"deep loaded" was really "de-bloated" meaning bloatware was stripped out to leave as many resources as possible for benchmarking. Essentially, nothing unnecessary dragging down performance needed for crucial tasks. As an example, I recall that Windows Vista and Windows 7 use VRAM for the "Aero" blur effect so if you switched to a basic Windows theme you would reclaim that VRAM for other tasks. I don't think it was a *lot* of VRAM, but in some cases every little bit helps.

@@BG-iu1mv Negligible differences. In these tests the EVGA benched higher but the margin is so slim that the silicone lottery likely plays a larger part than manufacturer. - Gigabyte is... worrying though.

@Browsing Da Webs At least Sony made it 4 hours before their pre-orders were all sold out ...... Well at least Nvidia won't make the costs of games go up 10 bucks so there is that over Sony ......
You've earned my subscription at the very least, holy crap you are a hard worker. I spent a lot of time in the IT trenches pulling all-nighters fixing stuff that had no business being fixed just to help customers out. You seem to care about your work and are passionate about doing it right. Bravo!
FYI GN team: UA-cams autoplay brings me back to this video AFTER EVERY GN VIDEO I WATCH. So if your stats for this video show like a million people watching for a few seconds and then leaving that is likely why. I've watched it through at least twice.
Thanks for the case recommendation. I ended up going with the Lian Li O11 XL. I want to work toward full open loop liquid cooling and it will be a great option for that when I am ready, and still great for my closed loop setup now I think.
He can take his time now since there obviously isn't any rush to get them out there ....... I feel sorry for all these reviewers who lost a lot of sleep the past week for essentially no reason what so ever ..... I guess actually having a 3080 is a consolation prize .....
LOL! That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. Nice collection of 3080's you got there Steve. Wanting to spend $700+ on a single component has never made me feel like such a peasant.
50:55 Viewers were wondering why this baseline overclock was only 3.8%. GPU Boost 3.0 already boosts clock speed from 1700 to 1900mhz, so of course overclocking will only deliver small results.
@Future President while youre "investigating" ebay etc...dont forget to drop a few fake bids on the scalpers you say dont exist ;-) Can't be promoting that kind of behaviour ...
@NRIII Games Etc. Dont know what your peoples problems are...even my local store had 2 of them still on shelves when I walked in. And they dont really sell a lot of PC components.
Must make these cherry picked cards look their best so the consumer will buy same card only with the lower binned chip that will not OC as well through retail.
@@billwiley7216 but the difference between the FTW ICX BBQ WTF edition and the Eagle OC (one of the $700) models isn't all that much. Maybe a few frames, at best. All for like $110 difference. Even the cheapest MSRP models seem to have good cooling solutions this time around. They're just power limited in the BIOS. But they seem to be just fine.
That’s probably when it will be back in stock so good timing. Nice to see all the youtubers got all the nation’s stock of cards though because there certainly weren’t any for sale this morning that were actually available for us plebes. Today’s launch was a paper launch shitshow.
@@seeibe how so? They're just doing their job. It isn't their fault ass wipes buy all kinds of stalk and leave nothing for the average gamer. If anything Nvidia is to blame if they don't set a limit per customer in the future batches.
@@Swoleworm nvidia purposefully created an overhyped release with such low supply that almost nobody can get a card. They want good reviews and high demand for these cards that nobody can get, to defeat AMD in the marketing game. A disgruntled nvidia employee leaked this information a few days ago, as outlined in this video: ua-cam.com/video/SxtfNcm45xk/v-deo.html
I could use one of those 3080s, just started building my new PC so my wife and I can finally play games together after 2 years of waiting. Looks like I'm waiting another 3 months at least. All my other PC components sitting in a corner collecting dust. Freaking NVIDIA/Ebay/Scalpers. Such BS.
If component prices werent so high at the moment I'd say throw an RX 580 in it just to use it but the only used GPUs that aren't overpriced right now are 2080 tis lol
Almost the same. I built my first PC from the last 15 years and have been waiting 1 month already for a good video card for VR. Was going to get a 2080Ti, but couldn't spend that kind of money last month. Then learned they were discontinued, so I waited. Now I wait longer while everything I own depreciates before I can use it.
@@jesh879 Just ruins my plans. I've taken a week of PTO first week of October, so my wife and I can have a week of playing games.... I need a vacation!!!
3080 instantly unobtainium ...didn't really expect anything else...card prices are rising at genuine e-tailers already and on eBay for £1000++ ... Don't buy the cards from eBay you're just feeding the sharks... maybe we now have to wait for rtx4080 to upgrade our Pascal cards ......or big navi (if the drivers work)...AHH well life goes on.
LOL this wasn’t a one time stock... why would you have to wait for a new generarion? People are so dramatic, there will be plenty of stock soon enough, probably mid october.
Take a look at his recent video regarding restocking. If you really feel like you gotta wait a whole new generation to upgrade and 3080 will never be in stock and your weekend is basically ruined, you need to rethink your values dude. It's just a card, cards will come. Give it time. Especially now during quarantine, it's gonna take longer to stock up. So quick crying like a bitch and be patient. You'll get your card soon. Unless you don't really need it and you're happy with Pascal, then why comment?
Same here, in the US if you go on Amazon and search rtx 3080 nothing even comes up. You have to Google search rtx 3080 Amazon to get to the landing page.
Sometimes the lack of rational (or any critical) thinking REALLY boggles my mind. Even in this audience which I would have assumed were more clued up than that... To say it's in "poor taste" to review a card you couldn't get is like saying it's in poor taste to review a Mclaren P1 because most people can't afford to buy one. The review will always be relevant so when people CAN get the cards, the review will be very useful. Now you might ask "Why not just wait until everyone can get one before you do these things?" There are 2 reasons. 1. Attention span of the audience - If you wait, by the time you make the content, something newer might have come out and you'll get people talking about "Old news" and "Nobody cares" or "Where is my Big Navi content!?". You can't have it both ways, being upset just because you can't have something is very petulant. 2. Competition - If you wait, your competitors will not wait (other tech reviewers, might not be explicit competition but they all occupy the same space) and you WILL lose out on business which when avoidable is crazy to do. Most people will obviously understand this but the same sentiments keep cropping up with these cards and the PS5 and it's just so asinine. Scalping idiots will always exist, blame the manufacturers for not making it harder to scalp, not the reviewers for doing their jobs.
I swear AIB partners should hire designers for their cards. Honestly most of them looks terribad. The Strix actually looks the best, and I still don't like how it looks.
Yeah it's like they didn't get the memo when Nvidia decided to go from the angled design to the clean look of the FE cards. They clearly just thought "gamers" and made their typical overly aggressive sharp angles.
I'm 60% sure the tanks I've seen have a small switch on one of the pipes that can be turned 90 degrees to the pipe or in line with the pipe to control a valve. in one setting the tank will climb to that ~220psi threshold and then make the loud off-gassing noise. in the other setting the tank slowly releases pressure instead (out of the pipe with this small switch; closing the valve leaves that pressure to build for the 230psi blowoff valve)
1:08:08 When you said "I don't know what to do with this liquid nitrogen now.." it reminded me of your stream when someone asked, "Can you drink it?" And you said, "Once!" lol
Pretty new here. Had no idea you were in NC. That's awesome and I really appreciate the level of detail you provide. This video alone will allow me to make a better purchasing decision. Plan on waiting to see what the new AMD Ryzen line looks like and maybe big navi can compete.
The Ampere cards look like AMD made them in the GCN era: Lots of computing performance but not utilized fully, out of the box maxed out as far as they go, pushed the performance as high as they can even with increased power consumption, almost zero OC potential. Meanwhile AMD is removing the unnecessary things from their gaming cards anf going with a more lightweight architecture. The two companies kinda swapped their approach. I'm more and more interested in big Navi, because NV seemed to push their cards to the absolute limit even sacrificing power consumption to get the last few % performance off for some reason...and i think that reason is they know Navi will be good. Ampere is NV's GCN, and Navi can be AMD's Maxwell. TBH i think people rushing to get a 3080 day 1 are stupid. It is on my shopping list but i will wait for Navi because the more we see from Ampere the more it gets obvious something is brewing on the GPU market.
@@Malibutomi I reckon a liquid cooled, fully unlocked 3080 could trade blows with a stock 3090 Thats why I think NVIDIA is limiting power and locking voltage control
@@Icenfyre Leaks are already out. It is 10-15% faster than a 3080 "LMAO" Anyone with a brain could see that logically. It has 20% more SP than the 3080 hence it could have been 20% faster if the performance would scale 100% with SP numbers...but it never scales 100%.
From now on September 17 will be known as Black Thursday ...... Why wait until the end of November to be disappointed when you can be disappointed in mid-September?
3:19:00 I think he was talking about bots buying up anything that wasn't in a brick and mortar store and those stores only carrying partner cards and a very very limited number of them.

Yikes the amount of people in this comment section that havent watched the 3080 supply problems video by GamersNexus is disappointing. It wasnt a paper launch, the hype was too high, they have only been in production since Aug (if working in a factory and watching a launch of car parts (not the same ik) showed me anything 1 month is not enough time), etc etc please go watch it.

Six years ago Gamer’s Nexus, helped me out when I was building my first PC. Now I’ve been glued to this channel again since I’m upgrading soon. Thanks for all the work you guys are (and will be) putting in during this launch cycle.
Totally commend you on your dedication in doing all the work you do. Unfortunately what people don't see is the many hours outside of the streamed content that you would be putting into what you do , I personally love watching your streams and I was impressed with the dedication, time and effort you put into the Newegg drama.. well done and I totally agree with you that if Amazon has a decent competitor they will keep each other honest hopefully... Here in Australia Amazon is way too expensive and I can get gear a lot cheaper from Umart and a local store Computer Alliance that usually have some great deals with a coupon 10% discount and free shipping which also includes any other items you purchased at the time.
This is not meant as an insult cause as always this is a good quality video but at this point you're making guides only for you, other reviewers and the other 100 people worldwide that got an RTX 3080.
Alexandru Carpusor what’s your point? You expect him to wait till everyone in the world has a card to post? In a few months videos like this will be helpful to most people. This will also help people make their buying decisions before buying the card.
That gigabyte eagle looks like the only card of the 3 that actually took the flow through design seriously. The other 2 seem like they did it as a small afterthought. The eagle looks like they just said "Fine nVidia. We'll cut a big ass hole in it"!
We are working on a stream recap!
Okay, thanks!
thanks! missed the stream being an eu viewer

Fck danm my guy
"deep loaded" was really "de-bloated" meaning bloatware was stripped out to leave as many resources as possible for benchmarking. Essentially, nothing unnecessary dragging down performance needed for crucial tasks.
As an example, I recall that Windows Vista and Windows 7 use VRAM for the "Aero" blur effect so if you switched to a basic Windows theme you would reclaim that VRAM for other tasks. I don't think it was a *lot* of VRAM, but in some cases every little bit helps.

I missed this LIVE but watching it now!
"ordered"/"preordered" the aorus xtreme. I will probably have to wait a for a while to get it
Where did you do this from?
I clicked on the video to tell you guys how much I enjoyed the video's thumbnail, really nice guys, would click again.
@@jameswatkins6875 thanks
That shop is so freaking beautiful
Actually amazon has never stocked 3080s Im sure about that
Same here, in the US if you go on Amazon and search rtx 3080 nothing even comes up.
You have to Google search rtx 3080 Amazon to get to the landing page.
1 million subs ! congratulations.... I brought the polygon Tshirt, and get noticed by geeks all the time ... Thx
Now you might ask "Why not just wait until everyone can get one before you do these things?"
There are 2 reasons.
The Port Royal record is 13488 held by a 3080 running at 2350Mhz.
I swear AIB partners should hire designers for their cards. Honestly most of them looks terribad. The Strix actually looks the best, and I still don't like how it looks.
It looks the least bad
Yeah it's like they didn't get the memo when Nvidia decided to go from the angled design to the clean look of the FE cards. They clearly just thought "gamers" and made their typical overly aggressive sharp angles.
Rude.
NNN pre failed due to know knowing I won’t have a 3080 till next year due to car payment.
1:08:08 When you said "I don't know what to do with this liquid nitrogen now.." it reminded me of your stream when someone asked, "Can you drink it?" And you said, "Once!" lol
So this is where all the 3080's went.
It's amazing how this is perpetually live!
Pretty new here. Had no idea you were in NC. That's awesome and I really appreciate the level of detail you provide. This video alone will allow me to make a better purchasing decision. Plan on waiting to see what the new AMD Ryzen line looks like and maybe big navi can compete.
Does anyone have any timestamps?
3.3h insane.
The FTW3 benchmarking starts around 55mins.
Tldr?
0:00 the start
3:34:33 the end
@@adamnizami8770 thanks, not all heroes wear capes
so much enthusiasm in steve's face in the thumbnail
That's why we can't buy 3080 cards, steve has all of them :o
Yes we can hear you Steve
Came here to see how does one overclock a unicorn…?
easy, be a sucessful youtuber
you stuff a rhino up its ass
More respect for Steve in that he didn't take any college courses.
The Ampere cards look like AMD made them in the GCN era:
Lots of computing performance but not utilized fully, out of the box maxed out as far as they go, pushed the performance as high as they can even with increased power consumption, almost zero OC potential.
AMD fan alert. the 3080 is not impressive tho. 3090 will be my buy
@@Icenfyre An overpriced card with 15% more performance than the 3080?
@@Malibutomi I reckon a liquid cooled, fully unlocked 3080 could trade blows with a stock 3090
Thats why I think NVIDIA is limiting power and locking voltage control
15%? sure lmao wait for the benchmarks
@@Icenfyre Leaks are already out. It is 10-15% faster than a 3080 "LMAO"
Anyone with a brain could see that logically. It has 20% more SP than the 3080 hence it could have been 20% faster if the performance would scale 100% with SP numbers...but it never scales 100%.
Props to the camera man, he stood there for 3 hours!!
My local computer store received 1 rtx 3080 for launch.....1. Wtf
From now on September 17 will be known as Black Thursday ......
Why wait until the end of November to be disappointed when you can be disappointed in mid-September?
In the city where I live (200.000) citizens ..not one single store had one (Germany)
The employees got the rest.
I think someone said that this is nvidias plan to drive prices up.
I really hope nobody pays any extra of these cards
@Binod Tharu, Don't say that you are that Binod😂😂
very cool channel, glad i found you!
Steve is naturlly so likeable and entertaning!!
I think he would be a perfect streamer though he seems a bit uncomfortable being live.
@1:52:00 - Everything's normal. Nothing to see here. lol
lol if that was linus the stream would have to end due to a 3080 dropping head first into the test bench xd
3:19:00 I think he was talking about bots buying up anything that wasn't in a brick and mortar store and those stores only carrying partner cards and a very very limited number of them.
So when you start having a high pitched laugh it will be because of the nitrogen leak from the tank at the back?
Atmosphere is 70% N2 breathing N2 wouldn't modify your pitch as its density is effectively the same.
You're thinking of helium.
@@GamersNexus, True. Was thinking of nitrous oxide also called laughing gas. Great presentation.
"A good way to check is fire..."
Me: "Oh, which brand is that?"
**blowtorch noises**
Me: "Ah..."
$1200-5000 on ebay. LMFAO. No thank you. Ill grab one next year
They dont even have the cards, delivery in over a month so .... Dont know if isnt against Ebays policy to sell some thing you dont own yet.
lol yep... the liquid nitrogen tank scared the hell out of me too. I have headphones on and turned up pretty loud, I thought something happened to the card, haha...
bro steve is so hot
Yikes the amount of people in this comment section that havent watched the 3080 supply problems video by GamersNexus is disappointing. It wasnt a paper launch, the hype was too high, they have only been in production since Aug (if working in a factory and watching a launch of car parts (not the same ik) showed me anything 1 month is not enough time), etc etc please go watch it.
Not much point in overclocking video's when Nvidia stages a big launch and has less than 1000 cards available!
There were thousands of cards available.
@@GamersNexus I know, you can see them on eBay.
@@GamersNexus REALLY? 2 cards in Vancouver Canada, 2 cards in Edmonton Alberta, Nothing in Saskatchewan, 32 Cards in Toronto and on and on so where are the Thousands? by my count there were less than 200 cards available in Canada
Stumbled back across this ten months later. The stock for the 30-series is still a meme lmao
Always has been.
Who cares how they overclock when you can't get them
Why so salty.
Ofc you wont get one in the first few weeks. Just like with any majorly hyped launch of hardware.
Great stream GN, cool to see this kind of content about new products
F the mod that timed me out. Lol
Great video in depth about RTX 3080 video card.
Can i have one of the 3080s I will give you $700 for it
Bruh I got the gigabye one and had to pay 850$ for it retail, nice lowball lol
It’s a bummer Sapphire only makes Radeon cards. I’d LOVE a Sapphire Nitro+ 3080. Looks soooo much better than any of the nvidia AIBs.
First?
Yep
Somehow, yes
I'm finally whole. I couldn't have done it without you guys. Thanks everyone for the support.
I never click on these videos but I always wake up to these videos, 🧐
It is 350 PSI relief valve and yes it will scare the bejesus out of you when it goes off. I used to fill them at Airgas 25 years ago in my mid 20's.
there is NOTHING i want to watch more than this video. ever.
➡️Entry level for 1080p: rtx 3050. ➡️Premium level for maximum 1080p performance: the rx 6600xt or (rtx 3060 slightly lower in performance)
Send one of those to England to that mad lad who loves attaching caps everywhere.
1:04:50 did he say... Unlimited... Power???? *insert that quick smile on the Emperor’s face just before he blasts Mace Windu and screams “UNLimited POWER!!!!”
Six years ago Gamer’s Nexus, helped me out when I was building my first PC. Now I’ve been glued to this channel again since I’m upgrading soon. Thanks for all the work you guys are (and will be) putting in during this launch cycle.
The EVGA FTW3 looks like you left it out in your car on a very hot day and the plastic shroud warped.
Just saw your video. Day you still have nitrogen discharging in a room? Please install them so that they discharge outdoors.
We are coming for you Jacob!!! You are famous now!
Must be super early/late over there. It's 0632 here in Germany. Love your videos!🤟
I'm a coder. But i still believe it's more convenient to pull out a coin and flip it instead of typing random([0,1])
Awww man missed this cos sleep and work lol will catch up on this full thing
Should one wait a year or so for the entry level GTX cards for this series or buy cards like 1650 super or 1660 if one gets good discounts?
Quick! Let's rush the studio and wrest those cards out of Steve's hands!!! hahahaha!
To the person at 1:37:30 so yes there was a 3090ti eventually, no there is no 32GB of VRAM in it.
Holy Moly - GN 1 Mil subs - while I was sleeping!
Lol at the thud that massive Gigabyte card made when he stood it on end at the beginning of the video. T-Rex from Jurassic park 😂
That gigabyte eagle looks like the only card of the 3 that actually took the flow through design seriously. The other 2 seem like they did it as a small afterthought. The eagle looks like they just said "Fine nVidia. We'll cut a big ass hole in it"!
glad i'm not the only one that liked the cute cat video card.
