17:02. I suspect co op was prevented because it's not feasible in the RPG era. There are a couple of time-stopping mechanics like the rush assassinations of Odyssey. Same with Mirage's teleportation.
If you ask me we've never had a real lethal combat system in assassin's creed because I believe that assassin's in open combat are not necessarily trying to fight you they are trying to kill you. If the gameplay can actually project this thought process in the within the characters we've played as it would be a huge game changer for the series
While I admit that sometimes 100% sync objectives are fun to do they are a real pain overall, especially with ones such as not getting hit or detected, destroying ships' weak spots, and killing pairs of guards as you chase a target. They are my least favorite part of Brotherhood and 3, along with what happens with Lucy in Brotherhood. It's still surprising Ubisoft never allowed reattempting failed bonus objectives through checkpoints in the remastered Ezio Trilogy. If they weren't required for 100% sync but rather for earning more money or certain rewards then they would be better.
@@rayX98 True the 100% sync does follow the animus with how the assassin we play as did his/her missions and it added more challenge to missions. Though it would have been better for Brotherhood and Revelations to allow players to reattempt bonus objectives from checkpoints, AC 3 to not ask for specific things like keeping 40 or 50 meters from a fleeing target, and missions not offering too small windows to do missions such as Black Bart’s Gambit in Black Flag asking to not get seen for the entire mission while also killing the ship captain at the end with a rope swing or a couple of the tomb missions in Brotherhood requiring getting through the missions in 8 minutes. Sometimes bonus objectives are fun and make missions more challenges and other times they can ask for too much or feel unclear.
Man, I love your videos, I agree 100%. About manual jump I have an idea (totally my opinion) that could be like this: At the end of the building you have three bars (one in front of you, one at the top and one at the bottom) analog forward, R1 would be for the bar in front of you, R1+ X, would be to jump to the bar above you, R1+ O, it would be for the bar beneath you. (this on the playstation controller) That's it, but I have to think better... (sorry for the long text)😅
I have two myself 1. Being able to summon assassin's like in brotherhood 2. Having a special armer set you can unlock in each game by completing challenges like tombs.
I'll admit, having co-op return would be interesting. I didn't play Unity (I only have it on PC from the time it was free and my rig can't handle it), but the thought of two people on a mission would be awesome. You could come up with strategies to clear locations and all that. One even act as a diversion to help the other.
I agree with most of this list... because I didn't start playing the series until Black Flag, quite a few of these older features from Assassin's Creed III or before, I've never tried, and they sound like exactly what the franchise needs to get back to its "true roots" and move away from the large scale open world RPG format it became known as with Odyssey and Valhalla.
My list of features that need to come back: 1)Recruits. I really like how you can just walk slowly, while your friends doing everything for you. Probably they even could make "command" System. How I see it:You hold call button, look at place, where you want a victim to be hidden, then you release it and done! Your guy runs, kills, hides his prey, flees. Also I think they need to add a feature like:how your recruits gonna kill, will they stay with you for some time or will they flee, will they work like distraction for guards like thieves or smh. 2) Co-op 3) customisation. Without stats, probably
Ubisoft will keep missing the marks in every franchise they have. The last time they hit something worth some awards is Far Cry 3 back 12 years ago. I wish AC or Far Cry was not a Ubisoft IP
3:06 This is still insane to me. Even on console without any mods or expensive equipment, like a better display. Also I’m surprised that manual jump wasn’t a thing in the first place with rpg mechanics. Would’ve made so much sense
From Unity, side content that makes the player think. That game has the Nostradamus Riddles and Paris Mysteries, where you the player need to work out what resources in-game to examine and how they lead to a solution. It feels more like a treasure hunt when you aren’t making a beeline to a quest marker. It’s more satisfying when you’ve picked out the pieces and fit them together from your own working. Odyssey does do this for which Spartan king is the cult member, and I think a mission in Legacy of the First Blade does too, but this type of content is more the outlier than the norm.
I think this is why an Assassin's Creed set during the Philippine Revolution against the Spanish Colonization would be perfect. 1. Two clear factions, a group with revolutionaries one side, and another bearing crosses; 2. Sooooo many historical events that the MC can participate in; 3. Variety of weapons and fighting styles; 4. Variety in environments, from buildings to mountains, and seas to rivers; and finally 5. 333 years of colonization could give us time for both the Assassins and the Templars to set their roots down, might even have enough historical playground to set a new trilogy there.
for the full sync thing, i think a good way to implement is was instead of it being needed for 100%, its like a guide on how to do the mission and guide you on how the original ancestor did it. cus imo, i always saw full sync as for the game to tell you this is how this assassin did this mission. idk feels cool to do it how the og did.
All i want is a freaking Unsheathe/sheathe weapon. It is so destrucrive for immersion when You can control if Your charcter going with sword in hand or sheathe. The forgot that because of the consol players but man it is one of the most important things. Also weapon disapearing in cutscenes sucks.
Odyssey was about the Cult which was the earliest version of Templars that we had so the beginnings of Templars basically. And we play Alexios (Kassandra) because they are a descendant of the Isu Bloodline through Pythagoras which is why Layla chose them to find Isu Artifacts before Abstergo does and she got to Alexios through the Book of Herodotos and the Spear, the Spear containing the DNA of Alexios So all in all the game is trying to display the beginnings of the Templars and the search for Isu Artifacts through Alexios (Kassandra)
If I remember correctly…other players in Unity’s co-op do get their face swapped out to look different from Arno, though it’s only relative to each player Each person is Arno from their perspective, but the other three will have different faces along with whatever robes and armor they’re wearing
I know it’s been months since this video, but now that I’ve seen it, I couldn’t ignore one point: the lack of historical events. I understand that ‘Odyssey’ might seem to have fewer historical elements due to some ‘generic’ missions, but that game is FULL of battles and historical characters. Perhaps they don’t feel as significant because it’s extremely extensive. A Spanish historian on UA-cam, Miguel de Lys, analyzes the historical aspects of each ‘Assassin’s Creed’ game and mentions a great number of historical events in Odyssey. Similarly, in ‘Origins,’ although there are fewer events, most of them involve Cleopatra.
I would like to add, assassinations with whichever weapon was equipped, other than the hidden blade. I really liked how they did this in the kenway trilogy.
Really funny to me that your first comment is exactly what I was thinking while re-playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. :) I really think these tombs were awesome and should come back. Also agree with many other of your comments.
The one feature that i REALLY want to return, is the Assassin Recruits That feature (to me at least) makes Brotherhood, Revelations, and 3 even better games than they already are. It may make the game too easy, but i just want to fight alongside my allies during free roam and some missions too And hot take: i actually really liked AC3's recruits and how the they are actually fixed characters that each of them have their own unique abilities and stories. I have to admit though, even their design is great for blending in plain sight, i kinda want to see them in Assassin Robes too (maybe being able to customize their clothing to wear assassin outfit or citizen clothing would be great)
The biggest things I wished were never removed were the advanced parkour in Unity and the tomb missions. It seems so weird that the games basically ditched the parkour elements in this series for the RPG games that emphasize combat.
I’ve played AC ever since the first game came out and fell in love. And while the Ezio trilogy is fantastic, and I’ve played and loved in its own way every AC game since then, but I actually do like AC Odyssey - A LOT!! Valhalla had its issues, but Odyssey is my favorite. This is probably because I love mythology and it was fun to immerse myself in ancient Greece. While I do love the Templars vs Assassins storyline, I didn’t mind the Cult of Kosmos as this was the most ancient AC game so far, so those organizations weren’t established yet. I didn’t mind the gameplay. I guess I got used to the open world parkour like in other modern games, so the transition seemed smooth to me. Yes, more elaborate and puzzled tombs or chases would be nice, as well as more historically accurate events, but Odyssey was very well done IMO. A perfect game? No, but it’s up there.
I’d love to see a renovation system but also like how AC3 homestead missions were as well. I want to be able to renovate places and then see an impact it has on the city/people, the way the people act, less guards/thugs walking around (police would be fine) but a bit like how less royalist walked around in unity and stuff like that
I would love for co-op to return, as well as multiplayer in general. I have a friend who lives in Canada now, and a pal 100 miles away from where I am. We do try and catch up every now and then with some gaming, and I would love to play AC Unity with them, though it's rare to get on the actual server. Just the idea of working with your friends to kill Templars is really fun, and they really should use it again in a future game.
I loved the 100% Sync when it was only 1 thing needed to reach it, rather than in AC 3 Where it was two or more. Added to it, but didn't make it feel to challenging.
I miss fast assassination animations... in Mirage, it's so slow that while the animation happens, a second enemy can land an attack and then will get kill by the chain assassination.
There were also tomb missions on Origins Which Is I like too many Isu Locations on Origins Than Valhalla and Mirage. I hope Ubisoft watches this because everything does make sense and I hope they bring those back because those are the ones that makes the Game Alive
2:47 I'd add to that. Not just a Manual Jump. Instead I'd say Remove All Automatic Parkour features. They always result in getting stuck on something while trying to walk around it. Instead have a Manual Jump that Always jumps the same height and length Every Time. Auto is unpredictable. The exact same input in the exact same place can jump from one building to another, or to a lower part of the same building, or off the building. The exact same input in the exact same place can go up to a window or to the left around it. The exact same input in the exact same place can leap to your death or onto a wall behind you.
I would also make the hidden blade do the same as a /kill console command. It kills everyone you use it on, regardless of their health. All balanced out by the requirement of getting close to them, or jumping into a place where other enemies can spot you. I'd combine it with a really low health bar for the player, to make good combat performance impressive, but more importantly incentivise stealth when you can't tank hits.
I like to think that instead of removing features, Ubisoft replaces it, and if it does well, it gets replaced regardless for another new gimmick, otherwise we wouldn''t have so many good one game features
I found the tombs in Valhalla to be fun. Sure they involved carrying spheres to unlock doors but I enjoyed solving the puzzles and seeing the different designs of the tombs. They are much better than the tombs in Odyssey.
I hope I'm not the only one who kept getting caught in the amazing background music and am now trying to find out what it is.... If anyone knows what those soundtracks are.....
I havent played the later games. The latest Ive played are Syndicate and Unity. AC2 being my first AC game, I miss the glyphs you could only see in eagle vision.
Just give me Brotherhood level storytelling and gameplay loops, Unity level Parkour, AC3 Combat and..... Black Flag "level" exploration; meaning make every inch of the map interesting not necessarily just a big map. I would just also really like to recruit assassins again, explore crypts, and actually FEEL like I'm a part of an entire organization that strives to keep the peace within the shadows and with violent options.
Another thing they need to bring back is being able to run on the wire crossings. I miss being able to do that. Slugging across ropes and shit like that sucks. And also yes, they need to bring back decending parkour in unity.
They had multiple good settings for multiplayer after unity -Syndicate already had the two players, could’ve made missions where they can be played with another person or regular -Valhalla imagine raiding places with some friends and they could have much larger raids (like a stronghold) that give special things
Honestly, if they just took away the health bars and brought back the freeflow combat, the last few games would have been less frustrating. The only games that did healthbars in a somewhat tolerable way were the Ezio games, III, and Unity.
AC to me is singleplayer so any form of multiplayer including Coorp is not my cup of tea. Not cause I don't have friends, but more we all play different games and don't want to force friends into playing a game they don't want to in the first place. Same goes for the other way around.
Ubisoft needs to take notes from the Batman Arkham Knight game. If they mimicked the idea of combos, cool animations, polish the camera work and pacing it would be perfect. Make it more realistic to separate it from Batman obviously. I think combo animations are cool and special abilities as well.
imagine if they'd had renovations in Syndicate. It could have meant that once you'd freed an area from the Templars you could then start doing renovations to shops and similar to increase the number of working people and improve community spirit and reduce crime or decrease the chances of the Templars trying to take it back over. I know those last two weren't features of that game, but they would have been good additions. So would the option to start a new game in Unity and Syndicate.
It would be nice to have more crossovers in assassins creed that are meaningful like Ezio and Altair's was and it would be a miracle for a playable character to get a sequel game which hasn't been done since after Revelations.
Imagine the "Assassins Creed" IP splitting in two, two different games both connected. The first would still "Assassins Creed" where we get more games like AC1-AC4, old school return to roots type games. Along with that, the complimentary side, a "Templar Order" game. A game more like the newer games with a more RPG and combat focus.
Okay, most of these are good, but, we are a BIG disagree on the 100% sync objectives. But other than that, fairly good list, and i agree with most of these.
Odyssey also had tombs but they aren't even worth mentioning. I love that game (it's my favorite in the series) but the only good thing about the tombs is that they each gave you 1 skill point when you found a specific thing in them. Unless they were a part of a DLC they were completely forgettable and just boring chores consisting of lighting braziers to remember your path, pushing crates, avoiding spike traps, and fighting Snakes (which were unironically one of the most dangerous enemies in the game).
The introductory mission for Fate of Atlantis did have Layla navigate tombs in the modern day, the closest thing in a previous game being Brotherhood where Desmond went through the Monteriggioni tunnel and the Colosseum vault. Valhalla did have Layla also go through the damaged Yggdrasil complex to get to the main mechanism.
AC, at least the open world rpg games, should implement a multiplayer similar to what rockstar does with red dead online or gta online. All players enter the map and can select different roles in the game, hunt down templars, etc. and to be able to play with friends you can create a guild or bureau of your own and invite friends (similar to the posse feature on red dead online). Personally I think that would incentivize players to continually keep coming back and enhance the longevity of the game itself.
Better lip syncing and better animations is one thing I'd like. Ubisoft did pretty well with avatars facial animation but assassins creed facial animations have got worse

Recruit abilities: Assassinate, lure, ambush, Disguise and my favorite recturit ability, Riot. There's nothing I love more than an upheaval of the masses against the authorities.
Outfit Customization is still a thing in the RPG trilogy
@@meurer13daniel I haven't played the rpg trilogy. Not because I don't want to, I just don't have the hardware.
For me it's the rope dart. Very underrated with lots of versatility. When things line up correctly you can even pull enemies off rooftops.
In the context of the animus, it made sense to play like how the ancestor did it. It added a challenge to the easy story missions.
Your videos are really well made, understandable and a great joy to watch, cheers man
I appreciate that!
Man, I love your videos, I agree 100%.
About manual jump
I have an idea (totally my opinion) that could be like this:
At the end of the building you have three bars (one in front of you, one at the top and one at the bottom) analog forward, R1 would be for the bar in front of you, R1+ X, would be to jump to the bar above you, R1+ O, it would be for the bar beneath you.
(this on the playstation controller)
That's it, but I have to think better...
(sorry for the long text)😅
A game about the Spanish brotherhood would be really cool
I have two myself 1. Being able to summon assassin's like in brotherhood 2. Having a special armer set you can unlock in each game by completing challenges like tombs.
I'll admit, having co-op return would be interesting. I didn't play Unity (I only have it on PC from the time it was free and my rig can't handle it), but the thought of two people on a mission would be awesome. You could come up with strategies to clear locations and all that. One even act as a diversion to help the other.
I agree with most except for co op i just want future ac games to be single player only
Same, but I wouldn’t mind if they don’t have achievements attached
Bro I’d really love to see tailing missions again. They are so immersive for the assassin/stealth fantasy
No, god no, those can die in a hole
I used to dislike them but I actually liked them in Mirage.
If done good they definitely enhance the experience but really fuck black flags tailing missions
Black Flag PTSD
@@meurer13danielONG
I agree with most of this list... because I didn't start playing the series until Black Flag, quite a few of these older features from Assassin's Creed III or before, I've never tried, and they sound like exactly what the franchise needs to get back to its "true roots" and move away from the large scale open world RPG format it became known as with Odyssey and Valhalla.
My list of features that need to come back:
1)Recruits.
2) Co-op
3) customisation. Without stats, probably
Ubisoft will keep missing the marks in every franchise they have. The last time they hit something worth some awards is Far Cry 3 back 12 years ago. I wish AC or Far Cry was not a Ubisoft IP
One more thing i'd like to add: the parachute. In Brotherhood and Revelations, gliding with the parachute is so fun.
Assassins Creed went from Historical Science Fiction to Straight Mythological Fantasy.
What we need is some shit during the crusades to fight ACTUAL templars.
@@r3gret2079 go play the first one then
@@cotopaximusic I mean a game that isn't a million years old.
@@r3gret2079so a remake of the first one
@@simonesedda05 a remake would be dope.
The one thing we really need are camera relative ejects! Being locked to hard axes based on player orientation is nothing but a step back
Agreeable features, that would be cool if we got the return of multiplayer in maybe "Codename Red" 🤷♂
i didnt like the renovation system but it was nice that it gave us income without being forced to grind for it
I think this is why an Assassin's Creed set during the Philippine Revolution against the Spanish Colonization would be perfect.
1. Two clear factions, a group with revolutionaries one side, and another bearing crosses;
2. Sooooo many historical events that the MC can participate in;
3. Variety of weapons and fighting styles;
4. Variety in environments, from buildings to mountains, and seas to rivers; and finally
5. 333 years of colonization could give us time for both the Assassins and the Templars to set their roots down, might even have enough historical playground to set a new trilogy there.
Replaying unity and I realized how much I suck at stealth
It's not you, it is the entire game who is a glitch fest bro.😅
It's not you, the entire game is foundationally broken at its core
Kk guys, Atleast something good is going on with parkour
It’s shouldn’t be that hard to stealth in unity.
for the full sync thing, i think a good way to implement is was instead of it being needed for 100%, its like a guide on how to do the mission and guide you on how the original ancestor did it. cus imo, i always saw full sync as for the game to tell you this is how this assassin did this mission. idk feels cool to do it how the og did.
And we play Alexios (Kassandra) because they are a descendant of the Isu Bloodline through Pythagoras which is why Layla chose them to find Isu Artifacts before Abstergo does and she got to Alexios through the Book of Herodotos and the Spear, the Spear containing the DNA of Alexios
So all in all the game is trying to display the beginnings of the Templars and the search for Isu Artifacts through Alexios (Kassandra)
If I remember correctly…other players in Unity’s co-op do get their face swapped out to look different from Arno, though it’s only relative to each player
Each person is Arno from their perspective, but the other three will have different faces along with whatever robes and armor they’re wearing
Dude is literally my fav yter at this point
Ya the renovated buildings should return because it's so stressful trying to get money
Really funny to me that your first comment is exactly what I was thinking while re-playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. :) I really think these tombs were awesome and should come back. Also agree with many other of your comments.
I'm glad that they brought hidden blade combat back in Shadows in the tanto style 🙏🏽
The one feature that i REALLY want to return, is the Assassin Recruits
That feature (to me at least) makes Brotherhood, Revelations, and 3 even better games than they already are. It may make the game too easy, but i just want to fight alongside my allies during free roam and some missions too
And hot take: i actually really
liked AC3's recruits and how the they are actually fixed characters that each of them have their own unique abilities and stories. I have to admit though, even their design is great for blending in plain sight, i kinda want to see them in Assassin Robes too (maybe being able to customize their clothing to wear assassin outfit or citizen clothing would be great)
That tesco reference made me laugh, especially because I am currently at work at tesco. 😂
I so much agree with almost everything you said! Personally i really really want the return of hidden blade combat. Great video btw😀😀!!!!
Thank you!
You actually forgot to mention that Assassin's Creed Origins, and I do agree that the hidden blade combat NEEDS to return. Overall, good video 👍
Bomb crafting was my favorite feature from revelations and till this day i am still sour about it never making a return.
man...imagine an assassin's creed game with ezio's tomb missions, conner's hidden blade combat system, and arno's parkour and stealth system
Great points, and great video man.
Appreciate it!
Hidden blade combat should come back, that was my favorite part of black flag, Rogue, Ac 3, and liberations.
Plz can you make an outfit tier list including dlc and chronicles
I believe I have already made something like that multiple times
-best oufits in every ac game
-best special outfits
-ranking signature outfits
@@TheHiddenOne690 yeah I mean there main outfit and you didn't really include everyone I know ure busy it's just an idea
I would like to be able beat up enemies with brooms again. Also the spear throw was awesome
Legacy outfits, all of them. I just want to play and feel nostalgic at the same time
Another thing they need to bring back is being able to run on the wire crossings. I miss being able to do that. Slugging across ropes and shit like that sucks. And also yes, they need to bring back decending parkour in unity.
They had multiple good settings for multiplayer after unity
-Syndicate already had the two players, could’ve made missions where they can be played with another person or regular
-Valhalla imagine raiding places with some friends and they could have much larger raids (like a stronghold) that give special things
Honestly, if they just took away the health bars and brought back the freeflow combat, the last few games would have been less frustrating. The only games that did healthbars in a somewhat tolerable way were the Ezio games, III, and Unity.
I hope to see some short side wall runs in the future
Gotta love the hidden one ❤️😹😁
An improved version of Unity's gear / outfit customisation would be dope
Really agree with you with no.4 and no.5
Okay, most of these are good, but, we are a BIG disagree on the 100% sync objectives. But other than that, fairly good list, and i agree with most of these.
Give me the option of having the AC2 controls when parkoring vs the newer controls. Personally I'd take the AC2 controls 100% of the time.
Ezio trilogy marked such a beautiful time in my life
Better lip syncing and better animations is one thing I'd like. Ubisoft did pretty well with avatars facial animation but assassins creed facial animations have got worse
It's sad that Rouge was the last AC game were you could pull out your hidden blades and walk around with them
Imagine a storyline that reveals that Hydra is an offshoot of the Templars. MCU and AC could be part of the same world.
