😀Hello Beautiful Humans! ❤ Hope you are enjoying my reactions. If you have a minute, please do check out my latest cover: GLIMPSE OF US (Joji) ON MY MUSIC CHANNEL → ua-cam.com/video/QIhnaw6SIzI/v-deo.html THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
For your info, this song was originally recorded in 1913. The Home Free version is the best I've ever heard, period. And I'm 73 and a lifelong country-bluegrass fan. I've heard it done by dozens of singers and bands over the years.
It was written (probably) in 1913 by Dick Burnett (although he couldn't remember if it was original or he heard it from someone else!) The first recording (probably an outgrowth of the Bristol Sessions) wasn't until 1928 -- by Emry Arthur.
Sir, if I may ask, would you mind sharing your stories in UA-cam videos? You would have an instant subscriber. We're about to lose a neighbor in a few months, and he is 75 with some impressive stories and unique perspectives from when 'golden oldies' came out. Would absolutely love to learn about what you know (it's why I love talking to older folks).
Any other Home Fries crack up when she asked us to tell her who was laying down the bass line? lol. I was just like, oh.... you’ll know soon enough. Lmbo.
Welcome to Home Free. I have been to 6 of their concerts and Tim Foust, the bass, makes your body and chair vibrate with his low notes. I have heard them do this song live and they really do all the sounds with their mouth. They have a UA-cam channel and they have schedules more concerts. Love your reaction.
Tim Foust (bass) is from Texas, Austin Brown (high tenor) is from Georgia, Adam Chance (Baritone) is from Alabama, Adam Rupp (Percussionist) and Rob Lundquist (tenor) are both from Minnesota, where the group originated. The singers all take turns singing lead, but Austin sang lead on this song, while Chance made the juice harp sound, and Adam was the train whistle, the harmonica, and the drums. Nice reaction. ... Guy
@@jbo4547 he was just another tenor-type. He was replaced by Adam Chance, but he can not go as deep as Adam Chance. Lookup Home Free Sing Off performances and you can see them all in one video.
Nice choice. Home Free is an amazing acapella group, in country, pop and gospel. You can check How Great Thou Art, In the Blood, Friends in Low Places or Pop Medley. Stay safe
Welcome New Home Fry! You have just scratched the surface of Home Free....lol. Will be interesting watching your journey...pick any song and they rock it...
Adam Rupp, the vocal percussionist, has an inhuman ability to vocally mimic instruments. There's a video on UA-cam of a live performance with a LOOOONNNNGGG percussion solo, all vocal! He's amazing!
Here is a video from Mid 2019. This was the last time he did his full 11 minute solo before cutting it down for future shows. ua-cam.com/video/2PsgJJpxWYU/v-deo.html
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! We “Home Fries” fell in years ago. I recommend their versions of Mayday, Ring of Fire, and How Great Thou Art to cut your teeth on. The bass is Tim Foust, the beat boxer/human harmonica is Adam Rupp, Austin Brown did lead tenor with Rob “the Beard” Lundquist backing him up. Adam Chance did the crazy throat singing and has a silky baritone voice.
Actually, that mouth harp at the beginning and the end wasm't the beat boxer; that was baritone Adam Chance. He can assist with background sounds occasionally. Check out American Pie with Don Maclean......and Ring of Fire. If you like R & B....try End of the Road.
Mark it down. At 2:12 into her reaction, she fell in love with Austin, then she met Tim and never looked back. 😉 (Austin was the lead guy and Tim is the bass singer) In all seriousness, there are so many good ones to check out. Their covers of End of the Road, Can't Stop This Feeling, All About That Bass, the Butts Remix. Then there is their gospel, How Great Thou Art, Amazing Grace, Go Rest High on That Mountain. So many!! Just in the rabbit hole and enjoy!!
Pentatonix is a great acapella group but Home Free is the best on the planet. Tim Foust the bass can drop two octaves lower than most men can sing. Adam's beat boxing is respected all over the business. These guys produce cover songs of classic rock, classic pop, gospel, Christmas, R&B, and of course country. Keep at it with their massive song list.
Lead tenor is Austin, 2nd tenor is Rob (with the glasses), Chance (back left) was the one doing the jaw harp sound, and he doubles on bass, when the bass sings lead. Adam Rupp is the beat boxers extraordinaire, and Tim Foust is the bass with one of the biggest ranges in the business. You can see him go much lower in their new “Folsom Prison Blues”. P.s. you’re a Home Fry now (what their fans are called)!
Welcome to Home Free! Try their original Catch Me if You Canor Timeless. Their covers of Can't Stop the Feeling, Do You Hear What I Hear. Medley/mashups The Butts Remix, Country Fried Pop Medley, Hunter Hayes Medley and Woman Amen/Female. There are so many to go for and you can't go wrong with anything you choose. I enjoyed your reaction and am looking forward to more! ^_^
You’ve just scratched the surface. Home Free has one of the best beat boxers in the world, one of the best basses, and well, pretty much everything they touch is gold. Tim Foust, the bass has been known to blow speakers at concerts with his low notes. And Adam Rupp, the beat boxer has a video on UA-cam of him doing a 7 minute drum solo with just his mouth.
The center guy is Austin, he is a sky high tenor. Second guy that sang was Rob lead tenor. Tim is the bass, but you haven't even heard his low notes. Adam is the beatboxer. And then there is Chance who sings baritone, and bass when Tim sings a lead.
Tim is the bass in the group. Yes, the beatboxer was making the harmonica sound, no instruments were used. If you want an even better look at Tim's low notes, check out their cover of "Ring of Fire" with Avi Kaplan from Pentatonix. They are on FIRE!
I almost didn't want to watch this version thinking nobody could be as good as the original version, boy was I surprised!! Every sound is made by their mouths!! My god!!! This is now my favorite version!!!!! UNREAL!!!!!
Definitely check out their “Country Fried Pop Medley “, it’s tons of fun! And yes, it’s all vocals, including the harmonica and mouth harp! Names: From left to right, Rob Lundquist (Minnesota), Adam Chance (Alabama), Austin Brown (Georgia), Adam Rupp (Minnesota), and Tim Foust (Texas).
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! You're in for a fantastic journey!! Prepare for a flood of Home Fries (Home Free's fan base nickname). New subscriber. Keep the Home Free Home Fry home fires burnin'!!!
@@SchnellJordan I'm there!! BTW -- since you asked about the holidays know that Home Free does a lot of holiday music. My all time favorite tour de force is Adam Rupp's setting of "Do You Hear What I Hear". The official video was filmed in my home town of Eden Prairie, MN not far from my home. It was -20F in an ice castle so when you see their breath, yes, they were actually very cold when they filmed the video! Amazing sounds, incredible arrangement, and quintessential Tim Foust depth charges. Enjoy!
Adam Rupp is the “Harmonica” player… I think he’s a robot. There are a couple of videos of him playing the drums (without a drum kit) amazing. Tim Foust is the base singer, he’s at least part Dragon. There are a couple of clips in live performances where he blows the subwoofer in the speaker. I call it the reverse of the Opera Singer shattering the wine glass, He does a duet with Peter Hollens singing “Misty Mountain” the song from the Hobbit Movies well worth your time. The rest of the group are just as ridiculously talented. “How Great Thou Art” will bring tears to your eyes even if you’ve never set foot in a church. My personal favorite (aside of Man of Constant Sorrow) is “Seven Bridges Road”. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole.
Misty Mountain really showcases Tim's voice, and the duet with Hollens is very well done. I have a special place in my heart for the song since I adore the Hobbit movie.
The cover of Seven Bridges Road is epic, in part because it's a song built on harmonies. I so want to hear and see what they do if they ever tackle the greatest harmonies group in pop music history. The Beach Boys.
"Man of Constant Sorrow" (also known as "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow") is a traditional American folk song first published by Dick Burnett, a partially blind fiddler from Kentucky. The song was originally titled "Farewell Song" in a songbook by Burnett dated to around 1913. An early version was recorded by Emry Arthur in 1928, which gave the song its current titles.
I really enjoyed your truly honest, and expressive reaction. These here fellers are, Tim (bass singer) from south-east Texas, Chance (baritone) from eastern shore Mobile Bay, Alabama, Austin (tenor) from south Georgia, the other two, Rob (harmony tenor) and Adam (beat box) are from Minnesota. This video was shot in a light rain, near Chance's hometown of Fairhope, Alabama and the nearby swamp on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay. Lots of hungry "gators" there.
Awesome reaction young lady !! I always get a kick out of "first time hearing" Home free - they are ... Amazing is an understatement - incredible - everything they have done is top notch - I can't wait to see you become a " home fry" lol !
Home Free is an American a cappella group of five vocalists, Austin Brown, Rob Lundquist, Adam Rupp, Tim Foust, and Adam Chance. Starting as a show group, they toured around 200 shows a year across the United States. The group competed in and won the fourth season of The Sing-Off on NBC in 2013. They sang an arrangement of Hunter Hayes' "I Want Crazy," as their final competitive song, earning the group $100,000 and a recording contract with Sony. Home Free released their first album under a major label, Crazy Life, on February 18, 2014. It was released digitally on January 14, 2014. All five of Home Free’s singers have formal musical training. Lundquist and the Rupp brothers all have bachelor's degrees in music. Adam Rupp's primary instrument is trumpet, but he also plays drums, keyboard, and bass guitar. Since joining, Foust and Brown have also become very active in writing and arranging. In terms of musical roles, Home Free is structured like a traditional barbershop quartet, with a lead tenor, two harmony voices, and a bass. The lead tenor, who fronts the group and sings most of the solos, is Austin Brown. Tenor harmony is sung by Rob Lundquist, baritone harmony is sung by Adam Chance, and Tim Foust sings bass, with the latter two switching roles occasionally. In addition to the four voices, percussion sounds are provided by beatboxer Adam Rupp. Although Brown is Home Free’s primary soloist, all of the other members occasionally sing solos as well. Home Free’s styling as a country group is relatively recent. Before Foust joined the group, Home Free was an all-purpose a cappella group, singing in a wide variety of styles, of which country was only a minor one. With the additions of Foust and Brown, the group moved more in the direction of country and found that audiences responded well to it. Home Free had auditioned three times for The Sing-Off (without Foust and Brown) and not been accepted. When auditioning for the fourth season, they made a conscious decision to style themselves as a country group. In an interview Brown said this identity is what grabbed the attention of The Sing-Off’s casting director, who said, “You guys really fit something we don’t have.”
Morning Schnell hope you have an awesome day. You're going to love these guys must react to the cover of Boyz II Men End of the Road you'll love that one too
Allright y'all! Looks like we got us a new Home Fry! :D Some of their greats to check out: -Ring of Fire (feat. Avi Kaplan) -End of the Road -Mayday -How Great Thou Art -Go Rest High on That Mountain -Can't Stop The Feeling
Hi there!!!! New Subscriber!! One of the many you will be getting now. I don't guess I have a favorite holiday season. Holidays are busy at work and Christmas is mandatory. So I don't look forward to it. Welcome to your journey down the Rabbit Hole that is the Home Free channel. I'll just go ahead and repeat what many others have said when it comes to Tim's bass, YOU HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING YET!! My recommendations will be "Elvira" and "How Great Thou Art". Can't wait to see what comes next. :)
Christmas is great but more partial to Thanksgiving. HOME FREE is a rabbit hole you're going to LOVE to go down, your ears will love you for it. The lead singer was the high tenor, Austin Brown, the far left glasses & beard is Rob Lundquist, their regular tenor, the beatboxer is Adam Rupp (aka The Freak of Nature) who is 2 time World Champion beatboxer, Tim Foust is the bass and he can go as low as a G1.....and has blown out speakers before at concerts LOL, and Adam Chance, but called Chance to avoid confusion with the beatboxer. They ae amazing and have a country side but also have done a lot of other genres of music. React next to their cover Thomas Rhett's "Die a Happy Man" it's very romantic & beautiful. Trust me you'll love it
Home Free is the "other" group that is rewriting the book on a capella worldwide. For Home Free, may I recommend their "Ring of Fire" (Johnny Cash), and my favorite, "Helplessly Hoping" (Crosby, Stills & Nash) (and then a quarantined Italian Youth Choir's cover of Home Free's arrangement) and all the rest of the suggestions. They are all great.
I’ve watched hundreds of reactions to this band and yours is by far my favorite! The look on your face when Tim started his solo was priceless! Home Free is unlike any a cappella band you’ll ever hear. They do mostly covers but also have some original material. You are now a home fry wether you realize it or not and you’ll have plenty of songs to fangirl to. My church, helplessly hoping, auld Lang syne, how great thou art, Folsom prison blues, blue ain’t your color, in the blood and mayday are some of my faves...enjoy!!
Love your reaction. Love Home Free....New subscriber. They really are great. During this pandemic they've been releasing a new video every other Friday. They've done about 12 now. All from their own homes...they send in their parts for editing. It's really amazing how they do it. Next new video will be Oct. the ninth I think. Everything is different genre's. They're a fun group but can also be very serious. The last video they released was last Friday called Folsom Prison Blues. Thanks for a great reaction. God bless and stay safe
As a crocheter, I LOVE that you use your beautiful chevron Afghan as a decoration. So much work (and probably love) was put into making it, and I love that you show it.
Decades ago I was delighted to hear an artist use a blade of grass as a reed. It wore out quickly, but it sounded like a harmonica. I am very happy to believe that this folk art has not died.
@@Ididnotwanttojoin You only gave it one listen? That's not enough to fully hear a Home Free song, no matter if you like it or not. The ongoing train in the background, the high whistles throughout, the sound effects, the harmonies, the sound effects, and in the middle of it lays the song. In focus, true to Johnny Cash. It's pure brilliance. And then it's the video and their characters, especially Adam's. There's never been a song by these guys I did not learn to appreciate and enjoy even if I didn't like it at first. Sometimes it just takes a bit more time and engagement. And while I might not learn to love those songs and choose to listen to them, I thoroughly enjoy them when I hear them. But sometimes the love shows up. Not everything in life comes from instant gratification. Very few things do, actually. 😁😉
@@Ididnotwanttojoin I kinda liked FPB the first time I watched it, but then I watched reactions to it and the more I heard it, the more I loved it. But, I'm with you about some of their last few releases I wasn't a fan of. I love the guys and always admire their talent, so if I didn't like it, it was the song, not the guys.
Peter Hollens Misty Mountains w/ Tim Foust. Peter Hollens God Only Knows with Tim and their wives. Also, if you want to do a double of one song do their older version of God Bless the U.S.A. and the new version with Lee Greenwood and the U.S. Air Force Singing Sargents.
....and How Great Thou Art, Colder Weather, Go Rest High on That Mountain. Matter of fact....just check out everything the do. Just released Folsom Prison Blues last week.😉
Omg I loved your reaction! Fangirl all you want, they are worthy. I have tickets to see them for this past Saturday but of course everything is on hold. 😭 Tim Faust is the (sexy) bass, Adam Rupp beatboxer (vocal percussionist), Austin Brown high tenor, dark beard is Rob Lundquist tenor, and Adam Chance baritone. I'm so happy you enjoy these guys so we get to see lots more reactions. I would recommend Helplessly Hoping or Fishin' in The Dark/Boondocks mashup. Also, my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because every year after dinner our whole family (adults and children) go walking in the woods for a couple hours. All the trees in full autumn colors and it's such a great time spent together. 💕
Hi Chrissy! They're sooo good! I hope you can get to see them once everything gets back to normal! Hopefully I can enjoy their concert by then as well :) Aww I love Fall too. It's my favorite season
Hello Schnell and Chrissy! I don't know how you can possibly dig through all these wonderful Home Free recommendations but I want to 2nd Chrissy's suggestion for "Helplessly Hoping". It's a cover of the haunting Crosby, Stills, and Nash song from 1969 (clearly before your time, but worthy). It's a bit different for Home Free in that it's a very pure vocal performance without the beatboxing element from Adam. He joins in on the 5-part harmony. Every time I hear the song, it takes me days to get the melody out of my head. I did have the pleasure of attending a live concert by Home Free before all the craziness set in and it was amazing. I believe performing live, at the same quality as their studio work, is the true test of any band, and their talent and hard work clearly shows through. Welcome to the wonderful world of Home Free music. Count me as a new subscriber!
Love listening to first time listeners, when they stop in the beginning and say something like, that base, and I'm sitting here going, baby you ain't heard nothin yet!
Thank you SO MUCH for recommending this song for a reaction! Don't forget to answer the question at the beginning of the video too. Love you all and have a great week ahead! :) Schnell xx
Yes, Home Free is totally acapella (well, except for some occasional foot stomps and hand claps). They just premiered a cover of Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues" on Friday; in it Tim Foust (their basso profundo) goes much lower than you heard him here. If you want to hear their pure harmonies, listen to "Helplessly Hoping" and "How Great Thou Art." The guys have great senses of humor too--try "Butts Remix," "9 to 5," and "Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget." But honestly listen to anything they've done--you can't go wrong.
Break out your best set of headphones when listening to HF, Pentatonix, and VoicePlay. The basses in these groups can hit notes that low-medium grade equipment can't reproduce! If you don't have a high quality set of 'phones, STOP and make the investment before exploring these groups further. There's so much going on in their performances that you need high quality gear to enjoy it all.
Voiceplay is another group you will like as well, their boy band medley would be a good introduction to them! Home frees mayday cover is also a good one to listen to.
*Tim Faust is the basso profundo, but has a five octave range. You'll hear it all, if you watch more. From south east Texas. *Austin Brown is the lead guy in the middle. Tenor/high tenor with great ability to emote. From small town Georgia. He used that here, but can sing with no accent purity. *Rob Lundquist is the guy with overalls. Tenor with pure sound and great sound making abilities including a mean whistle. From Minnesota and you hear that difference from Austin's Georgia. AdamChance (goes by Chance as to not confuse with beatboxer) is behind Rob. Chance sings baritone and base. Was primary bass in a prior group. Did the jaw harp twanging sound here. Doesn't get enough recognition for being glue for the harmonies, IMHO. All the guys have taken or shared the lead on various songs as appropriate. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer and last original, founding member.(Adam Chance replaced his brother, who you'll see in other earlier videos) Austin has won beatbox championships. He also has a beautiful singing voice. Watch How Great Thou Art to hear it. Home Free fans are called Home Fries. Dive in and listen. You're about to get deep fried. 😁 ***Edited for correction of Adam Chance's name. Don't type comments when people are talking to you. 😬)
OOOh, yesss, that one is just breathtakingly beautiful! But, if you're looking for more of a fun holiday tune, try their video for "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer." I think that, while yeah, their voices are fantastic and the song is extremely well done, the visual antics just add sooo muuuch enjoyment to the whole thing. I have to watch it several times to see what each of them is doing, because they're ALL just going nuts with it, and it's just so clear that they're having a real blast doing that video. It makes my face hurt from grinning and smiling so much, watching it.
Hi Schnell. 😇❤️ Any holiday that involves hot sun, water and a boat. Lol Great reaction to the boys Home Free. You would seriously love Home Free Ring of Fire 🔥. Have a great week girl. 😇🙏❤️❤️❤️
Doug, when you mentioned hot sun, water and a boat I thought you were going to suggest their cover of Can't Stop The Feeling, lol. Maybe Schnell can check that one out after Ring Of Fire.
think the same : I'd like to see her reaction to "Butts Remix". Those guys are extremly good, but they can be ridiculously funny also. We never come back from the Home Free rabit hole :)
Loved your reaction Schnell. I think you tapped into my last playlist that I put together for my last family get together. I had your cover of Wonderwall, which everyone loved, and I had this awesome cover by Home Free on the playlist. I am rooting for you to get to 10k subscribers very soon since you are great with your reactions. Everyone needs to check out your beautiful voice with the covers you have posted on your playlists and your new song each Wednesday.
You are a blast to watch as you react and are moved by music. Home Free and Geoff Castellucci are two of my favorite artists you cover, as well as Disturbed's cover of Sounds of Silence (voice matching lyrics) has completely taken one of my favorites 60's songs and made it even better. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Old soldier here. Keep evaluating. You are probably one of the most beautiful ladies I have ever seen. Fan here
I'm sure everyone is probably telling you 'Ring of Fire', because it has Pentatonix's bassist Avi in it. I'll just add that you might want to buckle your seat belt. B^) ........ P.S. - My favorite Home Free song is actually 'How Great Thou Art', because it was my favorite childhood song, and they do it great.
Your reaction was priceless... but much like others who hear Home Free for the first time. They are incredible singers with a sizable repertoire. You can listen to just about anything they perform and be impressed. Happy listening!!! I look forward to more of your reactions.
If you like acapella, you will love Home Free! They're amazing. Home Free and Pentatonix are the "Gold Standard" of acapella music, with Home Free being mainly Country/Folk oriented and PTX being mainly Pop/Club/EDM oriented. They're both first rate at what they do. So many great songs to choose from. "How Great Thou Art" is one you shouldn't miss, and I love "Dive Bar Saints" from their originals album. Some of their "fun" songs that you ought to check out are "Hillbilly Bone", "Butts Remix", and "Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget". But seriously, you could throw a dart at their songlist and you won't go wrong. It's all good.
Excellent reaction! :) I'm sure other Fries will suggest plenty of their impressive repertoire. I'd like to suggest two of their sillier songs, Champagne Taste and The Butts Remix.
Schnell Jordan, the bass here is Tim Foust, and VoicePlay’s bass is Geoff Castellucci. Both of them have about a five-octave range! In their “Little Mermaid Medley,” Geoff does a slide from D5 straight down to D2 with a subharmonic D1.
You would very much enjoy all of their Sing Off performances, including the great version of the Christmas classic 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' which they did backing Jewel (who was a judge on the show).
This group and Angelina Jordan are the two groups I've discovered by watching reaction videos on youtube. So far I've been impressed by everything I've heard by Home Free. The other recommendations on here have been great. If you want something other than a cover, check out Champagne Taste, and Quarantine. Although anything you listen to by Home Free will be impressive. At least so far I've always been impressed by them.
Schnell, I watch a whole lot of reaction channels. This is one of my favorite song to watch people react to. I'll throw a list down below of what will get you good views and you'll be stunned to hear. Most of these artists have a cult like following who love watching reactions. We can start with Jinjer the songs are; Pisces Perennial Nightwish songs; also Floor Jansen (Nightwish lead singer atm) Ghost love score Phantom of the opera with Henk Poort Chris Klafford; Ocean eyes Broken Halo's NF How could you leave us These will bring a lot of fans who will broaden you further. I hope you take my advice and good luck.
I absolutely love watching new people listen to Home Free and watch their reactions! So glad I came across your video and your reaction! Welcome to the Home Fry family!
New subscriber. I loved your reaction! Keep the Home Free songs coming, their catalogue is very deep (they’ve been around for 20 years), they’re most well-known since winning the Sing Off season 4 with four of the members you see here and Chris Rupp (Adam’s brother) who were original members. When Chris left to pursue a solo path he hand-picked (Adam) Chance to replace himself. You can see Chance in their House Party video as a guest in the white bathrobe (also featured in a couple other videos, most notably Can’t Stop the Feeling, which is a must). As mentioned during this quarantine season they’ve been putting out a new song every 2 weeks (sung in their own homes/neighbourhoods in 3 different States)!!! So many great songs just this year alone. From serious to hilarious and everything in-between. You cannot go wrong with Home Free covers, which they make their own, I’d strongly suggest: Country Roads, End of the Road, Blue Ain’t Your Color and their newest, Folsom Prison Blues). Their originals are also fantastic: Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget w. a cameo from Avi Kaplan(!), Dive Bar Saints, Love Me Like That and Catch Me If You Can. There are so, so many more to explore.
It's probably worth noting that Chris Rupp has a new (well, relatively new) group, 7th Ave, with him and his (and Adam the beatboxer's) sister Kristin and a couple of other folks. They're definitely worth giving a listen to!
Schnell great reaction again. You definitely need to checkout Ring of fire by Home Free featuring Avi Kaplan. Tim Foust and Avi Kaplan is a bass lover’s dream.
You need to spend the next week listening to all of their songs. I think their harmonies are hands down the best of all Acapella groups. I even prefer them to Pentatonix, since I believe not just their harmonies, but their ability to sound like instruments puts them just above Pentatonix. They do tend to do more Country/Gospel songs but have a few pop medleys as well.
I think both groups are tops at what they do. Pentatonix' vocal precision and dexterity in Bohemian Rhapsody and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies are examples of the very best.
If you like them.. you should check "Mayday" by Home free and see Tim Foust going tenor and Chance doing the bass line. Tim Foust is one of the best bass with Avi Kaplan.
Hey! Thanks for checking out Home Free! They are fantastic! There is so much waiting for you! My favorite season is fall, but my favorite Hoiday is Easter.
They are amazing! Enjoy going down the Home Free rabbit hole! I found them back in February and consumed everything they have ever done during the shut down in March and April. They are now all I listen to for the most part. Austin Brown (the one singing the lead for most of this song - in the middle) is my all time favorite singer now!!
I found it really funny during Tim's (the bass) verse, you asked, "What note is that?", because at the end of his line when everyone else comes back in, he drops down another octave to sing that part. It often gets missed but if you go back and listen to it, you will never be able to un-hear it again.
The beatboxer/ percussion specialist/noise guy, Adam Rupp, is not human. He's an alien who swallowed a drum set. Some say he can't speak regular language, he communicates through sound effects and the other group members can understand him. Yes, he doesn't play a harmonica. Neither does Austin (the main singer in this piece) and they have non-harmonica contests with each other. This group has a number of humorous pieces and I'll bet you'd enjoy "Champaign Taste". After that you'll thank yourself A LOT to hear them sing "Auld Lang Syne". They do it beautifully.
If you are loving the deep notes, my man tim is a legend. Check out their cover of Ring of Fire with Avi Kaplan. That song shows off the two best basses in music.
@@SchnellJordan wait till see them live, a whole other level! They have hundreds of music clips on their UA-cam channel. I'll break what I assume are the common suggestions, and recommend their most recent release, a cover of Johnny Cash's Fulsom Prison Blues. As well as an incredible arrangement, realise this was recorded and filmed in quarantine conditions, so each, individually, and then put together. Oh, and hello from Australia 🇦🇺
I know you have listened to lots of Home free since, but I just found your FIRST reaction to them. This is one of my favorite reactions of all time!! I was already subscribed based on your more recent reactions. I'm glad I 'uncovered' this one from 2020!! You're great!!
They have many great covers you will no doubt “fan girl” on for days. Can’t wait to watch your reactions and congrats on becoming a “home fry” . Ring of fire and Folsom prison blues will get you going.
Christmas is the hardest time for me .. but it is also my favorite time of year ... Home Free and Pentatonix are the best acapella groups ... enjoy ! thanks for this reaction Schnell . . you make my day ... Tim Foust is the amazing low night guy ...
The bass is Tim Foust. Your next reaction needs to be them singing RING OF FIRE with Pentatonix's Avi Kaplin. Two basses on the same video. Tim ends the song on an F1...
😀Hello Beautiful Humans! ❤ Hope you are enjoying my reactions. If you have a minute, please do check out my latest cover: GLIMPSE OF US (Joji) ON MY MUSIC CHANNEL → ua-cam.com/video/QIhnaw6SIzI/v-deo.html
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Lol every female that did a reaction to this song loved the bass singer. I gotta practice my barry white lol.
He is singing in "F"
So what part of the Caribbean are you from?
For your info, this song was originally recorded in 1913. The Home Free version is the best I've ever heard, period. And I'm 73 and a lifelong country-bluegrass fan. I've heard it done by dozens of singers and bands over the years.
It was written (probably) in 1913 by Dick Burnett (although he couldn't remember if it was original or he heard it from someone else!) The first recording (probably an outgrowth of the Bristol Sessions) wasn't until 1928 -- by Emry Arthur.
I am 73 and I've heard this song by different groups. This is by far the best arrangement
It is a great cover but I'll always love the version that everyone knows
Sir, if I may ask, would you mind sharing your stories in UA-cam videos? You would have an instant subscriber. i think it is technically speaking, the best version but bob dylan’s is my personal favourite
Any other Home Fries crack up when she asked us to tell her who was laying down the bass line? lol. I was just like, oh.... you’ll know soon enough. Lmbo.
Yeah, I was, "Just you wait, girl!" She was about to say something on Adam's harmonica when Tim came in with his solos lines.
Samesies!
I've watched half a dozen reaction videos this afternoon, and each time the reaction when he cuts loose with his solo is almost sexual.
Yup! Wait for it..... 🤣🤣🤣
I've watched so many reactions to this song done by them and most freak out over the bass line. Its so funny! lol
One of the best reactions to this performance! Thanks!!
Nice reaction. ... Guy
I wonder if Chris regrets leaving the band? It seems like they have really done well since then.
@@JoeBoone82 which part was he? Like bass, percussion, tenor, sounds effects, etc
@@jbo4547 he was just another tenor-type. He was replaced by Adam Chance, but he can not go as deep as Adam Chance. Lookup Home Free Sing Off performances and you can see them all in one video.
I loved the shock factor on your face, it's great watching people see great music for the first time.
Here's a link to the newest drum solo by adam rupp from Home Free. ua-cam.com/video/LUSvD2c-y2M/v-deo.html
@@jameswebb4357 Some of us are old enough we fell into all the Aca rabbit holes on the the NBC competition.
(Austin was the lead guy and Tim is the bass singer)
In all seriousness, there are so many good ones to check out. Their covers of End of the Road, Can't Stop This Feeling, All About That Bass, the Butts Remix. Then there is their gospel, How Great Thou Art, Amazing Grace, Go Rest High on That Mountain. So many!! Just in the rabbit hole and enjoy!!
she looked back a little.. @6:31
For me its between homefree and voiceplay. Gotta give props to Geoff the bass of voiceplay for writing several arrangements that homefree uses
@@michaelnielson3978 I’m v late but i hands down agree. VoicePlay and Home Free are my favorite groups.
The OG Pentatonix > all.
Not so fast Daniel...Have you heard of Take 6?
Lead tenor is Austin, 2nd tenor is Rob (with the glasses), Chance (back left) was the one doing the jaw harp sound, and he doubles on bass, when the bass sings lead. Adam Rupp is the beat boxers extraordinaire, and Tim Foust is the bass with one of the biggest ranges in the business. You can see him go much lower in their new “Folsom Prison Blues”. P.s. you’re a Home Fry now (what their fans are called)!
The low note is Tim Foust with a range from A0 .to E5..
whoa!!
Actually his lowest note is B0 the A0 was Adam Rupps throat bass
TheGlizzyGoober ...B0 is low as well, but every singer is singing inside his comfort zone and can singing way outside...
Actually, Tim has hit G1 especially on Ring of Fire !
F5
Welcome to Home Free! Try their original Catch Me if You Canor Timeless. Their covers of Can't Stop the Feeling, Do You Hear What I Hear. Medley/mashups The Butts Remix, Country Fried Pop Medley, Hunter Hayes Medley and Woman Amen/Female. There are so many to go for and you can't go wrong with anything you choose. I enjoyed your reaction and am looking forward to more! ^_^
If you want a couple of their fun songs try The butts remix and Hillbilly bone
Adorable reaction! I can't believe you know Sawyer. He was so impressive.
Thanks Patrick!! 😊 I still get goosebumps when I hear Sawyer’s performance on the voice
Oh, you've done fell down a rabbit hole now, hahha, enjoy, darlin'.
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! You're in for a fantastic journey!! Prepare for a flood of Home Fries (Home Free's fan base nickname). New subscriber. Keep the Home Free Home Fry home fires burnin'!!!
I cannot wait to explore more of their music!! 😍
They did a cover of "Try Everything" from the movie "Zootopia", and at the end, they said it was for their "Small Fries".
Enjoy!
I was surprised that Tim's low notes didn't break the ice! 😉
@@steveray9655 Well, after all, he's broken ceiling tiles before, as well as blowing subwoofers. Why not ice, too, right?
Love your reaction. There are a lot of Home Free tunes.
Yeah, he has to be a dragon with all this firebreathing. :P
Agreed about their version of How Great Thou Art.
The cover of Seven Bridges Road is epic, in part because it's a song built on harmonies. I so want to hear and see what they do if they ever tackle the greatest harmonies group in pop music history.
The Beach Boys.
Pretty sure Tim swallowed a subwoofer at some point
"Man of Constant Sorrow" (also known as "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow") is a traditional American folk song first published by Dick Burnett, a partially blind fiddler from Kentucky. The song was originally titled "Farewell Song" in a songbook by Burnett dated to around 1913. An early version was recorded by Emry Arthur in 1928, which gave the song its current titles.
the song also featured in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou"
I really enjoyed your truly honest, and expressive reaction. These here fellers are, Tim (bass singer) from south-east Texas, Chance (baritone) from eastern shore Mobile Bay, Alabama, Austin (tenor) from south Georgia, the other two, Rob (harmony tenor) and Adam (beat box) are from Minnesota. This video was shot in a light rain, near Chance's hometown of Fairhope, Alabama and the nearby swamp on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay. Lots of hungry "gators" there.
Bill, my nephew was married at the location where they were singing. Two years ago.
Thanks for the Home Free! You will have a new favorite group after you dive into them...
I'm a pentaholic and I consider these guys right up there. Great reaction. Another good video by them is "ring of fire "
watched again and the sheer disbelief of what you was listening to was priceless! You keep entertaining me!
peace
Awesome reaction young lady !! I always get a kick out of "first time hearing" Home free - they are ... Amazing is an understatement - incredible - everything they have done is top notch - I can't wait to see you become a " home fry" lol !
Proud home fry here
Home Free is an American a cappella group of five vocalists, Austin Brown, Rob Lundquist, Adam Rupp, Tim Foust, and Adam Chance.

-End of the Road
-Mayday
-How Great Thou Art
-Go Rest High on That Mountain
-Can't Stop The Feeling
Trust me you'll love it
Great reaction. We're all freaked out as well.
All their "instrument playing" was done through their voices. They are an A Capella band.
Tim is the absolute best bass singer bar none
Decades ago I was delighted to hear an artist use a blade of grass as a reed. It wore out quickly, but it sounded like a harmonica. I am very happy to believe that this folk art has not died.
We still do it in the backwoods. Its just not well known
They just released a Johnny Cash cover of "Folsom Prison Blues" you should definitely check out. It's fantastic!
I like Ring of Fire a lot more ...
@@jonchicoine I don't, and it was the song that first made me a fan.
YES....FPB is an awesome song by Home Free. One to definitely check out...and Tim's voice doesn't disappoint 😊😊
They are a country A Capella group that won the Sing Off the season after Pentatonix. React to their version of My Church.
Would also recommend Proud to be an American, they sing it with Lee Greenwood. Amazing stuff
....and How Great Thou Art, Colder Weather, Go Rest High on That Mountain. Matter of fact....just check out everything the do. Just released Folsom Prison Blues last week.😉
@@josephadams253 There are two versions of Proud to he an American. The newest one has Lee Greenwood.
@@josephadams253 the song 🎵 you are thinking of is God Bless The Usa. Excellent choice!
Elvira with the Oak Ridge Boys is pretty good too.
I loved how you were so amazed with the harmonica sounds and BAM, the base hit you. That was priceless.
Hopefully I can enjoy their concert by then as well :)
Aww I love Fall too.
I second all of the suggestions, especially Folsom Prison Blues!! New sub here... hope you'll check out more Home Free!
***Edited for correction of Adam Chance's name. Don't type comments when people are talking to you. 😬)
If you love the holidays and want to get a head start you could listen to Home Free's cover of "Do you hear what I hear", its great!

Loved your reaction Schnell. I think you tapped into my last playlist that I put together for my last family get together. I had your cover of Wonderwall, which everyone loved, and I had this awesome cover by Home Free on the playlist. Hi Andy! Aww thank you so much. I'm so happy they enjoyed it! Thank you so very much for your love and support always
Oh How Great Thou Art is incredible
End of the Road is a must as well.
I agree. How great thou art is absolutely amazing.
Best version of How Great Thou Art I’ve ever heard. That was my grandmother’s favorite hymn.
I agree with indie cab ,How Great Thou Art is
That has got to be the fastest 'Home Fry' convert I have ever seen. That bass is roughly 2 octaves above Tim's,(the Bass long hair), lowest notes.
"How Great Thou Art" is my favorite song by them! The scenery in the background combined with their amazing voices WILL make you cry!!
Excellent reaction! :)
I'm sure other Fries will suggest plenty of their impressive repertoire. I'd like to suggest two of their sillier songs, Champagne Taste and The Butts Remix.
Home Free - Home of the Free - America - Grows the best of everything. It Works, Lets keep it or die trying.
Between Home Free and Voiceplay (another a cappella band) you have some good reactions coming your way.
Thank you for the suggestion, James! Can't wait to explore more of their talent and music :)
Home Free. With this song they've turned me into a man of constant listening.
I do believe you are an official member of the "Home Fries" now lol!! Welcome!! Gotta listen to they're cover of Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire!
I'm going to see them in March!!! Hopefully it won't get cancelled.

Nightwish songs; also Floor Jansen (Nightwish lead singer atm)
Ghost love score
Phantom of the opera with Henk Poort
Chris Klafford;

A beautiful reaction by a beautiful lady. The song was great but your reaction was priceless. Thank you
These guys are amazing. Nite: they know how not to take things too seriously. See their Butts Remix for a ton of smiles!
I LOVE Sawyer Fredericks. Home Free is on another level.
“Ring of Fire”, “How great thou art”; “End of the road”
Anyway the wind blows
their How Great Thou Art is gorgeous, everything and more you could ever love about this song.
She might die when Tim hits 1#F in Ring of Fire...
She might die to the end of Misty Mountain with Peter feat. Tim Foust 😳
@@AaronnaPhiliou final chorus of End of the Road might do it too
You are a pure joy to watch on your reactions!
Schnell great reaction again. You definitely need to checkout Ring of fire by Home Free featuring Avi Kaplan. Tim Foust and Avi Kaplan is a bass lover’s dream.
"Oh my god, I'm fangirling already"... don't worry, that was my exact same thought too when I first heard Home Free. Word for word, I'm a dude.
@@sandrastorer5628 anything sounds good when done in a studio. Pent does that alot more than home free.
i have watched nearly 2000 reaction videos and this one is hands down my favorite. I could watch it over and over for hours.
Can't wait til you do Ring Of Fire :)
Listen to them singing Ring of Fire with Avi Kaplan from the pentatonix.
Hey... thank you for your review. Yes, this group really fucks you up because they are so good. Thanks again, your reaction was priceless.
If you are loving the deep notes, my man tim is a legend. Check out their cover of Ring of Fire with Avi Kaplan. That song shows off the two best basses in music.
You are such a beautiful soul. Being able to watch you and music is a true pleasure. Thank you for what you do.
Before seeing you react, I will already tell you to calm down over hearing their voices :)
A little too late my friend 😂🤭. They’re SO GOOD! Sheesh
Schnell: This is amazing!
Home Fries: YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET!
Actually it was a G1
He does hit an F#1 in the live Song-Off version.
Mayday and Seven Bridges Road as well as all the other ones suggested. Loved your reaction!
