Just found out the Price for a Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU @ Canada Computers; You can 'Pre-Order' It for: $669.00 Cad. Best Case Scenario: If I could manage to Save $200.00/Month, It would take me 4 Months to Afford the New CPU!!! Just renewed my Mortgage & I'm now gonna Pay: $200.00 more a Month!!!
Common practice. Or Amazon will just put up a sale number only based on original msrp to way over inflate the savings. Saw it with the 7800x3d when it dropped to 320. They showed massive discount number compared to msrp when it was only like $20 less than what it was a few weeks prior
Just a heads up, I did NOT get the notification for this video... And, I have it set up for "ALL NOTIFICATIONS" for your channel. Great video, tho! Keep up the good work Jason! I think I'm gonna stick with my 7900xt for a while. This thing has been rocking some 4k FarCry and RDR2 for me.
What CPU are you using? I got my 9800X3D today (at MSRP thank god) and have to decide between an RTX 4070Ti Super or a 7900XT next week. I'll probably jump to the next generation cards once they come out anyway but still... 7900XT is winning quite a bit for me now
I can still play everything on my old 1080 ti, but it is getting to the point where if the right deal comes along I will upgrade. I honestly think people should seriously consider those at $105. It's a great price and it runs everything I've thrown at it. Yes, not on the most extreme settings, but it gets decent frames on modest settings. The interesting thing is, I'm somewhat fortunate and well off when it comes to money so I could buy anything I want, and I still refuse to pay insane prices for these GPUs. I wish more people would just say no.
Bless your heart. Simple person right here. I stop being able to play games on a 2080ti years ago. Cant imagine a 1080ti for what and how I want to play. Life is too short if you have it. It’s never going to go back to what it was, and why suffer if you truly have it. Just sell your old stuff. I always do.
Own a 5700xt since launch, it takes everything you throw at 1080p. I'm as well been watching these unfair prices and waiting for a fair opportunity. This year is different, we don't have crypto mining buying all GPUs, covid etc which made these unreal prices. This year is 100% safe to buy a GPU ex; 7800xt- 7900GRE, and only see a 90$ depreciation in around 3 yrs which is nothing.
same here. it's almost more about the "game" of getting the best bang for your buck. just seems like a waste to get a 4080 super, when i can get great 1440p performance with a 7800 xt for half the price. maybe it's just how we were raised.
Honestly they both ask way too much for their products. Pretty sad that a $2000 US Ngreedia RTX 4090 in 2024 can't even completely max out a game like Fortnite & Apple products are even worse - Spending $1500 on the newest IPhone for what ??? 2-4 extra features that you'll probably never use.
Personally I am not paying 2k for a gpu. I am happy with your suggestions of 7700 7800 7900 in different variations. Nvidea is just taking advantage of the AI market but that will change soon, there are a number of other manufacturers that will challenge them. It won't be GPUs but it will pressure Nvidea. I will probably wait for an 8000 gpu paired with a 9800x3d thanks for all you do Jason
Unfortunately the AI market isn't changing from CUDA anytime soon. AI just runs significantly better on CUDA. It's kinda a mess to run on anything else. Does it work? Sure, but it's not nearly as good. So for the time being, Nvidia will continue to be the chonky boy.
Please get a monitor that makes use of the power. 1440p should be the new minimum with how absurd framerates are getting. Oled is becoming affordable and I can’t look back at IPS or VA anymore after 2 years on LG oled c2.
Thanks Jason! I'm still more than content with my 5600/6750 combo. Plays everything at great settings at 1440P. I actually downgraded from a 7800XT and have it sitting on a shelf next to my 6800, 6600, 6650, 5700xt, A770, A580, and my 1080ti. I didn't need the extra frames and the 6750 runs quieter and draws less power and causes less heat. And yeah, I probably enjoy chasing a good deal on graphics cards more than I enjoy using them, but I do use them a lot. I've got another 20 or 30 older cards going back 20+ years to my old Radeon 9800 pro and my original card 3dfx Voodoo 2.
Hmm... I probably have some headroom to run a better card (5700x / 6700XT). (I moved up from a 5600x to get a couple of extra cores for running a VM or two in the background)
I feel like me and everyone else in the market looking for a midrange aMD gpu messed up not getting them on prime day, but I got my fingers crossed and waiting for black Friday cyber Monday
I just topped off my AM4 build with a 5700x3d. Its crazy how short of a time AMD has taken to make both it and the 5800x3d (both great CPUs), look like they're yesterday's news. Good on them! They've really been embarrassing intel regarding its offerings over the past few years.
I'm still tempted by the 7900 GRE even with the 7800 getting cheaper. It's my first build and i want something to last a few years. Willing to shell out a bit more.
7900 XT could get down to around $600, maybe even less. AMD needs to liquidate these. Remember that RX 8000 is coming and will likely improve price/performance in this price category, so mostly you're buying if you don't want to wait 3-4 months.
@PCBuilderChannel been without a PC for a few months and I'm saving up until January for the build. It's smart to wait but I kinda want something soon. I'll keep an eye out on the 7900 xt price
@@PCBuilderChannel Odd with no word from AMD targeting non-Highend if that means 8000 RDNA4 will be similar to when Radeon Flagship was mid-range 5700XT. Would be hard to imagine 8700XT giving 7900XT performance at below $600. Personally it makes sense for 8000 RDNA4 flagship to match 7900 GRE and be price competitive. (I think if 8000 series sticks with 12gb-16gb for both 60 and 70 class GPUs (if miminking 5600 &5700 era) that could be a smart move.) They are promising better Ray-tracing performance with this upcoming generation.
@@PCBuilderChannel I sincerely hope AMD doesnt slow down production of the GRE to try to push more sales of the 7900XT and XTX. I plan to buy the card this fall. The stock at my local microcenter is extremely low and they havent updated it for weeks now. Only 2 models left and neither of them are desirable (14" XFX and uglly white ASROCK).
I went for a 7900gre saphire nitro for 610$ a few months ago to hold me over till the 50 series gets here and it's a solid card running 1440p at high/ultra with above 120fps on most the latest games I personally would recommend going for a 7900xt if you have the extra cash and intend on keeping it for years tho but investing in a solid brand like hellhound, red devil or saphire nitro are def worth
I already picked up a Sapphire 7700xt Nitro + for an amazing £314. I'd love to pick up a 7800xt or 7900gre but I've been spoilt with the deal on the 7700xt.
Going to try and buy a Battlemage for tyhe secondary system if cheap enough, just to see. Also hope it plays nice with Intel QAT 8950, can pull some sweet Giddy tricks maybe.
I have a 4060 , I was going to buy the 4080 super today but I was thinking if is a good time , should I wait for Black Friday and cyber Monday or should I just wait for next gen ??
i just got a 7600 Xt for bout 200 euros since im building a new pc ( coming from laptop) and waiting till april or may to "upgrade" my gpu ( i have 9800x3d Luckily, pro art x670e, with 1000 WATTS OF POWERWERWEREWER=) im happy with that
Yeah I’m in a bit of a weird spot. I’m currently buying parts for a substantial upgrade PC build (9800X3D, etc…) and I’m stuck deciding between buying the 4080 Super now for $1,000 or waiting for the 5080 with uncertainty on price/availability. Maybe I’ll just need to end up doing both just in case lol
Buy now or wait until January?. AMD will offer a 7900 GRE class of card with Ray tracing twice as fast. But only 5% of people use Ray tracing regularly. Nvidia will once again offer no improvement in price/performance of the 5000 series. So the next two years of graphics cards will be meh. Under these circumstances you should buy a card now if got a good sale.... If you are afraid of tariff increases well I bought a card in June to avoid the tariff increases which were then delayed...
Found your channel about a month ago and have consumed a bunnnch of your content since then. Asked multiple questions to which you and a bunch of other people helped me narrow down what I want to build so thank you and your community for that. Decided to go with the 7800X3D, Dont want to deal with a bunch of BIOs updates for the 9800X3D or I would go with that. But, I am looking at the 7900XTX Sapphire Nitro, Seems to be the best behind the 4090 nd the price for them are hovering 950-990. What is your thoughts on this GPU? Is sapphire a good company in your experience? I was gonna go with the 4070 Ti S but price for performance it doesnt match the sapphire nitro. If any of you reading this has any thoughts please let me know!
hi Jason! please help me with an advice. For a gaming PC, which I will keep for a few years, where I will play in 2k resolution, basically 90% of the time just Pubg, what do you recommend I get? Ryzen 5 7600x with 7800 xt or Ryzen 7 7700x with 7900 xt? Thanks!
Thanks Jason for the video.Bro do you think 9800X3D and 4090 , do you need a 1200 Watts supply or a 1000Watts is enough? Acording to some power supply calculator ,it is a 850 w consumption .What do you think? Thanks.
@@coolissimo69 oh then I'm not sure it would be. But if you'll eventually have the money to buy 4090 you'd probably also have the money to get a new PSU.
I command my 9800x3d and Asus tuf x870-plus, Noctua N-15 with corsair vengeance RGB CL36 , i am just thinking about the difference between CL30 and CL36 ? Thx for advise
Hey PC Builder Jason, I need your help desperately. My PC consists of a ROG STRIX WiFi 6 AM5 motherboard and a Corsair H100i Elite Cappelix AIO, 32GB of DDR5 G.Skill AMD EXPO CL 6000 memory, a 2TB Gen 5 NVMe SSD, a PowerColor Hellhound OC edition RX 7900 XTX (max overclocked and max undervolting), a 1500W gold-rated PSU, in an ugly bulky Lian Li case. What I'm getting at is, should I swap my AMD GPU and ruin my all-AMD PC, or should I keep it and keep optimizing it while also waiting for FSR 4 AI? Now, mind you, one of my favorite games is Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition, and I'm running everything to the max on 1440p with AMF and Frame Generation, but not at the Extreme preset because it barely makes a difference, and it It says I'm getting 80 fps, but it doesn't feel as smooth as an Xbox Series S, and my PC is ten times stronger. Keep in mind that I play my games on a TV while sitting in my bed. Should I keep it and just use modded ReShade and spread this phrase I'm saying? "I will pay anyone $50 to show and teach me how to install game mods from Nexus correctly because I've tried everything. Again, I will pay ANYONE $50 TO TEACH ME, please. I'm begging anyone." ❤
early black friday is the new black friday, thats why i jumped on the newegg bundle for the B650 + 7600x + 32ram for $330. I sold the B650 and 7600x for $320 and got myself some better parts like MSI mortar b650 and x7900. Right now is the best time to get rid of your AM4 parts, because people are spending money before xmas, and who knows if anyone is going to have much money next year with the way the economy is going.
I picked up a Sapphire Pulse RX 7900 GRE in a Prime Day deal (from Spanish Amazon), was 10% below any other equivalent options and just a bit more than the 7800xt upgrade I'd been looking for at the right price at various € retailers. My impression is it's a very nicely put together card similarly sized to my Red Devil 6700xt. The sag bracket is a bonus addition, will try out Trixx software sometime and overall I see RDNA3 progression on RDNA2. 16GB VRAM restores my headroom, I had to use lossy texture compression for some OpenGL software I use. Some people I know who went with 3070 8GB had to buy a 4070 but I've spent much less and have a real upgrade 😀😀
I think it would have been important to mention the potential tariffs inflating costs next year on top of what Nvidia/AMD is already going to be charging for US customers. If you're in the market at this point I'd say buy a good deal and be happy you're not going to pay a potential 40% mark-up (this is on the high end worst case scenario, but not unlikely).
definately the best and most clear channel for advice about everything pc related, again thankyou for your continued advice and keeping us up to date with this stuff mate.
Whatre your thoughts on pairing a 3080 ti with a 7800x3d? I have a coworker upgrading and hes giving me a pretty good deal on the 7800x3d. Seems good and gives me a chance to upgrade in the future
Suggestions Please? I currently am downsizing from ATX to ITX for the living room. I will be using an I5 12600k from an older build to new build. I just got an Asus ROG Z690 I and JONSPLUS Z20 case for new build. What ram kit do you recommend? Also, I would like to upgrade my EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 XC3 ULTRA GAMING gpu to something that can handle FINAL FANTASY XVI and Black Myth Wukong at 1440p.I will be connecting the new pc to a LG 55 inch UT75 tv via hdmi. I would appreciate any advice that could help me with this build. Thank you
Depends on if the Z690 is a DDR4 or DDR5 Motherboard. As for the GPU you could go 7800XT/7900GRE on the AMD side or 4070 Super on the Nvidia side. Any higher and you'd be Bottlenecked.
It uses DDR5. Also do you know if the I5 13600k is safe to use now or do you recommend sticking with 12600k? Amazon has a sale on the 13600k that's why I'm asking? Thanks
@@LamarTaylor-x2j stick with the 12600K because I'm not sure the 13600K is safe to use yet. As for the RAM the G.Skill Ripjaw 6000 CL30 would be good for you.
what would you replace a ryzen 7 3800x paired with a 2060 with? High fps and graphics wanted. want to get into sim racing. dont want to spend more than 2500 for the whole pc
I really like that MSI Expert deal for $729. It looks like the card is now sold out, but I would pick it up with the game deal if it comes back in stock. In your opinion, what price would the 7900 GRE have to be vs a $429 7800 XT to get your recommendation?
For my 7800X3D build, I'm monitoring 4K-level AMD prices closely, but probably not buying until RDNA4. I'm also still hoping BattleMage will be competitive. With no interest in ray tracing, upscaling, or frame generation, I have nearly zero interest in Nvidia GPUs; the last ones I bought were from the Turing line. I'd consider a used 3090 for a production system, but not at current prices.
upgraded to a 5700x3d cpu a few months ago and looking at gpus like this im really into getting the 7700xt or the 7800xt. Definitely want the 7800xt if its on a good sale or 7700xt if i can get one with a nice cooler/heatsink for the quieter operations.
Thank you for this great video Jason! I found a Rtx 4070 Super for $540 Open box from Best buy. Do you have the same opinion on it as you do at retail price ?? Thank you !
Question for you, Jason: I use a 1440p Ultrawide gaming monitor. Should I be considering 4k capable cards because of the extra wide pixels, or do the 1440p cards have equal performance on standard resolution and ultrawides?
What gpu should I upgrade to from a 3060 12GB, looking for a gpu under $600! Is this time of holidays the best time to buy? Or better to wait for new releases?
@@kelley09162 I have a i7-12700k, and I use my gpu to primilary game but sometimes I do video editing, streaming, and I'm currently attempting to try and learn a bit of blender as of recently. I'd say my gpu would be paired with gaming if I had to only pick one aspect.
i picked up a rx6800 a while ago, but im still rocking am4 r5 3600. I was thinking of getting a microcenter deal to switch for AM5. They got a bundle for a Ryzen 5 7600x3D with 32gb of ram and a ASUS tuf b650 plus wifi for $450. You think that is too overkill? They also have a Ryzen 7 7700x bundle for $399 or a Ryzen 5 7600x with 16gb for $299. I could always go for a 5700x3d but I wanted to get on am5 and ddr5.
i want the rx 7900 gre, but i dont know if my board tuf gaming b450 with ryzen 7 5700x will run fine with that graphic card... i ve a rtx3060 right now, by the way.
I could probably afford to upgrade soon but no real need to unless I see a major price drop on a 7800 XT or 7900 GRE. My 3060 Ti is still going strong so no rush. I'll most likely keep what I have & upgrade sometime after the 8000 Series launches. Thanks again for sharing :)
I plan on building my first pc, if you want I can add the pc part picker list but should I buy during Black Friday deals or wait for prices to get cheaper after these new gens release?
Hey Jason, I have right now the RX 6700 XT nitro+ undervolting, I'm going to change my actual build (i7 8700 - Asus 370-P 3200Mhz 16b ram). I want to prepare it for nextgen GPU HIgh end spec. I'm going to pick X670E MSI Gaming plus, Trident 32Gb 6000mhz RAM and CPU 9700x (the best price/performance right now). What do you think ? 9800X3D and 7800X3D are over priced right now and also more core are better because I love MMORPG that are CPU focus :))
Ah, yes, the future-proofer overpayer that gets an uber tier PC in the middle of technology swaps and then regrets not waiting a few months for the next tech to drop and the new DDR platform to be more stable. Especially in this sad VRAM/DDR5 8k clocks situation (with no good motherboards to support actual overclocking.)
Totally up to you and if you also do production with your pc. Personally I would consider the 7600 or 7600X as you won’t get much of a boost with the 9700X in gaming over it. I’d save your money for that GPU upgrade with it. My personal 4k gaming rig is a 7600X 7900XT for example. See our 7600 build guide for more
@@PCBuilderChannel Yes I checked them.. But I like the 9700x that with a bit of OC have very high performance (I can find it for 300€). Patricio what do you mean ?
Its been awhile but I finally got my first part to start a pc build, a xfx 7700xt! Used but barely. I got it for significantly cheaper than any new gpu will be for black friday. Really stuck between a 7500f & 7600 cpu. I know performance is close but I find having a igpu would be extremely helpful for troubleshooting graphics cards, settings, etc when not having a spare gpu. I thought all am5 cpus had one but I guessed wrong.
Well I'm looking to build a entirely new computer and I don't have one, for VR. I'm looking at the rx7900xtx, I sure hope you're right on the low $700s. Would like to stay around $1500 after tax, but i'm not limited, been able to get right around that with a $835 xtx price and a R5 9600x with the bundle deals on new egg and Microcenter. At low 700s price it will allow me to up the processor from non x3d to x3d. I live by a Microcenter so a 7600x3d is easy to get at a minimum. Personally think the 7800x3d is too high right now, saw it for $200ish in a Microcenter bundle in July thinking would be cheaper Black Friday, doooh! The plan now is to get the big card and the processor good enough to not BN. Then get the 9800 or whatever when it drops on price on a different BF years from now. Cheaper upgrade path for extra fps in a few years, but if the prices are right might just happen now on the higher end cpu. Bring on BLACK FRIDAY daddy got a computer to build! VR Arcade here we come.
Desperately hoping to get a GRE in white at a strong discount. Failing that a 7800 XT in white. The 4070 Super would have to drop super far to tempt me. GRE supply here in Canada seems to be dwindling and getting anything in white is like a $40-50 CAD premium.
Looking for the absolute best matching GPU for a 5800X3d at 4K. I would like to just drop it in and keep it for the life of the Pc. I game a lot, record game videos, create content and would like good ray-tracing. I'm still using a RX580 from my last build and it's finally starting to show it's age. Looking to just drop a new one in for the next ten years.
Depends on what your budget is but the 4070 Ti Super or 4080 Super would be good here. You could also go 7900XT or 7900XTX but it won't be as good for Ray Tracing and may not be as good for your Production Work.
I bought a 4070 laptop on a flash sale from BestBuy for 899 and now it's back at 1399.... And I got the game bundle didn't even realize it was included..... Now that I've replaced my 10 year old laptop I'm ready to start building my gaming desktop.
@@ishowmeatsui It's more than enough but I'm mainly gonna use my laptop for stuff when I'm away from home. Desktop graphics cards regularly more powerful than similar laptop graphics cards. My laptop specs minimum will be the 4070 ti super with the new 9800x3d cpu.
I bought a refurbished reference 7900 XTX for $800 from Micro Center and it came with 40K: Space Marines II and Unknown 9: Awakening. I can't complain, especially since the reference card is more or less impossible to find new.
Bought a bunch of grow gear for 350 worth of thousands. I had cash saved for a 4070 ti super but in a week got a free5700x3d n ram kit 32gb 3200 cl16. Not in a rush. I gor a 4x8 and 4x3 growtwnt hoodvent inlike 4 250w sansung lh301h diodes alot of stuff. Gpu next pay maybe. Also what pairs with a 5700x3d.. i want fidelity so 4070 ti super. Im dumb tho so. Comments welcome. Does an7900gre have good fidelity? Vs nvidia?
7900XT is stronger in gaming than the 4070 ti super and cheaper so I’d consider that. Unless ray tracing is really important to you then 4070 ti super is a great choice
I hate how they do early deals. Like newegg will have their sale price timer counting down, then it ends, and the same thing goes back on sale for slightly cheaper.
The annoying part about the game bundle is that if you didn't build before that offer expired you don't get it. I couldn't get all my parts before it expired.
I recently built a new machine with a 7800x3d and a 4080 super, and couldn’t be happier with the performance, I really only use it for gaming so I’m glad that I didn’t wait for the 9800x3d, I’m just hoping I didn’t make the wrong decision getting my 4080 super instead of waiting for a 5080.
I think you made the right choice. Realistically 5080 will only provide meaningful real life benefit if you’re dedicated to 4K gaming with max ray tracing. And it will likely be very difficult to get at launch. Beyond that your set up should you leave set for a long time.
Hey, I've noticed whenever you or another creator does one of these videos and you have a 7900 GRE or XT often times it's a powercolor hellhound. And I was really looking to purchase one for my build I'm currently putting together, however it seems like the hellhounds AND the red revils are sold out or nearly non existent unless you pay a completely unreasonable price for them. Do you know if they're going away or what the deal is with that??
I actually bought mine a $899 when they launched 2 years ago. I think because the 7900 XT models were initially priced at $899 - a really bad price, they didn't sell. As a result the board partners prioritized lower cost cooler models so they could reduce the price.
Can I hit 1% low into the 240 fps for CS2 1440p low settings using a 7500f for an 27" 240 hz oled monitor? If yes, what radeon/nvidia gpu would I need to archive this? 7700xt / 7800 xt is enough?
I love this channel! Lots of review channels out there, but this channel gives you recommendations for every price range and the recommendations are always solid. Not to mention Boost my build, which is a life saver for us pc freaks haha! 😂😂
I got 2 question 1: Is 750w enought for a 7800xt? 2: Do i have to download the bios update 1 by 1 to the newest one or just download the newest bios and done ?
750W might be enough depending on your CPU. See our Best PSU 2024 video for how to size your PSU. For motherboard bios updates, it is getting more rare that you have to step the bios, but it is still possible if you have an older board. See your motherboard support page and check the bios notes.
For reference I have a 4070ti super and a 7800x3d, using a 750w power supply fine. The 7800XT draws about 250W at load compared to the 4070ti super's 285w. If your CPU is power hungry might want to bump up the wattage just to stay in the safe range. It's very unlikely with any new motherboard you will have to update the bios 1 by 1. The latest should work fine. Most manufacturers make software that will update the drivers and bios for you.
Thanks for the help people. I have a r5 2600x, gtx 1660 super with a x570 aorus elite, 750w aorus psu gold. Want to upgrade to a r7 5700 or so and a 7800xt.
@@ahha2523 The 6800 for the extra VRAM alone. On top of that it is a more efficient card than the 7700XT. The only advantage the 7700XT has over it is the slightly better performance when it comes to Ray Tracing.
Do i buy a 4080 super or a 7900xtx? And when would be the best time in terms of getting it for the best possible prrice? New to pc so looking for some insight. Thank you
I'm unsure what to do right now. I have a 5900x, 3070 8GB, 32GB RAM setup, but I know I get very low 1% lows at higher settings in 1440p in single player games sometimes in the single digits, but for sure 30's. I'm actually disappointed in jumping on the hype at the 3070 launch after watching all your videos now. It seems like a GPU would be the most benefit to my setup, so I'm just waiting at the moment.
Building my first gaming pc on black Friday, gonna go for 7600x (or 7700x depends on price), 7800xt, 32gb Corsair vengeance 6000 cl30, msi b650 tomahawk wifi, and monitor MSI G274QPX 27 i think they all gonna hit nice discounts, gonna be happy with it 🤞👌
Sort of an interesting thing I just ran into that's a fringe build consideration - I'm still waiting for the case to arrive, but I'm building a half-new system to switch to AMD with the 9800X3D. I bought a gigabyte X870E aorus elite for my board. That board has 4 total M2 slots. I have two 2TB NVME drives. There's of course the main M2 slot, and there's no reason not to use that. HOWEVER, 2 of the additional 3 slots share PCIE lanes with the GPU, so if you install a drive in M2B or M2D*, your GPU drops down to PCIE 4x8 instead of 4x16. If you install your second M2 drive into M2C - which I believe connects to the chipset - your GPU remains at 4x16. Obviously this is kind of a narrow scenario, and going to 4x8 isn't a huge loss in real-world performance. But there is a loss! And it's the kind of weird finnicky consideration that's easy to miss, kind of like slotting both DIMMs into the slots closest to the CPU instead of enabling dual channel. So I dunno, if you ever refresh your basics of building videos, it might be something you'd want to give viewers a heads up to look for. *M2A, B, etc are of course just the names gigabyte gave the slots in their manual for the board, different manufacturers might label them differently.
The prices of RX 7700 XT and RTX 4060 Ti (16 gig) are similar where I live… planning to use the PC primarily for blender and 1440P gaming.. which one would you suggest buying?
@@PCBuilderChannelI won’t be able to get the 4070S unfortunately since it’s way above the budget.. does the 4060 Ti 16 gig variant perform reasonably well in 1440P gaming?
the only real way to upgrade from that is just next gen, the 7900 xtx and 4080s would be like at most a 20% increase and the 4090 would just be a waste of money
I got a killer deal on a used 7900 GRE on ebay for under $500 after tax and shipping. Excited to see the black Friday deals for all the other components out there though!
Hey Jason i know you are not a tech support channel but i would like some help. I bought a gigabyte 4070 super gaming oc in march and in april i, for some reason decided to install gcc and update the firmware to f1.1. Since then games looks very aliased and bad even with max anti aliasing, no res scaling and running at 4k. Do you have any ideas as to what this could be? I am at a loss so i would LOVE some help. Thanks for all you do. ( I have already tried resseting windows, flashing a new bios from techpowerup )
Hard to say with only a little info. First thing I recommend is to remove any PSU extension cables if you used any, and use the native cables that came with the PSU, and disconnect/reconnect all the power cables and reseat the GPU. I recommend you post a troubleshooting post in the "build a pc" reddit. Folks will work with you to help. Also, could open an RMA ticket with gigabyte (or just return the GPU if you are within the return window). Could be a hardware issue.
Unfortunately right now there isn't any. 13th and 14th Gen have issues and Intel Ultra CPUs aren't good price to performance. What AMD CPU I'd recommend with it depends on your budget and what you're using the PC for.

You realize these companies have been ripping us off ever since crypto mining was a thing?
Intel killed their arc series and these next generation will be the last one from intel.
is a 7800xt good futur proof?
I noticed many items on Amazon sneaking up a lot of their prices, probably so that they can lower them again for a Black Friday sale…..
Common practice. Or Amazon will just put up a sale number only based on original msrp to way over inflate the savings. Saw it with the 7800x3d when it dropped to 320. They showed massive discount number compared to msrp when it was only like $20 less than what it was a few weeks prior

What CPU are you using? I got my 9800X3D today (at MSRP thank god) and have to decide between an RTX 4070Ti Super or a 7900XT next week. I'll probably jump to the next generation cards once they come out anyway but still... 7900XT is winning quite a bit for me now
@@rickdubbink I have the 7800x3d. Considering the jump to the 9800x3d, but will probably wait until it has matured a little bit.
I went AMD, no regrets here. The money you save are insane.
If you can find a 6600xt for $100 would you get it
nvidia think they're Apple
Theyre more valuable
They are better actually.
@@Alexts-o8qno
They can, if people keep buying. By the way, Nvidia worth more than Apple now.
Good choices Rand!
Unfortunately the AI market isn't changing from CUDA anytime soon. AI just runs significantly better on CUDA. It's kinda a mess to run on anything else. Does it work? Sure, but it's not nearly as good. So for the time being, Nvidia will continue to be the chonky boy.
Just picked up a 7600x3d bundle from micro center. Now time to get a GPU
Please let me know what gpu you'll be using in future
I got a 7900 xt red devil version that went on sale for 660 recently and am planning on getting the 7600x3d bundle with it
Please get a monitor that makes use of the power. 1440p should be the new minimum with how absurd framerates are getting. Oled is becoming affordable and I can’t look back at IPS or VA anymore after 2 years on LG oled c2.
I still want to see a 7900 XTX at $700 but I'm not sure that will happen until this time next year, maybe. Thumbs up!
Yet it should cost 300 , any more than that and your just wasting money making them rich, they dont cost that much to make
@@JohnDoe-tv4zdyeah maybe like 100 bucks
As long as nothing disrupts the gpu market again you'll probably see that price as early as prime day next year.
I’d be stoked of it hit 780-800 this year that’s what I need

Ryzen 9800X3D looks pretty insane, though it is $479.
@@PCBuilderChannelYou’re not wrong about that! What a monster.

Odd with no word from AMD targeting non-Highend if that means 8000 RDNA4 will be similar to when Radeon Flagship was mid-range 5700XT.
Would be hard to imagine 8700XT giving 7900XT performance at below $600.
Personally it makes sense for 8000 RDNA4 flagship to match 7900 GRE and be price competitive.
(I think if 8000 series sticks with 12gb-16gb for both 60 and 70 class GPUs (if miminking 5600 &5700 era) that could be a smart move.)
They are promising better Ray-tracing performance with this upcoming generation.
@@PCBuilderChannel I sincerely hope AMD doesnt slow down production of the GRE to try to push more sales of the 7900XT and XTX. I plan to buy the card this fall.
7800xt seems the best deal
Yes if it gets back towards $400. I don't think anyone would regret picking it up at around that price even when RX 8000 comes out in 3-4 months.

Hey guys, any thoughts on 6750gre 10gb, is it good? Thinking of buying one
I’d go for the 7600 deal personally! I think that’s best price to performance paired with the 6800 and getting you into AM5
i want the rx 7900 gre, but i dont know if my board tuf gaming b450 with ryzen 7 5700x will run fine with that graphic card... i ve a rtx3060 right now, by the way.
I say if you can get a 5700x3d and the gre
I could probably afford to upgrade soon but no real need to unless I see a major price drop on a 7800 XT or 7900 GRE. My 3060 Ti is still going strong so no rush. I'll most likely keep what I have & upgrade sometime after the 8000 Series launches. Thanks again for sharing :)
I plan on building my first pc, if you want I can add the pc part picker list but should I buy during Black Friday deals or wait for prices to get cheaper after these new gens release?
Exciting! Well put out specific Black Friday build recommendation videos but in the meantime check out our Best Builds October video
@ Ok will do
Hey Jason, I have right now the RX 6700 XT nitro+ undervolting, I'm going to change my actual build (i7 8700 - Asus 370-P 3200Mhz 16b ram).
Either is a good pair! Check out our 7600X build guide on the channel for more if thats helpful. I'd use the same list there with the 7600 and 7500F
@PCBuilderChannel hi! Just for clarification, do the prices in the video include US taxes?
No because each US State has a different tax rate.
They don’t due to the states all having different amounts (including a couple lucky ones with no sales tax)
Desperately hoping to get a GRE in white at a strong discount. Failing that a 7800 XT in white. The 4070 Super would have to drop super far to tempt me. GRE supply here in Canada seems to be dwindling and getting anything in white is like a $40-50 CAD premium.
Id wait for next gen
When the tariffs hit, 😓
Yep. Waiting for 5070 to upgrade from my 3060
Scalpers waiting too.
4080 super hits 700 im pulling the trigger
You gonna sell everything you own?
I think I'll wait for next year's black friday😂
Hi, U have any videos for build new Gaming pc 2024
Looking for the absolute best matching GPU for a 5800X3d at 4K.
I would like to just drop it in and keep it for the life of the Pc. I game a lot, record game videos, create content and would like good ray-tracing.
I'm still using a RX580 from my last build and it's finally starting to show it's age.
Looking to just drop a new one in for the next ten years.
Depends on what your budget is but the 4070 Ti Super or 4080 Super would be good here. You could also go 7900XT or 7900XTX but it won't be as good for Ray Tracing and may not be as good for your Production Work.
@@kelley09162 Very cool, thank you
Great video very informative, I missed seeing your cats.
Haha yes! They were off doing other things this week. But check our 9800X3D build guide from earlier this week, lots of good cat action in that
What would you guys recommend for a gpu upgrade from a 1080? Like best bang for your buck?
7800XT if you can get it close to $400 by black friday
Depends on your current CPU and system. See our “how to upgrade your pc 2024” video for more
I bought a 4070 laptop on a flash sale from BestBuy for 899 and now it's back at 1399.... And I got the game bundle didn't even realize it was included..... Now that I've replaced my 10 year old laptop I'm ready to start building my gaming desktop.
Ain't 4070 laptop enough?
@@ishowmeatsui It's more than enough but I'm mainly gonna use my laptop for stuff when I'm away from home. Desktop graphics cards regularly more powerful than similar laptop graphics cards. My laptop specs minimum will be the 4070 ti super with the new 9800x3d cpu.

oh sry didn't know
I bought a refurbished reference 7900 XTX for $800 from Micro Center and it came with 40K: Space Marines II and Unknown 9: Awakening.
Oh darn
@ PC Builder What would you prefer to the same price: 6800 or 7700 XT?
6800 if just Gaming but 7700XT is also streaming with it.
The 7700XT has AV 1 encoding if that’s important to you
I recently built a new machine with a 7800x3d and a 4080 super, and couldn’t be happier with the performance, I really only use it for gaming so I’m glad that I didn’t wait for the 9800x3d, I’m just hoping I didn’t make the wrong decision getting my 4080 super instead of waiting for a 5080.
I think we're all going to be a little disappointed with the 5080 if the leaked specs are true. But we'll have to wait and see!
4080s is the one, you chose well.
I think you made the right choice. Realistically 5080 will only provide meaningful real life benefit if you’re dedicated to 4K gaming with max ray tracing. And it will likely be very difficult to get at launch. Beyond that your set up should you leave set for a long time.
Good choice on 4080 super but why the 7800x3d? 9800x3d literally only $30 more unless you got it on sale
@@bobjohnson6131I actually snatched a 7800x3d for under $400 right before 9800x3d announcement
@PCBuilderChannel yeah all I'm able to find right now from Powercolor is the Fighter.
Thanks so much for the great feedback! It really means a lot
That MSI Expert is so striking, probably the only GPU I would consider buying based on aesthetics. 😍
I got 2 question
1: Is 750w enought for a 7800xt?
Is the rx 6800 at 349 a good deal still or should I mo e up for a little more?
It’s good but if you can save up I would get the 7800xt
Would you get the 6800 or the 7700xt at similar price points
@@ahha2523 6800 is slightly faster
@@ahha2523 The 6800 for the extra VRAM alone. On top of that it is a more efficient card than the 7700XT. The only advantage the 7700XT has over it is the slightly better performance when it comes to Ray Tracing.
Fine choice if you don’t need AV 1 encoding
Just need my 7900xtx can’t wait to pick one up
Do i buy a 4080 super or a 7900xtx? And when would be the best time in terms of getting it for the best possible prrice? New to pc so looking for some insight. Thank you
7900XTX unless you care about Ray Tracing.
Also the Sapphire Pulse 7900XTX is currently $840.
@kelley09162 thank you for the information
@@its_me_sam9226I’d get the 7900xtx too, the asrock white model
Me personally 7900XTX, over Black Friday. But remember the next gen is coming so factor that in
I'm unsure what to do right now.
Building my first gaming pc on black Friday, gonna go for 7600x (or 7700x depends on price), 7800xt, 32gb Corsair vengeance 6000 cl30, msi b650 tomahawk wifi, and monitor MSI G274QPX 27 i think they all gonna hit nice discounts, gonna be happy with it 🤞👌
Sort of an interesting thing I just ran into that's a fringe build consideration -
I'm still waiting for the case to arrive, but I'm building a half-new system to switch to AMD with the 9800X3D.
Blender does do better with Nvidia but if you can get to a 4070 super id do that.
@@PCBuilderChannelI won’t be able to get the 4070S unfortunately since it’s way above the budget.. does the 4060 Ti 16 gig variant perform reasonably well in 1440P gaming?
@@vigneshvicky6782so the 7700XT is definitely better for Gaming but the 4060 Ti 16GB is definitely better for Blender.
Is it worth it to upgrade from my Amd rx 6700xt for an nvidia rtx 4070 super?
Depends on your CPU. See our How to upgrade your PC 2024 video for more
If i ever would want to upgrade from 7900xt what do you suggest to buy lets say after 6-12months.
Depends on your CPU! I’d only go higher than that if you’ve already maxed that out with like a 9800X3D or 7800X3D
@ i have 7800x3D sorry i forgot to mention it.
the only real way to upgrade from that is just next gen, the 7900 xtx and 4080s would be like at most a 20% increase and the 4090 would just be a waste of money
Im back after a few month break.... YOU GOT HAIR!!!
Many many months! Welcome back!!!!
Waiting for next gen personally.

I got a killer deal on a used 7900 GRE on ebay for under $500 after tax and shipping. Excited to see the black Friday deals for all the other components out there though!
Nice!!
What do you think of a used 3080ti 12gh for about 400?
That seems high to me for 12gb VRAM used
What would you recommend upgrading to for 1080p in the $200-$300 range?
6600, 6650XT, or 6750XT. 6750XT is the best option but it's at or a little above 300.
Depends on your CPU. See our “how to upgrade your pc 2024” video
i bought the 729$ msi 4070 ti super 16gb. What would be the best intel processor to pair with it, as well as some viable alternatives?
Unfortunately right now there isn't any.
13th and 14th Gen have issues and Intel Ultra CPUs aren't good price to performance.
What AMD CPU I'd recommend with it depends on your budget and what you're using the PC for.
@kelley09162 what about 12 Gen i9?
@@michaelgutierrez6743 that would be fine if you can find it for a good price.
