@@quiensera9947 um no. The drawing data base is the best, but he's not really known :( you should check him out, he shows more into depth videos than proko. Proko basically shows demos and not full classes while the UA-camr I mentioned does. Like I said, you should really check him out.

When I watch your videos I can't help but think how badly Art was taught when I was at school 30 years ago. I can learn more from you in these 16 minutes than all the instruction or lack of it, I received in 4 years of art class at school. Just wish we had someone like you to teach us back then. Only now in my late 50's thanks to people like you and UA-cam, am I beginning to really learn, and now enjoy my sketching and watercolour. It kind of makes me sad at all that time lost. Art was not taken seriously back in 1960-70's U.K., they did not see any link between art and getting a job - Main stream school was all about filling the factories and offices with it's next generation of labour.

truer words were never spoken! i never took art in college but in high school it was all crafts rather than any art, with that and my parents seeing no value in art i was totally discouraged from doing what you did. but isn't it grand that we now can learn so much from so many in just a few minutes per day!

In my search for a good UA-cam art teaching channel, I came across several great ones, but yours Alphonso, is simply the best! You're a 100% honest teacher. Some artists say something else than what they do, utilizing the same techniques you showed us, so that we would actually never learn unless we got ourselves premium access to their content. Thank you for patience, your time and your kind effort to help others manifest their creative ideas.

gosh you are such a good teacher! Following you today, I did so much better. I cannot tell you enough how much I appreciate this. I became disabled almost 3 years ago so of course I had to give up my job - the best I ever had. Because of this I had to give up my art lessons for financial reasons. For all this time I haven't done anything but sleep because I am so limited. But I found you. You have no idea how much this helps me. Now I can start learning again. This is such a gift from you. You have no idea how this helps me. Thank you so very much. God bless.

8:45 Using the same grid work as one usually works to draw objects in perspective to draw figures is brilliant! So simple that it should be obvious yet I never thought of it before this video. Thanks man, I just drew my first reclining figure that didn't look like it was drawn by picasso.

Oh my goodness! Finally someone has explained how to show organic shapes in perspective! Thank you. All I have ever been able to find is how to show man-made shapes, such as a road or a building, in perspective, which doesn't compute for me when trying to draw organic shapes like trees, or birds. The way you have explained this makes sense to me, and it works for more than just human shapes.

This video really helped to bring together for me how perspective and especially foreshortening can be applied to my drawing. Nature drawing are my primary subjects and the understanding how foreshortening and perspective may be applied will be very useful on some of the more complicated subjects I deal with. I believe taking what you have taught will allow me to deal with depth of field concerns.

God damn, I wish you'd taught me art in college. High school was all about crafting, cutting, hatching, technical skills, which was amazing and necessary, then college was all about going back to basics, for TWO WHOLE YEARS! Color wheels, penmanship, cutting, blocking, composition...as if everything prior didn't exist. Almost no "art" or real drawing. IMO the two most important things for anyone that wants to draw and build on their skills in a real, usable, FUN marketable way are 1) perspective and 2) anatomy/poses. You nailed it man.
