The modern day story was by far the most hyped part of the games for me. Each game (AC1, 2, Brotherhood) made me progressively more psyched about the ending and what would come. This is why the whole modern day stuff has been irrelevant for me after AC3.
@@XDLugia Same for me, totally agree. Really don't get why some people hated the modern day setting, it made sense for the animus and had purpose to the story. Honestly, shame on Ubisoft for messing up this franchise, their main problem is that they don't know exactly what they want for their games. AC underwent 4 different identities and still they can't figure it out. They're just copying other popular hits the past few years and going with the trend. AC: Codename Red is just going to be a downgraded Ghost of Tsushima. Although AC Mirage was a step in the right direction but with its flaws.
@@ApacheLongbow117Yeah for sure. The whole animus thing made the game very unique and it was handled very well as they jumped between settings. For quite some time now it has felt more like a typical action game in X setting with some forced modern era stuff in order to convince you that it is AC.
@thejohndoe9153 the newer assinasins creed games are influenced by trying to keep everyone happy that's also why they don't have much of a plot coz before they went down the "rpg" route it was because assassin's creed was seen as a dumbed down action game with no skill involved (even tho that only applied to the combat and only if you refused to use the full combat system) that's why unity came out and it is a good game now still a little broken (I've only played it on xbox) so coz it flopped they went on to this almost semi rpg and at that point they just want to keep everyone happy so ended up fucking it up anyway that's my weird rant
I enjoyed the naval battles in that were included in some of the games. Not sure about anyone else in Odyssey (ancient stele) origins (ancient tablet) been wondering what they said (I know irrelevant for gameplay) but always intrigued what the characters learned from those artifacts.
Assassin's Creed Victory was my dream AC game when it was leaked. I was seventeen and still pretty high on the series, and Victorian London was my most wanted setting for them to do. The leaks looked exactly like what I had imagined The protagonist even looked eerily similar to fan art I had made. I still mourn its loss, and the mediocrity we got instead. That was the second time the series broke my heart. The first was when they unceremoniously killed off Desmond and basically discarded the modern day story that had been developing over the entire series up to that point. Things have never really been the same since that.
Man we really needed the ac 3 crossover with ac rogue. Like imagine a game connecting both the assassins and Templars with the player after playing both sides separately, but no we just never get to see the war between Connor and Shay
@@Mikeh2077 I just sais to face Achilles as an example. Maybe it was about getting the information about that last temple or whatever, infiltrating the Homestead. We'll never know.
I saw this on reddit once, but the original poster suggested for Desmond's cut ending that what if Desmond and Lucy went into the spaceship, and travel to another place, but once the camera pans out, we would see that they were in fact still on earth, but back in time, and it would turn out that Desmond and Lucy were the Ancestors to who would later become the Isu, and Desmond's DNA would mutate through his decedents to become the DNA that the ISU had millions of years later. wanted to know your thoughts on this. I forget where I saw this post though.
How dare they, the chain blade for Connor would have been amazing but I see why they cut it. Also, the enhanced crowd blending in Black Flag might have been specifically programmed for the E3 presentation and then they couldn’t implement it smoothly into the full game so they cut it.
The blending with crowd was featured first in AC3, Black Flag removed it, there are still a few animations that you can trigger, one is from that e3 mission where he sits with the pirates, but in the retail version he doesn't drink and one during the Wood Rogers assassination mission.
@@riannon8925 honestly I’m replaying the AC franchise right now but I’m only on brotherhood because I’m going for the platinum on them all too so I’m a little hazy on my memory, but I’m talking about the enhanced crowd blending where he would have animations with the people unlike in AC2 where Ezio would just stand or sit with people. But your saying that AC3 had the enhanced blending?
AC 3 had more diverse animations while blending. Like Connor would sit around a group of people or idle against a wall to blend. These are just some examples I can remember. While it's not on the scale of interactivity that was shown in Black Flag's E3 trailer it's still better than the blending in Black Flag's retail version. A lot of the gameplay mechanics in Black Flag and Rogue were dumbed down from AC 3
How dare they! Also thank you for this amazing video, it’s interesting you mentioned the underwater exploration of London cause I had actually had a dream a couple weeks ago where I was living inside an assassins creed game and actually do this myself in person. "We Didn't add Philadelphia because the layout wouldn't have worked well for a stealth running assassins creed game" *proceeds to create Assassins creed Valhalla*
14:32 Interestingly, if you return to the main menu while in Philadelphia, the save file will actually acknowledge it. Considering you're there for 10 minutes tops, that's pretty unique, since the game doesn't have THAT many locations the save file could list. Even all modern locations are collectively labelled as "Present Day." Here's all of them: Present Day Opera House Atlantic Ocean (all naval locations, including Kidd's Treasure islands) Boston New York Frontier Homestead Philadelphia
I could have sworn that one of the original missions showing off the gameplay for AC3 also wasn't in the game. Or, otherwise, I never found it. I remember seeing something where you climb up a cliff into a fort & interact with a a guy butchering a deer, who gives you a mission.
@@vectivius8303I really wish we could have had some Abenaki Patriots on the homestead & got missions that allowed us to travel to areas of the frontier & meet other tribes- like going to Ohio, King's Mountain or being a part of the effort to defend New York they talk about having happened just before that location becomes available, as a big Native contingent was part of it.

As someone who actually likes the modern day storylines and the Isu precursor stuff, that Mirage cutscene made me realise why people who don't like all that get upset over it. I feel like games either need to make the modern day stuff optional, or split the games into two separate franchises because of the Isu stuff. There's a theory that the cutscene is related to the Infinite project that Ubisoft has been teasing.
Honestly they need to have two AC teams, one working on the new open world games and have another working on AC titles that focus on a linear story and old school combat with only a few areas.
How dare they: Alright now that I have your attention, as a big fan of Rogue, thanks for showing me new stuff about it that makes me even more mad at Ubisoft for botching such a cool concept. I’m Platinum-ing the game currently. Wish we could’ve got a showdown with Shay & Connor or Arno somehow. Lots of potential there, but it seems like Ubisoft missed their window of opportunity there. Could’ve been a massive game for the fans.
The Rogue concepts are amazing. And it would really highlight the parallels with Shay and Arno’s personalities when their worlds fall apart (obviously through very different reasons). Shay, Arno and Haytham are my favorites across the franchise (I also really love Shaun), so anything more with that storyline is amazing. I’d have loved to see the game cover events with Foresaken in more detail. It’s such a fun read!
I’m ngl, Ubisoft makes assassins creed prototypes that look so much more interesting than the final product Take the prototype for ac3 for example, old animations from the Ezio collection with a fluid parkour system and more detailed snowy environments of the frontier Along with the combat looking dynamic and fluid to every interaction as well Plus the end where you can call on an entire platoon of American soldiers seemed more interesting to me Same deal with Victory having a much more interesting darker tone
That cutscene from Mirage had no vegetation, so it could very possibly be on Mars with them underground and the antenna being how they communicate with others. Could be 22nd or 23rd century with how they were talking about William Miles. Great shift could also mean that there was an event that happened on earth that led way to them colonizing Mars.
2:46 Actually, Quebec would be wayyyy south-east as the North Atlantic area in Rogue is the far east of Canada. You can clearly see Newfoundland and Nova Scotia as well some of New Brunswick
@@jessechristenson1735 My bad I meant it is south-west. Yeah it's North of halifax but the bulk of Rogue's NA map is the waters around newfoundland, so it's more south
My head cannon is still that Aveline & Connor did in fact end up together. I’ve never found any reason that it shouldn’t work out. The mission was just how they met and what happened wasn’t part of the “Assassin-Templar Conflict” so it just went unstated.
20:00 just a little correction, the model does not go unused, it's used on generated Abstergo Guards. If you keep am eye out, you may see it up close on a cutscene.
I honestly think the problem with Ubisoft based on these isn't just development and time constraints, it's also them just providing a teaser or trailer that sometimes included full gameplay, and providing the said cut content on there. It wouldn't be an issue had they just not show any of it and just stick to whichever plan they actually are going with to completion instead of promoting and showing people these concepts during development, during incomplete development especially since a lot of these could have been included in one way or another had there not have been "changes" in the narrative their building and they weren't done deciding yet in including these ideas. I'm not sure who's the lead in marketing that thought it was a good idea to show something just because it looked cool when it's not even completed development yet, but they need to chill out because it's borderline misleading.
How dare they? When Nolan said he would be able to time travel are we meant to get from that that Desmond had been exposed to the bleeding effect for so long that he was almost able to enter it at will and not need to use the animus? Kind of like that scene in AC2 where he sees Altair and Maria in Acre?
The 21st century "ancient history" line is clear sarcasm where the dude is making a joke about how something from the 21st century is being discussed in a "history seminar" also, HOW DARE THEY
Syndicate could have had such an interesting social stealth spin that incorporated the wealth and class of the player. Making you unable to blend into any crowd as they would not accept anyone.
How dare they let you make this high-quality video? I enjoy these videos where you almost act like a journalist, digging in to unresolved cases. It obviously must take a lot of time, but atleast the end product is worth it, well done!
When playing open world games I like to travel the boundary of a map after completion & I often notice stuff such as the eastern bank of the Nile or Quebec likely being cut content due to various things. Often these areas are also conceptualized that at least theoretically cut or new content could easily be inserted there. One thing I imagine could've also been an idea at some point is for instance more of Epiros appearing in AC Odyssey both due to the makeup of the map as well as the fact that the Peloponnesian War also included that area and the island of Corfu. Florida in AC Black Flag is another one of those areas which are there but weirdly off-limits.
I'm glad the interview for Rogue exists. Like in my last comment its my secret fave, but now I see that I really did understand the constraints it faced irl and damn it could have been a great rival to Ezio's arc (almost like a dark mirror reflection). If and I seriously doubt and hope it dosen't happen get a "Remake", I'd love to see this and more as Shay has resonated well with myself and the community. But at the same time Goobisoft has really gone down in writing, so again I hope not because it will remain as a diamond in the rough in my eyes and I love it for that.
Same. I love Shay so much that if he was real I'd marry him. 😅. I love his character and story. I would love a remake but I am aware that if they do one it will disappoint me and shatter my heart. In the end I am happy with what we have. 😊
The Mirage deleted scene may be part of a simulation. The concept of simulations and future predictions was introduced quite early in the franchise, it could be that Is that dialogue part of a "possible future", seen by The Reader?
I remember there was plans for ACR that there would be a much more expanded bomb crafting system with hundreds of combinations and that there would be more random events like the recruits but where civilians would be rescued from being robbed or aided in moving boxes or preventing a raid.
35:40 you can actually find the small encampment from the E3 gameplay in the actual game but only during the Winter season sequences. There aren't any side quests but its there.
How dare they ! i am actually glad that they changed the story of AC 3, it's still my favorite game of the franchise, finished it 4 times already, I remember I played when I was maybe 14, those late nights, it was the only game I actually enjoyed the present time missions as much as the animus ones, sometimes I would get out voluntary just to speak with the characters, and just listen to the ambience of that hub. I think the story of Desmond was great, it makes reference to "Hybris" and tells us that we can't run from our destiny, and him sacrificing represents him maturing, but also I think it represents more the fact that everything is already written, already planned, for everyone, maybe the Isu planned everything already, maybe the conflict between Juno and Minerva was so that assassin's had the impression that they could choose what happens next, when actually they don't have a choice, either they go on, or die, it makes me remember how religion, at least in Christianity is portrayed, if you go on the path of Christ you will have a good eternity, but if you don't then hell awaits you, but hey, we don't force you to take this path, we are just saying that If you don't follow Christ you will go to hell. Sorry I talk to much ( I am just a boy)
How dare they! I’m ngl I kinda want another company and game series to take that last concept and make it themselves because holy moly that would be sick!
HOW DARE THEY, The problem is, the OG Assassins Creed lore is way to detailed for new fans to understand or care about, they like the new direction of AC with the big open worlds and hacker slasher combat, they want AC to be more like a Souls game. The only problem is people like me, the Real fans miss the old detailed story teller Lore and Desmond Arc with the old combat. I am not surprised that AC is in the states it's in now, great video :)
if honest i dont think people who enjoy newer ac games play it for lore or story they play it just for era its based in and combat it has, like they could be any type character in that era and not matter since story is so messed up and ruined now that story doesnt matter i think in past of any new ac game or modern time. Also thats best part to me with origins was setting and combat but for sure story telling was bad and so was characters you play as, since found it hard to like them as grew up playing from ac1.
@@nikoraasu6929 At this point the problem isn't even the new direction but just the really bad execution of the new direction, the cut scenes are hard to watch and the gameplay isn't rewarding, we will see how AC shadows does because by the looks of it they making the exact same mistakes.
Desmond was boring as fuck, and all the precursor shit was just ancient aliens crap. People plays AC games for the historical settings and the power fantasy of being some kind of super assassin, the modern day crap was always boring.
"Rogue is a case of 'what if'" hits so hard as I'm replaying it (on the switch... yeah i know). There's so much good stuff in here but it feels rushed and choppy.
Weird thing is, I remember playing in Philadelphia at one point in AC3 on the PS3. I even remember it having a base that I had to liberate. But then I couldn't go back and I had one base left that I could never liberate. I never had 100% completion because of that
I will say the cut content throughout this series is baffling while also interesting. Some of these would be game changers for the series. Syndicate might have been a 10/10 game if the earlier concepts had made it into the game. I do think its a solid 8 though but thats my Assassin's Creed bias. I also think the vast mountains and desert across the Nile just makes me think that it was there to show there is a massive world beyond what Bayek is doing in Egypt. Simply there to illustrate the vastness of the world and how there are likely many other locations beyond those mountains that need a Hidden One. The Connor speech though should have been in the game. I also think the chain blade would have been so cool. Definitely makes me think of Scorpion from Mortal Kombat though.
Not too keen on the spaceship idea but love the part of Desmond being the ultimate assassin who uses his new abilities to defeat the templars, maybe he could have been one of Isu ancestors in one game and get a new ability like eagle vision. A shame for what could have been.

Man, the amount of effort you put in your AC content is truly staggering. You're currently my favorite AC content creator on UA-cam 😊.
Thank you. That means a lot
Weirdthing is how technically in lore hes not dead and ended up like subject 16 but they then chose to forget it all
Man we really needed the ac 3 crossover with ac rogue. Like imagine a game connecting both the assassins and Templars with the player after playing both sides separately, but no we just never get to see the war between Connor and Shay
Also would have been good if they included Arno and Aveline too
I think in Rogue they just cut out Shay returning to Davenport Homestead as a templar to face Achilles.
My guess was because it wouldn’t have made any sense. Unless Shay and Achilles fought a brutal battle with Shay winning and sparing him.
@@Mikeh2077 I just sais to face Achilles as an example. Maybe it was about getting the information about that last temple or whatever, infiltrating the Homestead. We'll never know.
having aya as the main lead would make a lot of sense actually since she’s mentioned all the way back in ac 2
Kind of weird how coincidentally it was actually a concept they were exploring as well lol.
How dare they…
Great Video Bro. Currently replaying Brotherhood and its so nice to have your videos in the background. Please more of these long videos.
"We Didn't add Philadelphia because the layout wouldn't have worked well for a stealth running assassins creed game"
*proceeds to create Assassins creed Valhalla*
14:32 Interestingly, if you return to the main menu while in Philadelphia, the save file will actually acknowledge it. Considering you're there for 10 minutes tops, that's pretty unique, since the game doesn't have THAT many locations the save file could list. Even all modern locations are collectively labelled as "Present Day." Here's all of them:
Present Day
Opera House
Atlantic Ocean (all naval locations, including Kidd's Treasure islands)
Boston
New York
Frontier
Homestead
Philadelphia
the ac victory stuff breaks my heart, they also missed out on the complete rogue experience
AAAAAAAAAAAA WHY DOES THE CONCEPT ARTS FOR AC VICTORY LOOK SO COOL
I could have sworn that one of the original missions showing off the gameplay for AC3 also wasn't in the game. Or, otherwise, I never found it. I remember seeing something where you climb up a cliff into a fort & interact with a a guy butchering a deer, who gives you a mission.
Would've been nice to have military camps and accept missions to help the war effort
Mate once again another fantastic video. Another video filled with examples of how much you do to get them right. The whole concept of the space travel and them become adam and eve would have been great. I can't wait to see how well code name red turns out. Look forward to tbe next video 👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it. I appreciate the words
'How dare they' cut Connor's ending monologue. It honestly does give more depth to his "boring" character and a cleaner ending to the story.
@@Themetalwookie666 fuck no
The Jack the Ripper DLC for Syndicate should have been the main story of AC Victory, IMO.
46 minutes this is a banger thanks man for your work this channel deserves so much more 💙❤️💙❤️
Thank you for the kind words haha
How dare they:
Alright now that I have your attention, as a big fan of Rogue, thanks for showing me new stuff about it that makes me even more mad at Ubisoft for botching such a cool concept.
Why Shaun? I feel neutral towards Shaun, but i heard others find him very annoying.
connors speech is very heart felt and should've been kept....something of a disposition alota us solitary assassins can relate to.
I’m ngl, Ubisoft makes assassins creed prototypes that look so much more interesting than the final product
Take the prototype for ac3 for example, old animations from the Ezio collection with a fluid parkour system and more detailed snowy environments of the frontier
Along with the combat looking dynamic and fluid to every interaction as well
Plus the end where you can call on an entire platoon of American soldiers seemed more interesting to me
Same deal with Victory having a much more interesting darker tone
I'd pay 70$ for that Ac 3 & Syndicate all day
It looks amazing
@@HaanSoIo tbh I’d pay $100 for their old modern day plot, that had real potential to be a mind bending wtf storyline
Impressive how much energy and skill you put in this videos! Keep up the good work!
Thanks man. That means a lot. Been seeing too much negative comments recently and this one made me smile
Connor speech made me cry, AC 3 will always stay my favourite AC
That cutscene from Mirage had no vegetation, so it could very possibly be on Mars with them underground and the antenna being how they communicate with others. Could be 22nd or 23rd century with how they were talking about William Miles. Great shift could also mean that there was an event that happened on earth that led way to them colonizing Mars.
2:46 Actually, Quebec would be wayyyy south-east as the North Atlantic area in Rogue is the far east of Canada. You can clearly see Newfoundland and Nova Scotia as well some of New Brunswick
Quebec City is northwest of Saint John and Halifax. And exit past those would make sense to access the st lawrence River to Quebec
@@jessechristenson1735 My bad I meant it is south-west. Yeah it's North of halifax but the bulk of Rogue's NA map is the waters around newfoundland, so it's more south
Connor and Aveline being love interest couple were actually somewhat good
My head cannon is still that Aveline & Connor did in fact end up together.
Fascinating video mate, great research
Thank you!!
Another very well researched and put together video thanks dude great insights to what could have been
great video! i'm surprised the epilogue for assassin's creed 2 was never mentioned though
How dare they? When Nolan said he would be able to time travel are we meant to get from that that Desmond had been exposed to the bleeding effect for so long that he was almost able to enter it at will and not need to use the animus? Kind of like that scene in AC2 where he sees Altair and Maria in Acre?
The 21st century "ancient history" line is clear sarcasm where the dude is making a joke about how something from the 21st century is being discussed in a "history seminar"
also, HOW DARE THEY
Syndicate could have had such an interesting social stealth spin that incorporated the wealth and class of the player. Making you unable to blend into any crowd as they would not accept anyone.
The Connor dialogue that was cut from the ending has bugged me ever since I learned about it. How dare they not reintroduce it in the remaster!
Also Connor’s cut speech from the end of ACIII was beautiful
Damn i didnt know all this, thanks for putting so much time and effort into these videos cus i always enjoy them
Honestly, having Edward use a hookblade wiuld have been cool especially because it would reference to the classic Pirate with hook image lol
Daym Connor's speech hits hard with the music
How dare they
I really love the concept of AC Victory, wish could have gotten a game with that outfit. Great information regarding the franchise ❤
How dare they
Awesome work, dude, keep it up!!
How dare they! great vid man
Thanks!
I swear I have been looking and waiting for this exact video for a very long time. Thanks!
How dare they let you make this high-quality video? I enjoy these videos where you almost act like a journalist, digging in to unresolved cases. It obviously must take a lot of time, but atleast the end product is worth it, well done!
I love how long Shay was an assassins then turned rouge and became a Templar because I though u would start as a Templar glad how they did it
When playing open world games I like to travel the boundary of a map after completion & I often notice stuff such as the eastern bank of the Nile or Quebec likely being cut content due to various things.
16:28 Jack the Ripper perfectly shows how darker and gritter London works better for city setting.
Aww mama that ending would have been awesome if they had of stuck to it. Great video
How dare they! Also that ending intervew thing was funny
Ac dev: we want our games to be realistic and accurate.
Also ac devs: adds teleport powers, monsters, and gods.
Great job bro this video is amazing I really enjoyed it
Glad you enjoyed, thanks for the comments!!
How dare they
It would be cool if they did some remakes of the older games and they used some of this cut content in them
0:07 That last one is ridiculous.
I did notice that Silas was killed much earlier.
35:40 you can actually find the small encampment from the E3 gameplay in the actual game but only during the Winter season sequences. There aren't any side quests but its there.
HOW.
DARE.
THEY.
Seriously your content is great keep up the awesome work man. ❤️
Thanks a ton!
What a video, great job as always bro 🙏
Oh and how dare they have cut out such an epic ass ending
How dare they
Very cool video, some real interesting ideas and it would have been cool to see how some of em played out
man all these cut content for rogue really just makes a man wonder what it could have been
How dare they 😐 Also can't wait for Red and Hex. I love you're videos man. Keep on rockin & have an amazing week ♥️😊🍻
Also thats best part to me with origins was setting and combat but for sure story telling was bad and so was characters you play as, since found it hard to like them as grew up playing from ac1.
you either make a game for a fanbase or make a game so dilluted that it becomes a game for no one, like Valhalla
@@nikoraasu6929 At this point the problem isn't even the new direction but just the really bad execution of the new direction, the cut scenes are hard to watch and the gameplay isn't rewarding, we will see how AC shadows does because by the looks of it they making the exact same mistakes.
@@chillyman7340 well for now all we know is they are still pushing woke agenda
Desmond was boring as fuck, and all the precursor shit was just ancient aliens crap. People plays AC games for the historical settings and the power fantasy of being some kind of super assassin, the modern day crap was always boring.
You have the most informative and unbiased content in the ac community.
and how dare they! :)
Wow. You a real one
"Rogue is a case of 'what if'" hits so hard as I'm replaying it (on the switch... yeah i know). There's so much good stuff in here but it feels rushed and choppy.
17:26 - Look at their uniforms as well, bright and resplendent. And we get the drab looking outfits within Syndicate.
This channel needs more love
I’m from Newfoundland Canada and it was awesome to be able to sail to and search around our province!
That mirage secret scene u played made me feel as if theyre going to have desmond return
1957-1958? Damn he must’ve looked like the crypt keeper
I guess I’m wrong but I could swear the Connor speech was in the game when he was digging to hide the key
How Dare they!
great video btw, Really enjoyed it made my day!❤
Glad you enjoyed!
Ezio the Auditore in... RAPTOR'S CREED
Weird thing is, I remember playing in Philadelphia at one point in AC3 on the PS3. I even remember it having a base that I had to liberate. But then I couldn't go back and I had one base left that I could never liberate. I never had 100% completion because of that
I always wondered about that red assassin in AC1, like, TH is his deal? Thanks for sharing that
**Conner doing an Emotional speech about the Assassins and Templars.**
"Anyways, Canoes."
Definitely makes me think of Scorpion from Mortal Kombat though.
they should give us a remake of rogue, and this time actually implement this cool ideas that the developer spoke about
Love your videos subscribed
Not too keen on the spaceship idea but love the part of Desmond being the ultimate assassin who uses his new abilities to defeat the templars, maybe he could have been one of Isu ancestors in one game and get a new ability like eagle vision. A shame for what could have been.
i swear i remember something kind of like that connor speech when i beat the game, how crazy that that memory is fabricated
