    I changed the pump on mine a week ago an had to drop the tank. Turns out the thing was pretty loaded with scum in it. Cleaned the tank out but i think i messed up and didnt hookup the extra wire off the pump because the gauge reads zero gas.

    The 97's don't have enough fuel lines to drop the the fuel tank without causing even more damage. Takes 10 minutes to remove 6 bolts from the bed, disconnect electrical wires from the tail lights, and have three people to remove the bed as you have so much easy access now. Shifting the bed is also optional.

    Thanks for this video Kanekk! I hear mixed reviews about WD-40 and rubber. Here's a video of someone who tested rubber soaked in WD-40. He saw some swelling and softening of the rubber: ua-cam.com/video/HfcEPso4YoY/v-deo.html (skip to around 12:30). Also curious how filling up the zerks worked out for you. Did the new boots contain the lubricant well or did they leak? Thank you!

  • @fluoridaman2332

    Dropping the tank is easier but those comments get buried because they want the bed to fall on you while working in there so you can get hurt = more money to them.

We left the rear bolts in loosely to keep alignment just lifted the front. Cheapest fuel pump I could find and it's lasted years lol

    Any particular reason why you went with the 180 thermostat instead of the 195 degree? How’s it running and did gas mileage or heat during the winter change?

    • @kane-kk
      @kane-kk 2 роки тому

      When using a 195 degree thermostat, it was always 210 degrees even in winter. As soon as the car stopped, it exceeded 210 degrees. I thought that such a condition was not good for the radiator, so I used a 180 degree thermostat. Now it is below 210 degrees if the car is moving even in the summer. I don't know the change in gas mileage.

    • @deegaw11
