I love the Eagles, and as much as I appreciate Home Free as an acapella singer myself, this time I prefer that version.
Me to just anit the same!
Came here to say the same thing. Their version is much better. Unfortunately, reacting to the Eagles gets you blocked quickly on here.
The Eagles version is much better for sure.
The Eagles' version was the most famous but it wasn't the original. Steve Young wrote and recorded it in '69 on his Rock Salt and Nails album. His unique voice made the song special, imo. "Kenny's Song" from the same album is also worth a listen. Too bad Steve Young isn't more widely known.
I was coming here to say the same. Just can't beat the Eagles version ❤
IMHO, no other a cappella group has tighter harmonies than Home Free. They are phenomenal!
Mm. Check out Take 6...
Hey y’all! You gotta check out the newest Home Free video “Something to Talk About” introducing Adam Bastein as the newest member…great job! He will be their tenor as Austin (the red haired guy) left the group to spend more time at home with his wife and, hopefully, future family.
You've really only scratched the surface. I'm definitely looking forward to more. Thanks for the reaction
Jay and Amber I love this song. The Eagles did this on their live album in the late 70's its all acapella.
I always loved their covers of Take me Home Country Roads and Listen to the Music.
This song was first written & recorded by Steve Young in 1969 who was living in Montgomery,Alabama when he was inspired by a real road that crossed, you guessed it, seven bridges. Steve plays his original 1969 version with an acoustic band with a string orchestra on it, & it is slower, it never was intended to be an a cappella song. In 1973, on Ian Matthew’s album”Valley Hi” he did his version of this song with the opening first 50 seconds of the song done a cappella, which gave the Eagles the idea to do the beginning of the song a cappella. Many people have covered this song since 1969, but the Eagles version is by far the best version. Home Free’s is arguably a close second.
Has anyone gone down Woodley rd. In Montgomery, AL, just to count the bridges?
I live in Montgomery. Woolley road seven bridges is real.

Suggestions for Home Free...Mayday, and Helplessly Hoping...Both will blow you away
Oh yeah and In The Blood
Love Home Free. I’ve seen them live 3 times now and they are so good live too. The redhead (Austin) will be leaving the group in July. He is newly married and wants to stay home. He will be replaced by Adam Bastien. Beatboxer (Adam also) is an incredible beatboxer. You don’t miss instruments when you have Adam!😍😄
I love this song and they did a great job on this song. Home Free is my favorite group and I love to hear them sing. The harmonies are great. Adam the beatboxer is great 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Just in case artists don't think that your reactions spark sales; I'd never heard of Home Free, but after hearing this reaction, I just spent $70 on Amazon ordering their CDs. Word!
They have a huge number of videos on youtube. Not just videos like this but videos of this live show recorded by them and by audience members. They also have a lot of behind the scenes and non music recordings, like series called Home Away From Home, Home Free Eats 6 video where they tour favorite restaurants in the Nashville, Minneapolis, and southeast Texas areas, and From the Vault (26 behind the scenes of filming their music videos).
You should hear the Eagles version.
It’s just Eagles, not The Eagles.
@@jackmandu I don't think anyone ever said "I like Eagles" without putting the word "the" in there.
@@johnsilva9139 - I’m just telling you what the band’s name is. I’m sure plenty of people have said I like Eagles, although they may have been referring to birds. That said, you don’t call them The U2 or The Styx. At least I hope you don’t.
Either way, the Don would block the video.
@@jackmandu And that's exactly why people say "the Eagles" when referring to the band to avoid confusion.
I found you two because I’m a Home Fry and saw you were playing my guys music when you first found them! And I’ve been happy I did ever since❤️🤗🐝
I am so glad you got back to home free.
This was so beautiful and epic! You definitely need to start reacting to Home Free more often. Any song sung by them is amazing, but the ones you, especially, need to react to are “Jump Right In” (their cover of a Zach Brown Band song) because it sounds absolutely amazing and beautiful, is one of my favorites, and is perfect for summer and “End of the Road” (their cover of a Boys II Men song) because it sounds absolutely amazing and is, probably, my favorite song sung by them. I'd love to go to a Home Free concert as well! I have no doubt that it'd be so amazing and epic!
Not only Uber talented but I am fascinated by the mouth instrumentals!
Home Free is audio therapy!
They do a fantastic job on this song, beautifully executed 😊
Beautiful version of this Song! Great choice & Reaction, You Guys! :)
Stellar, amazing, magnificent.
I have seen them live 6 times! It is truely an amazing experience! So if ya get the chance to see them live grab it. You wont regret it. Luv the reaction! 🤙
I love Home Free's version of the Dire Straits song Brothers in Arms.
If you haven't checked out some of the fan videos taken of Adam's drum solo he does in live concerts you should check Adam Rupp's drum solo out.
Their version of do u hear what I hear is my fav Xmas song
Autumn tour dates just announced! Saw them last year - brilliant!
Austin Brown, the one you term the lead singer, the tall thin guy with the long hair, is leaving the group, and the group is toning down their touring schedule.
Beautiful!!
Great reaction, guys. Definitely keep the #homefree coming. I don't think you've seen their recent version of Stand by Me. Austin And Rob deliver incredible solos and there's an amazing breakdown in their signature organ-like harmony that's quite an invention.
Austin Brown is my favorite in the group also. Breaks my heart a bit that he's leaving the group after about 11 years with them and more than 15 years on the road and sea (they found him on a cruise ship). At least I got to congratulate him on his marriage. The new guy coming in is Adam Bell-Bastien who is not really new to the group at all. He was with Home Free in their early days and may have been one of the original members, although I'm not sure about that last part. When Chris Rupp (the guy in the center with the cap on, the beatboxer's brother) left the group in 2016 he formed a group with his sister Tristin, Adam Bastien, and another young lady named Kelley Jakle, called 7th Ave (see their great video for Uptown Funk). Chris also did a video called Drinkin' With Me with Adam Bastien so I am somewhat familiar with him. I'm looking forward to seeing Home Free with the new guy this October. He's Adam (damn! That makes 3 Adams in the group now!) Bell-Bastien now and I'm gonna tell him I think his husband's a real cutie.
his wife, i refer her as Yoko Ono now
@@thorzzz1z Who are you talking about? Certainly not Amberly or Jerome.
I was referring to Jerome Bell-Bastien. I already got to praise Amberly to Austin.
Beautiful!!!!!!!!!😂😂
❤❤❤❤❤ The Eagles version is awesome too. Give it a listen. Home Free has a song called "What We Ain't Got" and it is soooo good.
Beautiful Minneapolis in the background....❤❤
You need to do the original version by the Eagles.
Well even the Eagles was a cover version, originally by Steve Young. But the Eagles are the definitive.
Nobody can react to Eagles songs. They block everything.
@@StevenPyles Yes, They reacted to "Hotel California" and it was the first of their video's to reach 1 million views. They had to remove it long ago. But other reactors have reviewed the song and their reactions have stayed. Hmmmm! Makes me think there is more to this.
For Independence Day you should do Home Free's "Land of the Free". It's a great song. The video makes you wish you could hang out with them. And it's an original so the haters can't gripe in the comments about covers and original artists.
I leave in south Indiana and we have 7 covered bridges and once a month we celebrate them❤
Yes! More Home Free, please. Y'all just missed a Home Free concert at Rose State College MWC March 28.
Still waiting for you folks to react to Clutch. You've been cheating yourselves for years if you're not listening to Clutch! If you like acapella, check out The Vinyls from the 80s. Amazing group! This is the type of music you play at a family cookout cranked at 11! Having a bad day, listen to Home Free and other Acapella groups. But Clutch is a must listen!
A Home Run!
Love this song!
For a really good laugh, check out Home Free's "Butts Medley." It's great fun.
I saw them and they are amazing.
Exquisite unison with fabulous harmonies too!!!!
Adam Rupp's vocal percussion is amazing, but hearing him sing is a great treat too❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ #HomeFree #AdamRuppSinging
"Mayday" wound up being my favorite, even though I had never heard the Cam version (TBH did not even know there was a Cam before this).
The answer is yes, everyone does smile when they hear them, which is why we want you to do more of them. You should do MAYDAY, TAKE ME HOME COUNTRY ROADS, and GOD BLESS THE USA with Lee Greenwood and the US Airforce band.
I love their Butts remix. It makes me smile every time I hear it
If you like acapella, you will love the trippy and timeless After The Gold Rush by Prelude. It’s a 1974 hit that was written by Neil Young. Beautiful haunting vocals.
You guys have got to hear the song Say I Won't by Mercy Me. It is such a great song of triumph and perseverance in the face of tragedy.
They have talent
I would suggest you listen to End of the Road, How Great Thou Art, and Mayday. All unforgettable.
Another acapella group you need to react to is Pentatonix. Their range and variety are amazing. Their cover of Bohemian Rhapsody is the best I’ve ever heard. Their Christmas album is amazing too. Mary Did You Know, and Hallelujah are amazing.
Sending love from sunny SoCal.
Home Free "Traveling Soldier" they put a different light on the song you enjoy.
They are just as delightful live!
One of the great "Eagles" songs, Home Free did a great cover of this song! You should check out the original version by the Eagles.
Home Free is a cool group with awesome sound. But I've got some suggestions for other songs: "Superstition" - Stevie Wonder, "Road To Alaska" - Bee Gees, "Kicked Out Of Country" - George Strait, "Murder On Music Row" - George Strait and Alan Jackson, "California Girls" - Gretchen Wilson, "Fool For A Night" - Peta Gibb (Gibb Collective, Andy's daughter), "If I Can't Have You" - Yvonne Elliman, "Love Is Alive" - The Judds, "Romeo" - Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker, Billy Rae Cyrus, and others.
Check out the live version of The Sea Shanty Medley. ❤
This group do The Eagles proud with this song!! You should also react to their collaboration with the Oak Ridge Boys with Elvira!!
The Eagles version of this song, was released on their Live album from 1980. It was an acapella song that was a hit. But, at that time, the Eagles could do no wrong…
I love home free’s Elvira with the Oak Ridge Boys who did the original, and Delta Dawn.
that's Austin, he recently left the group, they have a new replacement now, he is good too. i've seen them now 5 times, mind blowing....
He hasn’t left yet he is leaving in July and Adam is taking his place. Adam’s first concert with Home Free is July 31
yes i know very soon, Adam Bell-Bastian is taking his place.
@@laurafoote214....yes...by all accounts Austin's last appearance with them will be in 6 days. June 25.
I am sure they can blow the roof off most any venue, but Tim Foust ( the base singer ) has blown the speakers at several of their shows with his sub-harmonics because he can go so low.
Amber I DARE you to react to Joe Bonamassas Double crossing time in aThe British Blues Explosion 😅 If you ever do you might want to have the paddles ready to shock you back after your heart runs away with you 😅. It's absolutely beyond what anyone's mind can comprehend to see how he plays or shreddss in that song. It's not possible that anybody can play a Blues song and it's a slow song but his lead is playing so fast that you can't keep up with watching him.
Home Free is the kind of group that just brings us home,, great reaction guys.
This song was also done by the Eagles
And The Oak Ridge Boys.
Yes. "Also done" is nearly an insult.
@@mikematusek4233 And my favorite version was done by "Ricochet". It's a good song to show off a groups great harmony!
Steve Young originally.
Their version of Helplessly Hoping is pretty amazing.
I've always loved The Eagles version, but they sure gave it go! Love it too.
For Independence Day I recommend Home Free and Lee Greenwood singing God Bless the USA along with members of the US Air Force Band/ Choir. I’m also going to recommend Pentatonix’s version of Seasons of Love that they sang for Independence Day a few years ago. Both are spectacular!
Can't understand why they would associate with Greenwood seeing as he's bosom buddies with Trump and is his partner in the Trump Bible scam.
You need to also check out the group Voiceplay and a much older acapella group Rockapella. I think you will also appreciate, love and enjoy them as well!!
My favorite version is Girl Named Tom and Kinsey Rose from 2021 The Voice battles.
You need to listen to Brother. The music is amazing and the action is fantastic! You’ll need to see it several times to catch all the fun!
If you need your mind blown, watch their live version of Sea Shanty Medley! It’s even better than the studio recording! 😊
They announced that Austin ( long reddish hair ) is leaving the group in July and Adam Bastien will be taking his place. Adam B’s first concert with the group is July 31 at The Grand Ol Opry. Adam B is not new to Home Free he subbed for another tenor when Home Free first started and also he was a member of Chris Rupp’s group ( guy in the middle ) 7th Ave.
Mm. At this rate they'll have to rename HF as The Adams Family...
@@stevetournay6103 That’s what I said when Adam B was first announced 😂
For some reason they arranged with Austin that he would tour with the band until the fall, then told him he was no longer wanted after July, then abruptly cancelled all his appearances without notice, so Bastien started in June. Very odd behaviour by their management. Austin loved the fans and got no chance to say goodbye.
@@patriciamcl54it was Austin’s choice to leave please stop giving false information
Speaking of a cappella groups, on the gospel/jazz side, check out Take 6. They've been around since the 80s. Some of their songs are Moody's Mood for Love (I'm In the Mood for Love), Spread Love, I L-O-V-E U, A Quiet Place, Sailing.
Seven Bridges Road by the Eagles is my husband’s favorite song.. took him to see them last year for his birthday/bucket list..
The original Eagles version is AWESOME. This is good too. They changed it enough to make it their own.
These guys are pretty awesome. But I like the Eagles version better.
You guys really need to give Chris LeDoux another shot. The song "Stampede" is a great story of cowboys in the late 1800's. It has some awesome guitar riffs also. I think you guys will really like it. Amber would love "Riding for a fall". It's a bit slower, but a good song.
May I suggest "Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget". You'll get a kick out of it.
Home Free- Big Butts Medley!!
There is actually a place in southern Alabama south of Montgomery that is called seven bridges road an there is seven bridges
The Original by the Eagles is A Must Listen!! This is good, the original is Amazing!!!
Yes the eagles did this and it's the famous one, but someone else did it first Steve Young I believe
Steve Young wrote this song.
REQUEST REACTION. STARRIDER BY FOREIGNER FIRST ALBUM. GREAT REACTIONS
As fellow Home Fries that LOVE Home Free, thinking of their amazing bass singer Tim Foust... GEOFF CASTELLUCCI is another bass singer I HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking out. The most popular video on his UA-cam channel, with 22M views, and one of my favorites, is his cover of FAR OVER THE MISTY MOUNTAINS COLD. This is the song the dwarves sing in Bilbo Baggins' home in the beginning of the Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey film. If you watch this video, keep in mind that every man you see and every voice you hear in the video is Geoff Castellucci. Please please please check this out! 🙂
Sorry, late on this video. I wanted to mention, if you like Home Free and their songs, check out this video. I See Fire, from the Hobbit, the bass version. OMG it is bass group heaven.
The gambler from home free
You have to do the Eagles version.
It'd get taken down. Henley doesn't like reactions.
It is so strange that they each seem they would skyrocket alone in very different genres but together they can tackle pretty much all of them.
Damn it's been a long long time! Since they made you take off your headphones 🎧 and you've ignored them ever since. Austin the one that made you remove your headphones in When A Man Loves A Woman is leaving the group to spend more time at home and hopefully raise a family 😊😊 ( the guy with the long hair 😢
HEY GUYS LADY UNICORN HERE (IS LUCA ENJOYING HIS INSTRUMENTS I SENT?) AUSTIN, YOUR FAVORITE IS LEAVING AT THE END OF JULY. THEY HAVE FOUND A REPLACEMENT TO START ON JULY 31 IN CONCERT. WHEN CHRIS, THE BEAT BOXER'S BROTHER (WHO'S NAME IS ADAM) LEFT IN 2016 HE WAS REPLACED BY ADAM CHANCE WHO IS CALLED 'CHANCE' SINCE BB'S NAME IS ADAM. THE NEW MEMBER REPLACING AUSTIN WILL BE KNOWN AS 'BASTIEN' SINCE HIS NAME IS ADAM BELL-BASTIEN. HE HAD TOURED FOR HOME FREE IN A SUB- UNIT WHILE HOME FREE WAS ON THE SING-0FF, MAKING THEIR WIN IN 2013. FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD, HE IS A MEMBER OF THE ALPHABET COMMUNITY AND IS MARRIED. I DON'T KNOW HIS HUSBANDS NAME YET.
No contest The Eagles own this song !
This was a nice cover.
They overpowered the song.
This is a case where you really should've heard The Eagles first, in any case please check out The Eagles performance its clean simple amazing ✌️🙂
Theres a rehearsal video (1977) with The Eagles backstage warming up to this song... thats the first thing I think of whenever I hear this song.... you just can't top the best no matter how many layers you put on it.
Love the channel and thank you for the video 🙂👍
You can't do reactions to any Eagles stuff, Henley blocks it and you get a YT strike if you try. Presumably he doesn't want people to hear the band.
IMHO, Home Free is the best band working today in any genre. Their singing, harmonies & Adam's crazy beatboxing are incomparable. There's also a live video of them singing this song. BTW, they have around 300 videos - not including the live videos, solos, collaborations, side projects, "From the Vault" & "Home Away from Home" series. Umm - you're gonna need a lotta years at a few a month . . .
You definitely need to hear The Eagles version. They wrote it. This did a great job, though.
I do have to agree the eagles version is my favorite but i love this one also.
You need to review Pentatonics Bohemian Rapsody
Sadly, the member of the group you like has left the group to spend more time with his family.
This is my favorite Eagles song! My then husband and I saw them in concert on their "Hell Freezes Over" reunion tour in 1993, and I was so hoping they would play it ... but they didn't. Three hours of music, tho!
Not quite, he doesn't have a family yet, only got married a few months back. He has got tired of life on the road and wants to settle down after 17 years without a home. He also wants to explore the possibilities of his solo career, which has been successful enough that he can afford to leave the band.
If you haven't heard the Eagles sing this, you must.
Grayson Hugh 'Talk it Over'
I feel off of intuition that my Dad (75) would be loyal to the Eagles (he is familiar with Home Free too), on this one because he prefers uncomplicated.
I’m GenX, move me more than the original but keep your own style, I’m all in on merging old with new.
Some hit, some miss, but aim for the heart, every time.
So I was perusing on Spotify today and came across one of my favorite bands. They're called The Clarks and they're not super famous outside of the Pittsburgh area, but they have some great songs. I especially think you'll like one called "Born Too Late". It's fantastic. And also kind of educational. You'll find out. 😉
These guy's are great and technically fantastic. The Eagles version is slower and personally I think evoke more of the feeling. ✌️ y'all
Please do Terry Clark - Girls lie too.. Amber you will love it
One of my favorites of Home Free is Delta Dawn And, yeah, listen to the Eagles version on your own. Don't post it. We don't want your channel to get a strike.
