I hurt my wrists over doing yoga and the recovery has been very slow. This video that is gentle on the wrists is greatly appreciated! You are my very favorite yoga teacher -- at home and online. Your explanations, gentle reminders and suggestions help me learn about my body in the postures. Blessing to you for your generous spirit. Jana

You are amazing to watch my man. As a newcomer to yoga with a lot of weight training experience, it was cycling that slowly drew me this direction. I started stretching before and after because I knew that "it's good for you." Well, with somewhat of a competitive spirit and an overall desire to grow, I started pushing myself to become flexible. The more I stretched, the more I enjoyed it and the more flexible I became. Meanwhile, I was still weight training and cycling. Humbly speaking, I was growing into the best physique and overall health that I've experience in my life. Fast forward about a year (as in, just a month or so ago)...I 'm in my local gym and I start stretching on this mat that has different illustrations for yoga poses - so of course I start "trying" to do a few. Later that night (being the research via UA-cam everything type), I stumbled across you. Now I'm addicted to: 1. your videos 2. yoga 3. researching yoga 4. doing yoga 5. your videos. Yoga is nothing like I thought it was. It is amazing and has literal changed my life. The benefits and results of it already in my life are so good and so sweet. You are truly an artist. Your flexibility, form and transitions...wow! Keep doing exactly what your doing. I love everything about all of your videos too. Very informative and inspirational. Quality of the video, audio mix (natural environment and voice over), and then, what you're actually doing - killin' it. I could go on and on. Thank you. Dearly. Thank you. Namaste.

David T. Kurtz Thanks David what a nice message. I'm so glad that you're amped on yoga. You'll have to come on a retreat some time to learn to deepen your practice. Also, another option is there's lots of amazing teachers in the Iyengar Yoga tradition here in the US that you could learn tons from.

Yoga With Tim Yeah, I checked out your website to see where your classes are located because I normally visit SoCal a few times a year (I live in Ohio). I would love to come to one of your classes next trip. In the meantime, I have a lot to enjoy while practicing...but I would like to also read a book. Any recommendations as to an all-encompassing yet understandable intro-to-yoga book? I Google'd Iyengar Yoga and that of course lead me to B.K.S. Iyengar. Have you read or heard anything on Light on Yoga? Rock on Tim!

I, unfortunately missed out on that one so far, glad I discovered it among the Tim's Great traditional flow presented at the right pace. I do include 3 Sun Saluations after the first forward bends to build up more agni. This type of vinyasa flows is the best Tim can bring to us. Keep it up, and thanks again.

Quick question: I'm not flexible enough yet to bend all the way down from my hips and keep my back straight. Is it better to bend lower and round your back, or more shallow and preserve a straight back? Does that make sense?

Thanks for sharing your classes, Tim! Always nice to find good quality yoga with clear instructions.
You wanted feedback and suggestions for classes: I'd love some cardio class, some full class working up to Pincha Mauyrasana, some (more) longer classes (50min or more), love sweaty classes that incorporates some fun poses in the transitions, love strong hip opening classes (pref Deep ones, like working up to leg behind the head and incorporate it in some armbalance/or lotus pose and incorporate it in a headstand or similar..) , backbend classes (pref Deep ones...like working up to Viparita Dandasana/Full Dancer/KingPigeonFour etc)....sweaty twist classes.
I'd also love if savasana (a couple of mins or so) was included in the recording, so the class gets a smooth ending. It would be nice to feel finshed before the ads start playing again, or not having to get up to pause the video when just layed down in savasana.
There you have some suggestions, but feel free to just do what you're inspired to do and what feels the best for you.
Thanks again, really appeciating your classes! Most have been somewhat basic for my level, but I really like your style, and you incorporate some inversions and armbalances here and there, so its fun :)

Hi Tim... started following your yoga videos. By far they are they best ones I have come across on youtube as most of the videos don't go into how and what to do with the postures while yours clearly indicate "use your inner arm to ......"...
I am very less flexible in my chest and shoulder areas. Also, less flexibility in legs (quads gluts etc.)
Can you please suggest something around this. Thanks

Hi Tim, thank you for this sequence. It's one of my all time favourites. But as with most yogas I have to look for alternate moves when you move to the seated position and do the forward folds. I have tried sitting on a block and knees bent but I really struggle because of hamstring and hip flexor tightness. I wonder if you have any alternatives for seated sections or advice for someone really struggling in the seated position. Namaste. Any advice?

  • @rodriogq

Hi Tim, this was another great vid, thank you for that. As you encouraged comments and special requests, I just wanted to share that I have really tight hips specially when it comes to forward bends (either seated or standing) and with the legs apart. While doing forward bends in sun salutations for instance I have no problems finding space in my spine and really getting to reach out and stretch, however if my legs are open I can barely sit with my back erected, leave alone bending forward! Do you ave any tips or recommendations? I have also practiced a couple of times with your other video "Yoga Forward Bends With Tim Senesi", however I can only really do those postures if I bend my knees more than just slightly... I wonder if I'm going in the right direction or if I should try and change my practice and/or focus on working other things and then maybe coming back to forward bends in the future? Sorry if i'm just rambling on in here! thanks again. Kind regards

    • @YogaDose

***** Good point. I think the point of the video was to do very little, so that when you did do a plank or arm balance you could use the stabilizing muscles properly so that you wouldn't sink into the wrist. Kinda like a test. Eventually weak/injured areas need to be strengthened. So this is an attempt at that. Make sense?
