    Kara, I really appreciate your videos! Excellent job! On the keywords on the resume you actually have a section and just type in a bunch of words? Someone actually reading your resume won’t think it is odd and inappropriate?

    • @karaleise
      @karaleise  4 роки тому

      Thanks Truth for checking out the channel! Yes you will create a section at the very bottom of your resume with keywords. Its the last thing on your resume. This is not going to be strange to a recruiter because everyone knows what keywords mean. Also without it, it may be harder to get to an actually person to read your resume anyway - so its very useful and not inappropriate at all!

    • @chinyereubani7075
      @chinyereubani7075 3 роки тому +1

      What someone told me is that for these keywords, you have to change the colour to white so it’s not noticeable. I haven’t tried it but is that what you were referring to Kara because definitely a bunch of keywords at the bottom of a resume will look out of place

    Would it be ideal as a freshman in college to go to the IIBA stuff and volunteer? Is there too big of a worry for conflicts and such with school. Or is it the opposite and a great way to start getting out there earlier?

    • @karaleise

      Hi Austin, If you are interested in starting a career as a Business Analyst then volunteering at the IIBA is a great opportunity you should take advantage of. You can also attend their chapter meetings to get more exposure to the field!

    Hey Kara, I recently landed up a job as a BA. I do not have any previous experience working as a BA. However I know the concepts of project management and business analysis. I have studied project management and I am a certified BA too. Its just I am new to this industry. Could you guide me what should I expect at the job on the first day and do I need to worry being the least experienced person in the team?

      Hi Ritu, thanks for checking out the video. Yes you should include your unpaid projects in your resume. Your resume is about your experience, not your wage. Please include it if it adds to your relevant experience to help you land a BA job.

    • @karaleise

      Thanks for watching James! To answer your question...it depends. You will have better success in becoming a BA if you have a first degree (preferably in business, computer science or management etc) and then look for your first entry level BA job.

    What if the company is hiring for new grads. How much would they expect you to know and be able to apply if they know you are coming out of undergrad?

    • @karaleise
      @karaleise  3 роки тому +1

      Great question! Please watch my free course on my website where you will get more free training organized to be more helpful to you: karaleise.com/business-analyst-free-courses/
      If you are a new grad employers tend to give you a bit more training and there is more detailed structure in what you are expected to do. You also will get more limited projects. - so don't be scared. They know you are a new grad and will support you.

      Hi tiny love, thanks for checking out the video!! If you have a degree it is much easier to break into business analysis. If you have no degree and you have no experience it is more challenging. Don't give up though, if the job asks for degree and you don't have one, you can use any certification you have or any ba courses you did to fill in the education section on your resume and still keep applying!
