Buy the correct replacement shocks. Leave the wheels on. Open hood, remove Airfilter from passenger side, reach over and take off the top nuts on both sides. Put the vehicle up on ramps. Crawl underneath, undo two 13mm bolts on each shock, remove shock. Install new shock and insert bolts loosely, just enough to hold the shock. Up top, center the lower rubber grommet, install top grommets and screw on nut hand tight. Now tight the bottom bolts. Tighten top nuts, add the lock nut and you are done. Replaced both mine this morning and about 40 minutes.
Gloves make him smart on several fronts. 1) cleaner. who needs to spend 20 minutes scrubbing your hands . 2) Helps prevent slipping. As someone who has spent almost 50 years working on cars, I can tell you there were several times I got stuck working on a car without all my things and wished I had my gloves. Helps anyone work smarter.

Good job
Question how come you didn’t lose from the top with a long extension
Probably because the nut would continue to spin and he had to use a wrench on the actual shock piston to prevent it from spinning.
Yes please make more on your truck I have one just like it. Replacing whole front end
How the hell did you get the top nut off with just to wrenches. I been fighting with mine for months
I bought a tool,(Lisle 20400 universal Shock Absorber tool)but I did not use. I think you had better use a special tool.
@@kane-kk I ended up grinding the whole nut off
I have the same problem with the shock diameter. Did you ever figure out how to fix this ?
