You are amazingggggg
Kara, I really appreciate your videos! Excellent job! On the keywords on the resume you actually have a section and just type in a bunch of words? Someone actually reading your resume won’t think it is odd and inappropriate?
Thanks Truth for checking out the channel! Yes you will create a section at the very bottom of your resume with keywords. Its the last thing on your resume. This is not going to be strange to a recruiter because everyone knows what keywords mean. Also without it, it may be harder to get to an actually person to read your resume anyway - so its very useful and not inappropriate at all!
What someone told me is that for these keywords, you have to change the colour to white so it’s not noticeable. I haven’t tried it but is that what you were referring to Kara because definitely a bunch of keywords at the bottom of a resume will look out of place
I can like this a million times. Short, simple, analytical and explanatory.
I have a legal background and I want a business analyst certification. Which certification would you recommend please? Can I also get them on Coursera.
Hi TP, thanks for watching and supporting the channel. I answer this very question in this video: ua-cam.com/video/1sXuh57Q4XY/v-deo.html. You can also find more information in this article: karaleise.com/certified-business-analyst-professional-cbap/
Thank you, it was helpful for me. I’m starting my BA role soon.
Best of luck in your new role! If you need further career advice you know where to come! Please also join my email list at www.karaleise.com!
How’s it going?
I am a fan of this channel and i will sure get my first BA job. Can you do a video of what your first day as a BA looks like? What are the expectations?
Thanks Wiyli, very good idea for my next video...stay tuned!
Would it be ideal as a freshman in college to go to the IIBA stuff and volunteer? Is there too big of a worry for conflicts and such with school. Or is it the opposite and a great way to start getting out there earlier?
Hi Austin, If you are interested in starting a career as a Business Analyst then volunteering at the IIBA is a great opportunity you should take advantage of. You can also attend their chapter meetings to get more exposure to the field!
Hey Kara, I recently landed up a job as a BA. I do not have any previous experience working as a BA. However I know the concepts of project management and business analysis. I have studied project management and I am a certified BA too. Its just I am new to this industry. Could you guide me what should I expect at the job on the first day and do I need to worry being the least experienced person in the team?
Hello Jay. Can we connect? your linked In profile ??
Thanks a bunch for the video. Everything is being well explained in a simple manner, accordingly.
However, I'm a bit curious ~ if I may ask, please how did you get your B.A Job ? (And what was your study field's background. Was it economy? management? Etc).
Please your answer(s) are substantial to me.
Hi Abraham, thanks for watching.!Here is a video on how I landed my first BA job in the US: ua-cam.com/video/tAzDwDwbLW8/v-deo.html
Kara Leise,,, Please i need help. I have tried to learn but it seems not to be working
Hi Kara , do you recommend including unpaid projects in resume ? Is it a good idea what do you suggest?
Hi Ritu, thanks for checking out the video. Yes you should include your unpaid projects in your resume. Your resume is about your experience, not your wage. Please include it if it adds to your relevant experience to help you land a BA job.
Please let me know how to become a certified BA
Thank you very much.
I have experience but other field. It is considered experience.
THANKS FOR THE INFO...MY QUESTION IS ....HOW LONG DOES IT TAKES TO BECOME BA
Thanks for watching James! To answer your question...it depends. You will have better success in becoming a BA if you have a first degree (preferably in business, computer science or management etc) and then look for your first entry level BA job.
hi , as i am beginner ,,, will you please help with cover letter and resume
Hi Megha! thanks for checking out the video. I don't do resume reviews but there are a few sites that offer this service and some are free: www.findmyprofession.com/career-advice/free-resume-review-sites
What if the company is hiring for new grads. How much would they expect you to know and be able to apply if they know you are coming out of undergrad?
Great question! Please watch my free course on my website where you will get more free training organized to be more helpful to you: karaleise.com/business-analyst-free-courses/
If you are a new grad employers tend to give you a bit more training and there is more detailed structure in what you are expected to do. You also will get more limited projects. - so don't be scared. They know you are a new grad and will support you.
@@karaleise Thank you for responding! I will watch that video!
does this still apply if i dont have a degree?
Hi thanks for watching. Employers usually require some form of higher education.
Hi Can I get to add with you in LinkedIn?
Hello ms karaleise, can you recommend a good course on udemy. I have close to 5 years it experience but want to transition to a ba career
Hi Tina!
5 years IT experience will serve you well and make it easier for you to transition to a BA role! I have not personally taken a BA fundamentals course on Udemy so I can't recommend any but here are the top rated ones that others have liked: bit.ly/2T0zLei
You can also try LinkedIn Learning: bit.ly/2P9pQSx
Hope this helps!
Valuable information. Thank you so much. I love you channel. 🙏❤️
@@karinavintimilla-figueroa6844 I live for comments like these! Thanks so much!
Kara Leise Do you recommend any particular software that I should start looking into? I mean for entry level BA? Thank you. 🙏
ECBA?
Thanks for watching. I have a video that helps you determine which BA certification you need: ua-cam.com/video/1sXuh57Q4XY/v-deo.html
Can I still break in without a degree because job posting says I need it
Hi tiny love, thanks for checking out the video!! If you have a degree it is much easier to break into business analysis. If you have no degree and you have no experience it is more challenging. Don't give up though, if the job asks for degree and you don't have one, you can use any certification you have or any ba courses you did to fill in the education section on your resume and still keep applying!
Here is my list of online BA courses you can check out: karaleise.com/business-analyst-beginner-courses/
Thank you so much for the in depth talk, much appreciated (WALES UK)
