Also, would keep the emotional impact of her death, while still adding a new spin to it.
I think it's because Aerith gave him the ability to see the alternate timeline where she lives when she touched him, similar to how she calmed Red and Marlene down in remake by showing them visions. That's why from that point on he stops crying and starts interacting with her like she is still alive, but for the rest of the gang she is dead
@@trainerflowey2729 It is not integral. And in fact, I would not think Sephiroth would make the same damn mistake 2x knowing if that materia hit the planet it would mean him losing again. Her prayer was the only important part in fact.
I think Aerith changed the time line and basically undid Cloud saving her. Even Seohiroth admits he underestimated her. And when "fate" changed and the blood appeared on the sword Sephiroth chuckled and had a face that said "well played". There's only 1 timeliness that truly matters now to both Cloud and Aerith personally and that's Zack's timeline while they're unconscious. If Cloud saves her, she lives. If he doesn't, she dies and that will be that. But he's got to, right? I mean he's been cockblocked by Sephiroth for what, 25 years now?
None of the multiverses matter. There all doomed, except the OG timeline. This new material is only to enhance the story, give it depth, mystery, keep the story interesting for old and new fans alike…..It’s not to change the story
@@andrecaldwell4891 The only way to save the multiverses is to kill Sephiroth that’s why Cloud promises Aerith that he will beat him as then only she would be free but as long as Seph lives world will be in danger since he wants to unite them all into one single timeline because main timeline can’t be changed.
11:25 and as Cloud walks up to Aeriths body…. You can clearly see he steps into another world, he is experiencing/existing in one world where she dies and another where she lives 🥹
2:00 Cloud’s sword gets a green aura like lifestream when he clashes with Sephiroph to defend Aerith too… don’t know what it means but it’s significant
@@elizadoolittle9657 It means he is altering another world. Same aura appears when you enter the Singularity in Remake and the world sort of dublicates as you see both this green aura and our world being destroyed by the Whisper tornado.
Sephiroth talks about worlds being born and dying. Reuniting and Growing apart? Aerith is both dead and alive. Something about things happening at those critical junctures changes things. I think Sephiroth is aiming for that and this time he succeeds in absorbing the life-stream but then is defeated at a critical moment again? Aerith can't die if she's already "dead"? Something weird along those lines.
Everyone is dead and alive as long as the Lifestream has its memories. Representative of people always making even their small mark on the world as long as the world continues.
@@SwobyJ Exactly. And That's the point....Jenova Is trying to choose Among all the possibile timelines and circumstances that can give her the right advantage, then She could allineate all them in Just ONE,the One which Will allow her to become the ruler over all them.....but on the other side, now Aerith Will do the same..The problem is that She can do It Just from Lifestream, once She loses her phisical form.Ence,She has to die...
So Aerith Was Murdered But She Became A Force Ghost(Star Wars)/Pulled Kamina(Gurren Laggen) To Help Cloud..But Only The Player, Cloud and Sepiroth can See Aerith.
I think this whole scene don't have the impactful momment of feeling bad for Aerith because the scene itself does not give any visual information of what happened.
Yeah man all the psychotic multi-dimensional stuff on top of clouds delusions are just too much. I'm guessing they wanted to take all the violence out of this though, where the original scene was meant to instill shock.
Unlike in the original, there is no guarantee of what really happened to her. No promises right now. Her true fate is..... a mystery. And mysteries have a way of driving people mad. Okay, in all seriousness I think Aerith's death is given much less fanfare and drama here because the writers plan to have her in the story more for the final part and she'll likely get a true send off in that part. After all, the scene with Zack in the church seems to tease that Aerith will come back to him there in that timeline.
By the way: Take a closer look at the reflections in that transparent materia at 18:45. Cloud is not crazy, he can see two timelines at the same time. In the materias reflection you see at first a blue sky with some clouds and some green hills in the back. Then he turns the materia. There the hills lost some color as if the grass dried out and the sky got a brownish colour with something that appears like a rift in the top left corner.. very similiar to the sky we've been shown on the "dying world". I think that was a little clue the devs left us.. :)
Nice catch! Didn't see that the hills and the sky inside the materia looks quite different as soon as Cloud turns it. Another hint that he's seeing two timelines at the same time
Just a theory, but I think Sephiroth didn't know what was going to happen here. If anything, he wanted Cloud to try (and possibly succeed) because it might remove Aerith from the lifestream and allow either meteor or geostigma to succeed. Either way, I'll certainly be curious to see where they go with this in FFVII:R3.
Sephiroth, with enough time and vision, can predict practically anything but what another Lifestream entity like Aerith can do. Jenova had to infiltrate the actual Cetra in order to accomplish anything, and Sephiroth has the world at his fingertips if it wasn't for this one Cetra descendent and her sudden assistances to her friends.
The line when they are about to part "It's like a second home" was "it's the Cetra's promised Land after all" in the Japanese. Whatever the "visible" Aerith is at the end, Cloud is fully aware that she is, well, decisively "dead" for all intensive purposes--that her home is now the Lifestream and she won't be eating, sleeping, or physically traveling with the rest of the party.
Do y'all not remember the scene at the end of Advent Children where it shows Zach waving goodbye to Cloud as Aerith waits for him? She was also sort of with them throughout the movie. . . and if I remember correctly, SE said they wanted the remake to be more aligned with that movie since it's canon.
Look how creepy and uncanny valley her face is after 12:30. She's dead, which makes Cloud even more messed up than OG FF7. edit: I'm thinking Jenova/Sephiroth is manipulating Cloud through seeing Aerith ("Those you hate, those you fear, those you love, Jenova could become anyone"). I'm also thinking that the third remake will show the original, actual death scene.
it can't be a Jenova disguise, there's white whispers around her which are symbolic of Aerith and Holy. Remember the black and white whispers are fighting each other.
@@elizadoolittle9657 Agreed. Cloud created a parallel world where he saved Aerith. The ending is as clear as it can be but some people try to make things convoluted.
Some understated beautiful details here....Cloud starts the battle with Seph in limit break due to his emotions being fully charged, his loss is unbearable and he will have his vengeance on that asshole. Also when Aerith joins him his HP qnd MP are fully restored. Nice shout out to Hollow "Heal every wound and make me whole" she gives him the strength and courage to fight well as well as healing his broken and fragile state. Also loveless "proof that true love conquers all" Also how when Cloud approaches Aerith, they all turn to look at him because they know he has lost his world. 😢 When he asks her to wake up its just so tragic and he gives her a smile "show me your smile" The music in this whole sequence is just beautiful. So sad that Uematsu wont ever complete another game score. Man is a pure genius.
5:10 Why is Tifa now seeing these two realities too??? Is it the effect that falling into Mako Lake caused him? now tifa can see the same thing as cloud???
I think so! It's just like what happened with Red XIII and Marlene! Aerith lent them her powers somehow! And Tifa must have gotten some too after the Weapon took her into the Lifestream!
i think aerith is dead like in OG but it's now more apparent she can help with the meteor. Like shes more interactive as a spirit now idk? Rather than just showing up at the end of OG to stop meteor. Kinda like in advent children where she will pop in and out at times when cloud really needed some help.
Two different worlds. One where she died one where she lived. There's nothing else going on here. And OG Aeriths was the one fighting with us at the Edge Of Creation. She sends her memories through the white materia to the Aerith's found on each world. Basically she sends her consciousness to the different worlds and the Whispers tried to take said consciousness and memories away to not have an altered world.
Tbh not the biggest fan of this version of her death I mean, I do like how the entire gang is angy at Sephiroth for committing daerith, really shows how it impacted them, even if this version isn’t as impactful as the og
ok so I do understand what is happening, but it is a bit confusing 1) there are three timelines: Remake, Alternate and Original to keep things simple. Remake is stable, Alternate Timeline is not. Original doesn't serve much of a purpose other then to give us Zach, another version of Cloud and another version of Aerith 2) The Whispers are not really explained but we can assume they are "us" in a way, changing things we didn't like about the original story now when Remake Crew beat "us" like Zach getting his brains blasted out the back of his skull by a rando soldier. The white ones that appear are Aerith's whispers we can presume 3) Alternate Timeline Cast consists of the following: - Cloud(Alive but never seen, mentioned he survived only during the prologue) -Tifa (super dead) -Barrett (hella dead) -Red XIII (survived whatever the hell happened but was killed trying to stop Shinra from taking Alternate Aerith's body, died in helicopter crash) - Aerith (omega dead, died in Zach's arms yet still has a major presence during the game) 4) Original we have Zach, Cloud and Aerith (I don't know if this is oringal but Alternate 2 didn't have a nice ring to it) but in a nutshell these versions exist as Paradox's in the Remake timeline as the timeline they came from don't exist anymore. This timeline only existed briefly to give us these 3 characters and then seems to be erased. - Zack (alive, somehow the whispers interfered with what should have been his death and he was yonked out of the fight and ended up falling between the Remake Timeline and Alternate Timeline. To put in comic fan terms Zack is basically the Reverse Flash now, his original timeline is no more and he just exists as a paradox and falls between the two universes at will. - Cloud (alive, I named him Coma Cloud, he is sleeping in Aerith's room with Coma Aerith in the Remake timeline after being yonked out by whatever brought Zack to the Remake Timeline. Probably will become a major part of the final game, I believe Remake Cloud will fully break and/or get killed but Remake/Alternate Aerith will lead Remake Cloud's soul to take over this body and make him whole finally) - Aerith (alive and the only living Aerith, I named her Coma Aerith since she is in a Coma, sleeping in her room with Coma Cloud, probably will be playable in part 3 in all honesty and taken over by Remake Aerith so we can have her playable in part 3) 5) Remake Timeline has all the characters we know but some small confusion - Tifa - She was never killed by Sephiroth despite his teasing to Cloud, this was to break Cloud. - Aerith - is HELLA DEAD, like straight up gutted levels of dead. Somehow has a connection to the all other versions of Aerith that isn't explained yet. Alternate and Remake Aerith appear to occupy the same astral spirit when Remake Aerith dies and become some kind of hybrid Aerith comes to help Cloud at the end to fight Sephiroth and will go onto guide him in part 3. Cloud is not tripping balls when he see's her, Aerith is only choosing to reveal herself to Cloud and guide him so she will still have a strong presence going forward. In death she seem's to have pulled a Obi-Wan and grown stronger and seems to have combined with Alternate Aerith's spirit as well. Despite being dead, I believe she will come back from the dead in the form of Coma Aerith by taking over her body during part - Sephiroth - Appears to be a multidimensional being rather then a single entity or possible the original one from the original game even hell bent on changing his fate. Still unknown in all honesty but clearly he is aware of how things play out 6) The Remake and Alternate Universe are colliding and collapsing into each other. The whispers, despite being defeated return once again but this time they seem more interested in Zack. The only people who can and appear to interact with the Alternate timeline are Zack, Remake Cloud, Alternate/Remake Aerith and Sephiroth. The Alternate Universe appears at best to be some kind of dumping ground of sorts.
Alternative aerith didn’t exactly die. Remember Zack KEPT caring for her as did Elmira. I also suspect that why this happened because of the world jumping antics; since aerith really is the only one who can jump between worlds, it makes sense that she can only interact one world at a time. But again this is a theory. I think the comatose state applies to characters who have a direct line to Jenova cells or to the lifestream. It explains why other versions of living chrcaters don’t have that problem; only aerith and cloud do. Still, the fact the material DROPPED has to mean something when Zack rescued her. We also can’t say for certain if this version of Barrett or tifa DIED, recall that red survived. But honestly it didn’t matter as this world-created by accident-is literally the universe tearing itself apart. Notice how this world Seems Wrong. Like Biggs and Zack note they don’t have a good internal clock, Biggs even forgets to visit Marlene which she IMMEDIATELY UNDERSTANDS,that every time Zack decides to act SOEMTHING pops up. It’s because the universe is trying to kill him-fix this problem. Cloud even notes that this world SEEMS TO KNOW it’s dying; it’s why aerith prob went there. I’d say alternative aerith CEASED/DIED once Zack and cloud appeared, but was replaced by the aerith we know from remake or OG. It Afterall the body of the alternative aerith WOKE UP with information only remake/OG Aerith had. Cloud in this world I think ended up getting replaced by this comotose cloud, he disappeared. As an interview said, no chrcater can exist in the same world twice. And this supposed living alternative cloud NEVER SHOWS up. But I’d like to hear your thoughts on why you think alternative Barrett tifa and Aerith are dead. And in seen regards, I’d say either way, the world is now gone-destroyed by meteor or at the very least the sky breaking apart. Zack is now in a more stable world-we don’t know where-and the integrade scene hasn’t happened.
Aerith condemned one timeline to lose to meteor in order for another timeline to prevail against meteor without her having to die. Cloud DID save her, in one timeline at least. I believe he's currently in limbo between two timelines and that's why he still sees her as if she is alive. I don't believe she is an illusion of his mako insanity and I don't think he's seeing her spirit. I believe Aerith is orchestrating a plan that enables them all to succeed without her dying. Cloud can see the universe tear in the sky, just like Aerith and Zack can in their timeline. Nobody else can see it because they haven't been a part of both timelines (yet)
That feeling you suddenly get when you realize that when Sephiroth flings the blood on his sword at Coiud the screen static effect goes on again, which is always used to imply Sephiroth is making Cloud see something or manipulating him. Aerith is actually dead in this timeline. Sephiroth is simply trying to turn Cloud even more insane with his Jenova cell mind control
Everyone's limit break going off because theyre devastated by Aerith dying...yet nothing from Cloud. Poor guy...He's really on the edge thinking he saved Aerith
Maybe Aerith will stay alive 😅 because marlene told zack if u save cloud she wont died. I think it mean something . So it might have a change. But i don't think they should change the story to make the fans happy .afterall the story is awesome that make people willing to wait for it after so many years
If they were just going to kill her off, I don't get even having that scene. It is like she puts it on Zack's shoulders to actually save her. The fact that Zack is active in the story means something. Otherwise, they should have just left him dead if he is not going to influence the story in anyway.
I do wish when the party found Aerith dead it was more an emotional scene, especially with Tifa. Perhaps touching her face and/or at least her hands then eventually start balling. Maybe Barret saying "No, no, no...". etc because I honestly didn't feel anything at that moment which should have had much more impact. Aerith's goodbye at very the end when they're flying away however did hit hard. I don't think it was meant for just Cloud but for everyone. She never did say goodbye to them once it all went down, knowing she will probably never speak to them again.
I don’t know how Part 3 (I know it’s gonna be called Reunion, no one’s gonna change my mind on that) will top Rebirth I hope it does, but Rebirth was absolute perfection. Huge expectations are now set in stone for Square Enix for the finale
Sephiroth still pissed off he died from some army guy he left for dead in his hometown he burned...only to come back and lethally stab him. When Sephiroth stabbed him back that guy used Sephiroth's sword to throw him to his death.
are we going to mention that cloud putting the black Materia in his buster sword without telling the others. probably going to make his mental state worse.
Did Zack return to his own timeline? Because all those flowers seems to have came back life.Which probably mean that Maybe Aerith woke up in that timeline?
It would be a dark plot twist but given the game so far and how sephiroth likes to twist clouds perception on reality i wouldn't surprised if its revealed in part 3 that it was cloud who killed aerith.
"Which is it....a memory or us?" Tifa asked Cloud that in Advent Children. I think I can see why now. I did not think one of the most devastating moments in video game history could be made more devastating....I was clearly wrong. But I am going through this with the knowledge of: Before Crisis, Last Order, Crisis Core, Advent Children, and Dirge of Cerberus. Also remembering the On The Way To A Smile novella's, and Maiden Who Travels the Planet story. I realized I should do this in the Integrate DLC....you know when DeepGround was brought into the mix three years too early. Cissnei (Crisis Core) is now a leader in Gonaga also drew me to look further into the entire compilation while playing. I think everyone should do this. Play VII, Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, and watch read all the rest. Before Crisis is no longer available, so scratch it. But it is giving more depth into this game, as well as some ideas of what is actually going on.
the chemistry and magic that exists between Cloud and Aerith is unique 🥰 there's only one thing that makes me sad...Why didn't we get to see a kiss between them ?? why Square ?? you've made such an incredible relationship between them, full of chemistry, something magical, since FF7 Remake...why did you give Cloud/Tifa a chance to kiss and not Cloud/Aerith ?? someone help me understand please
I’m only guessing, but the major pairings in FFVII are Cloud/Tifa, Cloud/Aerith, and Zack/Aerith. The developers made it very clear with this game that they wanted to satisfy everyone and leave things open-ended for the players to choose who loves whom (or at least who loves whom MOST). Whether this was a strong or poor choice is debatable, but regardless, it was easy for them to make Cloud and Tifa kiss during their optional date scene because it would make Cloud and Tifa fans happy since no one really ships Tifa with anyone else (mostly). For Cloud and Aerith, however, it would cause a rise with Zack and Aerith fans for Aerith to so blatantly move on from Zack so as to kiss Cloud. And since at this point Cloud already remembers Zack as his friend but DOESN’T remember if said friend is alive or dead, and said friend always talked about Aerith adoringly in their conversations, Cloud probably would be a bit more hesitant about making such a blatant move on Aerith (“bro code” or whatever) as directly as he would with Tifa despite him loving Aerith as much as/more than her (again, depending on the players’ choices).
Yes...I know it's easier to have a kiss with Tifa, however I think the best thing to do would be to not kiss with anyone then. It's so strange for me... I admit in all honesty that it was difficult for me to watch this scene, I have nothing against Tifa but Aerith's relationship with Cloud since the Remake was something so special and unique...@@kaylacaldwell7300
Now that the ending of FS happened, I think that Sephiroth on the Edge of Creation taught Cloud the “Block” move to save Aerith. If you will notice Sephiroth’s final attack on Cloud during the remake before it throws off Cloud’s weapon, that is the sameove Cloud used here to block the attack coming from Jenovaroth’s Hell’s Gate. To me it made sense when Sephiroth said “7 seconds will the end”. This is the last Aerith who will die, and she needs to be saved here so they won’t end. Ore Sephiroth cannot leave the Edge of Creation, but I think he is doing what he can to reach through Cloud. He can’t have Cloud end because if that happens, he can no longer exert his control on him. He needs Cloud to do things because he needs to save Aerith which in turn will save others. I’m guessing Sephiroth wanted to save Matt and Lucia or maybe Glenn too if he’s still alive. And even Genesis. Remember, Genesis was awoken from slumber in end of DoC and we don’t know yet what that means. Genesis’ life might be in peril. Ore Sephiroth wishes to save his friends, and without a body in the physical world, he can’t do that. Cloud is his body in the physical world because of the S cells within Cloud. Remember Rosen’s line, “It’s not me who you want to save, you have to choose.” Cloud saving Aerith is what he needed to happen so he can create a new world entirely where everyone can be saved. His desire to save everyone is what pushed him, I thinkthe Lifestream that helped Cloud broke from the Jenovaroth control is Ore Sephiroth’s will in the Edge of Creation.
Why did they cut the water burial scene? The way Aerith's death was handled feels out of place. It seems to me Square is subtly integrating Kingdom Hearts tactics in the ffvii remake series and it makes the scenario very confusing.
Makes no sense for Cloud to do a water burial scene if he thinks Aerith is still alive. Just like his OG lines at her death would make no sense for him to say and then turn around and have a scene where he's talking/laughing with Aerith.
We may see the water burial in the next game as a flashback to reality. Cloud may be living in a delusion right now, “seeing” Aerith’s presence and pretending he saved her when he didn’t.
well guess the game was all good till this point, just to became a clusterfuck of WTF and i watching? I know they are trying to pull a "MCU multiverse" but to make Aerith know her fate and she letting it happens really screws up with the meaning of the original story... can't they just do a remake of the original game and stick with it? No wonder the game tank so bad in japan if they just going to change the story. Oh well... -.- first thing, Sephirot wanted to stop Aerith praying to the planet and releasing Holy to prevent meteor, he was successful to kill her but he did it a bit too late, so if he really wanted to stop Aerith in a multiverse situation he only had to kill her sooner, before she went to the altar of the lost city of the ancients to pray to the planet. no point in trying to save her after she already did the deed. Second thing, I notice the white materia was not glowing a pale green as that was the clear answer the planet listening to Aerith prayer and was going to give her and answer with Holy. Lastly, Nomura sucks when it comes to story telling.
So many people confused about this ending. Aerith has to be dead and that ending can't be avoid so that why the whisper take her away. In this time, the teammate can see the scene aerith dead with blood. That mean all timeline is combine (home coming).
Man this part had me all in my feels. Between Aerith dying and/or not dying and dying to Sephiroth more times than I can count, I almost gave up. What made matters worse is that d@mn smirk on Sephiroth's face after he did that guaranteed kill move. Aww man I wanted to hop in the game beat the ish outta him 😂😂😂
The funeral not being shown is why I think Cloud is hallucinating. He may want to believe she's alive. Seeing and repeating what she said about the sky and their conversation is the same as in Sector 5. He does the same with Zack. Zack and Aerith will help him in some capacity because part 3 is all about The Reunion.
I don't understand Aerith is dead or not, or it just her spirit we see at the battle with Sephiroth, it confuse me. Especially when Cloud say 《Aerith wake up 》 it is her spirit or not?
That screen glitching makes me think or at least hope that yes Universe A Aerith, the one we were playing at was in fact killed by Sephiroth and that's what the gang saw but Cloud has a special connection with Aerith and was able to save the Universe B Aerith when he blocked the attack. That screen glitching could be that BOTH incidents were happening on top of each other and only Cloud was able to interact with the B universe. Aerith might not be dead, but she may be stuck in Universe B but she can still project her spiritual form and be seen by Cloud and talk to him like she is there the whole time. A theory going around right now is that both Aerith and Sephiroth share the same soul and thoughts as their multiverse counterparts. Not clones, not copies, that is in fact Aerith alive and well, she just had her A Universe vehicle destroyed in a sense so she's kinda marooned at the moment in the B universe. Also, she needs to stay at the Temple Of Ancients because she's got a tall order to get to with summoning Holy and all that. I just hope at some point in Episode 3 The Return Of The Cetra that she can manifest her image and talk to Tifa because Tifa is just absolutely decimated by what she saw happen to her friend in the games main time line.
Its such a pity they left out the water burial scene from the OG. Its such a powerful image, with Cloud's speech and everyone saying farewell to Aerith. This new adaptation is alright, but feels like something is missing.
theyre likely saving the water burial scene in part 3 (if you ask me, tifa going into cloud's subconscious is the best possible place they would put it) because it would immediately answer the nature of aerith's status and to what level cloud is deluding himself this time
100% agree,no body talking like normal human being , they're all talking cryptic shit expecting we are supposed to have connections and feels for them,no no way
@@sosis69For sure. The original creators new what they were doing when they put emotion into Aeries death scene. It had all the feels. In our modern world, emotion is side lined and replaced with something superficial and cryptic concepts
@@Kuraerisu Its definitely like a George Lucas situation where even though he created the masterpieces of the original Star Wars triology - he also created the controversial prequel series. Sometimes the original artist need people to reel them back in, and it looks like that hasn't happened with the FF7 Remake project. Which is sad because Nomura might've actually been one of the people to advocate towards staying true to the original but might've been overruled. Would be kind of cool to see the behind the scenes on where some of these decisions are coming from.
Wishful thinking, yes but I am going with the theory that Universe A Aerith the one we have been playing as was killed by Sephiroth but because of the multi verse BS, it splintered again and either Aerith from the dying world who was in the church survived and Cloud saved that Aerith when Sephiroth stabbed the universe 1 Aerith. Also, some people have stated that there are multiple Sephiroths with a unified consciousness stretched across the realities we know of, and it's possible Aerith might be the same. Aerith was comatose in universe B until she got knocked out in Universe A and she used this opportunity to give Cloud her Holy Materia from universe B to take back to Universe A after Sephiroth had depleted her Universe A counterparts materia energy. Sephiroth didn't count on her being able to do that. Sephiroth and Aerith aren't clones. They aren't even really copies in a sense, they ARE all the same person just in different universes sharing the exact same memories and thoughts and can traverse spiritually. Sephiroth and Aerith are playing some SERIOUS four dimensional chess game here! Why Aerith can't physically interact with universe A? Well, her body died and that's what the gang saw when they ran in, Cloud holding her dying body and crying, but since Cloud has been imparted with her knowledge, he is able to see the Universe B Aerith that he saved and that's why he is able to interact. I know it's a clusterfuck theory but I think it's possible that when we saw the screen glitching, that was BOTH stab attempts happening at the same time and overlapping. Sephiroth even talked about in the game about universes touching and interacting. Aerith does have a physical body technically in universe B, but Sephiroth killed her body in universe A which kinda leaves her stranded physically in the B universe which might just be a freaking purgatory now. But she can still use telepathy and astro project into Timeline A where Cloud can see her but she can't physically interact. Everybody else in the group think she's dead and gone but Aerith was always a bit of a jokster😊
I feel bad for Tifa, because Cloud is stuck in between worlds and he can’t perceive Aerith as dead like she can. Tifa won’t get that emotional support she needs from him. 😢
FFVII canon: Aerith is Rosa in 4 of the 6 plays & Aerith is in the ending credits as Rosa & Aerith's date has been default & canon since 1997: #clerith is a non-optional star-crossed love story
I once read on reddit the concerns of fans about the plot of ff7 rebirth. People were concerned that the plot in ff7 rebirth should not resemble that of the kingdom hearts series. Unfortunately, I have to say that their fears were right because the plot of rebirth resembles the kh series, such an example is the many versions of the characters, someone dies but yet returns, and so on. I wonder what Nomura's influence was on the plot of Rebirth.
All of this is from the Final Fantasy series and most of it from Final Fantasy 1 and Final Fantasy 8. The head writer on this game (Kazushige Nojima) also worked on FF8 and was the head writer for KH1 and KH2, so if you want to know where all of the most infamous hallmarks of this guy's writing came from then look up the plot of FF8. Zoomers have no idea how insane Part 3 is going to get LOL
@@catkaboodle They don't. But the hints in the game are there. They're already hinting Ark stuff (XIII?) again, with Chadley, a character with some connections to Dirge type material, and Dirge had basically a Lifestream Ark. So much stuff will happen.
@@SwobyJ Oh god, I forgot about Dirge. It sounds crazy given the obvious references in Remake and Rebirth, but I unconsciously wipe most of that game from my mind when I'm not being reminded of it. Its CGI cutscenes were pretty stylish though. The possibility of a XIII-like concept getting involved is intriguing... they may wind up creating an entirely new timeline/universe that the characters get ported into. Ironically, the concept of an ark carrying the souls(/data?) of people through time and space is a major plot point in Kingdom Hearts UX and you can even see the pods in the first two mainline games. I don't think that existed in FF in the 90s. What did exist as far back as the 80s was the Warriors of Light creating a new timeline by defeating Chaos 2000 years in the past. We shall see if FF7 goes a similar direction.
@@rachmatmulia5212 Not the MCU multiverse... yet. Type the words "incursion" and "marvel" into a search engine and you might be enlightened by what you find. ;)
I think it's a good thing that they ruined a good story by adding unnecessary, pointless alternative timeline space ghosts and even more needless scenes that serve no overarching point.
@@Laterose15Same.
Well did you like the ending? Anyone cry? Get angry?
Main world Aerith's spirit also thanked Cloud for saving her during the last fight
"I saw what you did back there Cloud, thank you."
and Cait Sith's first fortune reading heavily foreshadows this moment:
"Things are looking up so throw your caution to the wind. Place your trust in others and the last minute twist may pleasantly surprise you."
I love this ending.
@@theonecalledlamorak6446 i love this!
Part 3 can't come soon enough.
@@guardian08527 saying that she was Jenova is the stupidest thing i have ever heard.
Exactly there's way to many hints towards what you say which buffles me how many people think Cloud is in denial.
Yeah thats what i assumed happened. Shes alive in another timeline and clpud can see between timelines
That's a horrifying thought that Aerith is capable of that yet oddly satisfying. But a plan like that makes Cloud look sane
@@mettatonneoex Love makes people do crazy things sometimes. I'm pretty sure that timeline was already doomed anyway.
I agree with you! I don’t believe the insanity theory because they’ve promoting this as “defy destiny” and making things right.
I dont think he's hallucinating or acting crazy
I think Aerith touches his face to make him see the alternate timeline where she lives, similar to how she shows Marlene and Red XIII visions to calm them down by touching them.

@@coolrocksounds Not obvious enough for some. There are people who think Cloud is actually going insane.

That actully makes sense
Yeah that makes sense. It was white whispers, not black whispers, that surrounded her when she died

I was disappointed in the ending a bit, but a lot of other parts of the game are really well down and beautiful in retrospect.

Has anyone been able to make out what Cloud's saying around 4:01 ? Im guessing it's his speech from the OG, but it's hard to read his lips.
Yes he says it all ( but along this lines "Aerith will no longer smile and talk" But he sees her her smile and talking and believes she is alive, so i guess thats why this words were blocked)

Well it's obvious that she's dead. The blood that showed up after cloud got his shit together is pretty revealing.
Yeah. Itd be pretty stupid to not kill her, given how integral her death was to the original game (and its the games most iconic moment)
Aerith is dead, but a new timeline was made when Cloud deflected Sephiroth.. so she's alive in that timeline. He saved her & he didn't save her.

The trick is Sephiroth already killed Aerith...in the church. He simply had to swap them to get the result he wanted.
I think that Aerith was the one in the dream and died in the church. What's confusing is what actually happened to Cloud from that timeline?
None of the multiverses matter. There all doomed, except the OG timeline. This new material is only to enhance the story, give it depth, mystery, keep the story interesting for old and new fans alike…..It’s not to change the story
@@andrecaldwell4891 The only way to save the multiverses is to kill Sephiroth that’s why Cloud promises Aerith that he will beat him as then only she would be free but as long as Seph lives world will be in danger since he wants to unite them all into one single timeline because main timeline can’t be changed.

2:00 Cloud’s sword gets a green aura like lifestream when he clashes with Sephiroph to defend Aerith too… don’t know what it means but it’s significant
Cloud saving Aerith created a new timeline where Aerith lives, but in the main timeline Sephiroth did kill Aerith

Yeah man all the psychotic multi-dimensional stuff on top of clouds delusions are just too much. I'm guessing they wanted to take all the violence out of this though, where the original scene was meant to instill shock.
What would terrify me is to find out all of this is in Cloud's head and the FF7 story never changed lol
That would actually be somewhat spot on considering how mentally screwed he is.

Nomura: Perhaps if you wait another four years.
After all, the scene with Zack in the church seems to tease that Aerith will come back to him there in that timeline.
the scene with aerith at the church had more emotion imo cuz of the music
Another hint that he's seeing two timelines at the same time
Schrodinger's Aerith. 🐈 Both alive and dead.
"Give the people what they want." -- The Kinks
The line when they are about to part "It's like a second home" was "it's the Cetra's promised Land after all" in the Japanese. Whatever the "visible" Aerith is at the end, Cloud is fully aware that she is, well, decisively "dead" for all intensive purposes--that her home is now the Lifestream and she won't be eating, sleeping, or physically traveling with the rest of the party.
You know what I didn't need during every important cutscene? Rushing wind and shadows blocking the view

Basically there's two Aerith now... Yeah can't wait for Part 3
I will go on....howling and HOLLOW ❤😢
19:12 Oh, that isn't good...
With that said though, I think Buster Sword will most likely be pretty powerful in Part 3
Tifa really makes me sad. Her and Aerith were so close😢
I think it's a everywhere all at once type of thing.
Don't do mako....it'll have you seeing shiz.
Also loveless "proof that true love conquers all"
Also how when Cloud approaches Aerith, they all turn to look at him because they know he has lost his world. 😢
When he asks her to wake up its just so tragic and he gives her a smile "show me your smile"
The music in this whole sequence is just beautiful.
I wonder. I wonder if they are planning some Tidus thing.
That crossed my mind too.
19:29 damn, they straight up rip the sky off the mcu multiverse
I think we have an incursion event happening and I bet you multiverse portal opened MCU earth other universe.
I like the Aerith and Cloud combo attack it remind me of the Sora and Kairi combo attack in KH 3 remind vs Xehanorth.
i think aerith is dead like in OG but it's now more apparent she can help with the meteor.
Tbh not the biggest fan of this version of her death
I mean, I do like how the entire gang is angy at Sephiroth for committing daerith, really shows how it impacted them, even if this version isn’t as impactful as the og
Aerith is basically Schrödinger's Cat
ok so I do understand what is happening, but it is a bit confusing
1) there are three timelines: Remake, Alternate and Original to keep things simple. Remake is stable, Alternate Timeline is not. Original doesn't serve much of a purpose other then to give us Zach, another version of Cloud and another version of Aerith
2) The Whispers are not really explained but we can assume they are "us" in a way, changing things we didn't like about the original story now when Remake Crew beat "us" like Zach getting his brains blasted out the back of his skull by a rando soldier. The white ones that appear are Aerith's whispers we can presume
3) Alternate Timeline Cast consists of the following:
- Cloud(Alive but never seen, mentioned he survived only during the prologue)
-Tifa (super dead)
-Barrett (hella dead)
-Red XIII (survived whatever the hell happened but was killed trying to stop Shinra from taking Alternate Aerith's body, died in helicopter crash)
- Aerith (omega dead, died in Zach's arms yet still has a major presence during the game)
4) Original we have Zach, Cloud and Aerith (I don't know if this is oringal but Alternate 2 didn't have a nice ring to it) but in a nutshell these versions exist as Paradox's in the Remake timeline as the timeline they came from don't exist anymore.
Probably will become a major part of the final game, I believe Remake Cloud will fully break and/or get killed but Remake/Alternate Aerith will lead Remake Cloud's soul to take over this body and make him whole finally)
- Aerith (alive and the only living Aerith, I named her Coma Aerith since she is in a Coma, sleeping in her room with Coma Cloud, probably will be playable in part 3 in all honesty and taken over by Remake Aerith so we can have her playable in part 3)
5) Remake Timeline has all the characters we know but some small confusion
- Tifa - She was never killed by Sephiroth despite his teasing to Cloud, this was to break Cloud.
Despite being dead, I believe she will come back from the dead in the form of Coma Aerith by taking over her body during part
- Sephiroth - Appears to be a multidimensional being rather then a single entity or possible the original one from the original game even hell bent on changing his fate. Still unknown in all honesty but clearly he is aware of how things play out
6) The Remake and Alternate Universe are colliding and collapsing into each other.

I swear they better save aerith n have her n zack come back in part 3.

Aerith loves cloud so much...
If they were just going to kill her off, I don't get even having that scene. It is like she puts it on Zack's shoulders to actually save her. The fact that Zack is active in the story means something. Otherwise, they should have just left him dead if he is not going to influence the story in anyway.
2:52 Aerith is left alone again
Schrödinger's Aerith
I do wish when the party found Aerith dead it was more an emotional scene, especially with Tifa. Perhaps touching her face and/or at least her hands then eventually start balling. Maybe Barret saying "No, no, no...". etc because I honestly didn't feel anything at that moment which should have had much more impact. Aerith's goodbye at very the end when they're flying away however did hit hard. I don't think it was meant for just Cloud but for everyone. She never did say goodbye to them once it all went down, knowing she will probably never speak to them again.
She talks to cloud a lot after her death.
I don’t know how Part 3 (I know it’s gonna be called Reunion, no one’s gonna change my mind on that) will top Rebirth
I hope it does, but Rebirth was absolute perfection. Huge expectations are now set in stone for Square Enix for the finale
11:30 So is this a 3rd split timeline? Am I interpreting it goes from the main timeline where Aerith is dead to one where Cloud stopped Sephiroth?
Sephiroth playing with someones Mental Illness is so wrong!
Yeah why not
It would be a dark plot twist but given the game so far and how sephiroth likes to twist clouds perception on reality i wouldn't surprised if its revealed in part 3 that it was cloud who killed aerith.
Tbh we can speculate all we want, but as per usual we’ll just have to wait till the next entry 😢
"Which is it....a memory or us?"
Tifa asked Cloud that in Advent Children. I think I can see why now.
I did not think one of the most devastating moments in video game history could be made more devastating....I was clearly wrong. But I am going through this with the knowledge of:
Before Crisis, Last Order, Crisis Core, Advent Children, and Dirge of Cerberus.
But it is giving more depth into this game, as well as some ideas of what is actually going on.
the chemistry and magic that exists between Cloud and Aerith is unique 🥰
there's only one thing that makes me sad...Why didn't we get to see a kiss between them ?? why Square ?? you've made such an incredible relationship between them, full of chemistry, something magical, since FF7 Remake...why did you give Cloud/Tifa a chance to kiss and not Cloud/Aerith ?? someone help me understand please
I know, right? Jessie and Yuffie got a kiss on his cheek, Tifa got a kiss. But Aerith...
Remember Rosen’s line, “It’s not me who you want to save, you have to choose.”
Cloud saving Aerith is what he needed to happen so he can create a new world entirely where everyone can be saved. His desire to save everyone is what pushed him, I thinkthe Lifestream that helped Cloud broke from the Jenovaroth control is Ore Sephiroth’s will in the Edge of Creation.
Just imagine a timeline when Noctis and lighting appears out of nowhere to save Aerith from sepiroth
@@AnbuPrincess Well, I'm not accepting the way Aerith's death was handled in the Rebirth ending. The original did it better.
We may see the water burial in the next game as a flashback to reality. Cloud may be living in a delusion right now, “seeing” Aerith’s presence and pretending he saved her when he didn’t.
@@smb0621 I hope that would be the case in the next game

Is aerith alice or dead
Nomura: Yesn't
well guess the game was all good till this point, just to became a clusterfuck of WTF and i watching? I know they are trying to pull a "MCU multiverse" but to make Aerith know her fate and she letting it happens really screws up with the meaning of the original story... can't they just do a remake of the original game and stick with it? No wonder the game tank so bad in japan if they just going to change the story. Oh well... -.-
first thing, Sephirot wanted to stop Aerith praying to the planet and releasing Holy to prevent meteor, he was successful to kill her but he did it a bit too late, so if he really wanted to stop Aerith in a multiverse situation he only had to kill her sooner, before she went to the altar of the lost city of the ancients to pray to the planet. no point in trying to save her after she already did the deed.
I already feel bad for cloud on the 3rd game. puppet, i see dead people, 😑
Would be more DRAMATIC if they played "no promises to keep" it would be a real tearjerker...
Red XIII sensed her idiot.
@@jamesellis33 I'm aware of that. They highlighted their bond throughout the game. However, he doesn't speak to her or see her still.
oh no who would've seen that coming
This new adaptation is alright, but feels like something is missing.
theyre likely saving the water burial scene in part 3 (if you ask me, tifa going into cloud's subconscious is the best possible place they would put it) because it would immediately answer the nature of aerith's status and to what level cloud is deluding himself this time
I think the original for this scene was so much better. Too many things going on here in Rebirth that ruined the original nostalgic feeling
100% agree,no body talking like normal human being , they're all talking cryptic shit expecting we are supposed to have connections and feels for them,no no way

"The original creators" funny because the original creators are also responsible for this (Kitase, Nomura, Nojima)

Someone spoil it is there another game after this and is Zack and Aierth talk?? Like my man needs to explain to her what happened
The 3rd remake game is already in development after Rebirth's release.
@@ismaelhayes9317 is that where we see endgame
@@prodigy2591 yes that's the endgame
Why does zack and cloud's team doesn't meet?
I'm a little confused?
Nah, can’t say I enjoyed or felt the same strong emotions this time.
Still fantastic game tho.
I feel bad for Tifa, because Cloud is stuck in between worlds and he can’t perceive Aerith as dead like she can. Tifa won’t get that emotional support she needs from him. 😢
If they are saying clouds psychosis is this bad who to say he didnt kill her himself.
I think that'll be something that comes up in part 3. Sephiroth showing Cloud a scenario where he actually did it himself.
FFVII canon: Aerith is Rosa in 4 of the 6 plays & Aerith is in the ending credits as Rosa & Aerith's date has been default & canon since 1997: #clerith is a non-optional star-crossed love story
cloud go crazy
The Heck did I just watch?
I guess she's a ghost now, just hanging around.
She was kind of hanging around in the og lol. Even after advent children she was still visiting Cloud.

I think Nomura has been influenced by the MCU multiverse concept. LoL
@@rachmatmulia5212 Not the MCU multiverse... yet. Type the words "incursion" and "marvel" into a search engine and you might be enlightened by what you find. ;)
Aerith is alive and she will meet Zack 😮
She loves Cloud and she is dead
@@НикитаСимонян-ж5еshe love cloud and she is alive and dead. Alive in different timeline
Is anyone else tired of alternate timelines/multiverses? It's getting old.
I think it's a good thing that they ruined a good story by adding unnecessary, pointless alternative timeline space ghosts and even more needless scenes that serve no overarching point.
