The beginning picture shows three likenesses of Peter which means he is singing 3 voices at the same time, at a minimum, like a loop or layer. I heard that the producer of this piece was with Peter in a totally different location than Tim. During the set of Ahhs you commented on, Tim is not pictured, only Peter. I assume that means all the voices in that Choir is Peter, even the bass. How lucky is Jeff W
@@michaelmclane8501 Yes, Peter was in Oregon an Tim was on one of the Caribbean islands, I can't remember which one. That makes this even more impressive than it already was.
Peter and Tim have done several covers together including Sound Of Silence, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Greensleeves, Fire and Rain. They do sound so good together.
@@brucelanning4420 Tim can not only go below the range of human hearing his range goes all the way to tenor. he is actually in the Georgia hall of fame.
@@al1561, why am I not surprised? I recently saw his studio video from his Doo wop album...I knew about his bass, but his high tenor/virtually falsetto? Unreal! No wonder I'm a fan of him and Homefree
Peter Hollens just did another collab with Home Free and several of their Patreon supporters and I recommend you reacting to that. It was amazing and uplifting to watch which I think everyone could use right now
May I suggest you find the history of this colaboration between Peter and Tim! From what I have read, this song was done on the same day , on Different sides of the world! Peter was in the Northwest USA and Tim was on some island on the East Coast (maybe even a Carribean isle, I don't remember.)
Peter Hollens sounds amazing with everyone! He really is amazing at what he does. He colabs with Tim Foust frequently, and in a recent video even both of their wives sang too, the video is God Only Knows, and Tim sings really high. That man's extension and versatility are something else! How can a guy that sings this low sing like a tenor???? Mayday from Home Free is a song he just decided to be a tenor and did an amazing job. Tim is singing off the under mountains where the dwarves live. Peter on the other hand is singing off were the Elves live. Both are in danger to what is coming. They are doing a massive job with this song.
Have to admit that I very nearly spit my coffee all over my phone (in laughter) at your "holy manliness!" comment. Peter Hollins has several collaborations with Tim that are worth looking at, including one where Peter and his wife sing with Tim and his wife. He also gets together with the Home Free group a few times, and it's beautiful. On a very different note, have you discovered Voctave yet? If not, may I very strongly suggest you look at their version of "Mary Did You Know" featuring Mark Lowry (who wrote the lyrics of this Christmas song). It powerful! And voctave has a soprano who goes as high, with as much control, as Tim goes low.
I see others have mentioned Geoff Castelluci already, but no one mentioned that he also did an arrangement of this piece. That one is definitely worth checking out too. He does all 4 parts and he does some really sick things in it.
The note sounded airy on the best headphones, so I opened UA-cam on my Smart TV and listened with a 2ea. 15" subs on a 7.1 sound system, no air, the note much deeper than on headphones.

Tim is sooo intense in this one. His eyes could cut you down. What Marines call their "war face". Love this video!!! Peter Hollens' voice is so perfect with Tim's.
That was a G0 and yeah that’s pretty much everybody’s reaction to that note. Love them both and love this song so much. This was the song I discovered Home Free through.
You should definitely watch ALL of Peter Hollens videos! Most are completely done with only his voice, humming, finger snaps, foot stomps, etc, and recorded on multiple tracks layered over each other to make all of the music and background siging. He has done some that are OVER 140 separate tracks for 1 song! A few really good ones to start with are "Desert Rose", "Ultimate Queen Medley", "I See Fire", "Baba Yetu" (the lords prayer sung in Swahili), and a duet with his wife of "What are Words"!
At the end, watch the fur on Tim's coat. The fur quiver's when he is holding that low, beautiful note at the end. Awesome!!! Great job with this Peter Hollens! You and Tim, put us in the setting, time, and place. Loved your reaction Schnell; it was mine, too.

Awesome! Thank you for the outstanding reaction. Peter Hollens and Avi Kaplan (from PTX) do a song Black Is The Color Of My True Loves Hair that is pretty awesome also! Peter loves bass singers. Stay Safe!
What an awesome . Collaboration with Peter and Tim one of my favorite songs from The Hobbit which is also a great book. Keep up your reaction they are amazing come on beautiful humans join the #Jordan Nation❣❣
Peter Hollens has released a couple of songs with all of Home Free - Amazing Grace a few years ago and today (!) Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For. I'd highly recommend watching Amazing Grace first, having seen them both. I absolutely love Home Free, and Peter Hollens! I also recommend Evynne Hollens, Peter's wife. She's in some of his videos and is great as well. Such versatility from all 3!
Hiya @Schnell Jordan Reacts: I'm revisiting this particular reaction after 1.5 years, and still loving how you are blown away by Peter and Tim's performance in this piece. Yes, I am also rather jealous of Tim - I too can sing bass, but nowhere near what this young lad can sing. I have rumbled around bottom 'C' and a little further down, but not very strongly I'm afraid ... plus, that was over 30 years ago - I don't have a hope now 🤣! A thought just occurred to me ... and my very recently passed mother (January this year) - who would have absolutely loved this song - would have jokingly said "Schnell, Schnell, Schnell ... close your mouth - you're catching flies!" 😂🙃😉 But honestly, who wouldn't react this way? 😅 Please keep reacting to music - it truly is the balm for the soul. And this masterpiece by Peter and Tim, I've found, is something that can ease almost any pain, calm the heart, and bring peace to the soul - it sure is helping me through my grief and sadness. Hope you are keeping safe and well. Best wishes from DownUnder (Sydney, Australia).👍
i remember hearing this in the hobbit movie it was a tribute to thorin oakenshield from the battle of the five armies and in the history channel vikings the resonance the music their voice tones it is so calming and soothing
Just a little FYI on Peter ... He's World known in a capella and heads the a capella Dept at the University of Oregon. He's also pretty popular, his UA-cam channel has over 2.5 Million Subscribers ;-)
Peter Hollens has been making videos for years. I discovered him when I started following Pentatonix. He works with others and he does solo work. Most of his productions are acapella. When he does a solo project he layers all the parts. He has a crazy range. Probably bigger than Scott from Pentatonix. This particular song was from The Hobbit movie. Peter did a whole album of Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movie music. That album was hauntingly good. I get chills when I hear his version of 'Into the West' from his Lord of the Rings album. He is amazing. I am pretty sure Tim can go lower than Avi from PTX or maybe anyone else.
Peter usually does 80 to 140 layers per video for each song he covers and sings. He does incredible work and I definitely recommend giving any of his covers a listen and reaction as well. 8:43 The note that Tim had sang at the very end of the song was a G#1. That's an incredibly low note and is incredibly hard to reach or sing without a LOT of practice and training. I think it's mostly a chest voice note, but I could be completely wrong though.
Loved your reaction! (This song is from the movie the Hobbit). Yes, we love Tim and Peter’s collaborations. They’re all good. Sounds of Silence and Greensleeves are very good. They both have great range. Even some of those “ahhhhs” were Tim as well. He has a 5 octave range and can sing tenor. You can see his range in Mayday as well. Peter also has at least a 4 octave range I think. Peter does an excellent song with Avi too. Try How Great Thou Art, Seven Bridges Road, Yours to hear some great harmonies. Please keep reacting!
This is my favorite collaboration with Tim! Yes! There are others with these two! Peter just included Home Free with fans of both to collaborate on U2’s cover of “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”! It’s so good! Also, Voice Play (another great A Capella group that was on same season as Home Free) is great! They have done many great videos! They did a collaboration with a bunch of different singers in the A cappella music genre called “Just Sing” which was awesome!! There’s a surprise appearance from another group in there. I would love to see your reaction to that one. Plus, Geoff Castelucci has his own UA-cam channel. Check out his company era of the Beatles “Blackbird” and “The Headless Horseman”! You won’t be disappointed!
Peter Hollens is great alone, plus he's done songs with members of Home Free and Pentatonix, as well as a couple of songs with all of Home Free, Amazing Grace, and one that was just released, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.
The two of them have done a few collaborations. Two that come to mind are "The Sound of Silence" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water". It really is amazing how 2 people can sound like a full choir. From what I've recently read, they were actually in separate countries when they filmed this. Also, as far as books, I'm currently reading the fifth (and final) book in the "Trials of Apollo" series. It's the third series of "Percy Jackson" stories.
I love how enthusiastic you are in your videos. You got yourself a new subscriber! You should give Daughter of The Sea covered by Peter Hollens a listen, that song is one of my favorite songs and he does it so incredibly well (like with everything he does, the man's a genius) Peter Hollens, Home Free and VoicePlay constantly inspire me and although I only upload a singing video a few times a year or less (due to severe lack of energy), then they are part of what gives me the energy to continue to not just sing when alone but also share it with friends (and whoever else comes by). Music is one of the greatest gifts. I cannot in any way describe how much it means to me. it is what keeps me sane in a chaotic world. Wishing you the most wonderful day, full of inner sunshine. Love from Denmark

Take care and God Bless!
I enjoy the collab here. Their voices make the song exactly what I think it should be in the Hobbit series. And I think Peter’s soprano really puts emphasis on Tim’s bass vocals when he comes back into the song. That last note is a G# and Tim himself jokes about it, and calls it the dragon’s breath!
Hi, they sounded like chocolate ( I hope you'll understand ) that was a master piece and the man who mixed the voices made a fantastic job becouse we can hear every single voice and knowing Peter there were at least 25 tracks to mix. Stay safe
A total masterpiece My first time hearing this also. I kept thinking what this reminds me of and my mind just kept going haywire. Like something you would hear in a Catholic Church, then something you would hear in a movie like the Vikings, And even Christmas song Absolutely amazing loved it. Great Reaction as always Stay Safe 😀😀😀😀
Favorite book series currently is the Tiger's Curse. Its a 4 book series that beautifully blends mythology, various religions and magic in a modern story. Short hand, young woman gets hired to help take a white tiger with blue eyes, back to India. Turns out he is a prince from hundreds of years ago that was cursed and he has a brother that is a black tiger with golden eyes. She will help them and some others that know the secret to end the curse. Each book is part of the curse. It has it all. Love triangles, dragons, Noah's Ark, Hindu gods and goddesses, celtic lore. Its all there. Also Throne of Glass Series is great is you like young heroines stories. Especially when they have a twist. And amazing reaction as always. This was my first time listening to this song as well and I grew up on Tolkien long long before any of the movies. I used to watch the 1979 animated version of the Hobbit and love the music in it.

There are a number of videos on youtube where Tim Foust blows the speakers. Thanks for the reaction.
Peter and Home Free do a wonderful version of "Amazing Grace"
Awesome schell excellent and beautiful reaction
Please keep reacting to music - it truly is the balm for the soul.
"Holy manliness... Tim Foust...:" I think I've said that a few times while questioning my own sexuality as a man
Peter Hollens has been making videos for years.
I'd love to see you react to Geoff Castellucci's version of this song!
You should see Tim hit those low notes in person. You feel it through your whole body! ❤
I love how enthusiastic you are in your videos. You got yourself a new subscriber!
You should give Daughter of The Sea covered by Peter Hollens a listen, that song is one of my favorite songs and he does it so incredibly well (like with everything he does, the man's a genius)
Peter Hollens, Home Free and VoicePlay constantly inspire me and although I only upload a singing video a few times a year or less (due to severe lack of energy), then they are part of what gives me the energy to continue to not just sing when alone but also share it with friends (and whoever else comes by).
Music is one of the greatest gifts. I cannot in any way describe how much it means to me. it is what keeps me sane in a chaotic world.
Wishing you the most wonderful day, full of inner sunshine.
Love from Denmark

Check out his wonderful and talented wife as well (Evan).....once again Schnell...thank u for all u do!
p.s...One more thing....PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.....checkout the wonderful song that Peter And Avy did together called..."BLACK IS THE COLOR OF MY TRUE LOVE'S HAIR"!!!...if u enjoyed MISTY MOUNTAIN...than u will very much enjoy BLACK IS THE COLOR OF MY TRUE LOVES HAIR!! lol! Take care and God Bless!
I love when a beautiful woman smiles so much!
Stay safe
A total masterpiece
My first time hearing this also.
I kept thinking what this reminds me of and my mind just kept going haywire.
Like something you would hear in a Catholic Church, then something you would hear in a movie like the Vikings,
And even Christmas song
Absolutely amazing loved it.
Ok, It's official you are my favourite reactor!! I like watching people react to how low Tim can sing, I think he hit an e or f when they were on the competition show. But I loved watching your reaction because I got to see that beautiful smile for pretty much all of the video 👍👍😊💘💛💙 Looking forward to hearing how many more words you pair with Holy lol😎😎 Stay safe.
That was the camera shaking on Tim’s G1 at the end.
Loved your reaction. If you look closely at the video when Tim hits that low note, the camera vibrates. Tim does that to your body and your chair at live concerts. I know, I have been to six. They have fans who are deaf that love them because they can feel the vibrations.
Outlander by Diane Gabaldon is a great book. It's the first in a 8 book series with a 9th. coming soon. You'd love them. This song does grab everyone's attention. Loved your reaction. God bless and stay safe
If you enjoy Christmas music please plan to react to some of Home Free's wonderful renditions, "Do You Hear What I Hear" if nothing else. And come new year their rendition of "Auld Lang Syne" is superb!
I'll be home for Christmas also!
Hey Schnell Thanks for doing this video, I enjoyed it so much so many emotions I felt throughout this video! BUT THAT ENDING THOUGH AMAZING! YOUR EXPRESSION AT THE END "PRICELESS " Much love from here in the States!😃😃😃
Home Free with Peter Hollands singing U2 I still haven't found what I'm looking for.
Tim's voice has even blown subwoofers. Check out the video of how low he gets. BTW new subscriber love your sincerity and input on the video.
You should definitely listen to Peter Hollens and Avi Kaplan singing "Black is the color of my true love's hair".
This song was filmed it two locations,Peter was in Oregon and Tim was in I think the Bahamas. How this came together flawlessly is amazing
