I have a dual PC set up for streaming and gaming. The older stream and production PC that use to do the games to has a Ryzen 7 3700x and a GTX 1660 Ti with 16gb ram, and the newer gaming dedicated PC has a Ryzen 5600x and a RTX 4060 with 32gb ram. I love them both.
I built my pc a couple of years ago so take it with a grain of salt because other parts have come out etc. I went with the Ryzen 7 5700x and the gigabyte vision 3060ti oc Neither are absolutely amazing parts but they pair really well together and can also handle a decent amount of over clocking. I play mostly open world RPG games that aren’t too load intensive games. I also saved a pretty penny going for a 3060ti over a 3080 or 3090. I use my pc for writing and playing games, so I chose my GPU and CPU for my specific needs.

A 2080 super and a 5800x 3d is probably even more than what most people need. You certainly don’t need to be on a DDR5 platform to get excellent 2k performance.
You don't but if you buy into am4 on a new build, you will not be able to upgrade at all. You'll have to buy all new. I am already on AM4 and can't decide between going 5800x3d or upgrading to am5
As someone who is also on AM4 and deciding whether to upgrade to a 5800x3d or AM5 Id say the choice is more up to budget since you have to dump more into new cpu, mobo, and ram
@@walterwoods8978 If I´d build new I´d go for 7500f, buy better components instead and leave the upgrade open for CPU later, like 2+ years dependent on what cpu you got, like I got a 5600x, thinking about upgrading to 5700x3d but I guess it´s better to wait and go for upgrading to another platform instead or investing in a higher tier GPU

Your video reminds me of a UA-cam content creator named Daisy whose first "gaming build" had an i9-14900K with an RX 580 2048SP. All of the simps following her praised her build while I told her that it was utter trash and that she was either an idiot or had very bad advice.
Fascinating info - I'm learning more with each video. My sole "gaming" is Microsoft Flight sim 2020, with MSFS2024 coming on November 19, 2024 with all new confusing and conflicting PC demands far exceeding my current "Recommended level" desktop. I would really enjoy seeing your take on 'Recommended level' under $1000 USD PC builds I should be considering, as even we retired geezers do love our flight sims and do have the mechanical skills to assemble said devices.
Am4 is actually a great platform for entry level to upper mid level with the 5800x3d and 5700x3d. I've got a 5700x3d paired with an Rx 6800 and 32GB CL18 3600 GSkill ripjaw ram. My weak spot is the b450 class motherboard, however since most games can't make full use of Gen 4 nvme let alone gen 5 it's not really a big deal.
The thing is everybody suggests the 7800X3D because it still out performs the newer 7900’s versions because of the L3 Cache if you build a high end with a 4070 ti super to a 4090. The newer Ryzen’s have more cores but are built for more productivity and tasks rather than games.
I just built a pc with B650E Taichi...7800x3d..4070ti super...2tb 990 pro...1000 watt Seasonic..Asus tuff 360 aio and a Montech pro case and i love it.
Classic example of going overboard on non vital parts, just to skimp on the most important part of all. You could have gotten a 4080 Super and double the storage for the same cost.
@@Cynnister-vy5tl if you only do gaming you can invest that 50$ in the GPU. No need for the 2 extra cores and the increase in performance is negligable.
Honestly, it'd be better to wait for the 9800X3D, Core Ultra 7 265K, 8800 XT, and 5070 for $2000+ builds. But if you're building a PC under $2000, 100% go for current-gen products because it'll be over a year before we get stuff like the RTX 5060.
it's also about your budget. Mine is $2k (cad) for 1440p gaming,I saw a Bestbuy deal on Lenovo Legion with 4070 TISuper with i9 14900kf for $2.1k (cad). I know there's some horror stories about 13th and 14th gen Intel CPUs right now, but this deal's too good to pass up.

Best cpu/GPU combo that you’d recommend right now for a content creator/streamer. (Serious, almost full time). Special needs. Need to encode 2 separate streams. While gaming/recording. 4090 is out of the question price wise. My thoughts were either the 7950x3d with 4080 or the i912900k with 4080….but I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Question from me - do I build a 4080 Super 7800X3D rig now, or do I wait until the new AMD 9xxxX3D and Nvidia 5000 cards come out in (possibly) early next year?
Just upgraded my cpu and gpu from a Ryzen 5 3600 and a rx6800 to a Ryzen 7 5700 and a rx7800xt, having a great time. Needed a new case though, the Asus Tuf Gaming rx7800xt is way bigger than I expected lol.
Over spending on your CPU is not necessarily a bad thing though as it allows you to future proof yourself a bit so you're not having to replace your entire platform the next time you upgrade your GPU.

understanding how to control a CPU bottleneck is necessary no matter how good your CPU is, bc if there is a CPU bottleneck it ruins everything to a horrible degree. Knowing this you have to set things up so that the GPU is the only bottleneck. And that's why stuff like mouse polling rate too high can ruin the experience or fluctuating fps as well, so you put a limiter to the lowest fps you get so it stays constant, and run with vsync as long as the constant fps is atleast half or more of your refresh rate cause below half it will look bad. edit: with this tactic you can get any game to run great on any cpu bottleneck as long as the gpu is beefy. that's why i can have perfect performance after adjusting some settings while using a i7 6700k paired with a 7900xt. It's not about the size it's about how you use it.

Me too originally...but i think about build a cheaper version with 7600x and 7800XT. Fps or gaming diference is not that big as i think compare to your build
Built my new PC at the start of the year with an i5 12600k and an AMD 7800xt. Been an awesome combo for me. 7800xt is probably the best bang for buck rn
I went with a Ryzen 7 7800x3d and a 4080 super
and how is it? what games have you played?
@@swifet2494 The only new game I've played is Black Myth Wukong as it came free with the GPU and that runs very nicely on ultra with raytracing etc.
How much did you pay for the entire pc?
@@swifet2494 Its amazing I play everything in 4k with that exact combo. Got benchmarks on my channel, I payed 2077 and got a ryzen 7 7800x3d and 4080 super. That was 4 months ago and the price of the ryzen 7 7800x3d did go up 100 dollars so add that to it for todays price.
Have the same, it can run everything (esp. with Frame Generation). Sucks I only use it mostly on UA-cam though.
I’ve got my 7800X3D and 4090FE on a full custom loop, built it about a year ago, and it’s been flawless at 3440x1440 oled monitor.
Just built a pc with 7500f and 6800xt for $870 couldn’t be happier
Very nice combo
Wow what a deal
I have the same cpu, but I went with the 7800xt. I couldn't find the 6800xt for a good enough deal back in July.
@@deebocj I think 7600 cpu would have been better with that haha
870!! Thats too much I would say, I combined my 6800xt with a ryzen 5800x and they both cost me 580 euros.
Did my first ever build back in May and went with a 7800X3D and 4070 Ti Super for 1440 gaming. The thing is a beast!
im looking into this, what games you play? any AAA titles?
COD, Arma, and Starfield mostly.
Well it all depends what you’re looking for as well.
5800x3d and 4090 founders

If I play 1080p max settings rtx on I get 130fps average.
No where near my monitors refresh.
Your advice is good for most but not for competitive players imo
Comp players need a 7800x3d with a 4070 running low settings in wz and Fortnite.
Don’t hate me for saying this I love your channel 😊
why would you use a 1080p monitor with a 4090? what a waste of

for high fps shooter games
I think any of 13 series will be great
I built my pc a couple of years ago so take it with a grain of salt because other parts have come out etc.
I went with the Ryzen 7 5700x and the gigabyte vision 3060ti oc
Neither are absolutely amazing parts but they pair really well together and can also handle a decent amount of over clocking. I play mostly open world RPG games that aren’t too load intensive games. I also saved a pretty penny going for a 3060ti over a 3080 or 3090. I use my pc for writing and playing games, so I chose my GPU and CPU for my specific needs.
The best gpu&cpu combo is ryzen 4070
7800x3D + RTX 4090 in the Corsair C-70 Bomb crate case, the only way to drive in VR! Cyberpunk looks absolutely delicious on the 65' LG g-sync OLED at 120hz. SICK
I'm in the process of building a PC for my wife and am going with a Ryzen 5 7600X3D and 4070 Ti Super as my combo. Going for decent 4k/Mild Ray tracing gaming. I'm not too worried about specific FPS numbers.
I was considering the same spec pc for myself, however I don’t think 12gb vram will be enough over the next few years.
@@Shannon-ul5re This is where PC naming is trash - The 4070 Ti Super has 16gb of gddr6x (at least memory buffer to get to 16...). I had the exact same thought at first - before the rabbit hole of research I did - as well as not wanting to pay for the inflated 4080 prices.

Best Combo is Ryzen 5 7600X and the Rx 7700XT
My setup is the 7600x+ 4060Ti 16GB. Satisfied with my build overall
I have a x570 and a 4080 5800x3d. It runs pretty great.
can you suggest a good cpu for 4080 super instead of 7800x3d, I don't have the budget for that
@joeyazzata2897 a bit of work aa well, probably I'll be fine with r7 7700
In 4k you can go am4 even though I do not suggest it and get the 5800x3d or you can get the 7700x which is also a decent combo with the 4080.
The thing is everybody suggests the 7800X3D because it still out performs the newer 7900’s versions because of the L3 Cache if you build a high end with a 4070 ti super to a 4090. The newer Ryzen’s have more cores but are built for more productivity and tasks rather than games.
Not gonna lie Marcus, the thumbnail for this video was a bit scary lol.

For nvidia budget range the 30 series still work as well I know everyone raves about amd for budget gpus but I got my 3060ti on sale for basically half msrp and it’s an 8gb vram 256-bit bus
understanding how to control a CPU bottleneck is necessary no matter how good your CPU is, bc if there is a CPU bottleneck it ruins everything to a horrible degree.
I mean it might be smooth and consistent but you could have saved a ton of money on the GPU and gotten the exact same performance.
