@@nxm3162 you do realise AMD chips actually run hotter right due to the l3 cache? Thats why they have lower clock speeds and they still need decent cooling. You literally bought the worst cpu for productivity 😂 my i7 temps are pretty good for gaming and so is power consumption. Yes i would have been slightly better off with the 7800x3d for gaming but nothing noticable as they are both more than good enough. However for productivity, the i7 is night and day better than the 7800x3d, like 70 to 80% faster which is why I chose it. There is no perfect cpu, they all have pros and cons depending on what you do or play.
Question: I currently have a Ryzen 7900X with a 4080 super, and have been preferring to run on a 1440 monitor for higher fps. I'm looking to either get an OLED or something with HDR. Everything that is good in 1440 is too small for what I want. Am I going to lose out on performance if I get a 4k monitor or do I have enough horsepower to make it happen? I'm not afraid to use scaling.
@hollowsibling3831 perfect, thanks. Actually I was actually searching for it days back and after taking everyone's opinion I came to 7600x as my choice Btw can you recommend a good motherboard to pair with it? Also a good budget 1440p 27inch monitor
same here! im also rocking the 8700k but with an rtx 2070. still serving me well but i am starting to notice some signs of aging. im thinking about building a new pc with a 7700x and 4070ti super
I went with the Ryzen 9 7900x3d and a 4080 Super for my first pc build. I went with the 7900x3d over the 7800x3d for three reasons, 1. I also plan on doing quite a bit of video editing for content creation, 2. I didn't want a cookie cutter build, and 3. I got it for $ 300.
Hello. I have the 240hz, 4k Neo G8 and believe I need to upgrade my 6750 xt to 7900 xt or 7900 xtx. Do you think AMD is matching these cards with the 8000 series? I've heard they have issues for being first generation.
Have a question, I am running a ryzen 5950x with AMD Radeon Sapphire Nitro Plus 7900XT with 64GB of Ram, if I was to upgrade to DDR5, would I see much of an improvement?
Yes, you'd see a good bit of performance gain if you went am5, any of the x3d chips and ddr5 6000mt+. The x3d chips out perform the 5950x in pure gaming tasks on am4, more so on am5.
I built my first one this summer and went with the ryzen 7 7700x and 7900xt. But im swapping my cpu with a 9900x which I found for a really good price. My 7700x is going to my nephew for his first pc build which his dad is going to build for him.
Very odd question, I currently have a 1080ti build from 2017 I was going to upgrade my CPU to play some more titles that need the upgraded cpu, any recommendations? Should I just sell the rig and restart?
Still on my AM4 system, my 5700x3D pairs nicely with my 4080 FE at 1440p. Got great deals on both ($155 for the CPU & an even $1k for the GPU, I love back-to-school tax-free weekends).

7 7800x3D 4070tiS is perfect, Im building this right now. paying 250usd extra for 4080S to get an extra 10fps avg in most games doesn't make sense unless money isn't an issue. Using the 7 7800x3D over anything other processor like the intel i7 14th gen will give you 5fps more on avg and sometimes 20 fps more in certain games. They keep saying intel is better for productivity but how unproductive can you really be for a 400 dollar Ryzen CPU?
That is a pretty good combo and should work perfectly. The reason you don't see it is because people either get the 7 7800x3d for better gaming performance or the 9 7950x3d for a similar 7800x3d gaming performance with better workstation performance. 7900x3d sits in the middle. That's not to say that it's bad on the contrary but if you want only care about gaming you get the 7800x3d and if you want better apps performance and have a 50 to 70 dollars to spare go with the 7950x3d. Other than that you should be good to go with the previous combo

5800x3d with 7900xt… upgraded monitor from VA 165Hz panel to LG C4 42”. Worth considering moving to AM5 system? Big cost with many components. Would it be vastly noticeable?
A 2080 super and a 5800x 3d is probably even more than what most people need. You certainly don’t need to be on a DDR5 platform to get excellent 2k performance.
You don't but if you buy into am4 on a new build, you will not be able to upgrade at all. You'll have to buy all new. I am already on AM4 and can't decide between going 5800x3d or upgrading to am5
As someone who is also on AM4 and deciding whether to upgrade to a 5800x3d or AM5 Id say the choice is more up to budget since you have to dump more into new cpu, mobo, and ram
@@walterwoods8978 If I´d build new I´d go for 7500f, buy better components instead and leave the upgrade open for CPU later, like 2+ years dependent on what cpu you got, like I got a 5600x, thinking about upgrading to 5700x3d but I guess it´s better to wait and go for upgrading to another platform instead or investing in a higher tier GPU

Your video reminds me of a UA-cam content creator named Daisy whose first "gaming build" had an i9-14900K with an RX 580 2048SP. All of the simps following her praised her build while I told her that it was utter trash and that she was either an idiot or had very bad advice.

7600 will do 360 FPS in those games just fine, no need to upgrade the CPU. Honestly with FreeSync I personally wouldn't be too fussed about maxing out 360 Hz either. From 7700 XT it only really makes sense to upgrade to a high end GPU, and since we're close to the launch of RTX 5000 series I'd wait for that. Your current GPU should still get you really high framerates until 5070 launches even if it won't do quite 360 in all of them.

Which Nvidia 4000 or 5000 Series GPU would you recommend upgrading to for the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X CPU w/o a bottleneck? I'm currently using this CPU with the Nvidia RTX 3070 for Ai. I was considering the RTX 5070, but appears premature at this point.
I have an older PC with a TUF 3080 10GB and 5800x... really torn between upgrading or not. With 32GB RAM, I think there is some 'balance'. Not sure how it will hold up when I upgrade to MSFS24 tho..?
My combo wasn't mentioned but I don't think it's bad at all. I have an EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming 10G (so it's one of the higher end 10G models produced) and a 5600X. I wanted to know if it's well balanced or if one component could use an upgrade to match the other. I was thinking the CPU could use an upgrade to match the card but I'm not positive on that. I'm also not sure if the 7800X3D is too much for the 3080 that I have, and if it's not then would the 7800X3D work on the same motherboard as the 5600X or would I need a different (more recent motherboard). I would really, really appreciate insight on this, and thanks in advance for any replies!
I'm in the position now where my CPU is very old, Intel i7-8700k, but I upgraded my GPU a while back to a GeForce RTX 3080 10GB and committed to a 4k screen because I also have a PS5 connected. Any recommendations on a CPU upgrade? I will be replacing the Motherboard and RAM at the same time. Is the 7800X3D a good pairing, or over kill for the previous gen card? I mainly play graphics intensive games, Cyberpunk 2077 for example, and will be putting a lot of time into Dragon Age: The Veilguard when it comes out. Having said that, I also play World of Warcraft, and it's killing my CPU. 😅
It's a good combo although i would actually downgrade to a ryzen 5 7600x or 7600 if you intend to mostly play games (i assume at 1440p/wqhd) because while the 7700x isn't bad it isn't really worth a 70-100 price increase since besides 2 more cores it almost has the same performance in games (most games aren't made to use multiple cores effectively so having more cores doesn't matter much for gaming). If you plan to also use your pc for productive tasks then the 7700x is good

Man is Coping Hard, Intel is a headache right now.
Ryzen 5 7600x and rx 7800 xt affordable and very good combo
I have RTX 3080Ti what AMD cpu should I pair it with to face no bottlenecking (I don't want Intel as the recent Issues with it)
Depends on the games and resolution. At 1440p in cpu heavy games i would go ryzen 5 7600x or 7600 for am5. For am4 i would go 5700x3d or 5800x
@hollowsibling3831 perfect, thanks.
Actually I was actually searching for it days back and after taking everyone's opinion I came to 7600x as my choice
Btw can you recommend a good motherboard to pair with it?

You think a Radeon 6800 could work Great with a i5-12400f?
yup
my rx 6800 is being held back quite a bit by the ryzen 5600 which is the equivalent to the 12400f
can you suggest a good cpu for 4080 super instead of 7800x3d, I don't have the budget for that
@joeyazzata2897 a bit of work aa well, probably I'll be fine with r7 7700
In 4k you can go am4 even though I do not suggest it and get the 5800x3d or you can get the 7700x which is also a decent combo with the 4080.
I’m currently looking at the 7800X3D (pure GAMING PC). Either 4070 Super TI or 7800 XT. Thoughts?
both is fine. consider the 7900 gre too
I went with the Ryzen 9 7900x3d and a 4080 Super for my first pc build. I went with the 7900x3d over the 7800x3d for three reasons, 1. I also plan on doing quite a bit of video editing for content creation, 2. I didn't want a cookie cutter build, and 3. I got it for $ 300.

Did my first ever build back in May and went with a 7800X3D and 4070 Ti Super for 1440 gaming. The thing is a beast!
im looking into this, what games you play? any AAA titles?
COD, Arma, and Starfield mostly.
Also budget isn’t a big deal I just kinnda love my 1080ti and don’t wanna upgrade it, so if I could what would I need/ recommend for high end

A 2080 super and a 5800x 3d is probably even more than what most people need. You certainly don’t need to be on a DDR5 platform to get excellent 2k performance.
