The thing I like about this song is how the 2 bass singers are singing basically the same notes but the color and tone of their voices are so distinctly different... Avi's was such a smooth bass while Tim's was so gritty. Almost like the difference between an acoustic and an electric bass. That last low note of Tim's isn't even his lowest note. He hits subvocal notes (check out his "Your Man" cover to see what I mean. Both him and Avi have tortured sound systems and blown speakers in live shows, to the excitement of the audience.
The best your man performance by Tim in my opinion is the live version. He goes high, gets shit from Rob, then hits an insane low note and holds it into baby. The crowd generally goes wild for it.
First things first, your reaction is amazing, and your surprising chocks are fun :-) But, secondly, this is a very very very well proof what you can do with two worldclass basses. One bass is singing and the other is keeping that bass-line intact, and when Tim and Avi can change between them soooo smooth and constantly, it's perfection... At 2:39 (in this video) the bass for "desire" is amazing. The travel of the sound, and how the bass-ling progresses afterwards is exactly why both Tim and Avi are among the best basses in the world. And it's probably the easiest progression of the entire performance, but when done sooo well, it's just sound-gasm to my ears ;-)

Hola Schnell, love the channel! Keep up the good work! To answer your question: Favorite all time singer is John Denver. I love most music from the 1930's to the mid 90's. Keep discovering! Never stop. "Music makes pictures and often tells stories, all of it magic and all of it true, and all of the pictures and all of the stories, all of the magic: The Music is You!"---- John Denver.
That's Tim singing that final low note that excited you so!!! I've read that Tim & Avi have been working together so Avi can learn to use his lowest range as well!!! 😱🔥
I agree with the choice of Karen Carpenter-the only people that would choose someone else are people that haven’t heard Karen -just my biased opinion ❤️
You asked for our favorite artist of all time, well here goes. I have been playing and singing now for 71 years (yes since I was 6) Played in all genres but jazz and classical are my two loves. My favorite artist of all time would have to be Ella Fitzgerald. If you have not experienced her, you should.
Great song, great reaction. You really look happy to the core with this performance. I loved how you kept going back and replaying the most awesome portions. I’ve watched several female reactors to this song and they are all enthralled with those deep bass notes. I’m 75, and can’t possibly name a favorite singer or instrumentalist. I’m currently a BIG fan of Angelina Jordan. I’m also a big fan of Roseanne Cash and Allison Krause. Amongst current men Josh Groban is hard to beat. I could go on and on, I’ve still got 300 vinyl albums, more CD’s than I can count and access to infinite amounts of digital music.
I love youre reaction. So fun to see how the reaction is from them. My biggest cant be 1 becouse they are doing differnt things and helpt me througe struggels in my life..First is "Hep Star" and there singer Svenne Hedlund. His voice gets just better whit time. He is a loving friend. They started in the 1960's and Svenne is still going. He loves Elvis and have done 2 records just whit Elvis songs. He /they helpt me through my teenyears and also through my birth of my son!!! Then there is Jon Bon jovi dont thing I need to explaine. Then there is "Home Free". I found them in aboute 2017! They drew me back to life psycikly that is. I have hade a hard life with many healt problems. When I found them an al fans "Home Fries" they helpt me so mutch with start whanted to live again. Then this year "Dimash". I found him just when I started to gett really bad health whise. As the doctors saide...I shouldent be alive know!!!! Thats how bad I got. Onley Dimash voice got through to me and really draged my soul back to life. He is my good drug of life know. My anxiety attacks disappears fast when I hear his voice. Nothing ever have helpt like this whit thouse. So from dayes whit anxiety attacks they getts less then 5 min!!! So for know its Dimash. I can tell you you have no idee how good Tim is or Home Free. You just sccratsh the surfish with this. If you whanna know moor aboute Tim Check there live whit this song from the sing of!!! THere you canhear it al. Also check Mistey Mountines with him and Peter Hollens. Then you have "Youre man" preferd live!!! Ther you can gett some hints aboute what Tim is cabeble of. There are some videos oute there he is breaking sound systems whith that song!!! hihih Adam Rupp has his own solos in the showes. He changes them every toure. So mutch fun. Rob Lungquist has Swedish herritige(sorry for bad spelling) and also has special to wissel melodies whitch he does often. Austin Brown has an angels voice and also doing outher types of music like "Les misserables" (sorry spelling). Then there is Chris Rupp (adams brother) that started Home Free with him in 2000 in college. Chris left the band in 2016. He is know doing his own things and there are a lott different things. He playes classic piano and done records whit tthat. He done is own written album like pop/rock/country liked songs. Love that one. He has done some hymn albums some christmas things to. They have also done some records and have many videos on you tube So there you have some new things toreact to. Whising you al well and have a fun weekend from me in Sweden. Gonna be fun see what youre doing next.
Glad I found your channel, saw you checking out what I think was your first Home Free reaction then this one. You seem really genuine and nice, perfect for reaction videos, keep it up, new sub! And this version of this song is unbelievable. I absolutely love Home Free but if I have to pick a favorite this might be the one. It's funny seeing someone check it out for the first time to be amazed (rightfully so) at Avi's low notes and knowing that low note Tim drops is just coming up.... you know nothing young jedi. I'm stoned so im rambling, but I wanted to give some props.
All time favorite artist is now Home Free, specifically Austin Brown who is the high tenor. I could listen to him all day everyday and never get tired of his voice!! Austin has just recently started his solo career in addition to what he is doing with Home Free and I'm loving it!
It's so funny that I just came upon your video reactions this being the second one. What I found funny was that in the first vid you had just came across this group and had no idea who they were and was claiming that this was one of the best groups you heard and now you know their names and more. Kind of funny to me. I do like your reactions cause they seem genuine.

Tim hit G1 for 14 seconds ....and he goes deeper - wait until you hear Folsom prison blues - another Johnny Cash cover - Tim puts an eye opener in there ....
The last bass note that was sustained was Tim. If you watch closely you see Avi changing his beanie for a cowboy had and singing the ba, bada, bada bada line with the rest of the guys and Tim is being a subwoofer. Another reaction UA-camr said that was a G1 that Tim did at the end. I really like this performance by them, I love that it is bass heavy.
Dear Schnell, that last note is all Tim. You should react to Peter Hollens and Tim Foust Misty Mountains to hear him do it again on the last note and you can also hear him go even lower with just Home Free singing a shorter version of this song on the show Sing Off where they competed and won their season, which was the season after Pentatonix won. As far as my favorite, in 2017 it became & probably will remain the GORGEOUS DIMASH. With the holidays coming up PLEASE remember that Home Free & Pentatonix have a number of holiday & faith songs. 🎶👱♀️👗👠👠💓
OK, my favorite band has got to be the Eagles. I grew up with them and love their music. A quick point. The very last note, the low and long bass note, is actually Tim, If you watch carefully they show him singing the last couple words and then they show Avi putting his hat on and singing the bop-a-lopa part, while Tim is still holding the low note. As to who you are missing... you are missing the Beat Boxer's brother Chris, you can see him earlier in the video, standing in the back @4:25 in your video, with the cowboy hat on. This is an older video and at this time Adam Rupp ( the beat boxer) and his brother Chris Rupp (who was a founding member) are both part of the group. Chris left amicably (as far as I know of) to go do something else. Adam Rupp has got to be one of the best beat boxers out there. When Chris Rupp left, he was replaced by Adam Chance (yes, so there are two Adams in the group now but everybody seems to call the new Adam by his last name, so you will hear people say "Chance". Adam Chance is an amazing Baritone, and will often pick up the bass line when Tim is singing higher. Also, in the first Home Free video you did "Man of Constant Sorrow", Chance is shown near the end of the video and he is the one using the Mouth Harp to make the strange noise that starts and ends the video.
Loved your reaction, of course. One of my favs is Pink Floyd specifically Comfortably Numb, live at Pulse. David Gilmore is a world class guitar player and just sends this great song to another world, in fact watch closely in the end solo and you will see David's space ship open up to take him back to where ever it is he comes from. Love to see you react to this classic. Rob
I don't like categorizing music or musicians; but if I'm forced to choose an absolute favorite, it has to be Prince. His talent and skill is unmatched!

Great reaction I think that's how I reacted when I first heard this version from them. How Great Thou Art is probably my favorite by home free. Keep up all the wonderful vids Schnell!😊😊
Hi Patrick! Thanks so much 😊 John Denver.. Nice!
Back then, till now ,i Grew up Listening to Country songs/music...so Singers like Don Williams,Josh turner..are my all times fav.😊
That's Tim singing that final low note that excited you so!!! I've read that Tim & Avi have been working together so Avi can learn to use his lowest range as well!!! 😱🔥
My favorite musician/group is the barbershop quartet Instant Classic. I can listen to them all the time.
Easy, Karen Carpenter all day. Last note was Tim not Avi
ooooh Karen is absolutely amazing. My favorite is Bob Seger but I love Karen!!!
Yup that last low note was Tim Foust
Was Tim for sure :-))
I might be the oddball here, but I’m simply not impressed with the nasality of Avi Kaplan.
I love how this song takes EVERYONE off guard
goooood

Eric Clapton is my all-time favorite. Tim’s bass range is on full display in song Misty Mountain. He does it with Peter Hollens. Gorgeous song.
Great one!
Yeah these guys are good very good
All time favorite artist is now Home Free, specifically Austin Brown who is the high tenor. I could listen to him all day everyday and never get tired of his voice!! Austin has just recently started his solo career in addition to what he is doing with Home Free and I'm loving it!
hmm ... its got to be ... Tuomas from Nightwish .. haha ... really enjoy watching your reactions Schnell ..you definitely make my day ....
It's great to see you discovering all the talent within the group Home Free. I noticed that their updated tour schedule for 2022 includes several cities in Canada, and will be in Toronto at The Danforth Music Hall on Friday 23rd of September. Hope you can see them live! From what I've seen on their UA-cam videos of live shows, looks like great fun!
Other guy is Chris Rupp, the beat boxers brother. (Adam) Left and went solo a few years ago but is still so respected in the Home Free world. He was replaced by Adam Chance from Alabama
Home Free they are just good music and a fun time!!
As we get closer to the Holidays, you need to react to Home Free - Auld Lang Syne... youll love it..
Love your reactions.
My all time favourite artist is Leonard Cohen. Nowadays I listen Home Free a lot. A lot!
I have just seen your reaction to Home Free's "Man of Constant Sorrow". Your reactions are just so great!! Please watch/react to Home Free's version of End of the Road and/or Mayday. I promise you will love them!!
this note at the end that was made by the bass tim foust from the band home free finally this note he made was a g1 with a technique called grownl alias beautiful technique that is very well used by this majestic bass
Your reactions are so awesome I love it and please please please do thier cover of End of the road or where art thou.
If John Mayer is one of your favorites then you need to hear Home Frees cover of his song "In The Blood" it is absolutely great! ' They also do a great cover of Boyz II Men "End of the Road" and Cam's "Mayday". Love your reactions!
SCHNELL , GREAT REACTION ! MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SINGER IS MARCELITTO POMOY. MY FAVORITE SONG BY HIM IS "BEAUTY AND THE BEAST" ON AMERICAS GOT TALENT : THE CHAMPIONS 2020 ALL HIS SONGS ARE AMAZING SO IT WAS HARD TO PICK THE ONE ABOVE ! PLEASE TRY TO FIND TIME TO REACT TO AS MANY OF HIS SONGS AS YOU CAN !
Tim has a five octave range...he's amazing. you should hear his solo of Can't Help Falling In Love with You! Also listen to their rendition of How Great Thou Art, Country Road, Castle on the Hill, In the Blood and so many others! Welcome to the family of Home Fries!
New favorite artist - Chris Klafford - Ocean Eyes!!! Eargasms...
My all time favorite artist/musician, songwriter? Beethoven, John Phillip Souza, Doc Severinson, Floyd Cramer
So many great groups out there that you need to discover my favorites are Home Free, Voice Play, Pentatonix, Voctive and the original acapella group Straight No Chaser.
Listen to mayday and really see Tim's range
Mayday is great but only after a few more... Hillbilly bone and maybe a couple more before getting that surprise!
Not yet. She’s only heard two songs.
She would really flip out if she did mayday there all time best
She is ready for Mayday !!!!!
It's not Tim's bass in Mayday, that's all Chance
Dear Schnell, that last note is all Tim. You should react to Peter Hollens and Tim Foust Misty Mountains to hear him do it again on the last note and you can also hear him go even lower with just Home Free singing a shorter version of this song on the show Sing Off where they competed and won their season, which was the season after Pentatonix won. As far as my favorite, in 2017 it became & probably will remain the GORGEOUS DIMASH. With the holidays coming up PLEASE remember that Home Free & Pentatonix have a number of holiday & faith songs. 🎶👱♀️👗👠👠💓
Favorite Musician of all time for me is Etta James, from young spirit to Smokey voice, All of her stuff.
A perfect example of Chance taking over the bass when Tim visits the attic is “Mayday.”
Find their cover of Seven Bridges Road. It's excellent!!
Rob
I'd love to see you react to Nightwish, your enthusiasm is infectious. Keep doing your thing.
I don't like categorizing music or musicians; but if I'm forced to choose an absolute favorite, it has to be Prince. His talent and skill is unmatched!
